AQUA & AZURO
Day one of High School. Aqua's violet eyes glittered with awe as she and her brother waded through crowds of students. She was nervous as hell. She'd been less than popular in Middle School, due to being as shy as a mole. She inadvertently ended up rejecting all attempts made by others to befriend her. Before school had started, the twins' father had stopped by Japan, a rarity and a delight. He had a way of inspiring Aqua to become perfect. It was a fool's errand but the girl was too young to realize this.
She would be sociable. She would be charismatic. The other students would love her. If she truly wanted to follow in her fathers' footsteps she was going to have to come out of her shell and network with her peers. So far it wasn't going so well, as she clung to her old habits of sticking to Azuro like white on rice. She held his wrist, practically dragging the boy behind her.
"Sis -- sorry!-- slow d-- my bad! -- down!" the boy could barely get the words out between apologizing to the people crashing into him and his own elated laughter. Azuro tended to be more easygoing and naive. He was better at making friends than Aqua, because he didn't really have to make a conscious effort to do so. He was a likable guy, and the few friends Aqua did have were also her brother's friends.
"I don't want you to get lost on the way to homeroom!" It was a legitimate concern, as Azuro had gotten lost on their first day of Middle School. The boy was found sitting against a locker on the opposite side of school, crying because he wasn't sure where his sister was. However, they'd both done a lot of growing since then, and Aqua towed Azuro along because she didn't want to get lost alone.
Azuro was a little dense, but he was pretty good at sensing the energies of others, especially Aqua. He could tell she was nervous, and so he indulged her tugging. The boy couldn't care less about High School, he thought of it as a "harder Middle School" and he knew he'd end up copying all of Aqua's homework and failing tests. His only concern was which sport he wanted to play while he was here. He'd played baseball in Middle School, and he was quite good at it, but he'd recently taken an interest in basketball.
The twins had sat together for the opening ceremony, Aqua listening intently, Azuro looking around the building and daydreaming. When it was time to go, Aqua held both of their booklets, knowing Azuro would lose his, and began to search for their homeroom class, 1A. At first glance the two of them didn't look related, let alone twins. Aqua had shiny blue hair, and forlorn purple eyes, while Azuro inherited their mother's strange unnatural looking black and red hair with ocean blue eyes.
Azuro followed behind his sister, smiling and waving at strangers that made eye contact with him, as Aqua buried her nose in the school map in search of room 1A.
