Bringing the rules in here too in case anybody forgot about them...
  • All RPN rules gotta be followed
  • Don't make everything about you
  • No over the top characters. Creativity is encouraged, but no crazy unrealistic stuff, please
  • Real face claims please and thank you! If you can't find one, just try to give a detailed description of your character in you CS
  • Be courteous to other people, and if you have a problem, come to me about it
  • Try to avoid one-liners as much as possible, there isn't a limit to how much you write, but at least a small paragraph is ideal
  • No spamming chat of course. There should always be at least two posts between yours (UNLESS we have a situation where someone is unable to reply and we have to keep the RP moving with them on stand
  • Have fun? (That's what this is about ain't it?)

Name:
Jena Lee Rose
Nickname(s):
Jen (Though most just call her Jena...)
Age:
16
Grade:
Junior (11th)
Gender:
Female
Sexuality:
Straight
Height:
5 ft. 3 in.
Role in Band:
Lead Bassist
Bio:
Jena was raised by Hippies. Yes. Hippies. Pot-smoking, make-peace-not-napalm, flower crown weaving hippies. Yeah, so her parents and their friends might have been a little stuck in the 70s, but it wasn't such a big deal. The day her parents brought her home they threw a party, inviting their closest friends, three married couples (Mary and Clide - Katerina and Jennifer - Delilah and David). They gathered around and sang kumbaya while passing around a baby and a bong. Sure it wasn't the most healthy thing, but they all loved that little baby to death. The group of hippie types raised her in such a way that it could have been easy to forget which couple were her real parents. They took turns watching her and each taught her different things about life. There was never a moment in her young life that she wasn't surrounded by people who loved and protected her. She got on pretty well for the first few years of her life. They all taught her to appreciate the Earth and everybody on it, all while being very, very, high. The group homeschooled her until she turned 14 and she was always a very bright girl. Though she was also severely sheltered and grew up in an extreme state of naivety. It wasn't until her first year of high school that she really realized her family life wasn't exactly normal. She was teased incessantly the first day she showed up to school, a flower crown in her dark wavy hair, wearing a too-long draping shirt and a patchwork skirt. Since then she's learned that hippie clothing is not exactly chic, but she didn't let that get to her too bad. She learned so much that first year of high school; how to make friends with people, how to communicate with humans who aren't high... She adapted slowly, but eventually, she started dressing in a way that she felt very comfortable, while not being ridiculed and keeping a close bond with her family.
It was with her dad, the biological one at least, that she found her passion for music. He taught her to sing and play the guitar. He had played the guitar for years, singing old 70s songs as him and his friends passed around the weed. He taught her too, and she fell in love with the instrument, but when a friend let her test out their bass at school, she fell harder. She spent her entire savings that she'd earned taking care of her neighbor's cat and babysitting her cousins on a used bass guitar she found online. Ever since then she's played like her life depended on it. When the band was starting up, her family was a little unsure about it. They would never have stopped her from doing something she wanted, but they were scared it would either take her away from them, or that gaining fame would swallow her whole. They very reluctantly gave her permission to go on the tour of the states when that came up, and called her every morning and night while they were touring. The topic of the band is still something of a sore subject around the family, but they try to ignore it best they can.

Personality:
Jena is, well, Jena. She is one of the most optimistic people you'll meet and is always too quick to trust. She can't help it really. She is extremely open-minded and easily excited but can go a little over the top sometimes. She also has zero sense of a 'personal bubble' or a 'filter', which can prove problematic at times. Not that she really ever has something offensive to say, but she can sometimes get too close for comfort around people who aren't used to her personality. Though, if she knows you well enough and you can't stand it, she'll do her best to remember and respect your space even if it's against her nature. Music is something that affects her more than anything. Happy songs make her happy, sad songs make her sad, and anything with a good beat can get her on her feet and dancing. She's naive and sometimes it can come across as simply being gullible, but she's still fairly book-smart; it's the 'street-smart' and 'people-smart' stuff that stumps her.
Jena cannot stand conflict. Violence, or simply raised voices, will send her cowering in a corner or running for the hills. When put in a position where she has to make a quick decision she'll often clam up on the spot. Despite this, on stage or while performing, she radiates confidence. She practically glows. Music is her 'happy place'. She also loves paint. Sure, she has no clue how to use it, but finger painting on a canvas is one of her all-time favorite hobbies. However, she is a dreadful artist when it comes to visual arts.
Being outdoors~Being around friends~The guitar & the bass~cats~performing~coffee~sunflowers~caramel
Violence~Conflict~The smell of weed or cigaretts~ sitting still~silence~
Appearance:
Jena has wavy, dark brown hair and striking, pale green eyes. She almost always has a smile on her face and walks like she's lighter than air. Jen is fairly short and thin, and usually wears a lot of small silver rings. Her clothes are mostly loose fit or lacey clothes. She doesn't wear makeup but has pristine skin and long, dark eyelashes. Generally, she is considered very pretty...
14abe6b80eaee001169399275118.gif
Extra:
Jena loves her family but has never been too fond of their lifestyle. By that, I mean she can't stand the smell of weed and has mild asthma so she tends to stay away from home as much as possible. She has a hard time following sarcasm a lot of the time and doesn't get innuendos or dirty jokes either. She can sing, but she would much rather just play the bass. Whenever she says 'family', she means her biological parents and her other nonbiological parents... Jena is a bit of a klutz too and, because of her parents her clothes always smell a little like weed or cigarettes, but she tries to cover it up with vanilla Ferbreeze... [/FONT]

Will Probably add more to this as the RP goes...

Name:
Melissa Bowman
Nickname:
Lissa [lih-suh]
Age:
16
Grade:
Junior
Gender:
Female
Sexuality:
Bisexual
Role in Band:
Lead Singer

quiz-which-one-of-rena-lovelis-instagram-posts-are-you-01.jpg

Bio/History:
Lissa grew up with an alcoholic father and a drug addicted mother. She had an older brother, Luke, who swore to always take care of her. He protected her when their parents got into fights, and held her as she cried herself to sleep. Living in that house was hell, but Luke made it okay. He made sure she had clothes on her back and food in her belly, and as she got older he made sure that she finished her homework and helped him with the chores. It wasn't his job to be a parent to her, but he took it upon himself to do.

Maybe that's why he committed suicide. Lissa came home from school one day at the tender age of twelve to find that he'd hung himself, right there in his bedroom. He'd left a note that she still has to this day, although nobody knows about it. Her screams caught the attention of her parents, who rushed in to find their son dead and cold, and their daughter trying to tear him down and bring him back.

His death straightened out her parents. For a little while. Lissa started dealing with depression mood swings and was diagnosed as bipolar at thirteen after her mood swings became so much that not even her parents could handle them. They spent months fighting with her to get her to take her pills, but it wasn't until a friend got her into music and singing that she really started to take her health seriously. High school is where she met her to-be bandmates, and it's where she really started to come out of her shell.

Personality:
Melissa doesn't open up easily, but once she does, she's a good person to be around. She's not a beat around the bush type of girl; she's very blunt and honest, and sometimes can come across as too honest. She hates being lied to, so why would she lie to someone else? If something concerns her, she'll be sure to say what's on her mind. If it doesn't concern her, she usually keeps to herself. She's used to people picking on her, and it doesn't really get to her much anymore, but it can at times.

Around her friends, she loves to laugh and smile. Overall she wants to be a happy person, and when she's medicated, she can be. Singing is her passion, and she wants to learn an instrument as well, though she hasn't decided which one yet. She's not the type of girl to conform to what you want her to be-- she's her own person, other peoples opinions be damned.

Name: Jessica Wang
Age: 16
Grade: Junior
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Role in Band: Second Guitar
Bio/History:
Jessica was born to a german mother and a chinese father, who both lived in Germany. Her parents were in the upper middle class. Growing up, it was quickly clear that she was a very intelligent little thing, loving to learn and explore. She quickly managed to zoom past others of her age, when it came to even the early school work. Growing up with very liberal and loving parents, she was a quirky, outgoing and kind child. And through elementary school, that worked perfectly fine. Her great way with words, even at a young age, made her liked by both, pears and adults. She seemed to have a thing for language, not only german, but as soon turned out, languages in general. She seemed to easily learn new languages, quickly grabbing a hold of both, mandarin and english.

When she came into the secondary school however, things changed. The german educational system sent kids into a school, dependant on their potential and past grades. Jessica easily made it into the highest tier of school, her parents allowing her to choose one. And that she did. However, on the first day already, a lot of things changed. The atmosphere was a lot more competetive than it had ever been and everybody was looking for their own advantage. Groups were built on the first day and the innocent, open and kind-hearted Jessica, that even dared to have foreign looks to her, was quickly put into the position of the victim, the outsider. A position she did not even fully understand. But with time, the constant exclusion, bullying, harassment, it got to her. Changed her. She became a lot more fearsome around strangers. She withdrew to herself and the open, kind girl became a lot more shy and introverted. She found cover in music, listening to it, but as the interested spirit she was, soon getting into it herself. Her parents, still wanting the best for her and not yet having uncovered what caused her recent change, helped her. They bought her a guitar and arranged guitar lessons for her.

Jessica showed talent and the music she made and heard helped her work with what she was experiencing. She even found the courage to talk to her parents. And her father hearing how unhappy she was in her school, how it was changing and breaking her, did two things. First, he gave her an advise. To hide her intellect. Not as to ignore it, but to use it hiddenly. To keep a facade, to fool the others. To outsmart and manipulate them without them even noticing. He said it was what he had always done, until he was in a spot where he was untouchable by those that tried to drag him down.

The second thing he did was take a job offer. It offered a better payment and better career options as well, it just had one major flaw. It required him to relocate, move to the united states. But now, knowing the relocation could even be helpful for his daughter, he hesitated no second. It was quickly dealt with. With 14, Jessica and her parents moved to America. There, she was quickly put into a highschool. With her past experiences and her fathers advice, she took on the role of the innocent little stranger, that knew so little about everything. With time, she found friends, that uncovered who she was under all that made up facade she had. Her passion for music helped her to connect, even had her end up in a band.

Personality:
Jessica is a very hard to understand person, at least at first. She seems to be a very quiet, polite and kind girl, always closely paying attention not to step on anybody´s toes. Her voice is sweet and her comments are full of such naivety and innocence. Or at least, it seems that way. Jessica is however a very intelligent girl, that simply prefers to not show what she really thinks. Those that pay close attention to her, know her enough, will soon realize each her so innocent sentences is dripping of a cynical sarcasm, as if mocking those unable to realize. Its hard to imagine that this doe-eyed little thing was more than it appears to the eye seems hard for many people. Which Jessica knows to use to her advantage. She´s a rebel at heart, but since almost nobody knows that, she easily gets out of trouble simply by how innocent everybody thinks she is.

Despite how manipulative and sneaky she can be, Jessica is still a kind heart. She does not want to harm anybody and she makes sure to step as little on peoples toes as she can, while still not putting herself behind for it. She is a person that hates open fights, be it physical or verbal and always tries to have a clearing talk, before things start to escalate. She cannot stand even fights she is not part of, always either running from them or trying to intervene.

Jessica is further a very shy person. While she easily finds a connection to most people and conquers them with flying banners in a conversation, she seems to struggle to actually make an approach to anybody, even ordering something in a restaurant seems to be a challenge for her.

All in all, Jessica is a very intelligent and harmony loving, however, watchful person, that is fully aware of the look and image she maintains, keeping them up, while sneaking in her own, hidden sense of humor oftenly. She stands in the back, never in the center of attention, but she still never goes unnoticed.

Appearance:
Jessica has a rather dainty frame, however is 160cm tall

Name: Miguel Laymend

Age: Recently turned 17

Grade: Junior

923329C2-4285-4CE4-A298-E4E2D3C48F1A.jpeg

Gender: Male

Sexuality: Straight

Role in Band: Drummer

Background: A fond memory that Miguel has is during his toddler years of life, he was sitting in front of the television with stars in his eyes and watching his uncle on the old vhs player. It was a concert featuring their old band from Missouri, his uncle keeping tempo with the drums in the back and becoming one with the music that was expelled through the band’s instruments. Miguel always admired and idolized that part of his uncle, the part of him that was kind and always had a spark of energy coursing through him that turned into an ever engulfing fire whenever he played the drums.

Miguel had been living with his aunt and uncle for a while when it happened, he was in his 8th grade English class, and was called out of school to visit the hospital. The cold winter air whipped past him as he and his aunt walked to the train station. His uncle was on life support. That’s what happens when a truck slips on ice and goes onto the sidewalk where a pedestrian, his uncle, was walking. He didn’t make it through the night.

With a new resolve, Miguel vowed to follow his uncle’s footsteps and live with a current of music coursing similarly through his veins. Which is what led him to his friends over the years, and eventually the band.

Miguel loved the tour, he was on top of the world, following the dream he set out to accomplish. He hoped his uncle would be proud.

Though now the tour is over, and Miguel accomplished his dream right? He got to have fun with his friends, enjoy the music to it’s fullest extent, even got to record the whole thing...

Now what?

Personality: That exact simple, yet complex, question is what currently plagues Miguel’s mind. Sure he’s still riding high off of the adrenaline from the tour a few days ago, but the question has been popping up more and more. But besides that whole existential crisis, Miguel is a pretty laid back dude; cracking a joke every few minutes and trying his best to be a good bandmate. He’s kind at heart, albeit with an independent streak the size of Alaska, and is always trying to prove himself to others. He’s a good kid, just gets conflicted every now and then.

Name: Nele Vuletić
Age: 17
Grade: 12th
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Bisexual
Role in Band: PR guy

Bio/History: Nele's parents are actually from Serbia. After his father died in a working accident, his mother collected their stuff, grabbed her only child, scrapped up some money, bought an airplabe ticket and called her cousin who lived in America.

Nele was 8 years old back then. Streets of Belgrade, their poor working family apartment, smell of socialist offices when he would have to wait for his mother to finish her job stuck vividly in his memory. He learnt the new language pretty fast, but his accent has forever remained a little off. The way he pronounced some words, the way he sometimes misused certain phrases...

They lived with their uncle for a while. He rented flats, so he let Nele's mother to stay in one and start paying rent after she's found a job as a cleaning lady. Language was much harder for her than her child. Nele grew up on the streets. It was nothing new to him - he grew up on the streets of Belgrade, so he just carried his habits over to America.
He quickly started making friends and connections - he knows this guy who works for a club, he knows this guy who's a journalist, he knows that guy who is a photographer... Nele worked on principle of bargaining and trading services. He started taking on small (often illegal or shady) jobs early on to help out his mother.

The only instrument he plays is a small harmonica that belonged to his father. He always has it in his pocket. He doesn't let just anyone hear him play it though - it's deeply personal and intimate for him.
Personality: Nele may talk a bit off - but that doesn't stop him from talking a lot. His first and foremost function is: being a salesman. He would get the devil to buy whatever he's offering. Bargains, trades, ties - Nele can and will sell whatever he can.
When he joined the chess club, he suddenly made it popular. It took off really well in their shool with competitions, press, etc.

His naturally relaxed and careless, yet persistent nature, made him into a person who easily connects with others. He is street smart, he is fleeing, and he is practical.
He is passionate and impulsive, but it's his homecountry talking through him. Open, honest, blunt - but yet a good guy with humanist ideals. Serbia is a passionate country. He talks with fire and conviction in his voice and doesn't buy into bullshit.

He is the main editor and writer for the school newspapers as well. To Nele, knowledge and connections are power.
With all that aside, he never tries to be the main star. He is well known, but he never wants to be famous for real.
He also does photography as a hobby and is pretty good at it.

He's a smoker.

Name:
Josie Clinton
Age: 16
Grade:
Junior
Gender:
Female
Sexuality:
Straight
Role in Band:
Keyboard
Bio/History:
Josie was born into a loving family, with two older sisters. She was always somewhat popular, her magnetic personality gaining her many friends. She got into music at around at 7, when her parents took her to a concert. Around her twelfth birthday, her father left. Her mother fell into substance abusive to cope, and died of a heroin overdose 7 months later. Her older sisters, only in their late teens, had to provide for her and often blamed her for their issues. They started abusing her, both mentally and physically, and Josie moved out right after she turned 15.

Josie slowly got better, though she still has scars and insomnia from the many sleepless nights. Shortly after moving away, she joined a small music therapy group. She quickly picked up keyboard, and grew to love music. This led Josie to her friends, and she eventually joined the band. During the tour, she felt happier then she ever had.
Personality:

Josie is typically very chill, with an indifferent attitude. However, she tries to maintain a good reputation and can become very defensive if she feels attacked. Aside from that, she is very friendly and has a great sense of humor. She makes jokes out of almost every situation, sometimes even in the wrong ones. Though Josie may seem like a steadfast friend, it takes a lot to get her to trust you and she can be quick to abandon you if she has doubts.

For Josie's close friends, it's ride or die. If you break her trust once, it's nearly impossible to get her to trust you again. If you manage to get her to trust you, she will do nearly anything and is incredibly loyal. She may come off as clingy if she feels like someone is getting tired of her, and is overall somewhat insecure.

Name:
Breyden Hendricks
Nickname(s):
Sometimes 'B', or Brey
Age:
16 (will turn 17 soon though)
Grade:
Junior
Gender:
Male
Sexuality:
Straight
Role in Band:
Comic Relief (Self-appointed)
Bio/History:
Breyden's home life was rocky since before he was born. Both his parents, Madison Krey and Landon Hendricks, came from filthy rich families who's only desires were to become filthier and richer... They got married in a sort-of publicity stunt. Big-business Lawer meets Heiress turned Fashion star. Breyden was a product of this loveless union. He was practically raised by a nanny in his unhealthily massive home. When he did get to see his parents, he did his best to steal their attention from either fighting each other or working enough that they wouldn't have to speak to each other. It hardly ever worked. They shipped him off to a boarding school when he was 9 years old, but after a year there, he started getting into trouble. Pulling pranks on the teachers mostly. If he was honest with himself, he probably did it to either get back at his parents or just to get their attention. Either way, when he was sent home near the end of his second year, after accidentally catching half the science wing on fire, you could say his parents were not pleased. It was probably the first time they had really spoken to him... though it was pretty loud speaking. They hired a homeschool tutor to work with him for a year, but when he turned 13 he finally was able to convince his parents to send him to a normal public school. They ended up enrolling him in the same school as this group and he found his place pretty quickly. He never really stopped trying to gain his parents' attention, but now he at least had people he could talk to and be himself around. He's never had any talent in music, being tone-deaf and 'all thumbs', but he's loved it for as long as he could listen. It was what he blasted in his bedroom when his parents weren't home, which was often, or when they were ignoring him, which was almost even more often. When the band formed, Breyden felt a little left out, but he stuck with the band and they invited him everywhere. He's practically a groupie. The group comes over to his house a lot since it's so big and his parents are always out.
Personality:
Honest, you will probably never find a more dependable guy. Breyden's sense of loyalty is practically off the charts, and probably because of his problems with his parents. He likes to feel needed and wanted and will try to make others feel the same. He is supportive and can be pretty sweet when he wants to be too, though if you rub him the wrong way he can put up a sort-of tough guy wall. As the self-appointed comic-relief character in the band, Breyden has a massive sense of humor. He will laugh at just about anything remotely funny, especially dad-jokes, and is a pun-king. Prank wars never go unfinished with this guy, and he will fight to the death to be the winner of them. Mostly, he just likes to have fun. The times when you see him down, aren't common, but when they happen he isn't great at hiding his emotions. If he's upset, you'll know. The main cause of a down-attitude for Breydon would have to be any mention of his parents or being ignored. That's probably his biggest problem; he cannot stand being ignored. And because of his history being ignored he won't do it to anyone else, so instead of 'ghosting' or 'silent-treatment' from him, you'll get a confrontation. He is pretty big on talking things out and doesn't like to fight, but certain subjects rile him up. Most of the time, if he gets angry, he'll storm off rather than fight you though, to give himself time to cool down before talking again. He is mildly intelligent, though he doesn't exactly try his hardest in school. He picks up on social cues fairly well, but also can be kinda oblivious when it comes to people flirting or something like that with him.
Extra:
He was in a relationship with a girl outside the band (her name was Carley if that comes up ever), but she broke up with him before they went on tour because she thought (and probably correctly so) that he was always choosing his friends over her...
Appearance:
He is tall, about 6'4 and lightly muscular from years of fencing lessons and soccer. His hair is a chocolate brown and always a bit disheveled. Wears super casual clothes, though they're always neat, and has light brown eyes.
