Background Information:
Iris-Faith was raised in a poor household after her father left nobility to marry her mother. Daughter of two well-mannered people, her father Wilhelm was a very respected historian before he 'fell in society' after marrying Ava Jane Augustine, a simple merchant's daughter. They married shortly after meeting and falling in love quickly, due to her low status in the world Wilhelm was disowned. At the same time, he was happy with his beautiful wife and baby on the way shortly after marrying.

Iris-Faith was born a healthy little bundle in the following year, and from day one her father knew she had promise with herself. Modest was how Iris-Faith she presented herself. Happy to learn about anything her father was going to teach her, carefully taking in all the details from the journals she read. Soon enough she was a level higher in her father knowing about the history of the streets they lived on too.

Iris-Faith never really had friends, in her early teens her mother died of an illness that swept through her village. Which also, in turn, made her father sick and frail. Leaving him unable to work and pay for the rent to keep the house. Slowly she fell into selling her body to save her parent's house and what they had. It didn't affect her much at the time, beaten or abused she was going to do it for her parents.

For her father's birthday, she brought him the first historical journal written by a young graduate, Matthew Wilther. In her innocent state of mind, she thought it truly was helping her father recover, but nothing was because of how far gone he was. Wilhelm suffered brain damage when it came to the time the illness swept through her town, the fever had caused his body to have gone into shock. Iris kept her father well, though he was already lost. Trying to hold onto hope for him. Each chance she got she would buy her father one of Matthew Wilther's books.

It came to her seventeenth birthday when her father's life came to an end, and that she found out she had a child on the way with an abusive client she had been seeing. Through her anger and pain, Iris-Faith burnt down her childhood home with every intention of dying there herself, until she was pulled out of the house by her childhood friend. Getting away from that life she had help from her childhood friend, who helped her when it came to the birth of her child. At eighteen and just given birth she started selling flowers on the streets for a living. Keeping Marigold to her side at all times.

Name: Matthew Wilther
Age: 26
Gender: Male
Nationality: English
Medical Conditions: None

Family: Matthew does know not know either of his parents, since he lost them to illness. He was taken in by his aunt and uncle who provided him with education from childhood. They are both very simple lower middleclass folk, with kind hearts, but borderline snobs in attitude.

Status: Nobleman

Personality: Matthew is blind to limits and rarely think of consequences to his action. This makes him very spontaneous and curious to new ideals. Unlike the common attitude of the victorian era, he is not very traditional. He aims to constantly learn, and work as if there is no tomorrow. When there is something he wants he usually work hard to get it, and deal with the outcome later on.

He usually have a calm, if not slightly reserved, presence and can entirely disappear into his work. When he gets an idea he will brighten up like a child, and is generally very thoughtful. He respect people who works hard, and are intelligent. He has no patience for explaining himself twice though, and would be a horrible teacher.

Background: Matthew lived in a scrappy neighborhood, but always had wits beyond his years. His uncle worked at a library and he helped out with putting the books in place on the shelves, which gave him an opportunity to read everything his heart desired when there wasn’t much work to be done. One time his uncle had accidentally locked him in there, because he had been too immerse in his book to respond to his call. Especially science and history was his favorite subjects and he would eat up the information as if the ink would fade if he didn’t read it fast enough.

He got a few years of education before his teachers noticed the articulate wording in his papers, and he was send to a boarding school in London with expenses paid. He seemed to bring a notebook to every event, as if it was permanently clued to his hand. The truth was that Matthew was starting to notice how quickly he could approve, and how his skills with a quill could lift his status. So he kept writing relentlessly.

At the age of 18 he had published his first book on history, and two years later he graduated from university with a degree in science. His whole world revolved around writing and lifting himself in status. Soon he had done just that, and was given noble status for his writing skills.

It was around this time he met Rowena Godwell who charmed him at a dinner party. She was witty and had a sharp tongue unlike many of the ladies at the party, so he fell fast and hard. He asked her to marry him after only knowing her a few weeks. However, he might have been too quick to propose, since he quickly found out that she wasn’t exactly all she seemed. Rowena had a terrible temper and had grown up rich all her life, so felt entitled to his constant attention and devotion. His love for her died only a few months into the engagement, but instead of breaking it off he postponed the wedding.

Name: Rowena Marksdale
Age: 20
Gender: Female
Nationality: English
Conditions: None
Family: Rowena is the oldest daughter of the prestige Marksdale family, who have held nobility through generations. They are descendants of royalty, although so far back that they don’t get to call themselves so. As the oldest daughter she is required to continue the good name. Her younger brother will be the inheritor of the name though.
Father: Christopher Marksdale
Mother: Lucy Marksdale
Sisters: Martha and Katherina Marksdale
Brothers: Philip Marksdale

Status: Noble

Personality:
Rowena has been raised to know that she is better than other people, but she knows that she also has to live up to expectations that is not expected of others. She takes pride in being lady-like and will eat no more than a squeeze of lemon if that is what it takes to keep her figure. She has a big sense of pride, and takes social status very seriously.

She is not stupid and can actually read people very well. That is why she has an easy time charming almost any man or manipulate any woman to her will. She will likely live up to be a powerful woman. She loves gossip and thrive on attention.

On the other side of the coin, she can be fragile. She never speaks of her problems and will only cry into her pillow if she is faced with problems. When she reach her breaking point she might act irrationally. Not being in control is her worst fear.

Background:
It’s a joke in the family that Rowena came out of the womb in a dress. Since she was young she has been sassy and drank her tea with a pinky out. She was raised as a princess, and was never in need of anything. From an early age she learned that girls would follow her around if she bought them gifts, and was the leader of many small groups, and the person who threw people out of the squads too.

She was highly intelligent and could speak her way out of everything. She had all the connections, and got high grades as a student. She was never very interested in education though, and was more in love with romance. She charmed several young men and received countless requests for her hand. Yet, she rejected them all, because she knew that only the best would do.

And the best showed up in Matthew Wilther. Her parents admired him, and he had proved in his life story that he could work hard and maintain a powerful position. Yet, as she agreed to take his hand a small part of her was dreaming of falling in love. She was truly done with getting chased by men and wanted to settle down.

Yet… love wasn’t coming and she has never been so frustrated to miss out on something like that.
