Thumon Ironarm. Use imagination for arm for now ;)

Name: Thumon Ironarm

Age: 125

Gender: Male

Race: Dwarf

Sexuality: Heterosexual

Position: King

Alignment: Racially Neutral- Unless it has to do with his kingdom, he does not pay much attention to what is going on. The worlds outside of his kingdom are no concern of his.

Height: 4' 0" and damned proud of that.

Weight: 150 lbs.

Hair: deep amber that rests upon his shoulders. A matching beard that flows to his belt.

Eyes: dark brown

General Appearance: A fit and muscular frame for a dwarf, Thumon has most of the classic features of a dwarf. Slightly large nose, thick brow, and a beard that covers his royalty armor that his is typically clad in. The only acception to this classic portrayal of the dwarven race, is the shiny metallic right arm. A wound from a battle long ago with the goblin armies, it is made of segmented sections of molded iron, with deep set runes up and down to give the arm mobility.

Racial Abilities: While not considered a master, Thumon is a decent enough runecrafter. He makes his own weapons and armor, and has enough knowledge to imbue them with rune of protections and durability. He also possess' great strength and endurance that is legendary among the dwarf clans, as is their ability to see in dim to low light, and their stubbornness.

Personality:

While much of Thumon follows the lines of generic dwarven culture, his personality is something of an enigma. Thumon is very passionate about his kingdom, striving to continue to grow and stretch all under the Underheart Mountains. He takes a great interest in the expanse of his kingdom, and tries to go about things without the need for violence if necessary. But if diplomacy fails then it he moves on to using the lethal force of his armies.

While not overly fond with meddling in the outside world, he does keep up with the current event. Should something begin to move in the direction of his own kingdom, he wants to know about it. He is not a dim witted stone head like many dwarf's, he is well educated and ponders his actions in great detail before beginning. But once he has set his mind on a goal, he will not waver from it. Good or bad, whatever the outcome he will stand true to what plan he has devised and not falter from it.

History:

The dwarves of The Underheart Mountains were once five separate clans that were at odds constantly, each named for the peak they lived within. Each clan laid claim to a peak, where each peak contained an abundance of wealth in one particular area. The Asura peak was home to the wealth of the mountains. Gold, silver, and gems flowed from the peak to give the Asura clans the wealthiest of the five clans. The Fold peaks had the greatest access to the sun and flat land, so the where the harvesters of the clans. Breeders of the Great Horned sheep, they provided that clans with food, livestock, and most of all, ale. The Lopt peaks where the oldest and some would argue the wisest of the clans. They brought forth the old religions and the ways of Runecrafting, many of the master crafters to this day of the Lopt clan, and are very proud of it. The Aldrnari peaks where the masters of the forge, taking the steel and gold mined from the Asura peaks, they created weapons, decor, armor, and anything else they could imagine from the bountiful riches of the earth. Their abilities with a forge won much respect from the other clans, but the Estfr clan was the one that held the most power. Having taken the highest of the peaks, the Estfr clan where the great traders of the mountains. They made sure that the good provided by the four other clans are traded equally and fairly among them, and any outside trade.

This was how the clans operated for thousands of years. The leadership of each clan accepted the terms between the groups and for a long time, there was peace and prosperity between the clans. Then, the clan leader of the Aldrnari died, and his son Gostok took control of the clan. Gostok began to push for a bigger share of the trade, and the Aldrnari began to grow restless consumed with the preaching that their hard work was being taken advantage of in the trade. It was not until Gostok lead the first raid on the Asura peak to take control of the supplies of precious materials.

A war between the clans did not break out, Aldrnari and Asura against the Fold and Lopt, leaving the Estfr in shambles having the resources nor was knowledge of battle, the clan divided between the opposing sides. Gostok rallied his troops for a push for Estfr peak, his goal to take the highest mountain and rule over the five clans with an iron fist. But one dwarf stood above the others on the opposing side. Thumon was a clan less dwarf that lived in the foothills of the great peaks. His father had been banished from the clans years past along with his family name, so his lead as a neutral leader for the side of Lopt and Fold. He was tactful and precise, and soon he returned the hills of Asura and Estfr to their proper owners. With the backing of four out of the five clans, Thumon pushed against Aldrnari and Gostok's forces. Within the great trading halls of Estfr, Thumon lead his forces against the Aldrnari forces, confronting Gostok once and for all. He slayed Gostok within those halls, and the battle came to an end, but not without a price. Gostok took Thumon's right arm in the battle, and the wound nearly cost Thumon his life. His strong will and perseverance saw him through to begin rebuilding the clans. But there was talk among the clan leaders that they could no longer live as five separate entities, and that they should follow one banner or else war would start once more. They elected Thumon to be their leader, and the first kingdom of the dwarves was erected under the Underheart Mountains.

Runecrafting

Runecrafting: Besides the dwarven craftsmanship that is known throughout the realms, the dwarves of the Underheart Kingdom are known as great runecrafters. Imbuing their constructs and gems with hand carved runes from the old tongue, they physically inlay magic into their work to create weapons, tools, and war machines with lasting effectiveness. Rune masters are few, as most dwarves wish to stray from the path of magic, but those who do study the art and craftsmanship are quite skilled.
