  Grew up in a castle in Australia before she was send to Cross Academy, her father's the head of the sun clan, one of the many keeping the peace between the humans and vampires in her country and her mother's the head of the moon clan. Her family has close ties with the Aidou family and she has known Hanabusa since she was a little kid and she stays in a small apartment near the academy when she's there.

asuka's upbringing wasn't an easy one, but it was one her mother refused to let down. after the disappearance of her father, a case that was once spread around like wildfire but now hushed into only whispers on the streets when mentioned, asuka's mother lived through her daughter by nearly forcing her to live the dream she could never finish: ballet. a few years into ballet, things were going swimmingly. asuka was entered in competitions, won awards, gained fame and attention, and soon the love of her very own mother. unfortunately, during one performance, things took a turn for the worst. the stage she had been performing on hadn't been properly checked through and through per her mothers demand, and because of it, asuka was brought the misfortune of stepping through the boards of the stage, up to her knee now beneath the floorboards and crushing her skin with an agonizing pain. she was rushed to help, and despite being a vampire and the healing process being quick and temporary, the wounds stuck with the distraught ballet dancer, and ruined her career.

how she arrived at cross academy is an easy question to answer: asuka's mother couldn't stand the sight of her dream being crushed once again, and through her daughter. she sent her to cross academy for her own selfish reasons, not that asuka minded at all. she had a few fans who attended the academy and made her feel right at [ what she would've hoped would be ] home. this is where she had the pleasure of meeting takuma ichijo, the boy who lit up her world with his radiance.
