Look into my wonderful heart
Stay for a night, stay for a minute, leave as soon as you come
Whatever you do: don't rip me apart, don't lock the door, don't leave me worse than when you came
When you walk in, don't pay attention to the charred cabinets, don't pay attention to the molding walls, and don't pay attention to how the doors squeak
Please dont leave me alone, please dont leave my house of ruin, please dont set it all ablaze.

You said you would stay, stay longer than I thought
My heart has become your play place
I have become yours, so dont leave me be
Dont leave me hanging from the line.

You dangle the end of this dream in my face
When you go, please forgive me
When you go, please dont forget me
When you go, please say you love me
When you go, dont leave the doors and windows open.

Your saying goodbye
What was I expecting?
Something that would last?
Something that would matter?
Something you would like?
Something people loved?
Something I wouldn't remember with red-stained tears.

You are gone and I couldn’t be more lost
Have you left my home forever, or will you come running back tomorrow?
Should I come to you? You still hold my tether
Everything hurts, and I dont want to be alone
But the world tells me to leave, tells me to run from you, to cut that tether
I wont cut it just yet, but I won’t pull on it either.

Look into my wonderful heart, see how its changed
My heart is no longer yours, ive taken back the key
Its all cleaned up, ive done some repairs
When you come knocking at the door, notice how its locked
You no longer hold the key, so pack your stuff and leave.
