His sister is Yin Emily Dawson and she is married with two children, Kuzu (his niece who is four) and Jack (his nephew who is six). They live in Tokyo. A younger brother, David Taiyo Dawson, who is attending Wichita State University in Wichita, KS to become an electrical engineer.
Pets: A five-month old black lab named Shadow.
Personality and Life
Personality: Makoto is a quiet person who tends to keep to himself and doesn't speak unless spoken too. He tends to keep to himself and prefers working alone compared to working in a team with a group of people because he usually ends up doing most of the work anyway if he's in a team which he detests. Makota will work in a team if he is forced to do so but he'll complain about it in his head and off work. He isn't into the partying/drinking scene at college so he tends to not have a lot of friends his age that he can really get along with. If you can manage to become his friend, then Makoto is a very loyal person and will keep his friends' secrets unless the secret could end up harming the friend. Then he will tell someone even if it loses him that friendship. Makoto doesn't rush into danger, instead he will analyze the situation from a distance before deciding what to do and thus act appropriately. He is patient and analytical as well.
Makoto loves being outdoors and around nature. He's a big animal person/tree hugger though he doesn't force his beliefs on other people, recognizing that everyone has a different opinion and is entitled to it. Makoto is intelligent and has a lot of patience as well as loving children and hopes to have his own one day when he is done with college and has paid off all his loans. He doesn't want to bring children into the world until he is debt free but if he does end up having a child before he finishes school then he will step up and support the child, even if it means sacrificing his own dreams and education to do so. Family is very important to Makoto and he will do anything for his family.
Bio: Makoto was born and grew up in Boston, MA USA. His father worked as a computer software developer and his mom was a waitress in a local restaurant most of his life. His dad worked hard to provide for his family as his dad was an immigrant to the USA a few years before WW2 broke out. When WW2 broke out, his father, uncle and grandparents were some of the Japanese-Americans put into one of the camps for the duration of the war. Makoto's mom was from a small rural town in KS who grew up poor and eventually ran away from home to escape her drug addict step father and she lived on the streets most of her adolescent life, never able to finish school.
Makoto's father eventually got out after WW2 ended and went back to school to continue his education and then went on to college under a scholarship though it was still a long hard road for the young man. His mother ended up getting her GED and spent the rest of her life working at a restaurant as a waitress. His parents met when his father came in one December day when school was out to get a coffee and something hot to eat. The two began chatting and after dating for eight months, his father proposed to his mother. They were engaged for a year and three months before tying the knot and his brother was born ten months later.
Makoto's parents eventually had his sister two years after his brother was born and then he came along four years after his sister was born. His younger brother was born a year after him. His family grew up in a middle class neighborhood but had a hard life due to their ancestry as many people were still getting over the effects of the second World War so the children had to deal with being called names and threats being issued to them. His mother was disowned by her parents for dating his father so he grew up never knowing his mother's family.
When Makoto turned eighteen, he graduated high school and took a couple years off to travel Europe and Asia, paid for by his trust fund that his grandparents and parents had set aside for him. He met his ex-girlfriend in Germany as she was an exchange student and they dated for three years while before they broke it off due to recognizing that a long distance relationship would be hard to continue since Makoto was planning on going home to work and his girlfriend wanted to focus on her career without a relationship getting in the way. It hurt Makoto to lose his girlfriend as he loved her but he didn't push her into staying and they went their separate ways. He worked for a while to save up money to go to school and then applied to University of Southern Maine where he got accepted to begin his bachelor degree.
