Name: Mildred Rose Bell Clark, officially Rose Bell Clark - she dropped her first name instead of her last name upon marriage
Gender: Female
Age: 20
Nation of Origin: United States of America (Louisville, Kentucky)

Personality: Rose likes to think she's the main character in her own romance novel. Being on a trip around the world is such a wonderful backdrop for any number of eventful things to happen in her otherwise uneventful life. As, of course, the femme fatale of this novel, she has certain expectations of what might happen on this trip, though that is yet to be seen. She's long felt stifled by her arranged marriage and aging husband, feeling as though she was deprived of the social life young women of her age deserve. As such, this trip without her husband along proves to be the chance of a lifetime, and she's eager for anything that might happen. She would absolutely adore to find a paramour of her own on this trip, and is willing to do most anything to capture the attention of some handsome rogue, including lying about herself to seem more appealing or to more fit the trope of a character in the role she sees herself in. She does, however, have her limits, and would not do anything to cause a scandal great enough to upset her status. Rose thinks herself to be quite shrewd, but in reality, someone who realizes how to use her desires against her could lead her on for quite a long time before she realizes what is going on. She's very wrapped up in her fantasy, and that may prove to be her foil if she does not develop her ambitions further.
Likes: Romance Novels, Bright or Pastel Colored Clothing, Attention
Dislikes: Heights, Smoking (strong smells of any sort, really, give her a headache)

Short Bio: Rose comes from old money. Being the sole child of widower Reuben William Bell, a prominent man of both law and banking, she was brought up in a manner befitting her status. From a very young age, she was tutored in all sorts of subjects: languages including Latin, Greek, French, and German; music lessons, primarily in the piano; popular dances a young woman of her age should know; and, of course, the social etiquette required of a wealthy heiress. But beyond ensuring his daughter had a proper upbringing, Mr. Bell was also quite concerned with her future, and from the tender age of thirteen she was engaged to be married to William Ambrose Clark, great-grandson of the famous explorer William Clark of the Lewis and Clark expedition, upon her reaching the age of eighteen. Mr. Clark, thirty-seven years her senior, was a polite enough man, and more importantly, he also came from money. His father, architect of Churchill Downs and founder of the Kentucky Derby, had jump-started a revolutionary pastime for many a young gentleman who owned a horse, and the success of the racetrack had brought the Clark family into quite a bit of wealth. It seemed like a suitable match, and more importantly, would ensure that Mr. Bell's bank and law firm would pass into the hands of a man long used to managing money.

For her own part, Rose had very little say in the marriage. She had no mother or sisters to discuss the matter with, and furthermore Mr. Bell had no wife to look after his daughter. Rose was raised, in the most part, by her tutors, and the most maternal influence she got came from reading novels about women of her age. It was from here that her fascination with romance novels sprung, and without a strong female presence in her life, she began to adapt her own mannerisms from the stories she read. It seemed satisfactory to her father and appealing enough to her future husband, and so the charade has continued so long that Rose would be hard-pressed to say if she could act any differently, at this point.

If married life has not been happy, it has at least been comfortable. Her husband dotes on her, in a distant sort of way - buying her things she likes and throwing parties at his manor house when she complains of being lonely, but Rose is keenly aware that she is little more than a trophy wife. There is little to no love lost between herself and her husband, and she is well aware of the fact that he has at least one lover outside of their bond of marriage. It was Rose subtly hinting at this affair and her desire to have the more full attention of her husband - at least for a while - that led to him purchasing two tickets for the circumnavigating trip of the USS Centurion. Delighted by the gift, Rose agreed to forgive and forget entirely about William's infidelity in exchange. The trip would bring them closer together, she was sure, and perhaps she could have the thrilling romance she'd read about all her life, even with a fifty-seven year old man.

Plans changed, however, a month ago, when William had a stroke. Though recovering, Rose's husband has lost mobility on the left side of his body, and often seems confused or suffers from short-term memory problems. In any case, he is certainly not fit to travel, but he agreed that it would be a shame for those tickets to go to waste, and insisted Rose take the trip along with an escort. Rose assured she would - however, secretly, no escort was sought after. This was the chance of a lifetime, a chance to leave Louisville for the first time since living with her father and going on the occasional business trip with him, a chance to leave the gaze of her husband for as long as it took to go around the world. And it was a chance that Rose did not want to miss, or have dampened by a stuffy escort. She sold the second ticket meant to be her husband's for a little more in the way of cash for her journey, and set off to New York, New York - a city where anything, absolutely anything, might happen! - entirely alone.

Extras: Her father is the only one to refer to her by her first name, often calling her "Millie".
For fun, a theme song

Name: Mignonette Isabelle 'Minette' Gardener

Gender: Female

Age: 24

Nation of Origin: Paris, France

Personality: Minette is frivolous, flighty and flirtatious. She has never lived a day in the real world and has never had any genuine worries, and it shows. She spends her days drinking and partying without a care. However, she is far more clever than she appears, having had an extensive education, supervised by her grandmother. She has a quick wit and a sharp mind hiding under the pretty silks and extensive collections of hats. She is an accommodating hostess, as well as an artistic soul. She is a patron of the arts and often hosts painters, opera singers and musicians. However, she also has a quick temper, and despite the fact that she is intelligent and book-smart, she is naive when it comes to life outside of her gilded bubble and lacks many street-smarts. She often donates to various charities as well, however, it is often for show, and she doesn't understand the full nature that those who are poor suffer, no matter how good her intentions are. Overall, she is a bright and charming person, with a bubbly, friendly personality, though she is incredibly naive when it comes to the world outside of the one that she has created.

Likes: Fashion, parties, macarons, pink champagne, dogs and cats

Dislikes: Responsibility, spiders, fire

Short Bio: Minette was born in Paris, France, the daughter of a nouveau riche American entrepreneur, Peter Gardener, and French Socialite, Lucie-Claire Mercier. She was their only child, as a difficult birth left Lucie-Claire unable to produce more children. She spent her early years well loved and spoiled by her parents, and travelling between Paris and New York City, New York, and as a result knew French and English from a young age. At the age of eight, her parents died in a fire while spending the evening with friends, leaving Minette in the care of her paternal grandmother, whom she loving called Grand-mere, and leaving all of her inheritance with her, as well. Her grandmother was a bit more strict than her parents, especially when it came to the school room, but she was a kind woman who cared deeply for Minette, and continued travelling between Paris and New York, so Minette would know both sides of her family and grow close relationships with them. A few months after Minette turned nineteen, her grandmother died, leaving Minette in possession of a fortune, as well as homes in both New York and France, and she continued spending her time between the two cities she had come to know as her homes. She has since become a patron of the arts as well as a salon hostess. Upon hearing of the USS Centurion, she quickly bought a ticket, simply because it seemed like fun and she has the funds to do so.

fjodor.jpg
Name: Fjodor Jungmann Křižík
Gender: Male
Age: 26
Nation of Origin: Danubian Federation, Brno (Brünn), Bohemia.

Personality: Fjodor is a to-the-point kind of man. In spite of aristocratic origins, it is the workplace that molded him first and foremost. He has a lack of regard for the many rules of society, especially of the higher classes. In fact, he sees it as a bit of a fire-with-fire act, projecting his father onto the rest. If they refuse to work, why bother with fruitless formalities to repay them? Regardless, he doesn't really like to make unnecesary enemies, seeing them as a bothersome derailing. Instead, Fjodor believes in hard-won comraderie and the strength of many, building links on the steel chain, as strong as possible. Egatelarian at heart, the only people he truly dislikes are prejudiced and lazy. In the spirit of workplace and personality, he has a penchant for getting into fights and altercations. But most of all, his highest values are fairness and honesty, putting him into a bit of a self-conflict regarding his purpose onboard the airship.
Likes: The fulfillment of work, reading, action, dogs, sport
Dislikes: Brown-noses and ivory towers, cats, idleness, politicians

Short Bio: Fjodor's father was a low-end aristocrat and politician within the Austrian monarchy. His views were that of a radical nationalist and slavophile, advocating the secession of the former crown of Wenceslaus from Austria, under the protection and partnership of the Russian Tsardom. However, as Ferdinand's reforms quelled the heat of slavic intelligentsia and granted concessions the czech populace considered satisfactory, the demagogue lost public support. Furthermore, each monetary endeavour gave back nothing, estate was lost, and the family was reduced to destitute urban life. As such, a by-this-time young Fjodor had to work hard to help provide, especially as his father outright refused traditional work. At first railroad work, then factory machinery, the industrial heartlands were rich with toil. The boy's bits of free time were spent reading the old books of russian and national revivalist origins kept in his father's ownership, a bit naive to their ideals. On a faithful day, he'd meet a unionist intellectual and monetary benefactor in the workplace. This man, recognising Fjodor's family name, took an interest, and a friendship ensued. Certain ideals were exchanged, and finally, Fjodor recieved a ticket to the flight of the USS Centurion, as well as additional funds required, in order to meet the world, together with a less... legal job on the side.

Name: Loretta Sabina Venti
Gender: Female
Age: 26
Nation of Origin: Venezia, Italy

Personality: Loretta is a noblewoman through and through. She very proud of her heritage and never forgets it. She is on the trip around the world because she wanted to go and she always gets what she wants. Basically, Loretta is very sweet and fun but also very insecure. She uses her status to cover those insecurities and if she ever found a man to handle her, one that would be willing to work through all those layers, she could actually solve all her issues. She is very well-read, well-educated and smart but also, since she was always exposed to high society, she enjoys fancy dances, balls, parties and loves dancing. All in all, Loretta is a bit confused and unhappy young woman who is searching for the meaning of life and needs to learn how the real life outside of her luxurious home looks like.

Likes: dancing, fashion, books, history
Dislikes: wine, dirty places, stupid people

Short Bio: Loretta was born with a silver spoon in her mouth. From her very first day on this earth, her parents were feeding her with the sense of being special and privileged. And Loretta grew to be exactly what their parents wanted her to be. A brat. There was never anything she didn’t have. If she got an idea, it had to become a reality, no matter how insane it was. She was homeschooled her whole life and entering her teenage years, she was starting to realize something. Yes, she had it all, it was enough to point at things and someone delivered. But there was something very essential missing in her life. Friends. Loretta read many books and her favorite were either romantic novels or adventures. And she had neither in her life, nothing. She was basically living in the gilded cage and no one could get in.

After this realization, she decided she had enough and convinced her parents to let her study outside of home. They were not very thrilled to let their precious little flower out of the nest but once again, Loretta wanted something and no matter how, she got it. In the end, she studied history at the University of Bologna and to her great surprise, she was having trouble finding friends. No one was charmed by her origin or by how many books she has read because they were either the same or even better than her. It was her first big failure in life and she was trying to recover from that. But the roots of her parents’ education were deep in her and she is still not there yet. Flying through life, almost no friends, no one to truly love her, Loretta decided to board the USS Centurion and get a new experience, adventure if you will. And who knows what is waiting for her up in the skies…

Name:
Ophelia Katsaros
Gender:
Female
Age:
24
Nation of Origin:
Nafplion, Greece

Personality:
Ophelia is a very lively and adventurous person, often described as child-like by her peers. Being a very open person, she usually has no trouble making friends, and is always happy to listen when someone needs to talk. Ophelia is known to be an extremely energetic person, which can sometimes be her downfall. Her hyperactive nature often leads to her rushing into things head on, not stopping to think about the consequences.

Likes:
The Stars, Flying, The Ocean, Her Hometown, Sailing.

Dislikes:
Sharks, Pickles, Wasps.

Short Bio:
Ophelia grew up in a coastal town in Greece, spending the summer days frolicking in the waves with her brothers and picnicking in the flower meadow. When Summer ended however, she would grow bored with her school studies and would often skip school to wander off. Ophelia got into a lot of trouble because of this, but no matter how they tried, they could not keep her contained. During the days when she skipped, Ophelia would usually head to the harbor and "borrow" her neighbors boat. It was small enough that she could handle it by herself, but just large enough to spend the night on it if she wanted to. So that's what she did, Ophelia spent many warm nights on her neighbors boat, for they did not mind.

And that leads to how Ophelia became interested in the ships of the sky. One summer day she sailed a little further than she normally would, and ended up docking at a larger town that was built on trade by airships. Ophelia was instantly drawn towards the large vessels. The though of roaming the skies and traveling all over the world entranced her. After lots of debates and arguments with her parents, Ophelia eventually got permission from her parents to travel the world on an airship. But first, Piloting School.

After a few years of grueling school, a lot of tears, and a LOT of late night studying, Ophelia is an officially a qualified pilot. She now works on the USS Centurion.
