Mordecai
the traitorous queen
Name: Atherva
Age: 23
Power: Energy Construct
Overview: Atherva, sometimes nicknamed Erva, is the natural-born leader who is watchful, reasoned, and often unemotional. She’s not often the type to get wrapped up in her emotions or act on impulse. Her most defining characteristics tend to be her resourcefulness and rationality, though she is often seen as aloof or even a bit condescending. She has a strong sense of ethics and her acts reflect this morality; nothing is more important to her that fairness, balance, and justice. She had underdeveloped social skills and is most comfortable talking about work or getting a job done. Thus, she tends to keep people at arm’s length until she becomes entirely comfortable with them.
As women go, she is not overly in-touch with her feminine side and can be described as butch or a tomboy. She has always seen herself as a soldier and highly regards her military training but is more of a peacemaker than a war monger. Though not afraid to put down an enemy when she needs to, she will always try and see an alternative if possible. In this way, her sense of justice can often be thought of as dualistic—fair, but incredibly cruel. Though she speaks forlornly of those lives she’s had to end, she doesn’t seem overly haunted by them, either.
Growing up the only child to a single, military father, Atherva was trained from a young age how to take care of herself and handle a gun. Her military father, who always had a strong sense of scientific betterment, volunteered his daughter to participate in the Savant Project. When the Project was ultimately scrapped as a failure, she returned to the States to live with her father. As an army brat, Atherva quickly became comfortable with the lifestyle. By twelve, she was competing in local sharp-shooting competitions and had her own firearms.
Spending many hours traveling city to city, base to base, Atherva never grew up with many friends as she was the constant ‘new girl’ but that was perfectly fine to her taste. At the age of eighteen, Atherva shot and killed her own father when she discovered he had kidnapped and raped a woman. On the brink of going to jail until the trial against her, the Savant powers set in.
