.ERSONALITY:. Ryota is a very serious and logical Pokemon trainer. Everything he does is put towards one goal: Being the best. He does not think of Pokemon as companions or friends, but more like battlers. His choice of Pokemon is always based on if the Pokemon is strong, or will do well in battle. He is not the type to go for the cutesy Pokemon. Ryota is very strict and it is hard to get him to smile. He is a quick learner and gets angry with people that don't keep up with him. He can be kind of a jerk sometimes and is certainly not one to joke around. He always has the best intentions at heart, though, and although it may not seem like it, he is only like this because he was forced to be. His love for Pokemon and his caring personality have been long buried under thick cement. Deep down, somewhere, he is a loving and compassionate guy, even though Ryota does not show it, heck, even hint it.




.:BACKSTORY:. Ryota's mother and father were kind and nurturing people.. once upon a time. Ryota's mother died after his birth and his father was so angered and depressed over the loss of his beloved wife that he took it out on Ryota. Instead of a father, he became more of a dictator, being incredibly harsh on his young boy. Ryota was taught not to be a slacker. Not to be an idiot. To be quick, and strong, and always to win. Ryota became cold and disconnected like his father. He was once a happy young boy, fascinated with the wonders of the world, but his father changed all that. Ryota can barely remember who he once was. When Ryota was finally deemed old enough to get his very own Pokemon, he spent hours researching, his father over his shoulder nearly the whole time. What Pokemon were in the area? What Pokemon had the least weaknesses? Fighting type, fire type, rock type, which was the strongest? He fell asleep on his desk multiple times. I have to please my father, Ryota said to himself. I cannot let him down.. Well, that was just what Ryota did. The Professor gave Ryota the option to pick one of the starters they had at the moment, or go and look for his own. Of course, Ryota took option two. After quite a few hours of searching, he came across a very shy young Piplup. For a moment, his tough personality and logical thinking melted away and he knelt next to the Piplup and asked if it would like to go with him. The Piplup had agreed.




.:STRENGTHS:.

Ryota is a tough and logical opponent. He chooses Pokemon and strategies based off of who he will be battling, versatility, flexibility, strength, and weakness. Ryota, if he must, will spend hours dividing the perfect strategy to defeat an opponent. He is very dedicated and a hard worked, and does not stop until the job is done.

.:WEAKNESSES:.

Ryota is a very strict, cold, and disconnected man. He does not show love or compassion often and is not one to joke around. Because of this he can seem very rude, which he sometimes actually is. He does not have patients for slackers or procrastinators. He also has a quick temper and doesn't befriend/trust Pokemon or people easily.

Ryota's partner is a female Piplup named Castaway, who Ryota has only realized recently that is a shiny/colored Piplup. Most Piplup are prideful creatures, but not this one. Shy and quiet, but when Ryota needs her, Castaway knows how to get the job done, just like he.
