Elani Afua Stevenson, Elani is Thomas' mother, a 5 Foot 11 Nigerian and half Afrikaner, after coming from South Africa to study to become a doctor in the Netherlands she married Thomas' father and moved to the US with him, when they divorced she remained in the US and became a naturalised American, eventually remarried and had his younger brother
