Honoka Yumeno

Age:
20

Gender:
Female

Sexuality:
Asexual/Aromantic
(This sexuality and romantic orientation was forced upon her so this is subject to change.)

Height:
5'5"

Weight:
120lb

Distinguishing Features:
The seven element mark is on her left hand.
She has lotus flower birthmark on her back.

She has a scar on the right side of her face over her eye which she keeps wrapped up.
ImageUploadedByTapatalk1411679177.699806.jpg

Element:
Shadow: She can disappear into shadows and travel through them. But if the shadow is located in area that's wet it makes it hard to tell lies beyond it.
Umbrakinesis: She can manipulate darkness itself, allowing the her to create, control, and project darkness. She can shroud enemies in darkness, extinguish light sources, and create barriers of darkness to block attacks. This includes creating constructs out of shadow, enveloping enemies in darkness, and using shadows to conceal and obscure objects. Although the she is capable of extinguishing light sources, she is not capable of completely removing all forms of light in a surrounding area. If the room were to be overly large and the amount of light within the room is far too intense, she may be able to remove some of the sources of lights by blocking them out temporarily but not completely destroy it. The brighter a room or area is, the more fragile her barriers or weapons are, the stronger she wishes the barrier to be, the more strain she must put onto her mental/physical body.
Shadow Illusions: She can create realistic illusions using shadows, deceiving enemies and manipulating their perceptions. These illusions could be used to disorient foes, create distractions, or lure enemies into traps. he illusions she can create are not completely detailed and colored illusions, rather, they are more like silhouettes of whatever object/person she is attempting to make an illusion of. Because of this, it is not difficult to tell that the person/object is an illusion because of their shadowy dark figure. Although in dimly lit rooms or during the night, it is difficult to tell with said illusions are fake or not. Also, these illusions are nothing more than what is describe, they are illusions, they can distract and attempt to appear as though they are about to strike, but they can do no actual harm to enemies.

Weapon(s):
Two Swords

Envoy Status:
Chasity

Clan:
The Yumeno Clan - They are a big clan of demon hunters located in the east. They are all related to each other by either blood or marriage, and a common ancestor. The clan has dedicated themselves to demon hunting and they also do bounty hunting as well. They believe in the complete and annihilation of all demons. They believe demons to be pure evil they wouldn't even hesitate to kill a baby demon. The first clan leader and envoy was Minato Yumeno. Because of the virtue he represented he believed the Enovy of Chasity was to always remain a virgin for their entire lives and they were to refuse themselves earthly pleasures and be pure of all sin. Of course what they considered to be a sin was more strict then most would think. He consider emotions to be a hinderance and weakness and to give in to any emotion was considered to be sin as well. One could have light emotion but as envoy of Chasity he believe one was not allow to truly feel in order to achieve justice in this world. The Envoy of Chasity is also must have a strict diet in order to avoid indulgence. They basically have to be raw vegans and the drinking acholic drinks is strictly forbidden.

The Envoy of Chasity is decided upon whether or not they are born with birthmark of the Lotus Flower ,which represented purity and rebirth. The clan believes the envoy is reincarnated and the proof of that reincarnation is the birthmark lotus flower. The training of envoy begins at the age of 8 after they are branded with the mark of the elements and at the age of 18 is when they officially begin their duties as a Envoy.

The Envoy of Chasity of the Yumeno Clan is not the head of the clan instead they serve the leader of the clan and are to obey the clan leader unless it goes against the rules the Envoy must follow.

Personality:
(When she was a kid.)
Honoka was an optimist who was never afraid to take risks. She was hard-working(still is), fun-loving and always in a good mood and liked to look at the bright side of things. She was determined and once her mind was set on something, nothing could stop her. But because of her persistent personality, she often overexerted herself. As a child she loved everything chocolate but it is something she's not allowed to have anymore.

Backstory:
Honoka's parents lived outside of the Yumeno Clan. Their feelings on demons were different to what the clans believed. They saw the demons same as humans some were good some were bad and all had the ability to change. They even try to help recover the demon child that was stolen. Honoka grew up not hating demon kind and even had demon friend a child. Before having Honoka her parents didn't live to far from the clan but when she born and saw the birthmark they knew right away what would happen if they didn't get away. They didn't want their child being forced into living the life that would be force upon her as a Envoy of Chasity so after paying the doctor that bore the baby hush money they moved far away from the clan.

The clan leader had become concerned at the situation there should have been a child born by now with the birthmark but for some reason there some to be none. But the advisor of the clan leader brought up the family that had lived outside the clan. He told the leader that after having the child they disappeared the next day. Finding this suspicious the clan leader sent for the clan family doctor and asked him if the child did indeed have the birthmark. But after a bit of threating the doctor finally cave in told them that child did indeed have the lotus birthmark. With that hunters were sent to find the family and bring back the child. They ended up finding the location of the family but of course her parents refuse to give up their daughter. Honoka was 10 years old at this point. Trying to take Honoka proved to be difficult so they decided to hold off and come up with a plan.

One evening during dinner with her parents a demons suddenly busted into the house and started attacking her parents. It was nightmarish sight especially as she watch her parents get torn to shreds. Honoka was hiding in the closest petrified hoping the monster wouldn't find her unfortatly it did and went to attack her. She did her best to fight it off but manage to damage her right eye with terrible wound she was pretty sure she had just lost an eye and just when she thought she was done for the demon suddenly fell over dead. Standing behind the demon was one of the hunters that had tried to come take her away from her parents. Then realization hit her about the demon she recognized him he was demon her parents had helped out before.

Honoka was never the same since that night she had have terrible nightmares and the wound she had would pulse with pain. No one knew why though there were some who thought maybe some of it's demonic blood got inside and that was why she would feel pain. Either way they gave her a special ointment that was suppose to help her with it. Because Honoka was two years behind and no could only see out of one eye the already intense training she was suppose to go through went up three notches.

When she turned 18 she started her job as an envoy Chasity and is now 20 with quite the kill count. Whatever personality she had as a child was completely wiped clean and even though tense emotions were strictly forbidden for the Envoy of Chasity there were times were she couldn't fight the pure hatred she had for demons. Honoka is considered one of the best Envoy of Chasity they have had in a while she complete killing machine with no mercy.

Gender:

Sexuality:
Closeted Bisexual

Height:

Element:
Wood

+ Communication with plants
-Silva can understand the words and thoughts of plants but cannot speak the language of plants.

+Plant Body
-When he has an open wound, Silva can generate healing flowers from the wound. The process is quite fast but is easily flammable and is extremely painful. Disturbing the healing process might leave the wound still open and possibly permanent. The plant body won't activate when body parts are gone.

+Root Awareness
-Silva can sense the presence of roots in the ground and the things that walk on it. Silva can only go 5km, barefoot using this ability.

+Wood Control
-Silva can manipulate wood from those that have already been chopped off. He can use the roots of the stump and kinda trap someone and generate the trunk from the stump and manipulate its branches to strangle someone or some other attacks. Like Plant Body, It is easily flammable and is hard for Silva to use.

Clan:
Rosetum Clan

The Rosetum Clan is covered with Rose Gardens. Each member of the clan is responsible for taking care of their own gardens while also balancing lectures. These lectures range from botany to geology and to arithmetic. Not participating in lectures and having sloppy grades could bring you punishment depending on how sloppy you are or how many lectures you have missed. The Rosetum Superiors are responsible for the said punishments and managing the clan is not something you want to mess with and are actively avoided by clan members because of the long process of working with them. This could not be confirmed as it is currently unknown where the Clan resides and no outsiders have stepped foot in the Clan.

Background:
Every individual born of the Rosetum Wood Clan is either given a Rose Garden or given a Rose Garden when their predecessor dies or betrays the clan. Every day, they are expected to tend to the garden as well as attend classes and duties alongside it. When Silva was born, he was announced as the successor to a prominent member named Interritus Rosetum. He didn't see his parents much and was expected to learn everything from his predecessor, so he followed him everywhere. Interritus was a very courteous teacher to Silva, though extremely strict. Silva was not fond of his lessons at first, but he grew to love them under the company of Interritus. He smiled often, named a fool by the other scholars around him. Though he heard these names thrown at him at school, he was shielded by outside distractions under the shield of Interritus. This would not last however when the Rosetum Clan ordered Interritus to participate in a battle and was the last time Silva was under the wing of Interritus. Under a full moon, Rosetum officials were able to bring Interritus' dead body over and buried in his rose garden, clearly beaten from whatever battle he participated in. Shocked, Traumatised and in denial of the clear evidence that his successor was no longer with him, he was named the upcoming Wood Envoy of the Rosetum Clan.
Silva was put to more lessons and physical training to prepare him for his future as an Envoy. This was a near-impossible task for the upcoming wood envoy as his grief dragged him behind most of his lessons. Though Silva's superiors sympathized with his situation, he wasn't able to escape the cycle of his work. As much support from his peers, comforting him or otherwise, it just didn't feel the same as when his predecessor was there with him. He is constantly near his rose garden, keeping his company. This, of course, sparks some problems with Rosetum's Superiors, giving him detention for improper discipline and lack of focus on lecture and study. Silva was forced by Rosetum Superiors to study in solitude. No one heard from him until five years later, when he finally was released from his solitude and became the Wood Envoy. Those who still remember him say that his aura is a lot sadder and sharper than before, he still has that same flare in his eyes when he was a young successor.

features
A single roseate horn protrudes from a valley of silver-white tresses. It is a lonesome, asymmetrical horn, that shares the same color as the tips of his hair. Just below, one might find a set of fuschia eyes that emit an unnatural glow— enticing, yet spiteful.
Element
Gamori's domain is metal, including its casting, and its molding. His specialty is the creation of chains, to prod and restrain his enemies. An enemy that can no longer fight back is ideal; it pleases him to know that those who evoke his ire will only know the cold kiss of metal before finding their demise. His steel lashes will erupt from the ground and attempt to rip away at unwilling flesh. They will tug downwards if they find their mark until they force their enemies to submit. The creation of these chains is not without flaw: their creation is signified by a flare of sparks and a loud pop. It makes using it hard to disguise and allows a would-be victim time to move out of range.
Weapon
Everpresent is a coiled, silvery whip with a leather hilt at his side. The metal is unnaturally flexible and cold to the touch.
Domain
Lust
section two
The Allocers were known to be a hedonistic family of demons, who lorded over their corner of the realm with an iron fist wrapped in a velvet glove. Those who behaved, have never felt its grip, and those who did not were not spoken of again. The family was spearheaded by the former Envoy of Lust, a woman who happily served as their ‘broodmare,’ siring at least 10 litters of devils. Of his siblings, Gamori was her 46th child and 20th son. Beneath his family were their pets, used for labor or personal enjoyment when they would wish it.
The Allocers took an uncharacteristic approach regarding human-devil relations, seeing them as a sort of pet to be tamed. It was rare that they thought of something without first ruminating on how they would derive pleasure from its existence—humans would be no different. Gamori often spent his days lamenting at the existence of the seal and what it had taken from him. Stories of conquest passed from mother to son, and the green hue of envy shined brightly in his mind. The humans were a source of pleasure unexploited and out of reach. The very concept of something they could not have was unthinkable to a member of his kin—one who was born writhing within the intoxication of unrestrained dopamine.
Andras, his mother's 26th son, and Gamori were a close-knit duo in their youth. Whereas Gamori had a more domineering personality, Andras was more akin to a temperate fire. Andras was unlike his other siblings, he was much too docile and was often reprimanded for his chaste nature as the two matured. To be an Allocer meant that you would have to delve into the farthest pits of debauchery, and Andras proved to be ill-fitted. While the two did not agree in terms of temperament, the duo were often found sparring and enjoying each other's company. Among the two, Andras was always the superior fighter; a prodigy. If it weren't for his gentle disposition, Andras would've been a likelier candidate to becoming the next Envoy.
Conflict within his domain was frequent and the title of family-head was constantly contested. There were wars both unseen and on plain display, pitting brother against sister and progeny against mother. With a family as big as his, there were plenty of bodies for the pile and to reject hedonism was to go against their nature. His mother encouraged the bloodshed without ever caring to hide the sadism that nested within her glare. When Gamori came of age and after much training, he would enter the fray. Gamori was quick to rise in power, shackling lesser devils as instruments to serve in his conquest. His siblings were tools to be used and pitted against one another, then disposed of when they've outlived their usefulness.
Andras proved to be the final barrier between him and his throne. His little brother had gotten the silliest idea of creating an alliance between devil and man. Andras sought to become the new Envoy, viewing the title as a venue to accomplish his goals. Perhaps the thing that irked Gamori the most was just how convincing Andras could be. That nudging sensation in his head, the one that told him to betray his nature, was the deciding factor in his betrayal. Gamori had mortally wounded Andras during a peace talk between them, seeing no way he could best him in a fair fight. That was the last day he had seen him and Andras had been assumed dead since.
His cunning was rewarded with the usurpation of his mother, and with her dying breath and the sin of matricide freshly staining his hands, she declared him heir to their domain. Gamori only had a moment to relish his new title after he was formally selected some days later.

    WEAPON
[Ref.] While at first glance the sword that Xiao wields would appear to be a sort of walking stick as the hilt is normally wrapped in a red cloth while the handle of the sword is normally hidden within the sleeve of his shirt when he holds it out in front of him. Underneath the sleeve and cloth is a sword passed down from generation to generation. Ever since the beginning of the steampunk technological era, every previous Water Envoy has used this weapon. While the sword itself can be used as an extension of the envoy's reach allowing them to perform much more complex and longer-ranged strikes, what makes the weapon special is that around the handle of the sword is a small trigger and a barrel that extends a mere inch or two along the blade, not only can small forms of ammunition be inserted into the hilt for it to be fired off but because the weapon has been passed along every Water Envoy, it has been customized to be able to also be compatible with small rounds of water/ice pellets or bullets to be fired off.
    DESCRIPTION

Standing at a full height of six foot even and weighing around 188lbs, Xiao's appearance is unlike that of most of the rest of his clan. His skin is pale although not completely paste white but more similarly a fair skin tone, while the rest of his clan have much more tan-ish or slightly darker skin color. Also unlike the rest of his clan, rather than possessing dark brown eyes, he was born with a dark blue that closely resembles the ocean, his pupils are slitted, similar to that of a feline's. The only similarly that he has to the rest of his clan when it comes to physical appearance is that his hair is a snowy white color.

Because of the illness, he was born with, he is blind in his right eye, so to avoid having people stare or question his inability to notice certain things on his right side, he wears a dark blue cloth that he wraps around his head that covers his right eye. Underneath the cloth, unlike his left eye, his right eye is a faded blue color as well as his slitted pupil being a dim gray color.

The mark of the Seven Elemental Envoys is located on his right back shoulder blade.

    ---
    [ Divine Form ]
Although he currently is unable to shift into his divine form willingly, there have been times when Xiao has done so. In his divine form, his once-white hair turns pitch black. His vision returns to normal and he is capable of seeing through both his eyes once more, his slitted pupils become much more noticeable. Blue-ish scales soon form all over his skin, ranging from his face to his neck, arms, body, and legs, although it does not completely envelope him in them, there a majority of his skin becomes more scale-like than flesh.

In this form, his physical traits and senses are heightened drastically as well as his ability to control the water. His divine form is supposed to match that of the humanoid form of a legendary water serpent that is said to be roaming the depths of the sea that has protected their clan alongside the first Water Envoy. As powerful as the divine form of Xiao's might be though, it does not change that his internal physical body continues to suffer from its illness. The more he exerts himself in this form the strain he puts on his body is tenfold compared to when he is in his normal form. Pushing past his limitations when in his divine form risks him collapsing from exhaustion or high amounts of blood loss, possibly even causing internal bleeding after a certain point.
    ELEMENT

Xiao wields the very essence of the elemental power of water. Known by those in his clan, the element of water not only holds the power to bring life into the world but in the right hands also holds the power to take it as well. As the envoy of water Xiao is not simply limited to requiring a water source around him to conjure up the element, he is capable of pulling water molecules out from the air around him to form out of thin air as well as drain it from surrounding living things such as blades of grass, trees, flowers, etc. While he can use the water as a form of whip or other means such as firing high-speed bullets of water towards his enemies, he is also able to freeze water into solid ice to form weapons or other means with the use of ice, whether it be to make a cast to stop bleeding or to make a limb to help with moving around temporarily.

Unfortunately, even with the life-giving and life-taking essence of water, it is not without flaws. When trapped in an extremely hot environment, the ability to draw any form of water from the atmosphere becomes nearly ten times more difficult and at times it is nearly impossible to draw any due to how dry the air could be. Aside from this, although he may be able to draw water from the air or surrounding objects if his water were to be absorbed into something such as mud or to be dissipated by intense amounts of heat causing it to turn to steam, Xiao would be unable to draw from that specific source immediately and will be left vulnerable for several moments before he can regain his composure before conjuring more.

Male (He/Him/His)

sexuality

Bisexual Demiromantic

II

“Nothing endures but change.”

Height

6’3” ft or 192cm

Weight

180lbs or 81kg

build

Val has a mesomorph body type. He is tall, muscular and has an athletic build. He works hard for the body he has now and likes to keep it that way in the future. He works with his arms, legs and chest. His chest and arms are mostly sculpted through perfection and hard work.

hair

Midnight blue hair with ruby blood tips at the end of his long and silky hair. His hair is always tied and well-maintained.

skin

He has a pearly white complexion with some cool undertones, almost like a ghost and transparent-like appearance. When he gets cold, his nose and cheeks turn bright pink.

eyes

His eyes are like two pools of amber with a glint resembling a flame's dying embers. He has demon-like eyes that turn into slits depending on his emotions.

dist. feat.

His resting bitch face is a very prominent one when a character would first meet them. He also has this aura of coldness around her, amplifying the effect of his resting bitch face. Also, on the rare times when he’s sleeveless, his arm is littered with old cuts and scars from his brutal training in the past. His whole body is covered with it, particularly on his arm. As for his demonic trait, his demonic amber eyes would have to be his.

III

“Remorse, hatred, fear and reflection.”

vices

╰┈➤ Destructive: Val craves destruction, specifically burning down and causing chaos to humans. He would never dare do the same to demon establishments. He simply acts like this because he knows the things humans have done, yet they act like they’re the better ones. In his eyes, humans loved playing the victim. And this infuriates him to a great level. So, just like the Ralotvis before him, his blue flames will only strike those he deems necessary.

╰┈➤ Vindictive: Valdi the Vindictive has a nice ring. Val is an incredibly vindictive individual and could harbour the deepest grudge. Once you have wronged him, there would be no going back as he has already engraved your wrongdoing in his mind. He’s not afraid or one to hold back when hurting or harming his enemies or anyone who has wronged him and his loved ones.

╰┈➤ Irritable: He has a highly explosive persona and is easily irritated by trivial things. How a person stands, breathes or looks, he will most likely become irritated at the action. He would most likely take action against this or violently comment on it. He is a loud individual who is fearless regarding what people think.

virtues

╰┈➤ Protective: This is exclusive to the people he has grown close to and fond of. His protection is not easily attainable. First, one must earn his trust, and that is hard enough. But once you have earned his protection, he will be prepared to lay his life and limbs for you. That’s the length he is willing to go for the people he cares about.

╰┈➤ Loyal: This is another exclusive for the people he deems worthy and friends with. Once you have gained this, you will have his loyalty and will be willing to fight your battles for you. He has a fierce loyalty to those who he sees fit.

╰┈➤ Intelligent: He finds puzzles interesting and prefers to keep his wits about him. When it comes to combat, explosive and vehicle knowledge, his wit knows no bounds as he excels in those topics. He can think smartly and use his cunning to get himself out of difficult situations.

╰┈➤ Heat & Fire Resistance: After receiving the brand, he was known to be fire-proof. He is resistant to fire and heat. He can withstand dangerously hot temperatures and weather. His skin can resist his flames and will not feel the fire's damage. He simply feels a pleasant, warm feeling.

╰┈➤ Hottest Fire: The flames he produces burn a bright blue, the hottest-coloured flames. This is a feat to behold among the other demons in the realm, and so far, the Ralotvis were the only ones who have managed to achieve this due to their title as dark envoys. Some say that the blue flames the previous Ralotvis produced personified their expert control of their inner wrath as they were deemed the calmest among the sea of Val’s rage-filled ancestors.

╰┈➤ Emotion Driven: His flame gets more powerful when truly driven. And with Val’s tendencies to be emotional and unapologetically be himself, his flames would dance along with his emotions. This can be a strength and a weakness; if his will to survive lessens, his flames will be nothing more than a baby dragon’s breath.

weakness

╰┈➤ The Cold: When cold or surrounded by snow and frost, he cannot produce his typical blue flames. His inner fire will keep him alive in the cold, but if it gets to extreme temperatures, he will freeze and hibernate, focusing all his energy on survival.

╰┈➤ Water: His main opposite element is water; when he is drenched, specifically when submerged, he won’t be able to produce fire unless his head is above the water. However, he can still produce heat when it rains, but his flames will be extremely limited.

╰┈➤ Lack of Oxygen: As mentioned above, being wet and submerged in water will prevent him from accessing his powers. Therefore, the lack of oxygen is another fatal flaw in this power.

The Azure Dragon
From his breath, he can quickly engulf himself in a single tornado of blue flames and transform into a dragon. Covered in solid navy blue fire-resistant scales, he can adequately tank any damage. His amber eyes are bright and noticeable when you first see his form. He has used this form to envelop a few villages in an inferno. In this form, his fire is stronger than ever, keeping his blue flames constant and burning even after it has touched an object.

His tail is perfectly capable of twisting and constricting an individual. With its thickness and constrictions like a python, this part of his form can do many horrid things.

In this form, he has the power of flight. However, once his wings have been impaired, he won't be able to fly, and when he reverts to his standard form, he will feel a particular pain and ache in his back, specifically in his shoulder area.

“Keep playing with fire, and you are bound to get burned.”

weapon

The Ebony Fists of Wrath
After receiving the mark, his mother presented him with Ralotvi’s prized heirloom and his grandfather’s gauntlets. He never knew his grandfather, but he was told that he was an odd man with complete control over his anger and yet produced the brightest and hottest flames. He was an honourable man who burned brightly like the star, earning him the title “The Star of The Ralotvi.” He wore the same gloves, and his mother encouraged him to take pride in wearing the gauntlets as they represented the extraordinary side of his family.

Since his father thrived for glory, he disregarded the Ralotvi’s heirloom and, out of vain, crafted one out of pure gold. He was going to pass this on to Val but failed to do so. Val chose the obsidian gauntlets instead. When he equips himself with the gauntlets, the gauntlets can withstand his flames, delivering fiery punches.

brand

Mark of The Dark Fire Envoy
He typically keeps this bandaged; sometimes, looking at it is way too painful to handle. And when he activates his power, the bandages burn at the touch of his fingertips.

inventory

His most prized possession is his mother’s earring. He treasures it the most. He also often carries a compass. This holds no sentimental value, but he keeps it just in case for survival purposes.

VI

“When will death come for me? My patience is wearing thin.”

THE FABLE: TW. Depictions of an abusive family member with a little level of detail.

Before the sins and the demons were sealed entirely, there was a fierce battle for freedom (demons and sins) and safety (humans and envoys.) In an intense battle with another envoy, his great ancestor, an original dark envoy, perished and passed the title to his son, Crassus Ralotvi. It was an ancient tradition that has withstood time and time again. The men and women of Ralotvi have passed this down; it was within their belief that only they can continue this tradition out of pride and selfish reasons. They kept the gift all to themselves to maintain their popularity and hierarchy within the realm of demons. They considered themselves as royals and used their power and influence to rise above the other demons.

Val was born under that Ralotvi name. The Ralotvis was one of the few demon sins who stayed focused on the mission and kept searching for the missing and tortured demon. Ever since finding out that one of them (demons, not a Ralotvi specifically) is being tortured, the holder of the sin and the head of the Ralotvi at that time felt anger at the measly humans. They were one of the most vindictive families in the demon and human worlds. And they purged their way through human villages without any remorse. Their pure prowess to fight is one of their most excellent affinity.

From the villages they purged and burned, they earned themselves enough riches to be set for life. Val was raised to be strong. In his eyes, the strongest have permanently harmed the weak, which became evident when his father would hit their mother or the way his father burned innocent human homes and families. Kalmia (his mother) is a lesser demon who was a maid of the Ralotvis, and when Sergius (his father) grew a liking for her, he completely possessed her and controlled her every movement.

As Val grew older, he was trained to fight with his fists and taught about their family's remarkable history. By day, he would be the perfect son for his father, and by night, he would be a snivelling and crying child as he watched his mother tend to her recent injuries. His father taught him about physical strength, while his mother taught him the true meaning of inner strength. He wanted to be more like his mother than his father during these times. Later, his mother would once again be pregnant.

After the long and gruelling abuse his mother received, he soon did the unthinkable. He duelled his father to obtain the title of head of the Ralotvi and defend his mother’s life. Val claimed that if he wins, his mother will no longer suffer at his father's hands, and he will receive the proud brand that his family holds. And if Sergius wins, he will do as he pleases with his wife and end Val’s life, passing the title and brand to his younger brother, Theodon. If Valdi ever hopes to free his mother’s shackles from his father, he would need the title of head to do as he pleases.

Sergius is a ruthless man who continues to land deadly blows on his son and holds nothing back as if he is nothing but a pheasant man who misspoke.

But something in him burned to win, and he endured the punches his father threw at him. He waited for the perfect time to launch a punch, but facing an experienced warrior was a rather tricky challenge. And it gave them a rather good idea.
“Is that all you got? The divines! You are getting senile.”

With a smirk, he watched his father mindlessly charge at him. He used his enraged state to land a blow on his father’s cheek. And it went downhill for the father from there. He had trained this young man too well and is now using some of his combat secrets against him.

“You are a pathetic man.”

Val had his father’s temper and almost killed a man. With his bloodied fists, he released his grip on his father. If it weren’t for his mother, he would’ve genuinely ended the man’s life. As Val walked away, his father taunted him one last time.

“Too bad…”
he coughed out a tooth.
“Too bad you’re going to turn out just like me.”
He could see a grim smirk behind his bloodied face, making Val snap. His father was right; he was truly his father’s son, and Val hated it. His first kill was his father… how fitting.

Later, a burning and excruciating sensation wrapped around his right hand as the mark settled itself—a daily reminder of his patricide. After the mark was created, he continued his training, and as he grew more proficient, his flames became a shade of blue, personifying his silent and inner rage and anger. Other than him, only a few of the great Ralotvi have achieved this feat.

For the last six years, he has been interested in mechanics and expanded his knowledge by learning how to hotwire, drive, and fix a flying vehicle. Today, he continues to search for the lost demon, but with the ongoing conflict with the human, he finds the task quite challenging. He may need a few of his friends to aid him.

    MISCELLANEOUS
The current Yinyue is an actor in every sense of the word. Both in accordance with the Li Clan’s laws and their personal preferences, they seldom appear in their true form. Their favorite subject to impersonate is a tall man whose elegant poise and stern expression give him an austere aura forbidding all from approaching. Framed by lashes long enough to catch snowflakes during winter, his downcast eyes seem to be constantly evaluating and judging your every move. The wide grin Yinyue sports when caught in the act looks unnatural upon that gelid visage, and perhaps they’re inclined to agree, given their eagerness to shift to yet another form. Some days, they favor the mask of the aloof warrior whose mysterious gaze matches the allure of her silken tresses which gently sway like wisterias in May. On others, it’s the face of the cranky young lady keeping watch over the sacred mirror in which their soul presides.
    ELEMENT
Since their time as Li Danbi, the current Yinyue has never been particularly adept in the art of condensing the earth into metal. It is said that even a ten-year-old hailing from the Li Clan can generate metal with a higher degree of efficiency than Yinyue. However, for what they lack in their ability to create, their dominion over the metal objects that exist in their presence is second to none.

Much of this finesse involves tweaking the structure of the steel used in the forging of the various weapons they produce, ensuring that the right balance of hard and brittle versus soft and flexible layers fall into the appropriate sections of each piece of equipment produced by their hands. That isn’t to say that they’ve honed their skills solely for the sake of the forge. When the weapon they wield strikes against an object, it has a tendency to produce a strange ringing noise, a product of the brief but powerful bursts of vibrations from the weapon. Depending on the area of concentration and frequency, the transfer of these vibrations may be utilized to shatter certain structures with heightened ease or induce numbness to disorient living beings. Coupled with a monstrous striking power driven by their mental hold on the metal rather than physical muscles, it isn’t difficult for them to send troublemakers packing with brute force alone.

The loss of their physical body as a result of one of the Li Clan’s rituals brings about a slew of troubles but abilities exclusive to the envoy of humility in exchange. Their soul has been tethered to a mirror, transferred in a process akin to death, while their true body has long rotted away, leaving them stranded within a realm inhabited by none other than themselves. Constructed by the fragments of the ancient mirrors which once served as vessels of envoys in the past, the mirror retains the traces of every envoy who once imprisoned themselves in the same space. Their words are dull and repetitive, mere shades of the past, yet their instruction is invaluable and allows each successive envoy to become stronger by building upon the techniques of their predecessors.

A countless number of fragments stare down coldly at the newborn Yinyue, yet time has never been a concern for the envoys of the Li Clan. Freed from the obligations humans must fulfill to maintain a healthy body, the Yinyue works tirelessly towards perfecting the techniques under the instruction of their predecessors. They do not sleep. They do not rest. Regardless of the insanity that gradually creeps up on them, the envoys of the Li Clan dutifully work towards growing ever close to perfection despite fully knowing they’ll never truly attain it. At least, that’s what the clan elders like to believe. The current Yinyue prefers making use of their ability to view the outside world from any reflective metal surface and observing the happenings outside of their drab and dreary prison. Should they choose to expend the extra energy, they may utilize the power of the mirror to cast a “reflection” of a familiar person they chose to impersonate while taking a stroll.

These reflective surfaces merely function as windows, and their illusions pass through physical objects harmlessly. In order to interact with anything in the physical world, Yinyue must link their soul to a metal object smaller than the size of their original body. The more personal the object is to Yinyue, the more of their power it is capable of channeling while serving as their temporary vessel. As such, the selected vessel is typically a weapon that they have forged with their own two hands. They must take additional care to select a vessel that is sturdy, as they experience excruciating pain and must rest if the vessel they are inhabiting breaks.

Fortunately, in the case where their weapon or any equipment of primarily metal construction are in need of repairs, mirrors also serve as a gateway to their workshop. However, these gateways must be flat panes of metal which cast a clear reflection of the object intended to be transported, and the object itself must be able to fit through the mirror. Depending on the dimensions of the object, the opposite party may have to trouble themselves to procure a large enough mirror.

Regardless of which object they choose to “possess”, Yinyue is incapable of manifesting the full extent of their power in the physical world unless they take on their divine form.
    DIVINE FORM
Lacking in bold majesty and superfluous flair, the envoy of humility who has taken on their divine form descends as none other than their true self. Dressed in the ceremonial garb of the envoy of humility, their visage is obscured behind a mask and their hair, crowned by a tattered wayfarer’s hood and two metal horn-like structures. Unlike the petty illusions which cast cheap imitations of the reflection they choose to appear as, their divine form summons forth a solid vessel shaped in their likeness. Though a mere puppet incapable of transmitting the sensation of touch, smell, taste, and the like, the vessel allows the envoy to move about the world with greater ease and finesse. However, as the puppet body is directly connected to their soul, they feel pain when it gets damaged, meaning they cannot afford to be as reckless as usual. As these wounds inflicted upon the vessel damage their soul directly, they take time to heal much like physical wounds, with the added demerit that no medicine or magic can expedite the process. In fact, should the vessel be destroyed completely, permanent damage may accumulate, represented by an ever growing crack or blemish on the mirror containing their consciousness.

In exchange for their troubles, their divine form acts as a far greater conductor of their power compared to the limits imposed by other objects they possess (typically their parasol). The metal objects they manipulate cut more swiftly through the air, press down upon their enemies harder, and move with heightened precision. Where they ordinarily can only cast a singular illusion, their divine form allows them to cast multiple images of themselves or even their weapon, making it difficult for enemies to discern which attacks to dodge and which body to focus their attacks on. They may even utilize their abilities to hide obstacles or other people from view, should they desire to do so.

Despite the evident boost in power their divine form grants them, it seldom sees use outside of the most dire of situations. It is an exhausting and draining form, the price of utilizing the full extent of their power from a remote location.
    WEAPON
An incredibly heavy parasol which functions as an excellent bludgeoning tool by sheer weight. Though repaired, modified, and improved upon countless times, the general form of the parasol has remained the same even after the passage of a century. To those who’ve encountered the previous envoy of the Li Clan, it is a familiar sight, whether it be an eyesore or a sign of reassurance.

Compared to their teacher who always used it to shield them when they were just a weak child, the current Yinyue uses the parasol in a far more offensive manner. As the parasol is constructed almost entirely out of metal, both points can be sharpened at a moment’s notice using the Li Clan’s power over the element. The outer rim of the parasol is much like a blade itself as well, becoming a dangerous cutting edge when spun. However, Yinyue’s favored techniques are relatively crude, involving swinging the weapon with brute force with quick bursts of vibrations to aid in shattering objects or stunning enemies.

When a simple locking mechanism within the parasol has been released, Yinyue is able to pull the parasol apart, drawing the sword that had been using the parasol’s main body as a sheath.

Height

5’11” ft or 180cm

Weight

207lbs or 94kg

build

Mesomorph. Work in the mines gave his body shape and muscles; his subsequent training refined them.

hair

Spiky black hair. It's short and usually partially covered by his blindfold.

skin

Tan. Some areas of his skin show discolouration, ranging from a dark grey to an ashy white. These patches are naturally drier and almost flaky to the touch. Meanwhile, his entire spine is protected by a black carapace, which he naturally sheds and regrows every few months. Tiny scars litter his body, many from his childhood, while the larger ones are treasures from fights.

eyes

Golden with pale blue pupils that seem to burst out of his irises. They are rarely seen by others.

dist. feat.

A centipede-like tail protrudes from below his waist. It weighs about 22lbs (10kg) and is 6'5" ft (200cm) long. Razor-sharp thorns adorn its sides like little legs, and he's fully capable of controlling it. Although Norio can regrow the entire appendage, the pain and physical exhaustion that would plague him during the healing process is something he'd rather avoid. The constant presence of his blindfold is another telltale sign, his right facial mark and eyes (when uncovered) additional ones.

p

ersonality

vices

Provocative — He prods and pushes the buttons of others in an almost gleeful way. Latching onto their insecurities, Norio repeats and amplifies them. Mockery and ridicule are part of his arsenal, and he isn't shy with using them.

Belligerent — Norio seeks the thrill of combat without much thought to the consequences. He throws himself into one situation after another, sometimes not even expecting to come out in one piece or alive. Without risk, rewards seem meagre in his eyes, and he makes sure to create a problem where there isn't one.

Selfish — The demon isn't keen on sharing. Whatever belongs to him is his, and whatever you're holding will soon be something he desires as well. Occasionally, this can also apply to a whole person. The notion of sharing is unfamiliar to Norio, and is often met with his confusion and perplexity. An almost childish innocence follows his obsession with wanting to own everything. Somehow endearing. if it weren't so annoying.

virtues

Curious — In the same way that he prods the dignity of others, Norio touches every corner of the world as if it hides a treasure known only to him. Behind every question about how the world is made, there's a sincere interest that makes him a surprisingly good listener. His attention can be captured by the simplest of things, and held even longer. It's hard not to feel appreciated when this focus is on you.

Indiscriminate — Unlike most of his kind, Norio feels no particular resentment towards humans. When he first meets one, he decides what to do with them based on their actual actions and personality. That doesn't mean he'll go out of his way to be kind, but he wouldn't treat them much differently than he would other demons.

Attentive — Norio notices much more than he lets on. It's almost impossible for him not to remember details about a person he's been around for an extended period. From the way they carry themselves, to their gait and preferred dominant hand, to less visible signs; such as the way their breath calms when they consume something they like, or the way their muscles tense when they are anxious. He's sensitive to the interests and needs of others, even if he often tends to ignore them.

Element

Air

strength

Detection — With his eyes mostly rendered useless on the surface, Norio has adapted to sensing the world with his element. By constantly creating vibrations in the air and processing what returns, he can successfully recreate his surroundings in his mind and navigate safely through them. This is done on such a minuscule scale, that he can 'see' better than most with normal eyesight. In addition, the slightest shift in the air can alert him, making sneaking up on him a Herculean task.

Redirection — Norio has excellent control over his element. Instead of using larger and more destructive currents, which would exhaust him far too quickly, he opts to influence his battles in more subtle ways. A small but powerful push against the swing of a weapon, a change in the direction and force of the wind as the projectiles are fired, a vacuum for just a single second. Even just an inch too much or too little can throw off an experienced fighters, and it's that brief moment of confusion and vulnerability that he aims for.

weakness

Sightless — If air can't reach a place, neither will Norio's eyes. If his vibrations are obstructed or blocked, preventing them from entering or exiting a place, he will essentially have to go blind in there. At the same time, Norio relies on his skin being exposed to the air in order to successfully perceive his surroundings. Were the upper surface of his skin to be burnt, covered by a cloth or something similar, his senses would be severely impaired.

Sensory Overload — The combination of sudden loud noises and overlapping fast movements has the potential to overwhelm and disorientate Norio. Although his tolerance level is quite high and the chances of this happening in normal combat situations are relatively low, he's not completely immune to this flaw. Especially if someone targets his eyes. Shining a bright light directly into them without any protection (such as his blindfold) can temporarily cause him immense pain and loss of focus.

e

quipment

weapon

A naginata. [x]
Infused with his own blood and crafted from ensouled wood, the weapon appears to hold a small semblance of consciousness. It twitches when left unused for long periods and eagerly absorbs every drop of blood that stains its blade. Sometimes Norio speaks to it, undeterred by the fact that he has never received an answer.

inventory

He always carries a spare blindfold and eyedrops with him. The latter help him rehydrate his eyes after they were exposed to sunlight. So the pain may vanish faster.

ackstory

For the first half of his life, Norio wouldn't have been able to tell the difference between fresh air and sweat- and oil-stained air.

The Pretyls were a noble demon family that had an iron grip on the mining industry. Most of the mines were under their control, overseen by their family members and protected by their guards. A tycoon with firm guidelines to keep the supply line low as the demand for their ores skyrocketed.

One mineral in particular was more remarkable than the others, its initial high value inflated by the family's trading policies: Thelium. A metal that, when refined, could somewhat absorb the damage inflicted by elemental abilities and withstand prolonged exposure to a certain limit. Excellent for additional protection despite its flaws. Apart from its rarity, there was another problem with thelium: its harvesting. In its raw state, the ore emitted high waves of light, were invisible to the naked eye, but harmful nonetheless. Even a brief glimpse could pose a significant risk to the beholder without protective gear, making it difficult and expensive to obtain. If you cared about the health of your miners

None of the workers in Pretyl's mines were there by choice. Gamblers, addicts, criminals... scum from the streets, swept up by the family, whom no one would miss. All with debts they couldn't pay by any other means. That's how the Pretyls got their miners centuries ago. Now, the children's children slaved away in the darkness, paid with food and water and the grim truth that their suffering didn't matter to anyone.

Norio was one of those children. Rust on his face, a pickaxe in his hand, a cog in the machine. The only thing that distinguished him from the others was his unbreakable will and defiance to stand up to their captors. He wasn't the first, and he wouldn't be the last, but he was undeniably the one who lasted the longest. It didn't matter how many times the skin on his back was broken by the unyielding force of the whip, or how many times he was hung upside down with blood pouring from his head, or how many times his tail was torn like wet paper. Norio would always get up again, having learned none of the lessons the guards were trying to teach him and having succeeded in souring their mood.

His parents and many others, tired of his antics, tried to dissuade him. They warned him of the consequences if he persisted, telling him that death would be of no use to anyone. Their concerns fell on deaf ears, and he soon found himself back in a solitary cell, his name almost carved into the walls.

One day he awoke to the sound of distant voices. The voices were much softer than the echoes the guards made behind their visors. When Norio saw his parents at the door to his cell, fumbling with spare keys, he knew something was wrong, and from the look on their faces, it wasn't an improvement.

Hours ago, the Pretyls lost the rights to their mines and their status. A power struggle with a new lord left them running for their lives and their pride in the gutter. Defeated, but so resentful that they had no intention of simply handing their work over to someone else, they decided to blow it all up. Explosions rocked their territory as every entrance to their mines was buried under rocks loosened by their own bombs. Absolutely indifferent to the lives inside, as their trusted guards and heirs had evacuated them beforehand. So, while the political struggle unfolded on the surface, greed meeting greed, below them the desperate struggle for survival began.

While the workers spent the first few moments celebrating in the absence of their bosses, the situation soon turned grim. As the blocked exits and limited resources - especially food and water - were discovered, camaraderie turned to hostility. Suspicion spread between friends, and when the first corpses appeared with their belongings missing, the true demons emerged.

In this mayhem, Norio found his niche. While others cowered, incapacitated by each too-painful blow, he used the time to close the distance and snap their necks. A desperation clawed at his mind, fueling his blows despite the slight hesitation that held him back at the sight of familiar faces. His life couldn't end here; he refused. Bodies littered his path, soon to disappear as the last conventional food sources were exhausted. It seemed that death had its benefits. With his stomach filled with the flesh of the defeated, Norio continued his march.

At some point, he didn't know when, the dread he felt at the thought of meeting his next foe was replaced by immense excitement.

It was also during this time that he discovered his elemental abilities. His body finally had enough energy to use them. At first, it was infuriatingly weak, but since it was sometimes his only means of surviving a fight, he trained it meticulously until he no longer had to think about it. It was his element, which also helped Norio to find a possible exit. A small gap between loose rocks, where a fresh breeze tinged his senses. The taste of something far greater than the stale air of his birthplace.

He clawed his way out with tools and nails. His motivation soared with every breath of cold air and glimpse of light he encountered in return. As the hole grew, so did the immeasurable joy that flooded his body. Then one last push and his top half emerged from the other side. Open, wide eyes took in the world for a moment, lush grass pressed down by the weight of his fingers, an open sky hinting at an endless horizon.

However, the brief moment of bliss passed and soon pain enveloped his senses. It felt as if needles were being pushed into his eye sockets, drumming at the back of his head and worsening with every second of exposure to the bright sunlight. Shaken, Norio pressed his face into the dirt, unable to move. To the end, it seemed that the existence and effects of thelium would haunt his being.

Yet as he grovelled on the dirt, bloody nails pressing against his painfully throbbing eyes, his eyelids tightly closed, he didn't ignore the warmth of the sun and the wind that enveloped him. Even though the surface seemed eager to reject him, urging him to return to the depths he had fought his way out of, Norio had never felt more free.

Once in his Divine form, Argin will become a near master in offensive attacks. The usual limits he would need to place on himself are being temporally lifted and letting him "let loose". In this form, his strength, durability, and overall attack power will double. Alongside this, his attunement to his elemental connection to the Earth will increase, making his manipulation of the element much more potent. This form however has a light drawback to it. Argin, when in this form, will fall into a sort of "blackout" as he puts it, never truly remembering what happens when he switches into his divine form. Those facing this form, however, will be met with an entirely different personality than Argin, feeling as if they were facing a whole new demon.

Argin

Age: 88

Gender: Male

Sexuality: Straight

Height: 6'2

Weight: 190lbs

Distinguishing Features: Argin has jet-black runic tattoos spreading to his neck to his ankles and wrapping around his arms, the pattern of the tattoos seemingly random with strange symbols along the back of his shoulder blades. Other than his tattoos, Argin typically wears expensive and finely tailored clothing that helps him stick out amongst crowds.

Element: A user of the earth element, Argin is capable of manipulating the earth to his whims. From softening the ground to entrap and slow his foes to cracking the earth and erupting jagged rocks to pierce or tear apart enemies. Capable of defense, offense, and even ranged attacks, Argin can be very flexible. Over the many decades he's been alive Argin has honed and built upon these powers, creating a plethora of moves and methods of use for his abilities that would adapt well with his preferred up-and-close fighting style. Though he tends to lean on brute force, he has learned that this method of fighting can weaken his powers, needing to maintain a focused mind instead of a wild one. If not in a calm state of mind Argin finds it much more difficult to connect with the earth, finding his manipulation of it sloppier and less effective. Due to his impulsive nature, keeping a focused mind can be a struggle for Argin which can either slow the molding of the earth or make their power half of what it can be. To find a suitable balance he took up meditation, finding a way to utilize his brute force through a focused mind, but this tactic is a rather recent filter for his abilities, and still stumbles to keep his impulsive nature in check when frustrated or too excited. However, he's made a recent discovery in this practice, forming a theory of using his own emotions as a dial of sorts for how his powers can be used, but finds a lock of sorts keeping him from utilizing this. This form of training his powers is still in its early stages but he is confident it promises a whole new field of capabilities for his abilities.

Weapon(s): A pair of iron and golden-plated gauntlets with a bright teal glow. When equipped, his attack's fierceness and speed increase, the teal mist that bleeds from his gauntlet wrapping up his arms and clutching onto him as if it were a living appendage.
OIP.Alppd4ALb4na96gQPSQ9XQAAAA

Envoy Status: Greed

Backstory:
Born and abandoned within the lowest depth of the demon realm, Argin from birth has always been the muck of demon kind. The strong, clever, and lucky always feasted on the weak. In Argin's case, he was amongst the lucky ones to survive, scraping and clawing for survival since day one, picking from the scraps left behind by the strong. He had never found it unfair with his deal in life, the suffering and brutal fight for survival was simply the way of life. However, from the lower pits of the demon realm, he would always look upwards, watching as the more powerful reigned. Surrounded by wealth, fame, and power. Argin developed a hunger for it all, every last scrap of what the stronger had that he did not, Argin wished to obtain for himself. The urge to tear it all away by tooth or nail grows by the day, spurring him to take greater risks to grow just an inch closer to his goal. Taking on tougher demons, stealing precious items, and even working under self-proclaimed "lords" that controlled just a minor patch within the demon realm to get what he wanted. Over time the little runt who picked at the leftovers of stronger demons was slowly beginning to crawl his way up the ladder, lying, killing, and stealing every inch of the way. Soon enough he had begun to carve out his patch within the realm and finally started to slowly but surely close the gap between his ambitions.

Fueled to obtain everything the world had to offer, Argin spent decades rising within the food chain, defeating foe after foe through sheer might or trickery. There was no rest, no hesitation, just the growth within his territory. Along the way, Argin created many enemies within both the lower and noble classes, becoming a throbbing throne on their sides. However, with a few well-placed favors, gifts, a smidge of blackmail, and some sweet honeyed words, Argin had gained allies powerful enough to keep his head on his shoulders. So, with a large patch of territory carved by his hands, powerful allies tucked into his pocket, and a confident spirit, Argin decided it was time to expand his influence into something much more profitable. Pulling the right strings and calling in some favors, Argin had constructed a lavish casino called Sinful Paradise. Demons from low to high birth flocked to the new establishment, to chase the thrill of winning it big. It had all begun so well, wealth pouring in from unlucky nobles, low-class demons becoming drowned in debt and forced to serve within his casino. He may have not been on the top just yet, but there was no doubt that he had become a large player in the demon realm.

One day, however, when he left his casino to collect a debt from a less-than-powerful family who had strained their luck too much, Argin came across an individual who would soon become his right hand. A young demon girl, too which he called Gremlin, was given to him by the family to work off the debt they had built. Argin, for some odd reason, found this irritating. As to why, he couldn't answer that. But when she was brought to him and willingly served to him on a platter by her family, Argin forced down the urge to kill them on the spot. With his urge to kill quelled, Argin accepted the new servant and made her do his bidding. At first, she was but a speck of dust to him, nothing special. As the years passed by, however, he had begun to feel a feeling of comfortability with her, familiarity even. She had become the very first demon Argin had ever come to truly trust. When the time came for her family debt to be paid Argin reluctantly released her of her duties, but to his surprise, she remained. From then on, he would push on to his goals with his new companion, his climb a little less lonely.

Eventually, the demon realm began to feel too small for Argin, his hunger for more stretching to the world beyond theirs. With the barrier that separated the worlds severely weakened, Argin alongside his minion slipped into the human world, the promise of great gain filling Argin with newfound excitement. Years would pass, and he and his minion explored the land disguised as humans, stealing, cheating, and manipulating the humans of the world with a child-like glee. Soon enough an idea popped into his mind, coming up with a new fun idea to help him not only pass the time but set a base of operations within this world. Using all of the money he and his minion had stolen and brought with them, he would have a brand-new casino built, but wanting to keep things fresh decided that it would be no ordinary casino. Instead, it would be a traveling airship casino! It was brilliant in his head. They would bleed one place dry then sail off to the next to do the very same thing! Plus, if they were to draw any attention to themselves, especially the attention of the human Envoys, they'd be able to relocate before trouble bared down on them. A bonus he figured was that he would also be able to search for the demon child that had been taken into this world. Before any of that though, he would need to establish himself a firm hold within their world. It would be a gamble, but luckily he was confident in his chances.

    MISCELLANEOUS
It is hard to decipher where Acedia ends and Yggdrasil begins. Ever the prone form laying upon their throne of blossom and branch, Acedia takes the physical form of a horned humanoid with a curving scorpion tail, often hidden and secretly embedd in their own thigh. But in many senses, Acedia is Yggdrasil and Yggdrasil is Acedia - nestled amidst the curling, coiling branches of the legendary tree birthed from the same seed, the tree moves its petrified, stony extremeties with the same fluidity as ones' arms to accomodate the languishing body upon it. If Acedia were capable of standing, their body would stand at 239 cm, towering over most demons and humans alike. Alas, for a demon as inactive as the Sin of Sloth, there is no hope of that ever happening. Not simply out of their self inflicted stupor, but because their body is emancipated from centuries of stillness. Unlike many wood demons, Acedia is not plant-like in nature, but made of the same wood that Yggdrasil is - hard, petrified wood weathered over centuries of rot and decay. Despite this, there is no strength in the 'physical' form of Acedia, and if somehow separated from Yggdrasil, would simply fall limply on the floor. That too is nigh impossible; Yggdrasil moves much like a body part of theirs - as naturally as a thought, rather than a force exerted upon the entity to move, and will move with the body it cradles. The tree also seems to possess consciousness of its own as it may shield or expose Acedia at its own discretion, even when the demon is dormant.
    ELEMENT
Wood is as much of an element as it is a domain, in its many forms and features. And across realms, physiologies and compositions, whatever it may entail, Acedia commands absolute control over it. The elephant in the room, nay, in the demon realm is certainly Yggdrasil itself, a gigantic tree resembling an ash that stretches over miles and miles in the demon realm, plunging the domain into a perpetual twilight and carpeting the floor with hundreds of wildflowers. The domain of Sloth and Wood, under Acedia's watchful eye, grows nearly any plant that exists in either realm - if not already existing, they may command a tree to grow, mature and wither in a matter of seconds. This does also mean the borders of the domain is erratic and irregular - the forest may shrink today and expand tomorrow, but it will always, unwaveringly, exist. Deep within the vast shaded expanse sits Acedia themself, lounging in the main trunk of Yggdrasil, heralded as a Mother Goddess for all demons under their watchful eye. Gossamers glimmer like threads of silver among the trees and the fir boughs and tassels seem to whisper amongst themselves.

The area immediately surrounding Acedia is flooded with the most poisonous trees known to demon or mankind, the air gently sifting with each breath they take. The cocktail of toxins they inhale are what makes up the venom that flows in their vein and arms their scorpion tail, the same one that is plunged into their thigh to constantly pump them with the poison. A rarely spoken fact of the sloth demons' history is that they used to rely on psychoactive plants, however after centuries of usage, the demons have grown resistant or even immune to their effects, and now rely on the next best option - deadly poisons that affect their neural systems, plunging them into deep dreamless sleep. That luxury too is denied Acedia, despite the steady stream of poison into their body - whether by Envoy status or time and adaptability, but they are immune to the effects of poisons, alcohols and sedatives, and they lie awake watchfully over the slumbering demons under their care. The converse, however, is an indiscriminate threat to all sloth demons - caffeine, or indeed any methylxanthine, can be deadly in tiny doses, creating immense strain on their sedentary cardiovascular systems. Even trace amounts are enough to kill Acedia, so the forested domain under their sleepy fist grows no stimulants of any sorts.

As for more active options, Acedia leads the realms with sheer offensive prowess, boasting a wide arsenal of creatively used parts of the plants under their control. Their largest and most obvious weapon is Yggdrasil itself, with a rock-hard bark and bludgeoning boughs. Despite its rigidity and durability, the tree seems to soften to a nearly liquid consistency to mold itself around Acedia, flowing around its own boughs like butter, where they could grind a demon to nothing but a bloody stain betwixt their stony grasp. Unnaturally flexible for something so hardened, Yggdrasil is the primary line of defense as a clubbing, crushing force of nature towering over the demon nestled in its core. Vines whip threateningly around them, armed with razor sharp thorns, many of them finer and sharper than human needles and twice as dangerous with their barbed nature, seeking only to embed in flesh and rip and tear.

Acedia is usually found in the company of their two accomplices, Ratatoskr the squirrel and Veðrfölnir the eagle, the eyes and ears of the demon realm, always scurrying up and down the length of the realm, spying and eavesdropping and pilfering little private matters for the demon of Sloth to admire. It is said that between Ratatoskr's ears and Veðrfölnir's eyes, if there's a secret, it is fated to be fed into Acedia's ears. They are two inhabitants of Yggdrasil who are often found awake and active, in direct contrast to the other inhabitants under Acedia's watch. Plants can also germinate and bloom in an instant, many of them laced with effects like poison, aphrodisiacs or sedatives, at Acedia's will, an action practiced so often that it seems something like this takes no effort - if it did, a demon of sloth certainly wouldn't do it!
    DIVINE FORM
Acedia's divine form is not quite like the other sins. Indeed, it isn't a form at all, but the exact opposite - the 'body' of Acedia falls limp, like a puppet with no strings, and a pressure settles on a vast bubble. Still waters run deep, and THEY have no form, no face, and even less will to speak. THEY encompass space and control all within it, slowing to the quiet inhale and exhale of the universe. Time within THEIR presence belays to a crawl - rain slows to a snail's pace, wind ceases to blow, flames are halted mid-flicker, the earth desists from ageing. It is as though THEY have abandoned the frivolities of possessing and controlling a physical body and have simply settled to... exist.

It is uncertain if a Sin such fallen into this slumber will ever awaken - to create change is to erase yourself, and to take action is to deny your very existence, no Sin of Sloth would ever willingly take this step that exerts effort upon themself, and truly, the only reason the existence of this form is even known is because an ancient Sin, several millenia ago, had spontaneously unleashed THEIR divine form. It is unknown whether it was out of boredom, or necessity, a threat, or plain simple curiosity; it is even unknown if the Sin still lives, as it is impossible to enter the paused bubble and journey to the centre. Some suspect that Acedia may know, as their plant sense can extend well into the sphere, but no word on the matter has ever escaped them.

That is not to say that the Sin is defenseless in this timeless, frozen state - as THEY fall into a deep slumber, Yggdrasil awakens. The ashen tree comes alive with an ethereal glow and awakens all that live and thrive upon it. Alongside Ratatoskr and Veðrfölnir awaken the four harts, who gnaw on Yggdrasils roots and tear up its leaves. Dáinn (The Dead One), Dvalinn (The Unconscious One), Duneyrr (Thundering in the Ear) and Duraþrór (Thriving Slumber), four heavenly stags who descend to defend Acedia's unresponsive body. And lastly, perhaps most terribly, stirs Níðhöggr the dragon (He who strikes with Malice from the Dark), the creature preceded by its own reputation, so rarely is it seen. It is no accident that Acedia's fall is succeeded by seven summons, emanators of the domain of the motionless. It is uncertain what the appearance of these creatures signifies, some say the destruction of the Sin of Sloth heralds Ragnarok, others say it is an era of renewal and rebirth, as a snake sheds its skin, so too does Níðhöggr worm its way from within the roots of Yggdrasil and take to the wing, free at last. Yet another mystery buried deep in the unspoken mind of the Sin of Sloth.
    WEAPON
If a weapon is in the possesion of the Sin of Sloth, it most certainly would never be exercised, displayed, or flourished. While armed with ample methods of defense, destruction and death, the Sin of Sloth will always choose to wither and waste rather than raise a single finger to preserve itself. The scything scorpion tail, the strength of the Mother Tree, the venom it spits, the dragon that slumbers - all for naught. To be struck by Sloth is to live a life of wasted potential, and to exist at all is to carve a new ideal of what it means to live a fulfilling life. Centuries to be passed in frittered efforts and plans that will never see fruition. For to achieve anything is to diminish yourself, and to grow to something greater is to shrivel and disappear.

If Sloth possesses any weapon, it is their intellect, wisdom and their ever-constant gaze, watching but saying nothing, listening but never speaking. It is without doubt that Acedia holds a gold hoard of knowledge, and it is equally certain that all that knowledge shall perish with them. And perhaps as much a weapon to the self as it is to others, is Acedia's sheer, complete detachment from the mortal realms. Emotionally and cognitively, the evil of Acedia finds expression in a lack of any feeling for the world, for the people in it, or for the self. Acedia takes form as an alienation of the sentient self first from the world and then from itself. And in their existence exists the most profound version of this condition, a withdrawal from all forms of participation in or care for others or oneself. For all under the Sin of Sloth's indiscriminate and gentle hand, what's right will always be forgotten by what's convenient.

Itzal stands at 5'5 with grey-blue hair that seems to move on its own like a shadow that has taken on color. They are unusual in many forms, wearing yellow sclera with blue iris, and grey skin adorned with pointy ears, but the strangest thing on their body would be a mouth on their neck, that always seems to be growling, a low almost unnoticeable growl, a tall collar of sorts often covers that up.

In their demonic form, everything turns into a void-like black, with only bright white eyes that glow in the mass of shadows and their mouth, taking on a more monstrous-like form. However, being made of nothing but shadow, they can take on many different forms. They can be more humanoid, or they can even manipulate their hapless body to have winds, or even take on something more monstrous. While normally they aren't very tall however when entering their full demonic form, they can reach up to 10+ feet but often fall between 7 or 8 feet.

Name: Yukari Kobayakawa

Title: Yukari the Slayer, Purple Flash, Undefeated of the East, That Woman

Age: 122

Gender: Female

Sexuality: Bisexual

Height: 172 cm

Weight: 52 kg

Personality: An introvert through and through, Yukari rarely expresses any sort of emotion. She is not much of a talker either, preferring to keep her thought to herself and a very few bunch of people she'd actually trust. Despite so, Yukari doesn't really mind being involved in social situation as long as there isn't too many people around her. The only time she can tolerate being in a crowd is while she's drinking in a bar as she'd be too indulged in her drinking to be bothered. Because she rarely talks to people, Yukari also has a hard time understanding other people's emotion. She also speaks in an overly matter-of-fact manner, often not aware if she's accidentally insulting someone.

Yukari loves dueling, so much so that her only real purpose in life is to become strong enough to truly be "undefeated". To her, dueling is like talking; she could figure someone out just from their stances, the way they handle their weapon, their breathing, every single small details. She took pride in her ability to be almost nigh untouchable in a duel, but also found great joy in the very few times someone actually stand on par with her. That being said, Yukari also has some standard when it comes to accepting a duel invitation. She doesn't fight underage person, someone she deemed too weak or not driven enough to sacrifice their life just for a chance of defeating her.

While she is mostly well known for her combat ability, Yukari is no slouch when it comes to intellectual matters either. She is dedicated to her study, and she can read up to 10 books per week. She also pick up a lot of new skills rather easily during her journey that was never taught to her during her childhood, such as blacksmithing, playing musical instruments, and many other stuffs.

Distinguishing Features: Tomoe-shaped birthmark on the upper left of her back.

Element:

Air -- being a dark envoy of pride, Yukari ruled over the element of air. While basically this is all boils down to wind manipulation, Yukari is capable of utilizing this power in various creative way. The most obvious way of using this as an offense method is launching wind blades toward her enemies by slicing the air around her. However, there are also other methods she uses to defeat her enemies. For example, she could create a wind tunnel to traverse faster, lift herself up by gushing wind below her, or even create a fast rotating wind around her as a shield bubble. That being said, her ability in her basic form is limited to "moving air really fast". Ironically, the air itself is also Yukari's greatest weakness. Colder temperature makes the air heavier, and thus weaken pretty much all of her primary air element abilities.

Weather manipulation -- A much more extensive form of air manipulation gained in her divine form. When manipulating air on a much larger scale, Yukari may even control the weather around her. She can turn the temperature on her vicinity up or down, creating a prolonged heat wave or summoning abnormal thunderstorm. In her divine form, Yukari's abilities are also less affected by the temperature of the air around her, allowing her abilities to be more consistent in term of power, although she is unable to completely nullify the weakness.

Having a much greater scope of air manipulation also allows Yukari to be much more creative with her power. Through a complicated process of air manipulation, she can even create electric discharge around her, basically summoning lightning from the air around her. Unfortunately, said process is still rather ineffective as it costs a lot of her stamina, especially when just normally manipulating the air around her costs much less for an equally powerful strike. Furthermore, Yukari has very little to no control over the direction of the lightning. Because the lightning summoned by this method is a natural phenomenon rather than supernatural, the electric discharge can easily be neutralized by electric conductive materials i.e. copper, aluminium, the earth itself, etc.

Weapon(s): An Odachi called Yasakamaru. While the blade is said to be made from the remnant of three legendary swords, the blade is otherwise nothing more than a decorative sword had it never reached Yukari's hand.

Envoy Status: Pride

Clan: none

Backstory: For as long as Yukari can remember, she had always been raised by a lone, blind wandering demon. The name of her foster mother is Yato Kobayakawa, sometime masquerading as a geisha with her stage name Fumiko, but much more known by her title "Yato the Slayer" due to her high body count. Yato was also the one who gave Yukari her name, essentially making her Yukari's godmother. They travel from villages to cities, not knowing the direction of their life, yet letting the flow of the wind to guide them.

Through most of her childhood, Yukari learned how to survive through her foster mother. Most importantly, the elder taught Yukari all she knew about swordsmanship.

As Yukari completed her education, Yato revealed the history of Yukari's real family: Yukari was born to a powerful demon family of Hoshiguma. Yukari's mother, Nagato, was the previous Dark Envoy of Pride, which makes her enemy to numerous individuals both humans and demons. Albeit wielding the power of Dark Envoy, Nagato was severely weakened after giving birth to Yukari as her power was split between them. As Nagato fend off more and more aggravated challenger, her body only grows weaker due to the incomplete power of the Dark Envoy, and in her weakest moment Yato swooped in and delivered the final bow. Possessing only part of the power, Yato intended to slay the infant as well, but the influence of the power of Dark Envoy of Pride was strong enough to dissuade her from killing Yukari. Yato revealed that the only way for her to finally possess all of the Envoy's power is to train Yukari until she become strong enough to duel and then Yato has to kill Yukari in a fair combat. Yukari, albeit hesitantly, engaged her Yato in a duel to death. Despite Yato's overwhelming strength and clear difference in battle experience, Yukari somehow managed to snatch victory and kill her own foster mother. From this battle, Yukari obtained the full power of Dark Envoy of Pride and her first title "The Slayer" from her foster mother.

Since then, Yukari traveled all over the world, building her reputation as a legendary undefeated duelist. However, it was all amount to nothing but mindless killing for Yukari. Eventually, Yukari grew tired of all the senseless carnage she had wrought and decided to set one last journey home.

Element: Wind. She can push and move things around and use it for the traversal of things.
-She’s not good when it comes to Moving super heavy things. this usually requires her to get help from others. or when it comes to having to work around large buildings or structures not being able to see everything around it.
-The one thing she specializes in is manipulating the wind around herself, and objects. (mainly in the way of delayed effects. such as touching her shoes then a moment later they shoot out a strong gust of wind to throw her somewhere. another way is throwing one of her shuriken and the wind around it changes it to the size of a giant buzz saw or makes it change direction completely.)But she mainly tries to use it in her field of work.

Envoy Status: None

Clan: Solari (It was the one person who raised was a part of so she says it to get by)

Backstory:
As far back as Zay can remember she has been on the road with her grandfather
going around helping people with his medical care for whatever they could give. One of the first things she was taught was how to use a knife and how to tell edible plants from poisonous ones. Once she got that down she moved on to the ones that could be used for medicines and other things. Helping her grandfather out however much she could. After that, her grandfather taught her to sneak around and gather information so they could have a good place to set up in the next place they stopped. Whenever she asked about it he always said it is good to know if you have any marks in the area before going there. So she now does it before she fully stays in a place for too long.

As she grew older, her grandfather began sharing his extensive knowledge of the medical world with her. She quickly absorbed everything he taught, having observed him in action countless times. One day, while gathering herbs together, she asked him about their family's lineage. He revealed that they belonged to the Solari clan but had left under difficult circumstances. However, when she inquired about her own origins, he evaded the question, always steering the conversation away from the birthmark on her neck. Despite her curiosity, he insisted on leaving the past behind and focusing on the present. As a result, she tried not to dwell on it too much.

When she and her grandfather checked into a hotel for a short stay, he shared some important news with her. He explained that they would have to part ways, as she was old enough to handle things on her own and had some important matters to attend to. Zay didn't question it much, assuming that she was ready to strike out on her own. The next morning, they bid farewell to each other. However, that was more than seven years ago, and she hasn't heard from him since. She continues to follow the lessons he taught her while keeping an ear out for any clues or stories about his mysterious disappearance.

Talents: Medicine, shurikenjutsu, herbalist, and informant.

Hobbies: herbalist, knowledge-gathering, trading, and strength training. Has recently gotten into playing some instruments that she was given as payment. (she sounds bad)

Ptelai
Age: 80

Gender: monoecious (they/them)

Sexuality: pansexual

Height: 4’ without their horns

Weight: 108 lbs (mostly wood)

Distinguishing Features: branch like horns, skin color, eyes glow

Element: wood
  • Commune with plants: They can understand plants’ messages and enjoys keeping up with their gossip
  • Flammable Body: Made mostly of wood, though their bark is thick, their body is as easily flammable as any tree.
  • Plant control: Better with living flora, they can promote growth and guide branches and vines to attack. Still vulnerable to fire and axes, they'll feel the pain inflicted on the plants.

Weapon(s): n/a fights with plants around them.

Backstory: A forest spirit, grown from the depths of a towering jungle, Ptelai has spent their life guarding the trees. They care little of nongrowing things. Even the few animals that have managed to survive in between the trees, matter little to them. Nutrients are rare: many plants getting boosts from the demons that wander into the depths. Ptelai’s magic, along with other wood demons, sustains the flora in a mutually beneficial relationship. Occasionally they gets strength from devouring the stray demons herself, but often they will break through the canopy for some sun.

It is rare that one who entered was growing. Ptelai protected growing things. Few realized that if a youth was still young enough to grow, they would not be harmed in the forest. Not Ptelai’s section, at least. But this child was a curiosity. They could tell by its shape, its stubby horns and fairly useless wings that it was a child, but they did not feel it growing. Something could stop growth beyond death? It was an affront. It was fascinating. So Ptelai followed behind, collecting scales as they went.

They let the child leave the forest, sure that it would return for them to study. But it did not. Later, they heard the child was missing. That it was important enough to be missing. Important enough that someone would know the answers they sought. They tried a scale, after hearing of its properties. Their power was amazing. Nearly uncontrollable. Everything within a hundred feet radius grew at once.

Now they want more, but more than that, they wanted answers. What cursed this child? Could they take something else that was supposed to grow and stop it? Distort it? Use the power of its growth as their own? When they learned a council would be called, they dared to enter the Sloth domain. They wrapped vines around their arms, turning the thorns into their bark, to fight the poison in the air. The plants sang of dreams and sleep, making their steps sway. Knowing the wood envoy was always watching, they called out, “I ask for an audience with the Mother Tree,” which was what most wood demons considered Acedia. They offered their potential knowledge, a scale raised to prove their claim. They would speak of the child, if the information of how it was cursed is shared.

Talents: Botany, weaving, climbing

Hobbies: walking through the forest,

Other: Though they are affected by all sins, Greed and Pride are reigning supreme.

Backstory:
Lala had a pretty rough life growing up a lot of that was due to her being half human and half demon. Lala assumes they are rare for she has never met another like herself. Lala's father wasn't around in the beginning. Her father had a one-night stand with a human woman named Clara and she wasn't too happy about being pregnant. The fact it was a demon didn't matter much. Though that didn't didn't stop the half-breed insults that she would throw Lala's way whenever she was angry. Growing up Lala was picked on a lot by humans and demons alike. Humans see her as a freak and demons look down on her and see her as lesser than because of her human blood. Despite Lala's human blood though she was quite powerful. The demon blood overpowered her human blood.

Lala's mother was a drunk and a lot of times would take her anger out on Lala when she was a child. When her father came to realize he had a child he came to meet Lala. Her father didn't seem to thrilled at having a half-breed child he took her to live with him. Her father was strict and always had her training to become a better and stronger demon. And Lala ended up surpassing her father's expectations. Lala's father was a gambling addict he was always gambling and spending money at a casino owned by a demon named Argin. Lala's father soon racked up a humungous debt. To pay up that debt he gave away Lala to Argin to work it off. In the beginning, Lala was nothing but an annoyance that Argin wanted practically nothing to do with plus it didn't help that she was just some half-breed. But as time went by the two of them became close and the fact she was good at following orders and doing jobs well helped. Once her family debt had been paid Argin released her from her duties but she decided to stay. For one there was nowhere for her to go and she liked working for Argin. She saw him as a friend and didn't want to leave his side. Now she's permanently working as his right hand and although she does work for him she tends to do whatever she wants.

Shad become the very first demon Argin had ever come to truly trust. When the time came for her family debt to be paid Argin reluctantly released her of her duties, but to his surprise, she remained. From then on, he would push on to his goals with his new companion, his climb a little less lonely.

Distinguishing Features:

Soma has several scars and tattoos that line his arms, back, and torso. The trails lead to the Envoy brand located in the center of his chest. These markings are always on full display due to Soma's dislike of wearing shirts, as they prevent him from being able to feel the breeze on his skin.

Element:

As the Envoy of Kindness, Soma possesses exceptional skill in manipulating wind. The element's main strength is its versatility, allowing Soma to increase his maneuverability through flight and high-speed movements. With fine control over the wind and air pressure, strong gale forces can be used to cut, push, and crush targets. In addition, his sense of hearing and smell can be heightened by taking note of the smells and sounds carried through the air.

In his divine form, Soma has greater control over the air, able to manipulate the temperature to create changes in the weather and stronger wind currents. However, he lacks proper control over these changes, only able to generate them within a certain area instead of being able to precisely manipulate them.

Proper control is key to manipulating the element, especially when using stronger force and more complex techniques. A vital part of maintaining this control is managing the air flowing through Soma's body as he breathes. High amounts of physical exertion or other circumstances that make it difficult to breathe disrupt this flow, lessening the strength and control over his abilities.

Clan:

The Zora clan, while not outright opposed to modern lifestyles and technology, has traditionally kept to themselves in areas surrounded by nature. Like any other village of their kind, they sustain themselves through agriculture, harvesting various crops and raising livestock. Members of Zora, however, set themselves apart from common farmers and such through their bountiful, high-quality yields.

Possessing what some refer to as a "connection to the world", the Zora use their elemental affinity to judge changes in the wind and its flow. It aids with predicting the weather, the tides, and a fair amount of similar conditions that give them a better understanding of the world around them. It contributes heavily to their preference to avoid more densely populated and polluted areas.

They choose not to disturb the land more than necessary. Their homes are simple, and they don't care to clear out existing vegetation or wildlife. The relationship between them and the land is almost symbiotic in how they care for each other, but there are many other aspects that make up Zora culture.

More than mere farmers, the Zora clan is also committed to serving its role in aiding against the threat of demons. They pass down their martial and magical techniques to each generation, practicing extensively. Whenever a new Envoy is chosen, they and other gifted members leave the village in order to provide aid wherever needed, adopting a nomadic lifestyle.

Backstory:

The Zora clan had a long tradition that was always practiced following the selection of a new Envoy. Along with the Envoy, several members of the clan would leave home and venture out into the world, adopting a nomadic lifestyle and providing aid wherever it was needed. Along with a handful of other determined individuals, Soma's parents chose to accompany the Envoy, wishing to help in the battle against the terrifying demons that threatened humankind.

Despite being faced with many dangers during their travels, the newly appointed Envoy and their eager followers were met with great success. They won many battles without suffering so much as a scratch and received constant praise from the people they helped. It brought them a sense of comfort and security, leading to more lax behavior and confidence. It was during this time that Soma was conceived and eventually born.

Not long after Soma's birth, tragedy struck the group that had their sharpness dulled by accomplishments. Sensing a moment of weakness and carelessness, demons descended upon the Envoy and their party. Ill prepared for the ambush, the group got their first taste of struggle.

Few Zora members fell during the conflict, but Soma's parents were unfortunately among the deceased. Soma himself only managed to survive thanks to the Envoy who took a mighty blow upon themselves in order to safeguard the infant. Having already pushed themselves to the limit in order to protect as many people as possible and finish off the remaining enemies, the wound they suffered was deep. They would live, but would never truly heal from it.

Following the incident, the Envoy returned home with the injured, only staying for a short time to recuperate before setting out again to fulfill their duties. Soma was left in the care of the Zora clan's leader, an elderly woman named Haba. That would be the last time the Envoy set foot in the village.

From then on, Soma was brought up by Haba. The elder had always been a parental figure in the community, looking after the children while their parents were busy, so she opted to house Soma instead of passing him along to another family. Although, that proved to be more challenging than anticipated.

Soma was a wild child. While he was never particularly rebellious, he had more than double the energy of any other kid. He could rarely sit still, always running off somewhere and getting into some form of trouble that an adult would need to fish him out of. It was tiring to deal with at times, but others found it difficult to stay upset with him for very long, as he never acted with bad intentions.

Even as a child, Soma always retained a certain positivity that never seemed to fade. He was always outspoken and forthcoming, something that wasn't too common in a culture that was typically more reserved and tranquil. However, as much as he existed as an opposite to many Zora qualities, he also exemplified them.

In his own way, Soma always did his best to be kind and helpful, rarely showing any signs of discomfort or negativity. He also possessed strong talents in martial and elemental skills, noticeably ahead of his peers. He had a deeper understanding of the world around him, operating on a policy of only feeling and never thinking. With all of these qualities in mind, Soma became one of many Envoy candidates at the age of sixteen.

After the previous Envoy succumbed to old injuries, the selection process for a replacement began. As the primary candidate, Soma was the first to be brought before Haba to receive judgment. It was only once they were in seclusion that his guardian explained the rite of passage.

As Haba explained it, the Envoy of Kindness had to truly embody the virtue. Many people were capable of being good-natured and going through life with pure intentions, but the world was often indifferent to such things. Reality could be cruel, and it was filled with all manner of terrible things. Horrible experiences could corrupt a good heart, even someone meant to represent a virtue. In order to ensure their choice of Envoy would never succumb to dark urges after being blessed with great power, candidates would be put through a certain trial.

Through the use of medicines, magics, and a variety of other methods, the Envoy candidate would be forced to endure great trauma. They would be worn down physically, mentally, and spirituality, forced to confront pain and their own inner demons. They'd experience hunger, relive their greatest regrets, and go through a great deal of other hardships many people in the world faced every day.

The Zora believed that if a person could come out of such a trial without breaking, they would truly be able to embody the virtue of kindness. With newfound experiences and strengthened resolve, they could truly empathize with others and fully commit to their duties. They would forge a deeper connection to their divine form, and there would be less risk of them falling to darkness following their ascension. However, the clan acknowledged that this method was extreme and that it carried many risks. For this reason, they only ever presented the trial to candidates who were willing, never wanting to force it upon others.

It was not uncommon for the clan to go through several candidates until finding one who accepted the terms, but Soma didn't hesitate to agree. He never considered backing out even for a moment, fully prepared for what awaited him. He was willing to do whatever was necessary to become the Envoy, believing it was something he owed to the world.

He'd always known the truth of what happened to his parents and that the previous Envoy was injured while trying to save him. Certain members of the community looked at him with disdain for this reason, and while it never succeeded in affecting his cheerful disposition, he always found himself in agreement with their views.

Ever since he was old enough to properly understand his feelings on the matter, Soma believed he had done a terrible thing by being born. It was because of him that the previous Envoy suffered crippling injuries that slowly peeled away at their life. Many people suffered because the Envoy was never as strong as they were prior to being wounded, so the blood was on his hands. He could never do enough to make up for it, but he was always willing to do as much as possible. Any pain associated with the trial would only be a fraction of what others had to endure.

After agreeing to the trial, Soma was isolated for a single month. He was forcibly kept in a state between consciousness and unconscious, never knowing what was real. Between moments of physical pain, he experienced visions of his parents and the previous Envoy, facing their harsh cruelty as they reminded him of what his life cost others. Tortured by his own mind, he was also subjected to frighteningly real horrors that people all over the world lived through every day.

When the month was over, Soma emerged from his isolation. Mind and body still adorned with fresh scars, he greeted Haba with a smile. Despite everything, his heart was unscathed. To him, the trial was nothing more than a series of affirmations regarding what he already knew. More than ever, he was prepared to do all he could to give back to a world he felt like he had wronged.

Not long after his triumph, Soma received his brand, officially marking him as the Envoy of Kindness. As was tradition, he and many others prepared to leave the village, ready to lend a hand wherever one was needed. However, unlike many of his predecessors, Soma refused the company of other Zora members, intent on traveling alone.

Since that day, Soma has lived life on the road, only occasionally returning to his clan's village when summoned. Like all those before him, he goes wherever he feels he is needed, letting the wind guide him. Whether it be facing demons or giving a local farmer help with tilling the land, he makes sure to give everything his best.

Personality:
True to his title, Soma is an affable and fun-loving man who doesn't let much put a damper on his mood. He's usually found with a smile on his face, always on the lookout for excitement and chances for new experiences. Not too fond of doom and gloom or focusing on the negatives of a situation for very long, he prefers to look on the bright side of things and move on to something that's more likely to get people lively.

With how much he enjoys thrills and avoids serious, boring topics, Soma's behavior is often described as childish. Bad habits like getting easily distracted and occasionally falling asleep during important discussions do him no favors in his attempts to fight these allegations, but the worst of it all are his airheaded tendencies.

Soma isn't exactly the bookish type. There are many things he doesn't understand, and trying to explain things to him can be quite challenging. Getting him to explain can be even worse, as putting things into words has never been his strong point. He's a physical learner, picking things up better through feeling. As a result, trying to get a thorough explanation out of him is likely to result in him making various sounds that describe sensations and assuming the other party will just understand.

He prefers thinking with his heart instead of his brain, making judgements based on how he feels instead of thinking for too long. Once he's committed to acting on those feelings, he can be quite stubborn, only willing to budge after a good amount of convincing. However, there are some things he will refuse to be swayed on.

Despite his rather carefree nature, Soma takes his role as an Envoy very seriously. He fulfills his duties to the best of his ability, giving his all to keep the world and its people safe. When it comes to such matters, he can be uncharacteristically serious, revealing some of his wisdom that usually remains buried beneath lax behavior.

He takes his role seriously, but Soma does not consider himself to be worthy of it. In his opinion, he is merely a placeholder waiting for someone better to eventually come along. It is attributed to a deep feeling of self-loathing, and he believes that his life is not worth much. He places no value on himself, and he comfortably views his death as an inevitability that could come any day. However, these thoughts have not made him completely reckless or uncaring.

Soma will always do his best to survive, as his life is meant to be spent in service to others. He is completely dedicated to this purpose, possessing a fierce determination and fighting spirit that pushes him to persevere through all obstacles.
