It's nice to meet everyone, or at least I hope it will be. At the end of this, I may be the kid you hang up on a flagpole by his underwear.


I'll introduce myself as SlowInfect as the name given to me by the Elder Gods is not pronounceable without seven tongues.


Since moving away from my recurrent RP group, I've had deep thirst to get back into role-playing; but a busy schedule has prevented me from loitering in local hobby shops. Hence, here I am.

Thank you. I'm glad to be here. I'm rather rusty on forum RPs so I'll use you two as a surrogate in apologizing to the community about it. *big sigh of relief from a clear conscious*


I suppose I'll be rampantly searching through the particular etiquette and RP format of this site for the next few days. Any quick tips that either of you can give me?

My tip is to check the forums, find an RP that piques your interest, and join in! I actually started out with a 1 x 1 with another new member the day I signed up. That's been a lot of fun. Then I found two group RPs that were just starting up and joined them too! It's been loads of fun for me so far, especially as I am new to forum RP, although I've done other forms.

Is there any general consensus about formatting? (e.g. people using bold lettering or actions or the like) Any particular threads to discuss that which you can point me to?

So far from my exploration, formatting seems to be a personal choice. Although, some RPs might have specific BBcode or fonts, etc. that they may wish for everyone in the RP to use. In that case, it would be listed in the overview of the RP. The ones I'm personally involved in right now have no restrictions in that regard.

Now then, I know that you have to answers that you're wanting answered now and the first is, you can join any RP that is open. You can find the different RP genres here: Roleplays | RpNation.com - Best Roleplay Forum


They're set up by genre so if you're looking for that Belgariad fandom RP (sorry, none yet exists here) then you'll know you aren't going to be looking in the futuristic genre. Each genre has an interest check at the top of the page and you can peruse this to see if anyone is wanting to create an RP.


If you are trolling the RPs and you just gotta make your own futuristic version of the Elenium, then you can pick the genre (future or fandom? I don't know!) and create an interest check. In the interest check you can tell the whole world about your RP and what you want to do with it. If you get enough people to say Aye! then you create your RP.
