They Deserve It

with @DctrCat

A group of college students decided to go camping to celebrate the coming of Fall and the beginning of a school break. While out in the woods, scary legends of the woods about a red hooded spirit are passed around between the friends. Every one is happy to share the spooky stories even though each and avoid the their own past lives. Soon after, strange things start happening and group members go missing.

Now, lost in woods, the remaining member must do what they can to survive.

Now the question that remains...

Do they deserve it?

Taking in a large gulp of breath and releasing it slowly, Rose watched her breath turn white like a fog as it passed her lips. She would smile and watch her breath more, but she was to nervous this time to notice her favorite thing. Around her the trees were bare. Some of them, still stubborn against the oncoming season, held its multicolor leaves and gave a new sense of death and life to the land around her. Every season she would love to watch the leaves fall and the trees turn into something out of this world. Once again, she didn't notice like she used to. Her stomach was in twisting and turning knots with the idea of this weekend. Tasha, her best friend, had invited her to go camping with some of her friends this weekend. At first Rose was not for it and told her no, but then her friend had to tell her that Toby was going. It upset her that Tasha would use Toby against her but she knew Rose well. Rose had not been able to see Toby since he got his new girlfriend and also since he was not in the same class with her last semester. The moment Rose knew he was coming, she was ready for everything that was planned. This would be the weekend she could turn his head and make him see her and completely forget about the stupid girl that he was dating. She was sure for awhile that he liked Rose and she was more than sure that he wanted to go out, but then this girl came out of nowhere one day and was all over him. Hopefully the girl wasn't coming but Rose wouldn't bet on that.

Placing her hands in her pockets in hopes to warm them, Rose leaned against the back of her mothers old car and looked both ways down the street. She was told that someone would be coming to pick her. She prayed that it would be Tasha and that her friend wouldn't dare let her get picked up by another, but she was always unsure about what would happen.

--

Pulling around the corner, Adam did his best to keep his heart still. He had gotten a text from a random number this morning for him to pick up Rose at her house at a certain time. He tried texting back that he couldn't do it, but he never sent the message. He both loved and hated that he was having to do this.

The road was straight ahead of him and there were not many houses around. He figured that Rose would live out somewhere not very populated. He bet her parents were like her in the fact that she did not like being around others much. He could see how shy and kind she was and he loved it. He also wondered if this was just a prank by his friends. They all knew he liked Rose and maybe they were just saying she was out here when she wasn't. Maybe they were all at the meeting place laughing at him.

"Maybe I should...." Slowing the car, he sees her. Standing against an old beat up truck was a girl in a red hoodie jacket, black jeans and snow boots. From where he was, he could see her brown hair fall from the hood of her jacket and fall onto her chest. She was small girl but he never really noticed that. She really was there. He smiled and looked round this car to make sure it was clean. When he pulled up, Rose looked at the car and gave it an unsure look. Did she not know he was coming? He rolled down the window quickly.

"Get in before you freeze to death." Adam gave her a quirky smile leaned forward to push the door open for her.

--

Watching the car pull up, Rose gave it a strange look. She recognized the car but she could figure out who it belonged to. For a moment, she thought about turning about around and going back inside but when Adam rolled down the window and smiled at her, she had no choice but to smile back and get in.

She threw her bags into the back seat and sat next to him in the passenger side. The car was warm and she couldn't help but smile.

"Hey, thanks for picking me up. I didn't know it would be you." Rose held her hands to the air vents and did her best to warm them.

"It was my pleasure. I haven't seen you much since last semester." Adam gave her a shy smile and turned the car around to head to the meeting place.

They were both told that they would all leave their cars at the meeting place close by and then take Mad's van down the trail. After that, they were to hike and find a good camping spot in the middle of the woods. Mad said he found a good place to set up and planned on leading the way.

Looking around, Rose noticed something.

"Where's your sister? Isn't she usually with you?"

"Yeah but I had to leave early to drop by work, so she needed her own ride." He lied. He actually left super early in case his sister wanted a ride on the way to get Rose. He didn't want her here this time. "She'll be at the meeting place. Might be there already." He patted Rose on the head like he always did and she laughed softly and pushed it away.

"Excited?" He asked.

"Thrilled." She lied.

--

"Man oh man, this is fucking perfect!" Mad picked up stone from the ground and threw it in the air above him. As the stone came down, Mad used his bat and slammed that stone into a tree in the distance. He had been planning this trip forever and was excited to see everyone. Especially a few selected. He heard that a few more then he planned were coming, but he didn't care. All he cared about as having fun, partying and getting high as possible. It was going to be a perfect weekend.

At the moment, Mad was the only one who was at the meeting place. He decided to come early to set some things up and get everything in order. He had already found the campsite and had a few tents set up and ready. Now, he was just waiting for the others to arrive so that they could get the party started.

Man jumped up and down, warming himself and also jumping to the harsh music blowing his van speakers. His mouth moved to the words of the song as he picked up another stone and slammed it into the woods. He was about to do it again but the sound of a car pulling up made him turn and see who it was. Which idiot had arrived first?

--

Charlie pulled her car into a parking lot and sat there, looking out the window at Mad who was bouncing around like an idiot. She was ready for this weekend to be over but Mad had begged her to come. He even told her to come early. She should of left at the same time as the others but old habits die hard.

She watched as Mad bounced over to the car and stood at her window. He clicked the window over and over until she would come out. He knew it would annoy her, so he opened the door.

"Whats up?" He had a huge smile. His pierced lips and nose indented with his smile, like self made dimple. His hair was short, spiked at the tip and dirty brown. He also was covered almost with Tattoos. "Glad you could make it."

Charlie grabbed her bags from the back and stepped out. She passed him and kicked her door shut, making it slam away from his hands and almost shut on them. He howled at her and shook his hand as if he were really hurt.

"Ah, you don't need to be that way." Mad followed after her as she neared his Van. "I did this trip for you."

"Oh, is that so." She couldn't help but be sarcastic.

"Mmmhmm." Mad grabbed her bags and threw them to the ground. Charlie was about to snap at him but he made his move first and slammed her against the side of his Van. "Tisk risk Char. I thought you would be more pleased by us being alone." He held her wrist down as he leaned forward and started kissing her neck.

"Seriously? What about your girlfriend?" Charlie tried to push him away but he was stronger then her, and part of her didn't want to be pushed away. Mad use to secretly date her. When they first started going out, he was single. She was just a hook up when ever he was bored and they always ended up fucking when he came over to smoke. The he got himself a girlfriend and ignored her completely for awhile. She didn't care much about that. Charlie even found it nice for him to be gone. He was a control freak and had anger problems. She was glad that he wasn't her problem anymore. She thought everything was all and good till he started coming around again. He stated that his girlfriend was never enough and that he could only think of Charlie. She knew it was all lies but she fell for it. When ever his girlfriend was gone doing photo shoots or what every she did, he would come over, smoke and fuck. Each time made her feel worse and worse and he hated being denied something he wanted. After awhile, after almost getting caught, she ended it. Here and there through out the semester he would come over. But that was months ago since there last meeting. Guess it wasn't over.

"She'll be here later but I thought maybe we could go find a nice cozy bush and well...you know." He leaned back and had his normal devilish spark in his eye. It disgusted her. He disgusted her and she made herself sick that she couldn't stop. He turned her into a stupid whore.

Wanting to say something but not being able to, Mad started to feel her up and ran her hand up her leg. He started to lift her skirt which only made her burn inside and out. She wanted to stop but couldn't.

"Thats a good girl." He kissed her roughly and let her go. "Thats a little taste for later." He stepped back and laughed.

"You make me sick." He only shrugged at her comment and went back to hitting stones into the tree line.

A grey ute pulled up to the others cars, skidding slightly on the damp ground. Loud music played out of the car, and became clearer when the two doors opened up. Out stepped Toby and Tasha. The two beamed at the others as they took in their friends and the edge of the wood. It was chilly, and small flecks of snow fell gently on their shoulders and heads. Toby and Tasha were very similar people, but also quite different. Both were athletic, and quick to adapt to new challenges or skillsets. Tasha was loud and outgoing while Toby was a quieter person. Toby enjoyed music and played guitar, while Tasha preferred the chatter of people.

The two of them fetched their bags from the ute and shut the doors.

"Hey everyone, how are you guys?" Toby asked, his voice a little quieter than need be.

Tasha bounded up to the others, grinning. "How are you guys?! God it's been ages, training has been nuts. Time flies." She said, speaking quickly and louder than need be. Toby held his dufflebag over his shoulder; he was smiling. His quirk was his smile. One side sat slightly higher than the other, giving him an almost offsided smile. It was only slight, but people seemed to like it. Tasha and Toby looked quite out of place; both sunkissed and brown, they stuck out in the cold landscape they had stepped in to.

Toby locked his car, and put the keys into his bag.

"Are we waiting on anyone else? We passed Rose and Adam on the way here, they were getting fuel." He said, as he looked around at the forest. Snow covered the ground in a blanket that crunched when stood on. The wind was chilly and felt sharp on his face.

Tasha smiled at the other three. She had been at training camp for so long, she forgot what it was like to be around people that weren't in swimsuits. She looked a little odd herself; it was rare for the others to see her in full length clothing. She was usually wearing running shorts or her surf gear. Her thick jacket and beanie looked almost off, on her body.

She leant back against Toby's car and stared up at the sky. It was late afternoon, and the sun was giving the sky a fill of purples, orange and blues as it was beginning to set. It looked like something out of a magazine. She could feel the wind through her jacket despite her layers of clothing, and a small part of her wished she was back on the beach. She lived for warm air and the sand and water, she felt strange being back on regular dirt. She looked at the other three and smiled widely. Her smile was perfect; symmetrical and incredibly warm. She was beyond friendly, and it was rare for people to dislike her.

"Are we waiting on many more people? June is on her way, she picked Adalene up at the airport a little while ago. Rose and Adam shouldn't be long. Is there anyone else?" She asked. She was sure someone else was coming, but wasn't sure who. Surely they were taking a bigger group than this.

"June will be here pretty soon, she can be a little... over zealous with her driving." Toby said, smiling. Him and June were pretty different people, but they meshed well with each other.

A few minutes later, a lovely yellow convertible pulled up the to group. That car always looked brand new, Adalene took very good care of it. The two girls, June and Adalene, stepped out of the car and looked around. They quickly got their bags from the car and walked over to the others.

"Ello everyone. You are well?" Adalene asked. She always spoke with more of accent when she got back from work. June must've picked up Adalene's car from storage and used that to pick her up. It was rare for her to let someone else drive it. It was a good car; expensive, foreign and very to her taste. She was a fine girl; into the more expensive and luxurious things. She had just gotten back from Paris that afternoon. She had been at work for the past 2 months.

Non-stop makeup, catwalks and photoshoots had been the past few months of her life, and she missed it already. Any time not working as shopping or working on her blog. She worked hard, and often used others to get where she wanted to be. Her camera hung around her neck and looked as if it belonged there, she was rarely without it.

Adalene let her eyes wander over Mad. They had been dating for some time but, she had been thinking over their relationship. She wanted to work more, which involved more travel. She did not enjoy how needy and stubborn he got when she talked about work.

"Adalene, you look great!" Tasha said, genuinely. She always did envy Adalene a little bit for her travel.

"Oh - yes, thank you." Adalene replied, not really looking at Tasha. Adalene had a knack for looking through people, rather than at them. "Are we waiting on anyone else?"

Jumping back into the car, Adam put on his seat belt and looked over to Rose. She was sitting there look away from him and out the window. This was the first time he had ever gotten a chance to be alone with her but she looked like she was very unhappy.

"Umm, so what made you want to go on the trip?" Adam asked. His voice almost shook but he did his best to look calm. Rose turned away from the window and looked at him like he just appeared to him.

"What?" She asked quickly.

"What made you come on the trip? Who invited you?" Adam asked again.

"Oh, it was Tasha. She had been begging me for weeks to go the moment Mad came up with the idea. I still don't know why I said yes." She answered promptly, almost script like.

"If you didn't want to go, why did you?"

"Oh, I don't know. I have my reasons. I think I was tired of just sitting around and waiting for things to happen."

"Hmm, well, I am glad you came." He gave her a odd look before answered but smiled when she turned her head. He wondered what she meant by that. He had a feeling he knew what it was about but he didn't say anything. He knew Toby was going to be there. He didn't like Toby very much for the fact that he seemed to lead Rose around on a line but never do anything for her. She was clearly crazy for him but he only acted towards her like one would do to a not so close friend.

With his comment, Rose did smile for a moment. It looked real. Realer then anything he had seen on the whole trip.

--

"Hey baby!" Mad jump jumped off of a tree stub he climb on to hit rocks and wrapped his arm around Adalene. He hadn't seen her in some time and she was looked yummy. He kissed her check and turned to the others.

"You guys ready for a fucking awesome weekend?!" He was super energetic, like normal but this time he was really into what was about to happen. He was excited about the weekend, having everyone back together and few others. He jumped away from Adalene and gave Toby a huge pat on the back and ruffled his hair.

"Hey man, haven't seen you in ages. You never come around anymore. Guess your too busy with your girlfriend, huh?" He gave him a wink and nudged him with his shoulder. June walk up from behind, rolling her eyes at the two of them.

"Excuse me but I would like to say hi to my boyfriend." She gave Mad a smile and nudged her way in-between the two of them. Mad only laughed and ruffled her hair as well. She giggled and pushed him away.

"Nice to see you to June. Glad you could make it."

--

June placed an arm around Toby and lifted up on her toes to kiss him on the cheek. She hadn't seem him or a week or more, so it was nice to be able to spend some time with him. They would have their own tent and everything, so things would be nice this weekend.

--

Mad looked around at everyone and counted heads. He forgot to answer the question for Adalene and had to remember who was all coming.

"We are still missing Adam and his sister. Is she riding with him?"

Mad had no clue that rose was coming or anyone else. He was not the biggest fan of her and always considered her a goody two shoes. He had a feeling that she didn't like him much either since he always picked on her. She was tiny, quiet, and he felt that she saw herself better then everyone. It made him feel angry when she was around. She had perfect grades, didn't party or smoke, and would always give him/or anyone a grimace when they offered it to her. He knew Tasha would have invited her but knowing Rose, she properly said no.

--

Charlie stay over by Mads Van. She had lit a smoke and didn't want to be over there blowing it in their faces. She also need some time to collect herself before she faced everyone else.

--

Rose contined to look out the window as they got closer to the destination. She really wondered why it was Adam and not Tasha would was picking her up.

"Do you know who is all coming?" Rose asked as the sign to the park got closer. Her nerves were going crazy.

"Tasha, Mad, Adalene, Toby, June, my sis, and Charlie I think. I don't know if anyone else got invited."

"Charlie is going to be there?" Rose sounded surprised.

'Yeah. Mad invited her. You know her?" Adam asked as they pulled into the park area.

"Yeah, we had a class together. She was the only one nice to me."

Adam said nothing. He understood for while that Rose was bullied a lot. She was considered super pretty, she was smaller then most and she also had a hard time connecting with people. She lived her life in a book instead of living it. It was those thing that people picked on her for, that he loved.

"Well, she's here. Look." He pulled the car up into a parking spot and pointed towards Charlie. She was leaning against a Van smoking while everyone else was off to the side talking. The group made Roses stomach turn and some anger burn. She really didn't want to be here noting that most of the people here hated her, but she was hear because she was asked.

Together, but with Toby caring both their bags, they climbed out of his small car and made there way over to the group. He waved to everyone while Rose stayed a step behind with her head tilted down. When they made it to the group, she stood right next to Tasha and grabbed her hand. Holding it like normal.

Tasha ran towards Adam and Rose, and embraced each of them in a tight hug. Tasha had been talking and joking with the others, but was noe even happier that her best friend had arrived.

"How are you both? Gosh it's been such a busy day, training was hectic all day and it's so weird winding down! I came with Toby, he picked me up from the train station. We're nearly all here! We're waiting on Julie now I think, not sure if there's anyone else yet!" Tasha lead the two of them to the others, talking a mile a minute. She was clearly excited. Training had been tough and while it as weird not be training hard, it was nice to wind down a little bit.

She waved to the others and grinned. "Toby and Rose are here! I think only Julie now." She yelled as she came to the group.

Toby smiled at the two of them, and waved gently with his free hand. The other was holding June's.

"Hey guys, glad you made it. It was a weird trip, the roads made no sense." He talked to him, happy as could be. It was great seeing everyone, especially June as he had been busy with work and practice so much the last few weeks. He was a little worried however, he knew June was coming her own way but was nervous if she'd be mad he brought Tasha They'd been good friends for years now but, he never knew.

She tried to shake off the thoughts, and kept up with the conversation of the group.

"How are things going guys?" He asked, aiming it at everyone.

"Oh gosh, so good! I made finals for our beach triathlon in a few weeks, training is really gonna kick in son." Tasha replied, sitting on a small wooden bench.

"Oh, yes, quite good. I was offered a new contract but have not decided on it yet, and my blog has gone well." Adalene replied as well, not really looking at anyone in the group.

"Can't wait till we're all here, ready to get settled and actually sleep." Tasha said. She hadn't slept longer than 5 hours a night for a few weeks now, and her body felt it. It was a harder training regime than normal, and she could do with a proper 8 hours sleep.

Toby stood straight and moved his arm around June's shoulders and pulled her closer. "And you dear? Been so busy lately, work refused to let me have any time off. Really not sure why, we weren't busier than usual." He said, smiling at her.

A rumble off in the distance broke the quiet. It seemed to pierce through the quiet and the snow, scaring off a few birds from a fence. Minutes later, a white and grey motorbike pulled up closer to the cars. Two riders sat on back, both wearing helmets. The driver wore black tight jeans and a grey slouchy v-neck shirt, and a black jacket. The passenger on the back wore tights, a tartan patterned skirt and a snug denim jacket. The passenger, from her skirt, was obviously JUlie but, no clue as to the driver.

They got off the bike, and stood for a few minutes, talking. Julie had her backpack on her back, and the driver unclipped a satchel from the bike. The driver helped Julie take her helmet off, letting her bouncy hair fall out and sit around her small, cute yet almost plain face. She was a petite girl, from her age and some from just being a smaller person. Her gymnastics training helped to keep her slim as well. The driver removed their helmet and sat the two helmets on the bike, before the two of them walked over. Julie bounded ahead, smiling at the group. She hugged everyone, even pulling Adalene into a quick hug. It was hard to be frustrated with Julie. The driver stood a little away from the group. He was a familiar face after all; Alex Whitehall. Not quite who everyone expected to see.

Charlie watched everyone gather around more as she blew out her smoke. It was white but it looked similar to the air the people could see in the cold. She was about to was over to the group and join in but her phone started to vibrate in her pocket. Before pulling it out, she made sure to see if anyone was looking. Everyone was concentrated on talking and catching up with what has happened. No one payed attention to her.

Grabbing her phone, she gave it a quick look. It was a message. The top said Auto Message, meaning it was from a disclosed number. If she tried to call it, it would say it was no a number. She had gotten a few of those recently. She knew them all to well and knew that trying to text back or call back was pointless.

Red Riding Hood

Auto Message: It's time to start the game. Lets scramble the little wolves into the woods.

Charlie wanted to ignore the message but she knew she could just keep getting them until she did something. She looked around to see if anyone was messing with their phones while they talked but everyone was phone free.

--

Rose stayed quite and gladly listened to everyone talk. Every once and while she would peak past everyone and look at Charlie. She was just standing there smoking and looking at her phone. Rose watched as the girl shoved the phone back into her pocket and got ride of her smoke. Quickly, Rose look away and went back to what the group was talking about.

--

Mad stayed next to Adalene side while every one talked but little by little he started looking around him. It was going to get dark soon and they needed time to set up the rest of the stuff for the night.

--

June clung to her boyfriend as she kept an eye on Rose and Tasha. She did not like how close they were to Toby but when ever she would try and say something to him about it, he would protect them and tell her that they were just friends. She knew that Rose thought of Toby as more then friends and it annoyed her that she kept seeing Rose sneak glances at Toby while she thought no one was looking.

--

When his sister pulled up, Adam turned and his face turned a slightly red. He knew the guy, maybe not well, but knew him enough. He was a trouble maker and loved to fuck with people. Adam had told his sister on countless occasions to stay away from him but she never listen. Now he couldn't even believe that he was here with her. Knowing he didn't like the guy, his sister brought him for some odd reason.

Everyone fell silent as they watched the guy come up with Julie. Adam was about to tell him to shove off and that he was not invited but before he could take a step, everyone's phone went off at the same time. All except for the guys that was with his sister.

--

Everyone one got the same message.

Auto Message: Who fears the big bad wolf?

--

Rose took her phone out, watching everyone do so as well, and read the message out loud.

"Who here fears the big bad wold?" She looks up and clutches onto Tasha's shoulder, glaring at Mad. "Is this some kind of stupid joke?"

Mad hold up his hands in a gesture of innocence.

"Nah, it wasn't me.."

Adam looks at his phone and starts to text the number back. Charlie was already in the group and places a hand on his shoulder.

"No body bother messaging back or calling. It says Auto Message, so it came from a site or a no phone contact. I use to get messages like that from my ex. Its may be someone trying to scare us because of the woods we are going into." Charlie looks down at her message of the wolf statement and decided to ignore it, sliding her phone in her pocket.

Julie finished her hugs, and quickly slid her phone back into her bag. She was somewhat avoiding the gaze of her brother, knowing he likely had something to say about her guest. Julie stood by Rose, smiling, glancing at Charlie now and again. She hadn't quite told everyone that Alex was dropping her off, or that he was coming at all. She sort of invited him in a rush, not really listening to her own words. Alex was fun; he was a different kind of person to the theatre group she hung out with. He played music, did mechanic work, and he did archery as a hobby. She'd wanted to go but was nervous to ask. She was younger than him, and felt weird about him sometimes.

Julie stopped at Rose, smiling. She hadn't seen Rose for awhile.

"Hi Rose, how have you been?" She asked, looking up at Rose. Julie was small, a petite girl, but quite flexible due to her theatre training.

Adalene was busy with her camera, but found her eyes glancing upwards at the new boy every now and then. He didn't look like someone they'd be friends with; goody goody Rose and especially tiny Julie, who Adam made a habit of protecting. She found herself almost interested. The way he presented himself, from clothing to posture, reeked of mischief. He was quite good looking too, almost as if he'd stepped out of some alternative fashion shoot

She stood straight and went about taking photos of the group talking, as well as the area surrounding them. She began her way down the trail, towards the site, Julie following close behind. Tasha had noticed and followed as well. The trail was covered in snow, only really able to be made out by the coloured posts dotted along the dirt path. It was beginning to get dark, the colours had gone from the sky and now deep blues and greys filled the sky, dotted by slowly appearing stars.

Alex hung back, watching the group. He knew Adam and Rose already, but the others were either vague or unfamiliar to him. He hung his bag over his shoulder and walked over to where Rose and Adam stood, with Mad close by.

"Hope I'm not intruding. Julie invited me along." He said, with an ever so slight smirk towards Adam. He suspected that Adam wasn't a fan of his, going by how Julie had acted about asking him along. Alex nodded at Rose and Mad, and turned to find Toby and June watching him. Alex looked them both up and down, taking them in. Toby had an arm around June's shoulders, and the two had been chatting happily together. He walked past them slowly, glancing towards Charlie as he did. Bright pink hair, standing out quite shockingly in the white landscape. Alex smirked as he walked past her. She was someone he'd be okay with getting vloser to. "Not bad..." He said to himself as he wondered past her, maybe a little to loudly, and made his way after the others.

"Hello Julie. I have been good. Busy with school like everyone. I saw the last production you were in. Quite amazing. You have some talent." She gave Alex a king and accepting smile when she noticed that everyone was kind of giving him either weird or mean looks. "Hi Alex. Its good to see you." Rose was already out of her comfort zone just being here, so it was fine seeing a familiar face. She was happy to see Julie did decide to come alone as well. She use to remember seeing Julie and Adam attached at the hips but he was always the one who was protective of her. Walking along side Tasha, Rose kept glancing at Toby who was smiling and loving that fact that his girlfriend was all over him. She wanted to pull her hair out but that wouldn't be good for the trip or herself.

--

Adam, completely forgetting about the text, starting walking with the rest of the group. He started to walk slower so that he was behind everyone. He was glaring at Alex but he said nothing. He didn't want to piss is sister off and also embarrass himself in front of Rose. Rose knew and liked him pretty well, so Alex kept his mouth shut. Even though Rose didn't know it, Adam knew Rose pretty well. He knew she was very anti-social and had a hard time in a public setting but he knew that when she was around people she knew, it made her feel better. He didn't like Alex being here but he would have to get a word in to him later when no one else was around.

--

Mad noticed how Adalene took notice of Alex. He didn't like the boy to begin with and now he really didn't like him. Why was he even here? Julie never asked if he could come and this was something he set up personally for his own friends. He wanted to spend time with them and act like old times. Not worry about this dude and maybe his behavior. Mad did his best to ignore him and followed beside Adalene up the trail. Everyone else was following and chatting behind him, catching up and wondering how things were. He heard how Rose said hi to Alex and he was surprised that she would even take the time of day to acknowledge him.

--

Charlie kept a normal pace as she walked. She didn't really stand next to anyone but didn't really pull herself away. Mostly she was enjoying the scenery around her and the cool crisp air. Winter was her favorite time and it was nice that they were going camping in the beginning. She found it strange that Mad, someone who was more keep on partying then camping, came up with this. It only made things move more smoothly but it was still weird. Was he the one texting? She didn't think he would have the brain power to do pranks and stuff but she never knew.

Turning her head to watch the new guy walk by, she raised an eye brow at his comment. Did he mean for her to hear that? She watched him pass and did her best not stop and have everyone run into her. She planned on saying something but decided against it when she took him in. He was pretty hot. Maybe she could use him against Mad? They didn't seem to be keep of each other and she wasn't happy with Mad as well

--

Running ahead and turning off the trail, Mad raised his hand and waved for everyone to follow him.

"I set up camp off the trail, that way we don't have a chance of anyone bothering us or hearing us. The normal camping grounds here are boring and I thought that maybe we could have a place more...private." He wiggled his pierced eye brows at everyone and turned to go down the small and less noticed path. When he made it to the site he picked out, after a while of walking, he dropped his bag over by his tent already set up.

"Welome my friends!" He jumped into his tent and pulled out a several bottle of vodka and a bag filled with something green. "Lets get set up and party!"

--

Rose saw what was in Mads hands and she gave him a disgusted snort before pulling out her tent. She didn't know if she would be sharing with Tasha or not, but she hoped that she would be with her or alone.

Alex wondered by Rose, and leant down for a second as she was getting her tent out."I'm happy to share if you'd like, I promise not to bite too much." He said, grinning before hopping up again and wondering over to Julie. Julie turned to see him and smiled, it was the kind of smile she used to only really use with Adam. Alex set his bag down and began helping Julie and Adalene with their tents. Despite the cold wind, Alex began t feel too warm wearing his jacket while setting up the tents. He pulled the jacket off, and placed it with his bag before getting back to work. He was a thin man but, built at the same time, with tightly toned arms and shoulders. He was wearing a grey v-neck that sat just a little too tight around his shoulders.

Adalene helped move ropes and pegs, and passed things over to Alex when he asked. She found it hard to keep her eyes to herself, especially once the jacket came off. She looked at Julie; tiny, averagely pretty and really not very interesting, from what she knew. Though Alex seemed to work closer to Julie, and seemed to accidentally bump into her more often than seemed necessary for simply setting up tents. She watched the two of them chatter, and went back to her own tent. Alex had finished it before Julie's, and Adalene made her way in and began setting up her bed and bags. She hated tents, and had already told Mad if she came, they wouldn't be sharing.

She laid back on her mattress and shut her eyes. She was exhausted, she hadn't slept properly for months and was no stuck sleeping on a blow up mattress in a freezing tent. Maybe she could fake an emergency and go home. Maybe her Mum could 'die'. Maybe Mad could die after this stupid plan. Adalene laid there, eyes closed, and let herself relax.

Julie worked with Alex, until her tent was finished. The two of them wondered over to the others, and sat by Rose and Adam, who were setting up their own tents. Julie looked around and counted the tents, she hadn't even thought! 'Oh Alex, there's not enough tents! I'm so sorry, I didn't even realise. I'm sure we can work something out." She said, her voice worried. She hadn't meant to seem rude to Alex, god damn she'd already messed up!

Alex looked at Adam from the corner of his eye, and then at Julie. He smiled, almost kindly, and spoke. "Don't worry about it - we can always share." He spoke loud enough, hoping Adam would hear. He looked to the side at Charlie, as she looked up, and winked at her quickly before looking back to Julie. "I heard about your placement too. Well done, getting lead in your next show." He said, smiling at her again.

Julie blushed, and smiled back at him. "Thanks! I had totally forgotten, I'm really excited, it's a hard performance."

She watched Alex, smiling still, before looking around at everyone else. She saw Alex pull his jacket back on from the corner of her eye, and was glad he hadn't let himself stay cold for too long. He was fairly stubborn at times.

Tasha had put her bags down next to Rose's, and set about helping her set up. "We can do my tent next, unless you wanna share tonight. I can always do mine tomorrow when we have more light. " She said to Rose. Tasha always stepped in to help, but knew Rose may like some time to herself. She was glad Rose had come at all, and didn't want to push her at all, making her uncomfortable.

Rose rolled her eyes at Axel. "Haha, so funny." She joked. She knew Alex was joking and was fine with it. She had no interest in him and she was use to that kind of banter from most men. It was like normal thing for him. She continued setting up her tent and was more then happy to have Tasha's help.

"We can set up yours next. My tent is a bit small." Rose joked. Honestly she had a day dream that she would be able have her own tent and then suddenly Toby would suddenly want to be with her and climb into her tent for the night. She was still technically a virgin, so she had stupid fantasies about it all the time without really knowing to much. She would imagine it like it was some sort of epic romance novel. It would never happen but she hopes.

"Even though...even thought I am not use to it. Thank you for inviting me out Tasha. I hope this will be a fun trip for everyone." She smiled at her and continued working on the tent and then on Tasha's.

--

The moment Adam heard Alex say he would share with Julie, he immediately walked over and placed an arm over Alex's shoulder.

"No, how about you bunk with me? Hmmm? Guys and stick with guys and girls can stick with girls." He tried his best to plaster on a nice smile in hope that Alex would stop with the drama but everyone could tell he was annoyed. He didn't like how he spoke to Rose or his sister.

--

Charlie watched from her tent, which she had come early to already set up and laughed. The scene before her was great and she wanted nothing more but for it to play out. She watched for a moment as Mad came from his tent and kept his eye on Alex. She could tell by his glare that he was getting angry. He could easily explode and no body wanted that. She also caught the few glances from Alex and decided thats she should say something.

"How about he stays with me?" She push Adam aside in hopes to defuse the situation and stand in front of Alex, cig in her mouth as she looked him up and down.

"Think you can keep me warm tonight? I think everyone has a tent buddy but me."

--

June watched the situation play out as she helped Toby set up their tent. She would be sharing a tent with him so they could have some very needed alone time.

'Why does everyone have to act so stupid?" She asked Toby as she turned away from the group. She loved how Toby was different form them. It was refreshing.

--

Mad watched Charlie settle the situation and he felt something inside of him stir more. Why did she need to share a tent with him as well? Why couldn't he just leave. Pissed and jealous, Mad went into Adalene's tent and yelled out to scare her, jump on top of her and kiss her.

"So, you never said if you missed me baby." He was more then annoyed that she wanted her own tent but he felt that it was better in the long run. She wouldn't have to sneak to much if she didn't share a tent. "Why don't you and mean go sneak into the woods and let these fools figure shit out themselves, hmm?" He gave her a kiss on the neck and waited for her response.

Alex looked from Adam to Julie, then to Charlie. He was enjoying himself. He stood up, and made his way over to Charlie's tent, putting his bag inside. He wasn't set on getting with anyone, if it happened it was a bonus, he just liked stirring the pot. He pulled a small flashlight and cigarette pack from his bag, and came back out. "Sounds lovely Charlie dear, I'll try my best." He said, walking past her. He made a circle around her, smiling. "I'll keep you safe from this big bad wolf, whoever it might be.." He said, with a grin before walking off. He made his way in to the treeline, turning his flashlight on. He wandered around the woods until he found an alright spot to sit and light up a smoke. He breathed in as he held his lighter up to the end of the cigarette, and flicked it on. First try, and the cigarette took the fire and he was able to take a deep breath in.

He leant back, smirking. He was already having fun.

Julie stared at Adam, her mouth slightly agape. "Adam, what are you doing?!" She half yelled, standing up. "You're embarrassing me! Alex is just joking around, leave him alone!" She half yelled again, before climbing over the log she was sitting on and walking off, following Alex into the woods. She slowed once she was out of sight of the others and took a deep breath in. She had started crying, her eyes wet and hot as she wandered into the trees.

Adam was being so stupid. Alex was a good friend of hers and Adam was ruining it. She wanted to be friends with Alex, she liked him a lot. Only as friends though, right? He was just being stupid anyway, she wasn't his type at all. Thinking about it, Charlie probably was his type more than she was.

Julie sat on a rock and sat her face in her hands. What she thinking, bringing Alex here? Especially with Charlie around. She liked Charlie a lot, maybe in a different way to Alex, but there was no way she could say anything about it. Adam would freak out and Charlie would just laugh at her.

Charlie liked tough guys, not small girls. Charlie had offered her tent, of course she was just helping to settle everyone down, right? Course she was. Good work Charlie.

Toby gave June a kiss on her nose and smiled at her. "Hey hun, I'll be back in a second." He squeezed her tight, before going over to Adam and Rose. He stood next to Rose, giving a look at Julie as she rushed past him. He turned to Rose and gave her a weak smile.

"Do you think she'll be alright? I didn't know she was friends with... well, him." He said, he hadn't seen Alex since school, and that was just seeing him around. He knew the guys history though. His mind slipped from Julie to June, and he smiled brighter. He hadn't seen her in ages, and it was so nice to be with her.

He had brought a present for her; a small pendant in the shape of a four leaf clover. He had it all ready in a wrapped box to give to her, probably later on in the night. He smiled at the image he had of him handing her the box, and her face as she opened it. God he hoped she didn't think it was stupid.

"Maybe I'm the big bad wolf you should be worrying about?" Charlie joke and tilted her head. He seemed fun but she couldn't see his motive in being here. What was he playing at? With everything about to go on, she didn't care really but him being here worried her that the plans wouldn't go like she thought. Maybe he was the one texting her? It would make sense, since no one liked him really but a few people. He seemed like the kind to set up the pranks. She would know soon enough who it was. After the camp fire gathering, everything would set in motion.

Watching him walk away and then see Julie explode at Adam, Charlie started to feel a bit bad. She was glad to defuse the situation but maybe that was not what Julie wanted. She did bring him. Where they going out? That wouldn't explain him so easily saying yes to sharing a tent with her.

Getting up and setting on her cigarette, Charlie set out after Julie. She could bet Alex could handle himself but Julie worried her with her being in the now darkening woods.

--

Rose looked up from where she was sitting at the edge of her tent with Adam and blushed as Toby walked up to her. She could see June glowing with anger in the background and watching them and it only made Rose feel happier. That girl didn't deserve Toby.

"Looks like Charlie is going to check on her. You guys shouldn't be so hard on him, maybe he is one of those guys who wants to connect but can't." She looked at both Adam and Toby. Toby didn't really need to hear this but Adam did. He still looked angry from the situation. "Kind of like Mad. Remember what he was like when we first met him...though maybe Mad is not the best answer." Adam didn't say anything. He hand a stick in his hand and was poking at the dirt and looking up a few times in the direction that Julie and Charlie went. Rose didn't want to bug him anymore so she got up and stood in front of Toby.

"So, happy to see you girlfriend? She seems thrilled to see you." Rose did her best fake smile to Toby.

--

"Julie? Julie...." Charlie used her lighter to make things brighter for her as she walk through the forest. She was sure she was going in the right direction but as she got further in, she started to loose her sense of direction. "Julie?!" She called out. She was about to turn around and head back to camp to get a flashlight but when she heard the sobs coming from further in, she followed and found Julie crying.

"Hey hey, why you crying?" She crouched in front of Julie and placed a hand on her shoulder. "If it bothers you that Alex is sleeping in my tent, you can switch with him? Let him have your tent and you can sleep in mine with me? Sound fair? If he's your boyfriend or something, I don't want to come in between you. I was just trying to defuse the situation."

Charlie had honestly no clue what was going on between them but it seemed like they were together...except for the flirts from Alex.

Toby smiled again at Rose. "Very happy, work has been non stop over the holidays so it's nice to actually see her for more than a few hours at a time. I've booked a week off near Christmas, gonna see if she'd like to go away somewhere together." He spoke to Rose, friendly as ever. He was great friends with Rose, and felt a little pang of guilt when they spoke, he hadn't been able to see her much because of work and training. She always assured him it was fine though.

He waved to her as he made his way back to June, and in a great step moved forward, wrapped his arms around her and picked her up, spinning in a tiny circle. He put her back down on the floor, and wandered off to help Mad with setting up final pieces.

Julie stared at Charlie, unable to speak or breathe for what felt like hours. Finally she was able to swallow a breath of air and very nervously answer Charlie. "I um, well no we're not, he's just joking around. I wouldn't wanna make you uncomfortable at all. Like, idunno how you'd be sharing with...uh, me." She'd nearly sad it. Sharing with a girl. She didn't want to insult Charlie, dammit, she was nervous! "I mean if... if you like Alex that's fine. It's you know, up to you." Stupid Alex. Julie thought to herself. You should like me! Me! She yelled at Charlie in her head. Julie had only dated once before, for a few months. She had never done anything physical, but was having all kinds of thoughts at the moment. Good lord would her mind shut up for a second.

She kept her eyes down, and her hands sat in her lap, fiddling with each other. She hadn't been alone with Charlie before. It felt like her heart would come out of her throat at any moment.

Roughly 5 minutes later, Adalene came out of her tent to see a bonfire had seen set up in the middle of the camp, and was roaring away brightly in the night. It made the campsite toasty, and had gotten rid of the darkness that clouded the area. She smiled at the fire and sat by it, smiling over at Mad. She quickly moved and sat next to him, cuddling up to him. "I apologise dear, my plane trip was longer than planned and I was simply exhausted after my day, a proper rest has helped me wonders. Lots more energy, perhaps we shall be able to sneak off for a tad bit later." She said, whispering the last part. She gave him a grin, and rested into his side, looking into the fire.

She watched as Alex made his way back, sitting by the fire as well. She gave a small shrug and cuddled up closer to Mad. She had missed him, sometimes it just took awhile for her brain to catch up to everything.

"I bet she'll love it." That was the only thing Rose could say. She held a smile on her face as she watched him walk away to June and then to Mad. The moment she was out of sight, her smile disappeared and she looked down into her hand. The stick she was poking around in the dirt with, was crushed in her hand. She had clenched her fist the whole time he stood there and she didn't even realize. Her hand was bleeding a bit from where some of the pieces had stuck into her skin. Without any flenching of pain or care, she removed the pieces and cleaned her hand off with a water bottle.

With her tent close enough to the fire and group, she could get some warmth from it without really having to sit with anyone by the fire. So, instead, she took out her book and buried herself under a ton of blankets. She laid on her back with the tent open and held her book above her, reading and doing her best to ignore everyone at the fire.

--

June laughed as Toby spun her around. She had a feeling that this was going to be a lovely trip and she was so happy to be apart of it. She did believe if Tasha and Rose were gone, it would be ten times better but she did her best to try and be happy with what she had.

Grabbing a blanket and going to the now blazing fire, she wrapped herself in it and sat next to Toby. Thanks to Toby, Mad was able to finished everything and have the fire burning hot. It warmed her and she poked at the flames with a long stick. Almost everyone was sitting around the fire. Charlie and Julie seemed to be the only ones missing. Rose was reading in her tent, so June was happy that the stupid girl decided to stay away from the group.

--

"You can stay with me tonight and Alex can sleep alone. He's hot but a little to cocky for my tastes. So I think I would be more comfortable with you next to me then some guy I don't know to well." Charlie ruffled Julie's hair and smiled at her. "So how about we go back to camp and warm up. I bet Mad is dying to tell some ghost stories or something like that." Taking Julie's hand, Charlie led her out of the forest without giving her much of a choice. It worried Charlie being out in the woods alone, especially since Charlie didn't know when things were about to start.

"Though maybe you shouldn't worry about Alex and worry more about me." Charlie joked as she wiggled her pink eye brows at her. She was hoping to lighten the mood for Julie so she didn't seem to sad when they got back to camp.

Coming out of the woods, Charlie sat down in front of the fire and patted the ground for Julie to sit next to her. Mad was passing out beers and Charlie was more then happy to have one of those. She wasn't really much of a beer drinker but she felt it was better to start off with this.

"Hey Alex, change of plan. You gonna have to keep yourself warm tonight. Julie staying with me. Girls stick together, you know?" She smiled at Alex and Julie before taking a drink.

--

"Well Julie, looks like you get to share a tent with the pink haired danger. Better watch out, she bites in her sleep." Mad laughed at his own joke as Charlie snorted at the stupid comment and tossed a rock at him.

"Don't scare her. " She smiled and took another drink.

"Speaking of scare..."

"Here we go.." June rolls her eyes, knowing where this was going.

"So I bet your wondering why I took everyone this far out into the woods." Mad held Adalene close but used one hand to motion at his story.

"Because your an idiot?" Rose breathed but everyone could still hear her. A few laughed but Mad just glared at her for a moment.

"Anyway. There is a legend that these woods are haunted. They say a spirit who hides her face behind a red cloak haunts these parts and kills those who trespass on her land. A long time ago, a family build a large house into these woods. A women, her husband, their maid and kids lived here and took care of area. One day the woman come home and found her husband sleeping with the maid. So, she took their gun and shot them both. Out of anger and fear, she killed her kids and herself. They say the house is still here in theses woods but no one dares to enter it. Any who enter never come out."

June sat there, clutching onto Toby. She hated scary stories and didn't like this one.

"I also heard that the spirit hates those who have cheated in their lives but she hates males the most. If you enter these woods and you have committed adultery, she will take you life and collect your soul. If you wish to take the lover of another, she will kill you to because she believes that is as bad as the crime." Mad laughs crazily and throws some dust into the fire, making it jump up and crackle. June yelped in fear and hid her face in Toby's arm.

Mad laughed at her reaction and clapped his hands.

"Its all a story though. I'm pretty sure Mad made up half of it himself."

Rose commented from the spot she was laying at but didn't bother to look away from her book.

"No, its true! I'v seen her!" Mad snaps back.

"Oh really. You've seen the ghost. When?" Rose placed her book down and rolled over.

"The other day when I was setting up camp. I saw her in the tree line. It was a woman in a bright red cloak. I saw her out of the corner of my eye and when I turned to look, she was gone. She knows we are here." Mad tries again with the scary tone but gets annoyed when he hears Rose snorts.

Jumping up and walking over to her tent, Mad flairs at her.

"What the hell is your problem? If you don't like the story, then shut your mouth."

Rose stood from her spot and got out of her tent.

"I have to hear the bullshit so I think I can open my mouth if I want to. Sorry to hand it to you but you can't boss me around like you do with all the girls you fuck." She snapped back.

Getting angry, Mad lifted his hands and pushed Rose hard. She let out a small yelp as she fell into her tent.

"You need to shut your fucking mouth!"

Adam jump up from his spot and got in between Mad and Rose who was still on the ground.

"Dude, calm down. You can't just go pushing girls. Your better then that."

Mad turned his anger to Adam. "Why you protecting her? You think this goody two shoes is gonna suck you dick just because you act like her knight in shinning armor. Why don't you turn your attention to someone worth it."

"Hey dude, come on. This is uncalled for. Is this really how you want you get together to be?" Adam kept calm, even with Mads outburst. "Leave Rose alone and try to enjoy the night. Be cool bro." Adam held up his hands to show a truce.

"Fine, but just know that I didn't want that little bitch here. Understood? Keep her away from me." Mad turned and went to his tent, ignoring everyone.

Toby pulled June closer in to him, shooting a glare at Mad. He wanted a nice night with June not having to worry about her jumping at sounds later in the night. It was already late, and no one had really eaten yet. He kissed June and got up from their seat, pulling the blanket back around her. He grabbed a bag near their tent and brought it over to the fire. He went back to the tent, and looked around then realised what they'd done. Left the esky up at the cars. Bugger.

"Hey guys, I'll be back soon. Our esky with the cold food is up at the cars. Won't be long, then tasty sausages and such for all of us." He gave everyone a wave, hopped over a log and started his trek back up to the where the cars were parked.

The walk took awhile, especially in the dark, despite having a torch. Toby thought to himself as he walked, about June and the future. They both worked, and both were in their 20's now. He was thinking of asking June if she'd wanna find their own place together, just a nice place to rent together while they studied and worked, then maybe they could move away towards the bigger cities in a year or two. Would she want to though? Would she want to leave family and friends?

Finally, he found himself at the carpark. He wandered over to Mad's car and found their esky on the ground beside it. He sat on the esky for a minute, he'd rest then carry it back.

Julie sat beside Charlie, seemingly calm and smiling; her insides were a mess. She was going to... share a tent, with Charlie. Why was she so nervous, Charlie was just being polite and helping to keep everyone calm. Course Charlie was, she was good like when she needed to be. She looked over the fire t see Alex had wandered off, unsure where he had gone exactly. She was starting to feel uneasy about having invited him. He seemed to be the cause of all the drama so far, she hadn't meant it to happen, she just wanted to have a friend to invite. It was... also, a stab at her brother she supposed. He always felt like he needed to approve her friends, and had always been unhappy of any male friends. So she had made with friends the very male he always worried about. It hadn't been on purpose, she had only realised a few weeks ago.

She stared at the fire as it roared in the stone circle Mad and Toby had made around it, and let herself think. Alex was just being Alex, she knew what he was like, she hadn't realised at first who he was. She certainly figured it out after a bit but, he was fun to be around. She looked around at everyone at the fire, her eyes settling on Adam. She glared and turned back to the fire. She wasn't in the mood for him right now.

Adalene watched the fire as well, seeing Alex quietly leave the group and wander on off on his own. She was curious about where he was going, figuring he just needed a smoke. She was feeling warm from the fire and drinks, and was finally feeling more relaxed. She wasn't going to let her weekend be ruined.

Tasha was sitting with her back against a log, close to the fire. She much preferred the heat of the fire and the light to the gloomy cold on the outside of their campsite. She had a vague idea of Alex but, was glad that Julie had felt comfortable enough to invite a friend. She suspected Adam had persuaded her to come along, as a way of keeping on her on the weekend. He never really liked being away from her. Tasha had always found it annoying how he tried to invite Julie along so much; she was an only child and hated any time her parents tried to over see her, and couldn't imagine how suffocated Julie felt.

Her eyes moved over to Rose and Adam sitting together; Tasha suspected Adam having feelings for Rose but had no solid evidence of it, she doubted he'd make any kind of move if he did. She watched as Alex left the group, wondering where he was wondering off to.

Julie had the idea in her head, and it sounded so much better than ever before now. If Adam was going to act like she was always untrustworthy and needing watching, maybe she'd finally act like it.

Rose sat there with Adam and did best to keep her emotions under control. She was extremely angry but she wasn't like Mad in the way she displayed her emotions. She was upset over the fact that Adam was the only person who came to protect her. Even her best friend who wanted her to come sat there and said nothing. But this was normal for everyone. Rose was always being bullied or was use to being left alone to deal with stuff. And this wasn't the first time Mad had physically done something to her. Before she was friends with anyone in the group, he use to bully her and push her around. It wasn't until she gain more friends in the group that he stopped but he still did it from time to time. They never got along. She hated him and how stupid he was and he hated because she was smarter then him. She was smarter then them all. Rose almost glowed in her anger but not wanting to tip the scale and make Adam worry, she took a few deep breaths and laid back in her tent.

"Thanks for protecting me back there. I guess I went to far..." Rose leaned her legs against Adams shoulder and closed her eyes. Little by little she was able to stop her emotion and focus not he fact that things would be better once the camp trip was over. She could go back and things would be better for her.

--

Adam stiffened when he felt her legs shift and lean against him. It was the furtherest thing from an advancement but it felt nice to be there next to her. Maybe he would finally tell her how he felt. Ask her out. She was very non-social person, so he didn't know how she would take him asking her out but maybe she would get a clue and understand that Toby was an ass and didn't care about her or her clear feelings. All he thought about was June.

After thinking about Toby, Adam looked around for a moment and noticed that he had been gone for awhile. So had Alex. It wasn't good for anyone to be out there and alone when it was this cold and this dark. Also Toby had their food, so it would suck if he went missing or left.

"Hey, Toby has been gone for while. Lets go see if he needs help getting the food."

Rose nodded and allowed Adam to help her get up our of her open tent.

"Hey everyone, we're going to see if Toby needs help getting the food." Adam called out to the rest of the camp.

--

June gave him a startled look and was about to follow after them but she realized that maybe Adam wanted some alone time with Rose. She watched and went against every feeling she had to go with them so she could see if Toby was okay and to make sure Rose didn't make a move on him. She figured it would safe since Adam would be with them and June knew that Rose would never make a move or say anything to Toby with Adam there. So, instead of going with her gut, she sat wrapped in the blanket and watched the fire.

--

Mad came back out of his tent once Rose and Adam were gone, clearly calmed down, and sat next to his girlfriend. He had brought out a blanket and placed it over Adalene's shoulders, making sure she was warm. He noticed that she had already had a few drinks and smirked.

"Want to move into the warm tent while we wait for food. I can get really heated in there." He leaned towards her and kissed her neck. As he did, he side glanced over to Charlie, making sure she was watching. She was.

--

Seeing the display of gross affection from Mad, Charlie got up and stretched.

"I ate before I got here, so I think I'm going to hit the tent. Lots of exploring and adventures for tomorrow, need my beauty sleep." She reached her hands into the sky as she stretched and let out a fake yawn. Charlie then looked down to Julie.

"Come in the tent when ever your ready. Don't worry about bothering me." She smiled at Julie and want off to the tent.

--

Rose and Adam walked silently in the dark. His nerves were shot but he needed to do this. He really didn't give a rats ass about the food or Toby and wouldn't really care if a bear got him. He just wanted the chance to be alone with Rose. He had the prime chance in the car on the way here but her feeling over camping made him not say anything. Now that he was here at the camp with her, he felt it was now or never.

They were getting closer and closer to the where they trail ended with the cars. He didn't know the area to well, so he didn't know he was by them and in hearing distance of the cars and Toby.

"Hey, can we stop for a second?" Adam grabbed Roses arm, stopping her from walking forward. She looked down at his hand and then back at him. She said nothing and her expression was blank.

"Can we talk?" He asked.

"Arn't we talking already?" Her voice was almost monotone.

"Well...yeah but I meant about something." Her response suddenly made him nervous. He forgot out blunt she was for a moment. She still said nothing. "I like you...a lot. I have for awhile. I know you don't have feelings for me really but I think if you gave me a chance, you would." He let go of her arms and waited for her response.

"No." She simple said.

"No?" He was stunned.

"No. You are asking me out and I am saying no. I like someone else and..."

"You think he is every going to see you?!" He snapped. "Toby will never see you! He will only see June. Why can't you understand that?! How long do you have to follow him around like a lost puppy to understand he will never care about you or like you! I see you! I always have! I have always been there of you while he has lead you around with false hope."

Cigarette in hand, Alex stumbled upon Rose and Adam during their conversation. He stood back, watching. He heard the firm, monotone 'No.' come from Rose's mouth, and heard Adam repeat it as a question. A smile crept along Alex's lips as he started walking closer to them. His feet crunched in the snow, and soon he had come up to them.

"My my, trouble in paradise Adam? Sure didn't go the way you planned.' He said, his voice almost taunting. He walked between them, carrying on up the path. "Maybe you can give that wasted attention back to your sister. Seems someone else has an interest in her now. It'll be fun to see who she picks." He called back, giving a wave with his hand holding his cigarette. He let go, the cigarette landing in the snow with a hiss. He made his way to the cars, seeing a few patches of blood in the snow. He raised an eyebrow, following them til he came to Toby kneeling in the snow.

"''Sup buddy?" He asked, standing next to Toby, who looked up at him.

"Fucking wildlife man." He said, standing slowly. He groaned and looked at his bleeding leg. Something had scratched his leg trough his jeans. "SOme little monster badger or something wanted to get in the esky, didn't like me spooking it. Gimme a hand with this could ya?' Toby wasn't really sure what Alex would say to him asking for help. He expected laughter and taunting but, Alex shrugged before gripping the handles of the esky and lifting it. He gave Toby a nod and the two of them set back down the path, towards camp. A few moments later, and they came back to Rose and Adam. Alex couldn't help himself, he smirked.

Julie sat against the log and kept her eyes on the fire. She would join Charlie in a little bit, once she had thought things over. Who would annoy Adam the most? He obviously didn't like Alex, but she didn't think Alex would be too difficult to convince. If she managed with Charlie, it meant that Julie would have had to do the convincing. Could she do that, could she be seductive? What did that even involve. She nodded, told Mad and Adalene she'd be back in a moment and raced off up the trail.

She found Adam, Rose, Toby and Alex standing on the path. She stopped at Alex, whispered in his ear and his smile spread into a grin. His eyes almost shimmered in the light from Toby's torch. Julie nodded, raced back to the camp and stood in front of her and Charlie's tent. She breathed in a few times, before climbing into the tent.

Adalene smiled at Mad and leaned into him. "Tonight dear, how about we just rest? We can just enjoy some time together. I have missed you so." She said, closing her eyes. It was true, she did enjoy his company. He was loud, easily angered and stubborn but he could be incredibly wonderful to her.

She enjoyed his company, and the warmth and light of the fire. She was beginning to enjoy the weekend

Alex nodded at the other two as they approached, still grinning.

Adam watched Alex walk thought.

"You..." He kept his mouth shut and watched him drop his smoke and walk away. He wanted so bad to grab the back of the shirt and throw him down but he didn't want to act like that in front of Rose. So, he kept his cool and waited for Alex to disappear towards the car.

"Look, please give it some..." Before he could finished. Alex and Toby came up from the car area. Toby was clearly hurt and Alex was helping him. Coukdnt he have one moment alone to talk to Rose? And now Toby was here and that would ruin everything.

"You okay To..." Then it had to get worse. Julie came out of no where, whispered to Alex and then ran off.

"What the fuck is going on!?" Adam snapped. He was tired of all this backward shit. Everyone was just playing everyone and it was pissing him off.

"I'm going back to camp. Adam stay with them and help them get the things up so Alex doesn't have to carry both that and Toby." Rose turned on her hill and started up into the woods. Adam reached out for her but nothing came from his mouth. He ruined it. She was pissed. Her voice was like normal but he could feel that she was upset. Being caught and called out when he acted that way must have embarrassed her. He wanted to go after her but he knew that would only make her more upset. Turning to face the other, Adam held out a hand so he could carry something.

"Mind if I help. I don't want Rose madder then she already is..."

Rose made her way into camp but kept to the shadows. She only wanted to get to her tent without anyone seeing or bothering her. So when no one was looking, she slide into her tent and shut the thing tight. She grabbed her book and a light to read from and went out the back way of her tent. Her tent had a part that could come undone from the back. No one would be able to see it or notice it unless they knew where to look. She use to use to it sneak out during camping trips with her parents. She even hating camping then.

Swiftly, with no one noticing, she made her way into the woods to find a good place to read.

Charlie was in the middle of changing into some sleeping clothes when Julie came into the camp. Her back was facing the opening, so all she did was turn her head and smile at Julie. Charlie had a slight glazed look in her eyes and there was a few empty cans of beer sitting at the edge of her sleeping bag.

"Oh dude, sorry. Thought I would help get myself more sleep with those. Sadly its not enough." She waited for Julie to close the door before she continued to get dressed. She was changing out of her clothes and into a tank top and sweat pants. She didn't need much on her since she would be under a pile of blankets. Over heating was a possibility because you can't really tell much when its so cold.

"So, did all the drama stop outside or is everyone still fucking around with each other?" She joked while changing.

Mad wanted to argue with her about the whole sleeping thing but when he looked at her in the firelight, he couldn't help but instantly calm down. Thats why he loved about her. She was always able to calm him with just her presence. So, instead of arguing over it, he just pulled her close and allowed her to rest on him.

"Thats fine too. I have you all weekend and nothing will change that."

Alex gave a shrug and passed the esky over to Adam, and helped Toby lean on him more securely. Toby grabbed Alex's shoulder firmly to prevent himself sliding down, Alex realised the issue and grabbed Toby by the waist to keep him standing.

"Oi, calm down. I'm expecting at least a dinner before you start grabbing me down there." Toby said, joking to Alex. He smiled and at Adam as well, and gave a greeting nod.

"Mate, as tempting as your surfer boy chic is, I'm not game on fighting June for you. Keep staring at me with those eyes though and I might consider it." Alex said back, with a chuckle. The three of them set off again, back to the camp.

"So, Adam, buddy, good ol' friend of mine. How'd your chat with Rose go?" Alex asked, half teasing, half curious.

He didn't expect a response, and the three of them kept walking towards the camp.

Julie gulped quickly, and sat herself down in the tent, near the door. She hoped Charlie couldn't tell quite how nervous she was,; her body was shaking and she felt hotter than she should.

"Huh?" O-oh right, well they're..." She paused, thinking. "My brother's mostly being an idiot I think, about Rose I'm guessing." She said, looking at the floor of the tent. "He isn't very good at talking to people he... likes...it seems to run in the family." Julie said this last bit to herself under her breath.

"He's also being super rude to Alex, and I don't know why! Alex has been nice to me, always has." She said very surely.Looking up at Charlie a little frustrated, before blinking and staring down again.

Julie looked down at her clothes and groaned; she was so far out from what Charlie must like. She probably liked tough guys, or guys who had some attitude. God, she probably liked Alex!

"Thanks for letting me share your tent Charlie, I thought Adam was going to start something with Alex over his joke." She spoke, softly, as if talking about it would make it happen.

Adalene settled down against Mad for a short time before standing up, pulling him with her. She quickly pulled him bck to their tent, where she pulled him inside. In moments, she had stripped herself down to the underwear she had gotten abroad as a treat for him. Adalene stood tall before Mad, an image of elegance and ferocity, that she had learnt a long time ago for her work.
