Terra Reynolds

Age: 17
Gender: Female
Sexuality : Bisexual
Tattoo: K-NV-613
{:-------------------------------------:}

Vices:
-Selfish
-Deceptive
-Doubtful

Virtues:
-Determined
-Tactful
-Creative
{:-------------------------------------:}

Personality:
Terra is not the most social person. She has trust issues when it comes to the others in the Compound; as there are a good number of kids who would sell out just about anyone if it made them think that it got them on the Black Cloaks' good side. Because of this, she's grown into the mentality that she should only act for herself, and only care about her own wellbeing. This has led to further issues with her personality, one of which is a habit of lying. Terra has become a compulsive liar and sees no problem with treating other people like puppets if need be.

On top of these, Terra is also extremely determined. When she sets her mind to something, she absolutely refuses--for better or for worse--to stop until the job is done. Due to her skepticism of everything in her environment, she had also picked up some social strategies. More often than not, she's able to figure out what the best thing to say is in any given situation. It doesn't exactly work with the Black Cloaks or the Gold Stripes, but it is most effective with her peers.
{:-------------------------------------:}

Theme song:

{:-------------------------------------:}
History:
She isn't too sure about who she was before the Compound. She can vaguely remember smiling faces and brightly colored images that seem like they shouldn't be able to exist in reality. Terra does know that, when she was first introduced to the Compound, it was like she had woken up from a long dream. Or that she was suddenly thrown into one, it was hard to tell. She didn't exactly pop up out of nowhere, it felt like she had lived there a long time; but it also felt like she should have been somewhere entirely different. That feeling stuck with her from the mysterious day one until now.

Terra did manage to make a few friends, despite her shyness towards the beginning. Those friends were slowly picked off, however. It was like she was cursed all of a sudden. Her friends were either dragged off by the Black Cloaks, or they managed to escape. A few even abandoned her by choice, their motives as to why were unknown. Maybe it was because they feared losing someone else? Or maybe they saw her as a curse as well.

Needless to say, she's sick of the Compound. She's sick of feeling off about her very existence. She's sick of the Black Cloaks. She's sick of the Culling. She's sick of everything. Even if it's just for a moment, Terra dreams of getting out of there. She has a secret hope that, if she does manage to escape, the strange feeling that constantly haunts her will go away.

Jacob Miller
[The Merchant]

Age : 19

Gender: Male

Sexuality: Straight/ Heterosexual

Tattoo: K-MI-302

Vices:
- Insensitive, Over-confident, Dishonest

Virtues:
- Intelligent, Determined, Optimistic

Personality:
On the outside, Jacob seems weak due to his physical stature, but this only makes him stronger. He's calculating, but always looks on the bright side of his predictions. When set a task, Jacob will try his best to execute it with either logic or brute force. Despite his resourcefulness and practicality, Jacob is not a peoples person. When pressured or nervous, he becomes a chronic liar and tries to twist the situation to favour him. He also distances himself from people who hold differing opinions to him, thinking that they're too stupid to see his point of view.

Jacob fears what he cannot predict, seeing that the coin could flip either way and potentially put him at a disadvantage. This leads him to failure, something else he hates. He believes that a single mistake in a dog eat dog world could mean death. However, he does enjoy games that require some thought or has a logical process to it. Jacob attributes most of his intelligence to reading at an early age and attempts to get hold of any literature in The Compound.

Theme song:

Hozier-Arsonist's Lullaby

History:

Like many children in The Compound, Jacob woke up leading against one of the four walls in a muddy field. His head stung as he craned it around to look at the unfamiliar tattoo on his arm. He knew how to speak, read and write, but that was pretty much it. After getting up and stumbling straight to the centre, everything got hazy.

Jacob's memory only really begins to straighten out a few days later. He stole and collected several souvenirs to trade with other children. He nicked belongings off the dead corpses that came back from The Culling. Bits of The Compound reminded him of a distant past life. The sound of metal hitting the ground brought him back to a warm kitchen. Only briefly. But what really reminded him of 'home' was print writing. The font of New Times Roman gave him a sense of nostalgia.

He came across a book and that's where his addiction to knowledge started. Maybe it was just the text that he liked but he was fascinated and wanted to know more. By collecting strange trinkets and selling them for old textbooks that somehow snuck their way into The Compound, Jacob learnt bit by bit of the outside world.

That's where his downfall began. He was surrounded and beaten daily by The Gold Stripes. They burnt his collection of novels in front of his eyes. Perhaps for attempting to gather knowledge to escape...or maybe he was just too curious for their liking. He forced onto building projects and manual labour, and then after a year, he was left alone.

Jacob continued to collect and sell, its how he got along with a few of the other kids. He was known as 'The Merchant' and welcomed the nickname warmly. But what he really was doing, was waiting. Waiting for winter, when daylight is short and the snow storm can hide him.. All he needs to do now is put together a willing group to help him survive the wilderness.

Luna Merritt
796d6f9cad85b5944043664c7070242f.jpg
Age: 18

Gender: Female

Sexuality: Heterosexual

Tattoo: K-TN-881

Vices: Selfish, Distrustful, Manipulative

Virtues: Stubborn, Patient, Courageous

Personality: Luna is a product of her environment. Her time in The Compound tore away at her, leaving only an empty shell of herself behind. Luna only cares about herself, and will put her survival over that of anyone else's. She convinced herself that the only person she can rely on to get her out of town is herself, and that anyone else will only get in the way, or should be held at arms length and treated with heavy suspicion. She's not above using others to get what she wants, even if that means using their empathy against them or bringing them down to her level.

She's brave, willing to dive straight into a situation when others would hesitate, and has a strong dislike for people who can't make decisions for themselves. Luna holds a special, hateful place in her heart for those in charge of The Compound, and is willing to do just about anything to see them taken down. She's terrified of dying.

Theme Song:

History: Luna knows that before she was take to the Compound she was happy. Her memory was hazy when she woke up, but she could still hear the sound of her brother's screams ringing in her head, and the feeling that she was missing something. She was never able to remember what he looked like, or what happened to him. The only thing she has left of him is a brown, leather jacket she was wearing when she got there. She hasn't worn it since that first day, keeping it hidden so that it wouldn't be found and burned.

At first, Luna never fit in with life at the Compound. She was too curious, asking other kids about their families and what they remembered. She made the mistake once of asking a Gold Stripe why they couldn't leave, and was almost beaten to death for it. Ever since, the other kids saw her as something of a 'pariah', and avoided her. She was considered too stupid to be around for asking the Gold Stripes anything, for somehow missing the daily beatings and killings. She was an easy target for the others, and was blamed for stealing rations, books, just about anything so those who did it wouldn't get in trouble. Eventually, this led to her receiving less rations than everyone else, and she was constantly watched and forced to work in the fields to atone for her "crimes".

Survival Item: 2 Matches
