Training (Dragon Lord & Firefly)

Lady Midnight

Ultimate Pun Queen
City 17
The doors to the transit parted to let the passengers out into the city. One passenger donning a black dress with black heels exited the train. Black shades hid the bags under her eyes. It had been a long day for Hitomi Nakashima, but she knew that it was far from over. The past two weeks had been an emotional roller coaster for the hero as she dealt with the aftermath of the android assault, her father's passing, and everything in between. As she looked around the city, she reflected on the events that led her here.

~ Two Weeks Ago ~

Hitomi sat on the edge of her hospital bed, waiting to be checked out. Thankfully she didn't have any huge bags of luggage seeing that she was rushed in right after her fight with Samuke. That being said, she really didn't have anyting to change into. She had burned almost all of her clothes off overexerting herself. Thankfully her mother had brought her a spare outfit so she was decent. A knock on the door brought her attention to a man who clearly wasn't a nurse. "Miss Nakashima?" Hitomi's brows furrowed as she frowned at the man. "I already informed the nurses that I didn't want to speak to any reporters." She spoke in such a stern tone that it made her surprised. The man held his hands up and chuckled nervously.

"Ah forgive me. I am not a reporter. I'm just a member of the Ryu Clan here to extend an invitation here to you on behalf of my leader. He told me to tell you that he hopes you're still as excited as you were before." Hitomi's eyes widened realizing who had sent the man. Her heart was suddenly flooded with guilt as she stared in the face of one of Dragon Lord's students. Firefly's words lumped in her throat not knowing whether to ask if he was ok or if he was sure he still wanted her. The student could sense Hitomi's inner discord just by her facial expression alone. "He seemed so sure that he didn't want that responsibility. What changed?" She couldn't help but to mutter her question. The student gave the young woman a small smile. "I am not one to question Master Ryuuji's decisions. You are more than welcome to ask him yourself if you come. I know that you are busy so I'll give you time to think on it. I hope we hear from you very soon." The student gave Hitomi a small bow before making his exit.

Hitomi was still stumped on what could have swayed the older hero to change his mind. The android fight was a part of it yes but why her? She didn't think that she could face the hero, but another part of her knew that she couldn't miss out on this chance. She had to become stronger in the name of those who didn't make it. She had to become stronger to protect those close to her. She pulled out her phone looking at a picture that she took of the festival of Jacob, Leo, and Goliath. Without thinking, Firefly stood up and ran through the halls until she caught up to the student.

"Tell Dragon Lord that I accept his invitation."

~Present day~
Her eyes scanned through the station, searching for her escort to Mizuchi Castle. She was relieved to find that her escort was none other than the student who had first visited her.
"I hope that your trip was a good one Miss Nakashima." Hitomi sighed, not used to any sort of formality. She had stayed silent during her father's funeral, but now she had her fill. "Please. Just call me Hitomi. And yes...the train ride here was quite serene." She thought back to her mother and godmother as they assured her that they would be able to handle any press that came there way. Leaving right after her father's funeral was the only way that she could slip under the radar. The student nodded lightly taking notice of her clothing, especially her heels. "Forgive me for being so forward, but do you have a change of shoes that you can change into. The walk to Mizuchi Castle is quite long and I wouldn't want you to feel any discomfort." Hitomi attempted to give him a small smile and waved his concern away.

"Don't worry about it. I'm used to being in heels all day so I'll be fine." He could do nothing but accept her words as they began their journey. By the time they reached the top, Hitomi stood barefoot in front of the place where she would be training. The student wasn't lying when he said it was a walk. Hitomi laid her eyes on the beautiful Mizuchi Castle and was awestruck. It made sense for Dragon Lord to live in such a place. Speaking of the senior hero, Hitomi felt a bit of anxiety building up knowing she couldn't hide from him now that she was here. The student continued to lead the hero into the castle and spoke to another student.

"Inform Master Ryuuji that I have returned with Miss Nakashima."
