• Users can create, shape and manipulate fire, the rapid oxidation of a material in the exothermic chemical process of combustion, releasing heat, light, and various reaction products, flame being the visible portion of the fire. Depending on the substances alight, and any impurities outside, the color of the flame and the fire's intensity will be different.

Pyrokinetic Resistance:

• User has incredible resistance to heat and flames with varying degrees of potency and is immune to the effects of one's own flames and the indirect consequences of the flames; its heat, smoke, oxygen deprivation.

Limitations:

• Emotion Control is extremely important. Unconscious use of this power can be catastrophic.
• Distance, mass, precision, etc. dependent upon knowledge, skill, strength of user, and their power's natural limits.
• Oxygen is needed as fuel.
• Prolonged use of this skill may result in significant loss of energy and may result in the user's body shutting down due to fatigue.

• Grace Hargreeves: During their time in the Academy, Mavis had been very close to Mom. Even though she knows she's not a real person and was programmed to fit their needs, she can't help but love the gentle robot.
• Pogo Hargreeves: Something about Pogo always left Mavis feeling unsettled. She loved him as a child living in the Manor, but over time, she realized he was just another pawn in her father's game.
• Reginald Hargreeves: Mavis has always resented her father for the way he treated her siblings. Despite this, she's never managed the courage to confront or publicly defy him. He terrifies her.

• Number Three, Aaron: Mavis is quite fond and a tad overprotective when it comes to Aaron. Two years after their departure from the Academy, Mavis stumbled across Aaron on campus on one of his worse days. Unable to leave the matters alone, Mavis took it upon herself to intervene and acted as an unwavering presence until she was able to finally convince him to seek help. Mavis still reaches out frequently and due to his poor cooking skills, occasionally brings her sibling whatever she had prepared that night.

• Number Five, Mason: Mason tended to be her most over-looked sibling. As children, she would often wonder in the kitchen while he and Mom prepared meals or snacks for the others, mainly just observing. Because of this, when Mavis took up cooking, she'd solely approach Number Five to taste-test. Watching his reaction before deeming the dish suitable or not.
• Number Six, Ben: The death of Number Six had left Mavis devastated. While they weren't too particularly close, Number Six would leave his finished books outside of her door with little notes concealed inside after a rough mission.

• Number Eight, Kate: Growing up, Kate's unwavering confidence in their father had always rubbed her the wrong way, often resulting in Mavis's temper flaring. Despite this, she never failed to return any letters or gifts she received. She feels terrible thinking of Kate being alone at the Academy at the time of their father's passing.
• Number Ten, Maverick: Mavis wasn't particularly close with Maverick. His power has made her extremely nervous as a child and following the loss of Six, Maverick had left to live with relatives of his birth family. At the time, Mavis was envious.

Did your character leave the Academy or did they decide to stick around?

After the death of Number Six, Mavis stuck around for as long as she could possibly handle it. But with the departure of her closest sibling at the age of eighteen, she found each day more difficult than the last. Following a particularly grueling mission with the few remaining children, Number Nine decided that enough had been enough. Despite not having the slightest clue of what to do or where to go, she knew anywhere had to be better than putting up with Dad’s martyr-like agenda. She refused to be his next tragedy.

What have they done since then?

Finally free from the clutches of her father, Mavis felt as if she could breathe for the first time. With nowhere to go and not too keen on bunking with strangers, she was quick to find a job as an office assistant. Sure, her boss could be a major prick, but it supplied enough for Mavis to get on her feet and rent an apartment of her own. She continued to work and save enough to enroll into a local college, where she is currently studying Psychology.

ACADEMY IDENTITYPower: Self-Celluar Generation and Control, the ability to generate additional cells from an unknown source and manipulate existing ones. They are able to use this ability to enhance and alter their physical form to produce a variety of effects the main of which is there superhuman strength and durability but also includes physical transformations and full-body control. Despite the danger, their most impressive ability is the level of cellular regeneration on display on an unconscious level to bring them back from seemingly impossible to survive circumstances. Examination by Reginald has revealed there physiology to be non-euclidean in nature essentially making them far larger and denser within than what normal physics should allow with there form becoming increasingly dense the further to the theorized center one would advance without affecting their relative weight. It is likely that both gained them their group designation and responsible for her level of strength.
Limitations: They may not influence other individual's cells directly, in addition, the existence of power has lead to mental disorders such as Body Dysmorphia, Auto-Sadism, Dissociative Identity Disorder, and more, though these could also be a result of there time within the Academy. Finally, they also hold Increased metabolism and calorie intake.
Skills: A skilled martial combatant experienced in both leveraging their physical ability as well as restraining it to prevent excess collateral. The take the form of multiple martial arts and physical intervention techniques. She has also been known to show skill in acting and persuasions to take advantage of her chosen physical appearance and attributes but keeping a playful demeanor for the most part. It is rare to see them actually angry making the rare moments such breaks through a stark reminder of just what she is capable of.

Relationships:

• Reginald Hargreeves: Constantly seeking his approval and took nearly every action in the best positive light to a delusional degree, seeing it as an expression of love in a somewhat messed up version of an abusive relationship. Deeply devastated by the loss to the point she has even attempted to mimic his voice or pretend he is still around with a strong defense of his former room, routines, and belongings be kept precisely as he would have had them.
• Pogo Hargreeves: Somewhat of an Uncle figure though was prone to hugging and treating him more like an oversized plush at times, commonly attempting to aid in his duties or listening to stories.
• Grace Hargreeves: Bonded closely with her mother, spending time having her hair done in various styles, cooking together, or helping with chores were fond memories. Treats her as if fully human to point of Birthday and Holiday gifts.
• Siblings: With most of her siblings the differing feelings towards their parental figures actions have caused some distance resulting in the topic trying to be changed to avoid conflict or subtle mentions of the good parts of what their parental figures have done. She was one of those to attempt to maintain a positive outlook, being a sunshine ray as much as possible and keep in contact with them all frequently with letters, birthday and Christmas gifts, invites to holiday gatherings, and more despite being accepted or not.

Aaron Hargreeves: Subject to his poisons multiple times though seemingly to a reduced effect rarely receiving a large enough dose for more than a high or feeling weird, despite this still prone to physical contact and hugs. Aided him with the heavy lifting in carpentry and enjoyed his jokes. Her attempts to reduce the drinking would cause some distance and resentment towards the girl especially when she once attempted to swap his beer for nonalcoholic versions with changed labels.

Onyx Hargreeves: Following the death of their brother Ben, Onyx seemed to shut off entirely and purposefully lash out whenever Kate attempted to placate or bond to the point it almost felt like she had lost a second sibling, especially when they left the institute. Still, they had not given up on reaching out to them with messages and gifts sent frequently to their broadway performances.
  5. Mason Hargreeves: Shared many moments as both of them aided around the house as a child and was one of the few to show him true appreciation.
  6. Ben Hargreeves: One of the hardest hit by the loss of him, attempting to turn his former room and belongings as a sanctuary of sorts to him. Appeared to lack the fear of his abilities even following an accident that gave her a severe if a temporary injury that she would commonly joke about casually. During the event that killed him would be one of the only times where she had been seen to lose control causing a rapid evacuation of the rest of the children by Reginald.

Jace Hargreeves: Attempting to encourage Jace in training to the little effect she was constantly trying to keep in touch following his struggles, being prone to paying for bail and trying to be there to help. Due to attempting to help, Kate was unfortunately also one of those who enabled his less positive habits due to being prone to giving him money that funded his vices.

They shared moments with them while cooking and baking though they were sometimes prone to making them uncomfortable when staring or her positive view on the parental figures.

  11. Connor Hargreeves: One of those most aware of the degree and amount of injuries Kate was prone to suffering being used in the training of siblings' power control and taking the brunt of the damage. She has shared a runway several times following him leaving.

A formidable giant of hulking muscle they stand towering far above there piers, though despite this they still manage to maintain heavy feminine curves and even an almost doll-like innocent and youthful face. This contrasts heavily with their physique with a river of brunette hair flowing downwards to their lower back adopted into a myriad of styles with the most common being waved, straight or braided pigtails. Her attire is common custom made due to the sizes required though the material choices frequently ones with a large degree of stretch, rightly fitted and showing off her physique as a point of pride. Said physique however is subject to change as is the rest of her, increasing and decreasing certain attributes to fit the situation, her mood or what she believes would be most appealing for the given moment though normally leaning towards the large side and attention-grabbing.

HISTORYKate has remained part of the Academy since her childhood, finding themselves unable to leave out of fear of losing their identity, the way it had molded there early life it is the one constant they can come back to and as a result become an anchor of sort for them. She has attempted to move out at times though the most she has managed is an apartment across the street, though they have been known to still spend more time within the Academy than there.

Since the disbanding of the core team, however, she has remained to be sent on several of the more dangerous missions due to her sheer durability and happily accepting such out of a belief it is simply what a child is supposed to do and convincing herself that everything Reginald has done has been out of a form of love. In addition to this, however, she has remained in the spotlight somewhat in other areas from modeling, competitive physical competitions such as MMA, and somewhat extreme sports that appear to hold a high chance of injury. She did attempt to enter the field of acting at one point though her commitments at the academy combined with the issues in pretending to be someone else for extended periods of time were stressing her DID result in other complications. Overall she appears to the outside world as one of the more well adjusted of the original group and her comments on their father paint Reginald as an altruistic paragon if a stern and strict parent attempting to do his best when managing so many children.

She would discover the body of her father shortly after her passing and proceed to attempt CPR to revive the man for an extended amount of time until the intervention of Pogo finally getting through to her that he was gone. It would be noted that she had unfortunately caused a degree of damage in the cracking of the deceased man's sternum among other injuries while attempting to revive him. She would remain in the room for an extended period of time and have not spoken further for several days as the message was sent back.

power — electrokinesis: electrokinesis presents itself to the user as the ability to use the mind to create and manipulate pre-existing forms of electricity.

limitations —

→ mental involvement: electrokinesis requires the user to have total control over their emotions, as any presentation of emotional distress can cause the user's power to go completely out of control. the consequences of this can be dire.

→ source: electrokinesis users need a source of electricity, no matter how small, for their power to function. so, if a user of electrokinesis was placed in a room devoid of any form of electricity, their power would either be greatly subdued, or completely absent.

→ blockages: users of electrokinesis are presented with the same problems electricity brings among itself. for example, if an electrokinetic was presented with a magnet, the magnet would absorb the electricity the user generates.

→ overload: just like a power cord exposed to much electricity, an electrokinetic can overload. if a user of electrokinesis bypasses the limit of their ability, it can render their cognitive and bodily function severely limited for an indeterminate amount of time.

relationships —

→ sam hargreeves, 'the cloud': jace and sam had never gotten along, even as children. they had extremely conflicting views on the hargeeves family, with sam always viewing the family as 'perfect', while jace viewed it with a cold and critical eye. their relationship could be described as 'opposite views lead to opposite values', seeing as the two argued on a consistent basis, with jace lashing out and sam turning the cold shoulder. he refuses to contact her, even when he gets the chance.

→ lydia hargreeves, 'the mind': jace and lydia had never gotten along. jace felt pure jealousy for how the girl could be happy and cheerful with such an utter lack of effort, and get along with almost all the siblings with no struggle. he antagonized her on a constant basis, perhaps to create more distance and be the sibling lydia simply couldn't click with, no matter how hard she tried. he wouldn't be opposed to repairing their relationship, since he can see past his childish ways.

→ onyx hargreeves, 'the vibe': jace is extremely close to onyx, even though it didn't start off that way. before ben's death, the two were relatively indifferent towards eachother. jace never harbored a strong feeling of resentment or an overt sibling bond, onyx was just... there, to him. however, after ben's death, they became much closer. he kept in contact with her after they left, a day apart, but no longer reached out after his addictions consumed him.

→ ben hargreeves, 'the horror': jace and ben got along like siblings. they fought, and they made up; that was the gist of it. they were never particularly close, but that didn't mean that ben's death didn't hit jace like a truck. the hargeeves siblings only had each other, and to lose one of their own was absolutely devastating. it compounded with jace's already growing mental problems, and ben's death was one of the main catalysts for jace's early leave of the academy.

→ kate hargreeves, 'the body': jace and kate have a strange sort of relationship. kate is extremely supportive, and jace loves her dearly for it, though he also takes advantage of her pity by using the money she pays for bail to indulge in his vices. he always feels a guilt in his core when he takes this route, seeing as kate had always supported him, even in their younger years, but his selfishness always overrides his sense of fault.

→ maverick hargeeves, 'the grim': jace despised maverick. he saw the other boy as a 'snitch', who would constantly tell their father about the trouble jace caused within the family. he refuses to contact maverick, still harboring resentment for his brother, in the mean that he believes maverick is one of the reasons reginald hated him.

→ grace hargeeves: jace was never particularly close to his 'mother', seeing as he knew she was an android and any affection she showed was pre-programmed. however, he can't deny he enjoyed the android's positive attention as opposed to reginald's own parenting methods.

→ reginald hargreeves: jace despises his 'father', refusing to address the umbrella academy headmaster as a paternal figure in any way. reginald, in jace's own words, was a 'narcissistic piece of shit' in the boy's eyes. he hates him, and he's loathe to ever change his opinion.

→ pogo hargeeves: jace never really had an opinion on the family chimpanzee. he simply saw him as an ally of his father's, and chose not to interact with pogo on that front.

HISTORY //

jace, while he was in the academy, was insolent. he knew reginald only harbored him and his 'siblings' for their powers, so why should the man get any respect from him or the others? he was purposefully lackluster within training, which made jace one of the children reginald would consider 'lower caliber'. hell, he would most likely be a higher ranking if he'd followed the rules. after ben died, it only debilitated jace's tolerance for his father further, which was when he got into the first of what would be one of his many vices: smoking. jace was one of the first children to leave the academy, having been forming the plan for his departure from the hargreeves family since he was in his early preteens. on his seventeenth birthday, jace left in the middle of the night, not telling anyone he was leaving prior to his departure in a bid to make sure nobody found him. jace wanted his independence from the hargreeves, and what good would it do if the others knew he had left and, more crucially, where he was going? jace, now on his own with no support system, managed to make himself a steady living by taking odd jobs here and there. however, they never lasted, either ending with jace being fired for his bad behavior, or him quitting when he thought working conditions were unfair. when jace was nineteen, he finally landed a permanent job in a local coffee shop as a barista and met a lovely girl, of whom he eventually began dating. everything was going steadily: the two had their own apartment, and his girlfriend had just recently gotten a higher-paying job at a business firm. then, his girlfriend passed suddenly from a debilitating illness, which is when jace completely fell apart. he got into the worst of habits, and fell into the wrong crowd: he started drinking and doing drugs, frequently ending up in jail for narcotic usage, sometimes for weeks on end. when he was in jail once again, he got a phone call: reginald was dead.

he's convinced himself he's only going back to get his life together.

┖ aaron can cause his victims to hallucinate in various ways. the most common of which, and the only way he currently is aware of, is being able to mask his real appearance with a fake one, which is then perceived by the victim as being real. this is temporary depending on how much venom he was able to transfer to the target, but in many cases they never lived to see it through.

-- "the user possesses venom that is coated in/secreted by their skin, fangs, claws, tongue, etc., which can extend to their target upon contact. the poison can have a variety of effects, ranging from sedation, paralysis, mutation and instant death."
┖ aaron must touch his victims in order to transfer the venomous substance, which is also the only way in which he can induce the aforementioned hallucinations. as a child he would mistakenly poison (lemme know if this is okay with you guys IC) his siblings by throwing tantrums, in which he would push or grab them-- as toddlers do. as he grew older he learned how to control this ability. the pores in his skin harbor micro-doses of the poison, which is then secreted at will, and transferred by touch into the pores of others. in small amounts, as was the case in his childhood, the venom would cause migraines, dizziness, nausea, and fainting. in his teen years it came in handy when one (or many) of his siblings wanted to fake illness in order to get out of training. he is not able to use it on himself (thankfully).

┖ aaron's abilities may be fascinating, but he is often fatigued by the effort it takes to enact them for long periods of time. much like the effects of his venom on others, he is prone to vertigo, headaches, unsteadiness, and confusion following long periods of use. because of the nature of his abilities, he requires near constant hydration and management of his blood sugar levels, as not having enough liquid or carbohydrates in his system can mean decreased ability to use his powers. as a youth he was often fawned over by their mother, who would often have to remind him to eat and drink for fear of aaron being caught off guard by surprise training/missions/attacks, and not being prepared to give it his all.

• closest with mavis, as she helped him in one of the most difficult times in his life.
• feels a sort of kinship with maverick due to their abilities.
• grace, his mother, was his closest confidante along with pogo. aaron would often feel sad at the fact that his mother wasn't actually real, but maintains that it doesn't truly matter. having a mother's love-- real or imagined-- is all a child needs. as a teenager he resented his father for creating her, as if he hadn't, he and his siblings wouldn't have to live with the fact that she's a robot and nothing more.
• even while in the throes of his own addiction he was the first one to help when called upon, aside from mason.
• was always close with connor; seeing him as more of a brother than the other boys. maybe it was because they're similar in many ways on a physical level, but emotionally they're not too different either.
• is secretly in the process of locating his biological mother, but is yet to have any sort of relationship with her

history & persona.
aaron was born in 1999 in thailand to a young woman in her twenties. the event was particularly traumatic, and in the absolute chaos and confusion that his birth brought, his mother had little difficulty putting him in the care of sir reginald hargreeves. as an infant, aaron's abilities showed themsleves rather quickly. his nannies would mysteriously fall ill (or drop dead) at the slightest of touches, leading reginald to place him in the care of their mother; a good addition for all of the children being that their powers were so unpredictable. as a toddler he was prone to upset, and could be very physical when he didn't get his way. this led to a lot of unintentionally hurting his siblings, which reginal quickly curbed by constructing a "safe room" so to speak when aaron needed to be isolated for this purpose. out of fear of not being able to interact with the others, aaron learned to behave. something he began to believe at this time was that physical contact was 'bad,' and even as an adult who can control his abilities, he is still wary with any type of touch.

his childhood and teen years were a mixed bag. ages eight to twelve were relatively normal. he was able to hone his abilities and serve as a benefit to the group when on missions. aaron felt as though this gave him an edge against his siblings, and he liked the attention it brought him from his father. this favor, however, didn't last long. as he entered adolescence, aaron suffered the loss of his brother, as well as increasing competition with his siblings. he was grieving as they all were, but pretty soon found that he didn't bounce back like normal. daddy hargreeves picked up on aaron's struggles almost before aaron himself did. instead of offering to help him, he would often leave aaron to his own devices, exclude him from missions, and take a smaller role in his training. feeling discarded and unworthy, aaron fell into alcoholism. in this time he withdrew from the formerly energetic and witty child he had been. introversion clouded his former self, and he developed selective mutism in the process-- only speaking when needed, and often going quiet under stressful conditions.

he left at eighteen and continued to struggle with addiction until age twenty, when mavis intervened. with great but not futile difficulty she was able to get him into treatment. before long he was free of his alcoholism and most of the depression, but some aspects still remained. years of trauma left aaron subdued, reserved, and much more introspective than he had been. his relationships with his siblings have suffered because of his past, but he hopes to rebuild them if possible. he is mostly regarded as a helpful and kind, but melancholy young man. in his free time he sings as the front man for a small band, and is studying to be a youth counselor, specifically as it pertains to adolescent addiction and mental wellness. aaron makes money by working part-time at a community center for foster kids.

Limitations: When Maverick is transformed, he gets a dangerous emotional high that impairs his decision-making skills, making him aggressive and reckless. Maverick's oxygen demands also increase and can sometimes outpace his intake, so he can't maintain the form for very long once he starts exerting himself.

Relationships:
(Reginald, Grace, and Pogo) Maverick used to cling to the three authority figures in the house when he was young and would snitch on his siblings in hopes of earning their favor. He soon learned that his father wouldn't reward him for doing what he was expected to do, his mother wasn't programmed to give the attention he wanted, and Pogo was on the side of his siblings. Maverick stopped trying to be the goody-two-shoes after that. He never really resolved his feelings about them, instead putting all of it out of his mind.
(Siblings) Maverick's tattletale streak, frightening powers, and poor performance in the hero department made him often the odd one out of the Hargreeves kids. He was never that close with any of his ten siblings growing up, and leaving earlier than anyone else probably didn't make him any closer.

• (Sam) Maverick used to share in Sam's enthusiasm for being a superhero, but when they actually started doing superhero work and Maverick began to fall behind, he started to put walls between them.
• (Lydia) Maverick got along fairly well with Lydia, for the most part, but he was always a little jealous of her not having to be in the line of fire as well as always having Onyx watching her back.

He was already not the most helpful during missions, but after Ben's death, his performance tanked even further. He discovered that he had an aunt and uncle living on the other side of the country who wanted to take custody of Maverick after his biological mother died in childbirth. They got their custody.

What have they done since then? - Maverick's aunt and uncle tried to give him a few years' worth of a normal highschool experience, but it didn't work out. He eventually went through college, but ditched his major in favor of a quiet job at a library that allowed him time to play vigilante in his off-hours.

How did they find out about the passing of their father? - Maverick had overheard some of the library patrons discussing his father's death. He had made a point of not keeping up with the whereabouts and doings of his family, (which was pretty difficult given how many of them were public figures) but this event got to him. He flew into town, for closure, if nothing else.

• Connor has the ability to influence, manipulate, move objects, and matter at the molecular level. Telekinesis is one of the powers with the greatest amount of possibility since there are so many different ways telekinesis can be used. Connor knows very little about his own capabilities, and as he practices in his own free time, he learns more and more about them. Right now, he can fly, although sparingly. He can stop a flying object, or launch it towards someone. He can even perform minor transmutation, (Shifting the molecules of an object and turning it into another object).

Limitations:

• Size is his biggest limitation. The larger the object the harder it is to control.
• Connor also has trouble controlling organic molecules, or people. Similar restrictions for people, the bigger they are, the harder to control. Connor has worked around the limitations, if someone is running at him, he can use his power to hold their foot down and trip them up rather than stopping their whole body.
• Connor is still getting control over his abilities when he is emotional. When he is sad or depressed, objects usually drift closer to him, when he is angry objects are pushed away with force.
• Connor is also limited by his own physical strength. Because he is often using telekinesis to move objects, he can only move an object that he himself can lift as if he was picking it up. If he were to struggle to pick an object up with his hands, the same would be said for his telekinesis. (His father used to say that once he got strong enough mentally, that would change but so far nothing has.)

Connor is a very quiet individual, but even he has his moments of being outspoken. Connor spent a lot of time allowing the words of his father to negatively impact his self-confidence and his general opinion about himself. It made him rude, brash, and hotheaded to those outside of his family and his close friend. But he often finds that when around those he loves and cares about and they return those feelings he is quick to speak his mind and ensure that he is being heard and seen, even if it might make him seem somewhat standoffish and rude. Connor has never held any sort of resentment towards his siblings, understanding that they were in the same situation and made the choices they made to adapt to the situation. He flourished when he left, allowed to live how he wanted to, was liberating for him.

Connor struggled when it came to leaving the Academy. For one he felt like his father could teach him more control over his abilities. But he also felt like he needed to live a normal life, away from the academy. So when he turned 18 he left the academy and got his GED, and went to college, where he studied communication and media and graduated in three years.

What have they done since then?

After graduating, Connor looked around for a job for about a year, after graduating from university, before being approached by an agent to be a model. Something he never thought he’d see himself doing. But willingly accepted since he wasn’t going to ask his father for money, and money was tight. Since then he has been working as a model all around the world.

How did they find out about the passing of their father?

His agent called him, saying that someone left a message for him, with the news of his fathers passing.

The least rowdy of the bunch, Mason, found out at a very young age that his needs and opinions came second to last in terms of the mission, and like any child with a frightful parent, he went along with it. There was no reason to fight back. He placed himself last to any matter including his siblings. He would end up being like a big brother but to them in the sense that he was easy to talk to. All secrets were safe with him. He would also be there for the little things for each one of his siblings even if it was a thankless job. This made him believe he was lesser than others or at least of less importance. Mason found support in some of his family members but it did not change how he felt at least not completely.

He was close to their mother despite what she was and even became mommy’s little helper around the house to his father’s dismay. Grace taught him grace, cooking, and other practical skills. Pogo inspired his love for books, science, and philosophy. He found him to be like the father he wished he had. Smart, capable, and kind.

What have they done since then? At first, he worked the streets degrading himself for the highest bidder. This led him to many exotic locations with equally exotic clientele where he ultimately left the business entirely in pursuit of enlightenment in Tibet.

How did they find out about the passing of their father? The news of a famous dead billionaire with superpowered kids spreads fast even in the mountains.

  Lydia stuck around for a bit after Ben Died only because she thought that she was doing the right thing. After one particularly hard mission, Lydia was left scarred and she left. It just became to much to her. She left at the same time that Onix did.

  At first Lydia had no clue what to do but one day she was walking down the street and someone asked if she would like to take part in a photoshoot. She thought why not and before she knew it she had modeling gigs lined up for the next three years and then some.
  How did they find out about the passing of their father?
  She received the news at one of her shoots, of course, she had been shocked and had been a little hesitant to go home for the funeral. When she finally decided to go back because she felt maybe her siblings would need her she caught a flight home.

  Grace Hargreeves - Lydia wasn't really all that fond of Grace at first, the way that she smiled was so different from what she had received from her father. Eventually, she came to love Grace and would call her mom. Of course, she knew that she was only programmed to take her and her siblings but it was nice to have someone that cared.
  
  Reginald Hargreeves - She was always afraid of the man and never truly thought that he loved her. When Ben died any hope that he would love any of them. As a child, she pined for his affection wanting to be held and played with but learned very early that the man wasn't capable of affection.
  
  Pogo - Lydia was very close to Pogo from the very beginning, he took care of her and would treat her like a child at certain times. He played games with her and her siblings and when Ben died she would leave peanut butter sandwiches because she thought he would eat them. Pogo would take them to the kitchen, take a bite and leave it there to give her a little hope.

  (#1) Sam "The Cloud" - She loved her brother and their relationship was only second to that of her and Conners. When they were little Sam and Lydia had rooms right next to each other. She would listen to his stories and one day the two of them decided that they would make an imaginary world that only the two of them knew about. When Lydia left with Onix she made sure to keep in touch with Sam because they were so close and it pained her to leave him behind but she needed to leave for her own well being.
  
  (#3) Aaron "The Serpent" - Due to Aaron’s ability and to him being called the serpent by her father and that coupled with Lydia’s fear of snakes she was never able to really be close to him. It was the cause of many fights between the two of them because she had an irrational fear of his ability.
  
  (#4) Onix "The Vibe" - Onix and Lydia were pretty inseparable all of their lives. Lydia started to act out when Onix did and the two of them left the Academy at the same time. She really thinks of Onix as her sister and would do anything to protect her. Though it’s normally the other way around.
  
  (#5) Mason "The Bastion" - She wasn’t as close to Mason as she was to some of her siblings, though she would often come to him to help her heal the cuts and bruises that she got from being a clumsy child. She sometimes would watch him interact with their mother and sometimes even tried the food that they would make.
  
  (#6) Ben "The Horror" (Deceased) - She wasn’t really all that close to Ben, but it did give her a shock to reality when he died. That was when she realized that Reginald Hargreeves didn’t love any of them not really. That’s why when he died she started to act out.

As they grew older Lydia began to Rebel which put a damper on the two's relationship. When Onix and Lydia left, Lydia tried her best to stay in contact with Mavis because she felt bad about leaving her behind.

  (#11) Connor “The Defender” - Of her brothers, Lydia was probably closest to Conner. Lydia and Conner were actually quite close as children, they would often climb up onto the roof and just look at the stars.   Sound manipulation-
  
  • User can create, shape, and manipulate sounds. The user can also mimic, intensify, hush, distort, warp, strengthen, echo, speed up, and slow down sound the sound not only around her in the environment, but also that comes from her body naturally. At low frequencies, sound can be potentially fatal to living beings by causing internal damage, while high frequencies cannot be heard by normal humans but can be used for sonar-like effects. Since sound vibrations can travel through the air, ground, water and any form of medium, defense by using physical barriers is difficult. Applications include sonic waves, voice manipulation, and it can give the illusion of enhanced hearing.
  Limitations:
  
  • -Must have a medium to travel through (air, water, ground) Though some medium are increasingly difficult for her to do such as water and ground. If she's in a vacuum like space nothing happens.
  • -If she is targeting someone that person must be able to hear her to be affected, so if they are wearing something to block out the sound or are deaf then it's not effective.
  • -Continuous use of her voice will cause her to get a sore throat, and if used to much she can temporarily lose her voice.
  • -She only has about a 30 ft. range of affect. She can't alter the sounds of anything outside of that, and that's at her max strength with intense focus. Her average is about 15 ft.
  • -While she can mimic sounds, she doesn't have a perfect memory she must actually know and remember how something sounds to copy it.
  • -Only when she is turning sound waves into a physical force like a sonic scream is it physically draining to her, but it's extremely so since she doesn't train at this often.

  Grace Hargreeves- While Onyx appreciated the loving like hand of their "mother" and would never dream of disrespecting her...she kept it alive in her heart that this wasn't in fact her mother. It left a bit of a bitter taste in her mouth the fact that her real mother had given her up, and apparently the only motherly figure that could love her was something programmed to do it considering their only human caregiver their father was well....
  
  Reginald Hargreeves- A total piece of shit. Onyx holds no love or respect for this man. She at first thought that maybe he was just a guarded man who didn't know how to express love, but after the death of #6 didn't even phase him as the children were still sent to go on missions as if their lives didn't matter? That delusion quickly shattered and she started acting out by getting piercings, skipping training, ect. This would often get her punished, but that just fueled the anger.
  
  Pogo Hargreeves- She felt similar about him as she did their mother. He cared because he had to, because he was told to in her mind and that's not real love. As far as she's concerned other then the affection given to her by siblings, she's never truly known what it means to be loved. The only difference was since Pogo was still an animal she had a soft spot for him.
  
  Siblings:
  (#1) Sam" The Cloud"- The two have been on great terms due to their insentient need to please their father, but it wasn't bad. However things changed for the worst after #6 death. Since they still couldn't see their father for what he was and she began openly rebelling they talked less and less until they were avoiding her all together which Onyx couldn't say she missed. If they wanted to be in denial she couldn't stop them. When she left the house she lost contact and never thought twice about it.
  
  (#2) Lydia "The Mind"- Lydia and Onyx have always been really close, in fact of all her siblings she is the closest one, and considers her a best friend as well as a sister. Even once Onyx started rebelling Lydia stayed by her side, and even joined her. Once Onyx had enough of the mansion and decided to leave she asked Lydia to come with her, and was excited when she said yes. Together they left their old lives behind and started a new journey together.
  
  (#3) Aaron "The Serpent"- The two shared a strong bond when they were younger over their love for music, and frequently would help each other write songs, and talk about it. However this came to an end after #6 death. Both dealt with the grief in their own way, but it created a rift between them. She'd often share her poetry and writing with him knowing he wouldn't judge her for it. She was heartbroken when he decided to leave, but it fueled more anger towards their father since she believed he was the main problem not Mason. She felt like the man had now cost her two of her brothers especially since she wasn't ever able to get in contact with him again.
  
  (#6) Ben "The Horror" (Deceased)- She wasn't particularly close to Ben, but he was her brother and she loved him. His death was the catalyst to her change in behavior. She'd always felt like their father didn't really care for them, but held out hope he was just misunderstood. That hope died when Ben did.
  
  (#7) Jace “The Current”- While originally pretty neutral to one another after #6 death the two grew closer due to Onyx now seeing their father in the same light. She was a lot more vocal in her support of him from that point forward, and it was no surprise that she and Lydia left the day after he did. Jace is one of the few siblings she kept in touch with after leaving.
  
  (#8) Kate "The Body"- In their early years her and Kate where fine, they could disagree as sisters do, but things were normal. After #6 death things changed since Onyx no longer wanted to listen to Kate and her pleads to behave, or her belief in father and the things they were doing. She believed her to be brainwashed and that sadly there might not be much she could do. She often ignored her, talked back to her, or just did the opposite of what she'd say especially if it was something for their father. She lost contact immediately after leaving the mansion and never looked back.
  
  (#9) Mavis "The Firecracker"- She got along pretty well with Mavis as she did most of her siblings for the majority of her youth. She'd be a great audience for impromptu performances and secret karaoke nights. However after leaving the mansion she regretted loosing contact with her due to this. She felt bad for leaving her there, but she couldn't take it anymore.
  
  (#10) Maverick "The Grim"- the two were on pretty neutral terms as far as siblings go. they didn't really have enough in common to want to hang out more then needed or anything. However that doesn't mean she didn't feel bad when he left especially so early. All things considered it was probably for the best, at least that's what she told herself. That he was lucky he was the first out the door.
  
  (#11) Connor “The Defender”- Her an Connor have gotten along fine even when they were younger, and despite the death of #6. He wanted to lead a more normal life, and she wanted a life where someone cared if they lived or died, so the outcome of what they wanted stayed the same. They lost touch once she left as she did with many of her siblings, but luckily enough was able to reconnect at least marginally due to him entering in the same profession as Lydia. They still don't talk much, but they do see each other from time to time.

• Did your character leave the Academy or did they decide to stick around?
  After the death of their brother confirmed what she already felt in her heart, that was the fact that their "father" had no real love for them, it was difficult for her to focus on missions. She tried her best for her siblings sake, but the day after their 17th birthday she'd had enough and left. She decided fighting wasn't the way she wanted the world to remember her name anymore.
  
  What have they done since then?
  She left to pursue her passion of music and the arts, and found a theater trope willing to take her in. She trained under them, got her GED, and auditioned for a lot of minor roles in things until she got her big Broadway role at 20 years old. The show became such a hit she gained quite a bit of fame off of it. For the next couple years she toured the show, as well as landed a few other roles trying to break into the world of television. Someday she wants to record an album of her own.
  
  How did they find out about the passing of their father?
  She found out at first from a tabloid, but thought it was fake until one of her cast mates told her that it was in fact true. She still didn't decide to go back until she was being interviewed on a radio show and was asked about it. She felt kind of guilty when she was about to say she wasn't going to return for the funeral, not to mention that could possibly hurt her image being seen as heartless since it's not like any of them would understand why. So she told them she was...and she doesn't like to seem like a liar, so here she is.

  ACADEMY IDENTITY
  Power: Unstable mulecular structure - Their cells are not arranged in a fixed order, which is what makes them basically a cloud of dust. They can change their density and form (from a body to a cloud of dust), which allows them to phase through small holes (like key holes).
  Keeping the cells together costs a massive amount of energy, which is why they have to inject a specific combination of glucose and other cell fuel every 6 hours to keep their body from falling apart.
  
  Limitations:
  Their body is very unstable. Even though the glucose fluid keeps their physical form intact, one can often see their face blur or minor details (like freckles) change position all of sudden.
  It takes ultimate focus and a lot of energy to keep up a solid form without the glucose injections. Having to keep it up for too long will cause massive headaches, blurring of their body and ultimately to them losing consciousness.
  They can change their form and density, but not their mass.

  Grace Hargreeves: Sam loves their Mom. They always pretended that she was a real human, because they couldn't stand the fact that she was just a robot "without feelings", as they view it. Thhey really want to believe that Grace is a loving human being, who does things out of compassion and not out of programming.
  
  Reginald Hargreeves: Father. He is their biggest idol. Always calm and collected, never emotional or insecure. He always knows what to say and do and, unlike Sam, knows exactly who they are and what they want. Reginald has always been very demanding, pushing Sam to their limits, until utter exhaustion. One day, the insecure child swore to themselves that they would be like father. But it was a hell of an example to live up to... And it hasn't really happened, yet.
  
  Pogo Hargreeves: Pogo has just... been there. They never really knew what to do around him, because he's a monkey... and kind of scary. They never really developed a relationship with him, apart from coexisting with him and eyeing him suspiciously.
  
  Number Two, Lydia "The Mind": Lydia loves stories and Sam loves to tell them, so it's only natural that they'd get along fine. Especially when they had a traumatic experience, Sam would seek comfort in his and Lydia's small world, where nothing was that bad, their family wasn't broken and they were real superheroes, who could save everyone. Those stories have given Sam security, but they have also, to a certain extent, blurred their view of reality. When their sister suddenly left, Sam found themselves confronted with reality, unable to live in their little world anymore. Lydia's offer to join her going away was fearfully declined. Sam thought that they were too abnormal for a life outside the walls of the academy. When Sam needs comfort, they still call Lydia and tell her a story.
  
  Number Three, Aaron "The Serpent": Sam has always been close to Aaron. Their similar personality and their somewhat self harming powers lead to them seeing each other as friends and siblings. They would often talk for hours when they had been children, but they somehow grew apart when Aaron started drinking. On many occasions, Sam tried to help their brother out of the mess that he was in, but they didn't have the people skills to actually do something. When Aaron left for college, they parted on good terms and Sam knows that even though they barely talk, they can always turn to Aaron for help.
  
  Number Four, Onyx "The Vibe": As children, they had been friendly rivals, but always on the same side of things, but that changed when Ben died. Onyx started rebelling and Sam felt like she was disturbing the peace (most likely because she was about to pop his self made bubble of innocence). So, when Onyx left, Sam was relieved. What made him sad (and a little jealous) was the fact that she took Lydia with her.
  
  Number Five, Mason "The Bastion": He has, on many occasions, helped Sam to calm down when they had been in a spiral of disappointment and self resentment. Especially when they had been children, Mason had helped Sam with keeping heir solid form (or changed them back, after they had fallen apart again). They had also been trained together, sometimes shared clothes. Mason gave Sam some kind of home, a place where they belonged. When he left the academy, Sam was devastated, but they quickly found a way to stay in contact. First through monthly phonecalls and then through mail, they keep each other up to date.

  Number Eleven, Connor “The Defender”: No one really knows why, but from the day that they had met each other, Connor and Sam had been fighting constantly. A toy, the place at the dinner table, or just something that Sam had said about someone. Usually, Sam would rather keep their mouth shut than start a fight, but with Connor, they are snarky, sarcastic and stubborn, which will usually trigger the hothead Connor into lashing out.

  Sam stuck around until the bitter ending. They didn't really know where to go, since they weren't exactly suitable for a normal life of any kind. They have never lived in the outside of the walls of the academy, but they have been working as a book author from home.

  Under a fake name, they write books about the adventures of the Umbrella Academy Kids, specifically written for the teen section of the library.
