Hyperion, Prince of the Solar Throne

  • tumblr_ms1wltpuPR1s88ss5o1_1280.jpg

    Username: @Maven

    Name: Hyperion Sebastien Alexander

Introduction: A Prince of the Solar Throne, Son the Emperor and Empress of the Imperial Dominion of the Solar Empire. Grieving for the last two years over the loss of his sister in a failed assassination attempt on his life, and the loss of his best friend and lover the son of the Duke of Venetica, Hyperion is recovering, alone, and scared that the future that awaits him is a continuation of the prison he has felt as if he was in since birth. Truthfully he wishes for a Knight in shining armor to save him, he doesn't care about rank, about birth or anything so long as they love him, for him and not for his title. Nothing fake, nothing wrong, nothing that would hurt him. His heart is not on his sleeve but in a safe, a bunker beneath layers of nerves and depression. A smile that used to grace his soft lips now has faded into a memory of a past time. A time when things seemed alright. The Prince of the Solar Throne is alone and needs a light at the end of the tunnel. Will you be that light?

  • Favourite Colour: Sapphire Blue

Favorite Thing to Do: Hyperion's favorite thing to do would likely be simply walking around the gardens of the Amalfi Estate which he has had designed and cared for by only the best. Any other time, when Hyperion isn't at the Estate it would easily be going and getting ice cream.

Least Favorite Thing to Do: Having to give a speech about something he doesn't actually support but the "throne" does. Various matters from possible war with some nations, to the condemnation of the critics of the monarchy, Hyperion wants a more open, fair and free nation but sometimes the politics of the matter are "too complicated" to allow him to voice his own opinion because, his own opinion doesn't exist officially.

Favorite Place to Vacation: A private estate owned by his family on the Amalfi Coast. The Estate is sitting on the cliffs overlooking the coastal beach just below and the Tyrhennian Sea beyond. Built in classical Roman architecture centered around an open courtyard, with columns surrounding and beautiful mosaics throughout it is easier to call the Estate a Villa than a modern place. There aren't many modern day conveniences in the Estate per the request of Hyperion as he officially owns it, not the Emperor and not the Government. Here is the ultimate retreat within a nice distance to the hustle and bustle of home.

Personality: Hyperion at one point was an outgoing, friendly person hell bent on getting people to smile and sometimes to laugh. A smile graced his lips as if it was never going to leave, not one that was forced like so many in his position but a truly genuine smile that seemed to be rather infectious towards other people. He was still shy, don't get me wrong, he was not one to willingly hop onto a stage and give some rousing speech or to simply walk up to people he didn't know and introduce himself. He would if told to, but it would not be something he particularly enjoyed doing, new things tended to make him nervous and to scare him ever so slightly.

Things in his life changed his positive outlook though. The smile faded into memory, and the death of two people very close and very dear to Hyperion made things ultimately take a darker tone. He doesn't really smile now, not genuinely. Well he does only when talking to children but not really to adults. Things that used to make him happy, like walking through the gardens of his estate on the Amalfi coast only make him sad. Vacationing doesn't seem to help much either. In fact most things now seem to only make matters worse and he has not had the will to make another friend, fearing that he will lose them like he lose William. His shyness is worse than it once was, but public functions he can still pull off fairly well. While the public mourns with him and support him, Hyperion can't help but feel ever so alone.
