Roles of Character


Town:


  • Bodyguard: You go around town, usually a different place each night, and protect whoever needs to be protected. Personalities are usually surly, stubborn and tough.
  • Doctor: You have your own medical shop set in town, of course, and can heal most wounds and illnesses unless badly burned. You’ll heal anyone in need and personalities are usually compassionate, loyal, and kind.
  • Sheriff: The sheriff works with a team of four (invest, mayor, and jailor) to capture the criminals. The sheriff goes around, investigating people, but really only to see if they’re suspicious or not. Personality is usually determined, attentive, and cautious.
  • Investigator: You’re pretty much the deputy and the sheriff’s right-hand man. If the sheriff thinks someone is suspicious, it’s your job to check up more background information on them (or anyone else in general). Personality is usually observant, open-minded, and calm.
  • Mayor: You have more power than the average townie and you’re the leader of the town, making sure everyone is safe (though no one is) and that the sheriff is doing his job. Ultimately, he chooses the criminal(s) final punishment and is the judge. Personality can sway if power goes to head.
  • Jailor: You work within the sheriff’s office and it is your job to look after the prisoners. Though the Mayor might condemn them, the jailor is the one to actually do the executing. With enough evidence, if the jailor finds the prisoner guilty without given trial, they may execute on spot without permission. Personality is usually obedient, rash, and deferential.
  • Lookout: You take up a position (or house) every night to watch what happens over the town, to see if you can spy any of the evildoers in action. Personality is usually peaceful, quiet, and watchful.
  • Escort: If someone (especially of high importance) is walking alone at night, they pay you to escort them safely back to their house. It’s your job, if attacked, to protect that person. Personality is usually faithful, courageous, and lively.
  • Vigilante: If you don’t like how the town is running and if you find someone guilty, you may kill them in your own hands, without a trial. Personality is usually hot-headed, defiant, and eminent.
  • Spy: You are paid to help out the town. Your job is to go to Mafia headquarters and spy on them, just be sure you don’t get caught. Personality is usually clever, careful, and attentive.
  • Medium: When the town needs you most, they come to you. You claim to be able to talk to dead people and sometimes the town comes to you in desperate times. Perhaps the dead victims know more about their killers. Personality is usually thoughtful, meditative, and open



Mafia:

  • Godfather: You are the leader of the Mafia and your word is law, everyone in the Mafia must obey and respect you. You give the orders for all that goes around. Personality is usually callous, power hungry, and cold.
  • Mafioso: You are the Godfather's right hand man and is the one that does all the killing (mostly) and will do the dirty work for the Godfather. Everyone follows your orders, second to the Godfather. Personality is usually obedient, aggressive, and crooked.
  • Janitor: You work with the Mafioso and is well his second-hand man. Though usually not the one that does the killing, you help him along. You help clean up the bodies and clear away the evidence. Personality is usually cooperative, not afraid to get dirty, and grim.
  • Consigliere: You're pretty much a combination of an investigator and a spy, but you work for the Mafia instead. You find out the Intel to plan your attacks. Personality is usually calculating, crafty, and witty.
  • Consort: You're almost like an escort but with an extra job. You'll get paid more if you actually have to distract somebody for the night. Personality is usually sneaky, sexual, and flirtatious.
  • Framer/Disguiser: Your job is to make sure that the Mafia doesn't get caught. You will do anything to make sure all Mafia members are safe. Your job is to frame someone innocent on the crime, even extending to plant false evidence against that person. This might include stealing the identity of the victim and disguising yourself as that victim instead, depending on the situation. Personality is usually deceptive, careful, and experienced
  • Blackmailer: If someone is threatening the Mafia or is trying to catch them, it is your job to silence them, in all means possible, as long as you don't kill them. Usually a threatening letter will do the job. Personality is usually imaginative, practical, and menacing.


Neutral:

  • Survivor: You live alone in the woods, on the outskirts of town. You don't care what happens to others as long as you stay alive and survive or as long as possible. Personality is usually a loner, paranoid, and skeptical.
  • Jester: You're an escaped mental patient that is confused and dazed. You don't want to harm others and are usually just a nuisance. Most have gone crazy enough and are dimly trying to commit suicide. Personalities vary.
  • Serial Killer: You want to kill everybody and just want to be left alone. Feeling that everybody is out to get you, you attack first. However, sometimes will work with other loners to enhance survival. Personalities vary though most are crazed and paranoid.
  • Arsonist: You are a lot like a Serial Killer, but are more in control of your mind but wants to kill everyone. However, you kill with fire instead. You can be crazy but usually has some sort of rational and "method to your madness." Personality is usually vengeful and has had some tragic event happen to them that made them this way.


Disclaimer: Just because I have a personality description, doesn't mean you have to use it, it's just a base/guideline of what it should be, though you can completely ignore it =)
