Battersea Shopping Area, Banks of the Thames, Battersea, South West London, 1887

Captain Richard Stewart took another sip of tea before checking his watch again. The old, golden rimmed minute hand slowly ticked away as he re-adjusted his reading glasses. Age had began taking a toll on his eye sight.

"Five to nine," he mumbled as he shuffled in his seat, "Five to nine in the morning."

He had been sitting outside his favourite tea shop for an hour now. Owned by a Mandarin merchant who decided to settle in the heart of the empire, he had enjoyed the various teas and delicacies for the past 10 years in the same seat. A seat strangely placed outside the store front, by the general pedestrians. A lovely spot in the summer but an inconvenience in the winter. It's a shame that this might be the last time he'd ever sit or even see the quaint, little store again. He breathed in the winter air before exhaling and seeing his breath fade away into the heavens.

He closed his eyes before turning his gaze towards the passing crowds of morning shoppers. Despite a thin layer of snow settling on the pavement below, men, women and children all huddled together to complete their morning errands. Horse-drawn carriages dragged through the roads and the calm tides of the Thames rolled gently against the river banks.

And amongst the bustling shoppers, he waited. Doing nothing but sipping tea and greeting the occasional random passer-by.

This would've been a regular morning, had he not been expecting a group that'll eventually be his future crew members.

Battersea Housing Estate Building 5, Bank of the Thames, South London - 1887

Up in one of the many 3rd floor studios in the large estate, a young female was in bed, buried under the covers. The sunlight was peaking through the singular window of the room, shining on the one person bed, illuminating the white sheets of cloth.

Grumbling lightly, the girl stirred, shifting on the bed before peaking her eyes out from under the bed sheets, staring out her window. There were some birds on her window sill, chirping and pecking at the wooden frame. Nina let out a sigh, throwing her legs over the side of the bed and stretched, a blob of pink hair fraying all over the place. Reaching up with a hand, she ran her fingers through her hair, straightening it out a bit before standing up, wandering over to the window. It was cold, but she didnt care. She needed the fresh air.

Unlatching the window doors, she pushed them open, a cold breeze blowing into the studio flat. The girl closed her eyes for a moment,. reopening them as Nina looked down at the bustle of people who had woken up earlier than her, going about their morning business.

Just a regular day.

Nina closed the window, walking back towards her bed space. There was a medium sized closet with two drawers towards the bottom on the opposite side of the room, across from her bed. Opening up the larger doors, she shifted through the amount of shirts and pants she had, picking her outfit for the day. It didnt take Nina long to settle for a plain outfit consisting of loose fitting pants, a white blouse and leather corset. Nina wasnt one for being a flamboyant dresser, or fashion in general.

Setting the clothes on her bed, she made her way to the bathroom, the only room with its own door. Entering it, she closed the door behind her, beginning to strip off her nightwear. She was soon nude and quickly stepped into the bath, sitting down on the edge. Inside was a copper tub filled with water, which was cold. Nina didnt complain though, quickly washing herself up. She had been through worse.

It didnt take NIna that long to wash herself, and she got dressed just as quickly. She went into the kitchen area, opening up the cooler box in the corner and took a look to see what was left inside. She was running low on meat, and a few other items. Nina grumbled lightly, but sighed and closed the cooler lid. She went over to the dry cabinet, opening that up to see what she was running low on there. There were a few items she had to restock in the cabinet as well.

Sighing lightly, she moved to the door. She had no time for breakfast, knowing how quickly the markets could get crowded. Nina slipped her jacket on, grabbing her top hat and fit it on the top of her head. She grabbed her shoulder bag, which was hanging on a hook nailed into the wall, slinging the bag on her shoulder and across her chest.

Nina opened the door, taking a step out, then quickly gasped out in surprise and jumped back as she stepped on something, feeling her foot almost slip out from under her. She grabbed onto the door frame on instinct, supporting herself.

Bloody hell...that was close

Nina mumbled as she looked down, noticing the object she stepped on. Whatever it was, it was tightly wrapped.

Nina knelt down, picking up the small object, inspecting it. It was spherical, and small.

Who the hell would have the time to do something like this?

Nina began to rack her head of possible ideas on what the object was as she brought it inside her studio. Then something clicked. She remembered that someone had told her to look for a blood red marble if she was accepted to the recent job she applied to.

Could this be it?

Curious, Nina tore off the packaging, with a little effort. Her speculation was true. The marble was blood red. Nina's eyes lit up, both in excitement and anticipation.

Who else got accepted?
When do we leave?

A multitude of questions were swimming in Nina's head, but she quickly focused. She couldnt remember if a specific meeting point was mentioned, and the marble didnt ring any bells either. Nina took another look at the packaging. She didnt find any notes, so that was a dead end. Huffing out a breath, Nina took the marble and pocketed it. She'd worry about it later. Food and sustenance was more of a priority.

Nina walked out of her studio, closing the door and locked it with her key, then made her way down to the ground floor and left the building complex, merging with the rapidly growing crowds

Lizzie skipped through the marketplace, completely unfazed by the cold. She'd gotten it, she had finally gotten it! She'd been up at the crack of dawn every to see if the marble had come, and when it had appeared outside her door that morning, she'd only taken the time to throw an extra set of clothes in her satchel before running out to get supplies.

Now Lizzie was ready to go. She opened her bag and made sure she had everything. A spare change of clothes, some food, an astrolabe, a spyglass, a compass (one of each kind), and more charts and maps than she probably needed. The ship would likely provide equipment as well, but being prepared would make a good impression.

Now all Lizzie needed to do was figure out where to meet the captain. The marble hadn't come with any instructions, and the Turk who had given her the application hadn't told her of any particular location, either. Lizzie took the marble out of her pocket and examined it. The best course of action was likely to ask around. Someone was bound to know about tje captain and point her in the right direction.

Lizzie turned towards the nearest shop and smacked into someone, the marble flying out of her hands. Lizzie scrambled to grab the marble while apologizing to the person she'd run into.

"I am terribly sorry; I wasn't paying attention. Are you all right?"

He looked at her and simply said " I have to go thank you for always letting me come and do my experiments in your Lab Ms. Landerviel. The women simply laughed and wrote down on a piece of paper " your welcome like always Dear but why do you want to go on that Airship" Axel looked at her and simply smiled and started to set potion's on his satchel bag " Because I need to find myself I feel like I am going to be stuck in time if I don't go" Axel looked at her and she smiled back at him.

Amelie had been staying in a hotel using the money she had left and she was running out but luckily she found a job, which she honestly was a little excited about. This had the potential to be a lot of fun. She honestly preferred this then her old job. She didn’t like to think about for personal reasons. Once she was done backing which era wasn’t much, everything else had been taken from her, she headed out. “Now let’s see where was I suppose to go?” She made her way through town while looking for this captain. “Let’s see....oh! Is that him?” She walked up to a man who was sitting outside in front of the shop. “Excuse me? Are you Captain Richard?”
