Looking up from her books, Anissa just smiled at those around her. It was always the same things, the girls would put on loads of make up and skimpy clothing to impress the same guy, they would speak wonders of the other girls in front of them, then tear them down behind their backs. Then there was the guys, there was a new popular one almost every week. The captain of some team, and more times than not they had the brains the size of a pea, but they never failed to entertain. This week, the girls are going to try out for cheerleading because the "hottest" guy in school was on the football team and what better way to get next to him than to join the team. The most entertaining part for Anissa was most of the girls could barely walk with out killing them selves. A true smile graced her lips thinking of them trying to do some of the athletically challenging things.

Of course, she would just nod and go along with it all. It was better to just smile and nod than to cause a scene. To scream out how fake they all were, which of course in it's self was hypercritical. None of these people knew the real her, the person who cried at the drop of the hat over an animal getting hurt, or the foodie that laid deep inside of her. There was only one person in that whole school that knew that side of her. To all off them he was going to be her downfall, the one that brought her down after all the hard work she did to succeed None of them knew though that he was the reason she had not gone insane, the reason she was able to play the good daughter, the perfect student. They never saw how she would sneak out and just rant towards him, her eyes crazy and arms flailing.

That is why when she sees him there is a whole different look that takes over her face. What they see is an actual loving smiling, her eyes fill with fondness and her body instantly relaxes in his presence. Not caring who is around, Anissa always make sure there is room for him next to her, that way she can just relax against him, her head able to go silent for the small amount of time that she is able to rest her head against his shoulder. He was hers, and she was damn lucky.

Cain took the elevator down from the top floor of the building he was staying in. As the elevator steadily went down, he thought about 'her'. It had been years since she left, and he hasn't seen even a trace of her since. Even if he was quite the troublemaker back then, what he did up to now in order to get to this point would be unacceptable in another person's eyes. He wondered what she would think of him if he ever saw her again. As the elevator finally reached the first floor of the multi-story building, he stepped out and headed towards the exit of the building, hoping to get some fresh air.

The city wasn't quite the same as he remembered. It had changed significantly since back then. The city was significantly more crowded, there was less suspicious places to be found around the corner, not as many gangs... Perhaps this was a good thing, with the city changing for the better, especially since it was the city he grew up in, along with her. But for something he once knew so well to be changing so rapidly into something unrecognisable certainly did surprise him, and, even if a little bit, upsetted him.

Sure, some places might remain unchanged, but to see places he often visited back then being demolished in order to replace them with newer buildings, more skycrapers and construction being done everyday, it truly surprise him how much things have changed. As he walked down the street thinking about these things, he attracted many glances and stares due his white hair, which had turned white due to the stress he's experienced during the last several years, and it had remained this way even until now. He wasn't in the mood for dying it, and had thus, left it like this. It certainly was annoying when people stared. 'Heh... Even if I meet "her" again, I doubt she'd even recognise me.' He thought bitterly as he continued to enjoy his walk.
