thea can easily be described as the mom friend, though she doesn't genuinely have many friends. she will care for anyone she meets like they are her family, since she doesn't exactly have one. she's been known to carry snacks for her classmates, just in case they need anything. she's a sweetheart and incredibly kind hearted, so she will always be a shoulder to cry on for anyone.

she's also incredibly fake. sure, she always seems happy and optimistic, but really she just doesn't want to get close to anyone. she just cares for everyone, whether or not she actually likes them. she just pretends to like everyone, since she doesn't want to get close enough that anyone knows her opinions. people can know trivial things, like her favorite color or animal, but when it comes to things that genuinely make her happy or upset, no one really knows.

Her relationship with her mother is strained, to say the least. She always wanted the perfect academic daughter, but Thea's never been interested in that. The two of them don't interact much and when they do, they often will clash. Despite this, Thea tries her best to appear as the perfect daughter when in public, for the sake of her mother's reputation. However, this doesn't mean that she does everything her mother wishes of her. Elaine also has a tendency to neglect her daughter's interests and activities, for the sake of her sibling's.

Dad - Derrick Bowen
Thea has a much better relationship with her father. The two of them are fairly close, though he doesn't pretend to understand his daughter or her hobbies. He still shows up, which is more then she can say of her mother. These two watch movies together often and do genuinely enjoy spending time with one another.

If you went to school, you knew them. They were a smiling, happy face involved in every single club and every single after school activity. They stayed out of trouble, but mainly they tried their best to do literally anything and everything to get a full scholarship ride to college. Maybe they poured their life into a sport by spending their entire breathing time to working out, or maybe they over-did literally everything to build a resume since their parents gave birth to them. Or maybe, just maybe, it's their parents' money secretly paying for the whole facade. Regardless, they'll always boast about their ivy-league dreams while getting wasted in someone's basement, waiting for it all to fall apart if they were to get caught.

Ashley's Place
A restaurant in the business sector known for their diner atmosphere and delicious burgers. It's mostly frequented by church-going elders in the mornings and during school, and just after lunch it caters to all crowds alike. In the mornings, the owners, Charlie Paulson and Ashley Paulson, a tall woman with frizzy-wild hair and a short man with a stocky build, run the place, but they resign management to Sloane Harper after 7 p.m on Thursday-Saturday. After 4 p.m., the establishment attracts more teens looking for a hang-out space than anything else, and after 9 p.m., it attracts the delinquent crowd that is only shooed out should they cause trouble for the staff or other patrons. They have a sturdy ping-pong table and air hockey table in a small room to the back, separate from the dining area that's locked until 11:30 a.m. Their diner looks somewhat modern, but it was built out of an old warehouse building. They worked with what they had to open it up, and it shows, but the food is impeccable and everything is home made. The diner is closed on Sundays.

A community of nicely-built new age homes in a suburb community just outside the business sector and a subdivision of Greenwich Hills. All of the houses are less than five years old, and the minimum bedroom count in every one is four. The community itself is small, with only ten or so houses due to the size of them, and most that live in it know each other rather well. Most of the houses have an amenity in their back yard, such as a swimming pool, a hot tub, a sauna, or etc. All of the lawns are neatly kept by paid gardeners and each house flourishes with a small flower garden out front. Every house sports a two-car garage and a spacious design, calling the richer sects of the town.

Secretly, she loves the idea of the delinquent life and wants to throw away what she has for a little thrill.

Sloane grew up in a rich family, and she always knew as a little girl that big things were expected of her. Her mother, Kolleen, wanted her to be a lawyer. Her father, Randal, wanted her to be a doctor. Sloane decided on the latter at a young age. She grew up in a household as the only child in a loving family. Her mom was a stay-at-home mom and raised Sloane as their only daughter, and her father was a head pharmacist at the biggest pharmacy in town. The main companion her size she took on at the age of 12 was Cookie, an Australian Shephard dog with a very loveable temperament. Cookie would probably roll over and ask for belly rubs from a burglar.

Sloane excelled in school, always getting As and being involved in every club she could get into. She was in the academic team, a cheerleader, and on the student council as well as being the Vice President of the class a time or two. She got her job at Ashley's place Thursday through Saturday at the age of 16, and just six months later, they promoted her to night manager. On Sundays-Wednesdays, she devotes this time to club activities and night college classes, of which she's already taken enough to get her basics over with.

However, recently, Sloane's been letting it slip. She's been showing up for work and school activities, but she's neglected almost all of her college work and most of her high school work this semester before the world was cut off. She's been hiding it from everyone and planning to fix it, but she's extremely burnt out and it just keeps piling up into a worse and worse mess.

The Basket Case
One school has at least one. The kid on the edge of dropping out, smoking weed in the bathroom, and swimming in demerits. They're one-punishment away from getting kicked out of school and everyone knows at least one crude, mean rumor about them. Unlike a Rebel or a Delinquent generally does, The Basket Case is more likely to crack and cry under pressure and lock themselves away. Mostly they can be found avoiding school events, ditching class with the delinquents in a desperate attempt to fit in, or acting out to get attention just to crumble at the repurcussions. They're a falling apart mess of emotions fighting the world at all odds, and boy, did the universe ever deal them a really shitty hand of cards.

Shady Grove
A small community to the north of town filled with hundreds of small, slumped houses with most only ranging from one to two bedrooms. The houses are mostly in disrepair and falling apart, with crowded lawns covered in abandoned toys, broken vehicles, or trash. Stray dogs and cats lurk around most dumpster bins and cause quite the ruckus, as well as the occasional local drunk left unchecked. Most of the community is really poor, but the types of people range from sweet, tight-knit communities to loner houses that no one ever hears from or even the one neighbor that's always causing problems for everyone else. No one actually chooses to live in Shady Grove. Most are either born there and live there their entire lives, or they get stuck there.

but now he's homeless because the community was outside of town. Thankfully, he keeps his laptop, chargers, and basic necessities on him in his backpack since his mother left him.

Beau is a wired ball of tears and anxiety waiting to burst. He's dealing with a lot emotionally and mentally, with no one to really talk to. He channels his emotions through music, an old guitar his dad gave him, and writing. He's silent, observant, and likes to people-watch as he travels through life. He prefers to skip small talk entirely and go into deep, inquisitive conversations about the meaning of life. Generally, he's a very serious kid that's hard to get to joke around, and he takes everything to heart. He's searching for his purpose in life and angry at the world for being so shitty. He has always desperately wanted out of his hometown.
Despite all of this, at his core he's a kind, helpful soul that really just wants a friend. When you get to know him, he would give you the shirt off his back if you treated him well. He'd do anything to help a friend, even if it meant hurting himself.

Beau was born to Wallace Whittaker and Suzanne Lovecard as Bonnie Angela Whittaker, but he knew at a young age that he simply didn't fit in the shitty dresses his mother tried to stick him in and parade him around church on Sundays. He often longed to go play with the other boys, and telling his mother as such, she denied it and beat him. Wallace, desperate to find something to help his child, researched Beau's claims and with the help of the internet to educate them both on how to move forward, Beau came out as a transgender boy.

He came out with the help and leading hand of his father, changing his name to Beau because of nicknames (Bo, Bo-Bo) he had as a child to help ease the transition period with names for his friends and family, and the name Wallace as a middle name to honor his dad. Unfortunately, his mother went beserk and filed for divorce when Wallace denied Suzanne the ability to keep Beau in the closet. Wallace wanted nothing more than to help his son, but Suzanne cared about their 'public image' and went to the church stirring up trouble.

Since then, Suzanne has made Beau and Wallace's lives a living hell through the church, whose politics often leak into the school administration making it hard on Beau to transition and caused relentless bullying among some of his peers. She even once took him out two-hundred miles away and dropped him off at a homeless shelter to 'scare him straight to see what it would be like without her'. Wallace got custody after that. It was then that his grades started to slip and he began ditching class to get away from people and go be himself. Coming up into high school, he's struggling hard with the administration at school and slowly pushing towards becoming a drop out due to his lack of motivation for anything. He can often be found at

Midtown Arcade & Pizza
A rusty, hole-in-the-wall arcade in the business district that attracts nerds and occasionally delinquents. Open Monday - Saturday from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m on the arcade, and 3 a.m. on pizza delivery. It's a pretty grimy, greasy place, and the cheap pizza isn't any good, but it occasionally hosts video game tournaments. It's home to a lot of stray nerds and younger kids, as well as teenagers with jobs running pizza all over town. The arcade itself is pretty big and houses over 100 cart games, including around 10 bigger ones such as Dance Dance Revolution and two virtual reality racing games that are connected together. Overall, the place rakes in a lot of cash for cheap, low quality food and mid-quality entertainment.

Juno Peaks Coffee
A small coffee shop in the center of the business district that caters to teens that seem to think they're better than everyone else, creative types, and rare left-wing adults. They serve a lot of fancy different coffees and several different light meals. They're usually open all week, 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., but they occasionally will close up as the business is owned by a single owner that will go on trips unannounced. The atmosphere is very stark, modern, and sleek. They have a loft side room filled with foam-filled bags for lying on with a television that quietly chimes soft, calming music from video games or the like.

  personality— Oswald wants nothing more than a break. He wants to stop running and take a deep breath, but there is nothing he fears more than stopping. He is a boy raised in the spotlight, praised for what he can do and always going for the next prize. Was it his idea to being this sport? probably not, but now it is his life. Does he enjoy it? Maybe, he has never had a life without it. It is his one focus and priority.
  Outside of competing there isn't much to him. He smiles politely to the media and his mother's friends. He quietly agrees to his parent's wishes. He keeps it all inside. Sometimes it all becomes a bit and he lashes out. More than a couple fights have been covered up by his mother's influence.
  
  There are always secrets and insecurities that Oswald wants to hide. Drugs, his injury, how he feels sick every time he steps on a weight. His mind is always going at top speed, overthinking everything.

  Oswald was born to be something. His mother whispered praises to him, always pushing him to be better. From a young age it was clear that he was an athletic boy. His mother didn't miss this and quickly signed him into any sports that he might like. For many years he was on the school's football team, but his real proficiency was in running. He dedicated himself to track and field; stacking up medals in all distances, but excelling at short distance. In many ways his parents dictated his life. They dedicated the time he spent on homework so he could pass classes, they paid for a personal trainer, decided what he ate, signed him up for competitions and approved his weekend plans. All he had to do was run. Always run.
  
  Many issues followed. Enjoying himself was out of the question to Oswald, there was no time to just have fun. Even those days when he was allowed to join a party, there was no alcohol, no snacks and back home before curfew. Sometimes the heavy exercise routines led to him running until he couldn't stand, until he fainted, but it was all a couple days of rest and he was back on his feet.
  
  A couple months ago he had a small accident. Nothing major really, but his foot hurt. And he needed his foot to work. Because if he couldn't run, what was he? So he got some pain killers (possibly from school's stoner or something, TBD) and hid away the pain. The more he ran, the worse the pain got and the more pills he required, and then the world turned upside down.
