The World of Gandara, in comparison to the Earth, could be considered rather small. It is, however, home to a large and diverse population. Amongst the planet you have: humans, the most basic and primitive form of life; Mikkusu, a species defined by addition of animal traits and Akuma, a monstrous race with an unquenchable hunger. Ordinarily, these three species would not be able to live amongst each other, but the World of Gandara has a unique means of separation: three realms accessible by portal. At the start of the Gandara’s timeline, each realm had an identical copy of the world, which overtime has changed and shifted based off of the actions that partook in it. The humans are currently in a feudal area (think Inuyasha), the Mikkusu are in a modern era and the Akuma are still in the primal era. 



It is possible to switch and visit other realms, and Mikkusu could be seen as the quintessence of this technique. It can be done through the manipulation of Chi, the body’s natural energy, which is also used for elemental magic and body morphing (disguising your form). Mikkusu must disguise themselves as humans, to visit the human realm; humans receive rather frequent visits from Akuma (which bare similar form) and are terrified of what is not their own kind. Most humans have no grasp or knowledge of their Chi, and are weak; Mikkusu are their hope for protection.
