With a fascination for the sky and all things beyond it, Rose is much less grounded than one would think. The stars at night constantly capture her attention, and she often finds herself skating away from her job at the local drive-in to stare up into the expanse.
Even if she stares and wonders, she'll never truly know if there are others out there in the dark sky. Maybe the stars are just stars, and they're all alone in this big world.
Or maybe the answer is a lot closer than she thought.

Appearance - Standing at around 5'3, Rose is hardly an intimidating girl. Honey blonde hair, fair skin, she has it all. Her thick eyebrows tend to give off the appearance of a scowl, along with the slight downturn of her lips. The smattering of freckles along her cheeks always become more visible in the summer, but she also tends to burn easily instead of tan. A shame.
Personality - Even if Rose isn't always in the middle of the conversation, she isn't exactly what some would call shy. Preferring one on one interactions rather than big group parties, she's often labelled cold and a tad bit cynical for her dry humor. Smiles seem rare, but it's not because she's unhappy. It just takes the right type of person to bring out a grin in her, and unfortunately, no one at the school is exactly her cup of tea. Growing up in the small town of Holcomb doesn't leave much to the imagination. Rose Jorky--- And no, not Dorky, wishes it was anything but that. Craving adventure and something new, she's stuck skating around the only fast-food chain in her little town. No one new comes into the area, and rarely anyone leaves. Leaving Holcomb is like...killing your mother, or something along those lines. Rose never actually understood the analogy, but she went along with it anyway. If they thought she wasn't gonna leave the second she graduated, they were all dead wrong.
The only thing she truly enjoys about the small town are the stars at night. Bright and shining, they're visible nearly every night. When she was younger, her mother often encouraged her to climb out the window of her bedroom to peer up at them. Rose often found herself taking that advice, even long after her mother moved away. Her father was one to discourage the dangerous habit, but where else was she supposed to go? The fields at night could be dangerous, and she could always just go back inside the moment it got a bit chilly. The roof was her own personal star gazing balcony, and she loved it.
Though, admittedly, she still sneaks out at work sometimes. It's a pretty boring job.

Humans have always fascinated Talis. Their odd... antics drawing him in like a moth to a flame. He always wished he could communicate with them, but of course it was forbidden. But that never stopped him from hoarding as much information as he could.
He never expected to do the forbidden. He never expected to be the one selected to make first contact. But he definitely never expected for things to go wrong. As his ship malfunctioned and plummeted off course to the Earth's surface, he hoped he wouldn't land in the middle of nowhere.
He didn't, but Holcomb was damn near the closest he could've gotten.

Appearance - Talis' natural form has grayish blue skin with neon green colored hair. He stands around 5'8 and has strange, orb-like eyes that nearly glow an odd blue color without pupils. His skin has no blemishes at all, almost too perfect.
With great concentration, Talis can shift into a more human looking appearance. He has a mess of brown hair that he doesn't bother to tame and his eyes appear a more of an emerald green as opposed to the sky blue. Of course, his height doesn't change at all and his skin is a more human color, but still suspiciously smooth and clear.
Personality - Talis has always been told that he thinks far too much. Perhaps he even overthinks. This doesn't prevent him from having fun though, as he can be easily excited over the most minor things. Being so far from home has made him a bit skittish, frightened by many things but never too scared to take on new challenges. He is much more of an introvert than an extrovert, but he loves a good laugh. Due to his alien upbringing, Talis can be a bit slow to pick up on human habits like sarcasm and is confused pretty easily. That doesn't mean he won't try his best to find out what he's missing out on.[/div] [div class=tabcontent3 style=display:none]
Talis is the only son of a fairly prominent research family on his home planet. Due to their manner of work, Talis had been exposed to human culture for as long as he could remember. He'd spent many long nights watching countless films and listening to their silly records. It was all so foreign to him, and yet he loved it. He begged his parents many many times to make contact, the Humans didn't seem to be too dangerous in his somewhat naive mind. Of course, they said no every single time he asked. Except for the time they didn't.
Talis was supposed to integrate into society in a large city, that way it'd be easier for him to blend in. His parents and other research panel members decided that it'd be best for him to go, as he had the most optimistic view of humans (as well as their population not being very large... they didn't have very many candidates). They prepared him for the journey through rigorous training, and showed him many times how to operate the ship. However, he didn't take their instructions seriously enough. He fell asleep behind the control panel of his tiny spaceship, not waking until he felt the entire thing shaking violently. His ship had gone off course and he was plummeting towards an unknown destination.
