==== Ethnicity - He is of various African and Asian ancestry. Kye thinks that he must be Eastern African due to him being born on the island of Réunion. As for his mother they never really talked about her Asian background so he simply doesn't know.
==== Skin - Kye is black and of African descent. His skin is perhaps best described like warm umber, smooth espresso, or earthy walnut. His skin if not due to his godly power would have been damaged to due the salty sea water. Instead his complexion remains smooth and rubbery. For his shark features, he has scars on his chest and around his sides from where his gils come through in the ocean. His human skin jaggedly meets his tail and although he is mostly a merman the scales still cut into his dark flesh leaving small scars across his stomach and back.
==== Height - In his human for he is pretty tall standing at about 6'4 mainly due to his mother's small height meeting his father's giant genes. When in the water however his shark tail and fins makes him about 14 feet in length about the length of an actual shark.
==== Weight - Kye is in shape from swimming and so his weight whilst dependant on his height is good for his body. In his human for he is 170lbs. In his merman form his tail adds weight and he is unsure how much he weighs but he is probably double or triple his human weight.
==== Build - Kye is in great shape from swimming and due to being a god. It doesn't maintain its self though and during prolonged time on land he needs to keep fit and in a good condition. He makes sure work out regularly and even though he loves snacks, he must eat right and avoid junk food.
==== Hair - The Ocean God was blessed by his father with beautiful 4 type hair. While on land he loves to grow it out and try as many different hair styles. However in the ocean he cannot do that due to having his head constantly under the salty water. He often either keeps his hair really short or braids his hair, pushing it back out of his face. Ever since Kye has been on land he had considered his hair to be part of his personality and so to not be able to have fun with it is difficult.
==== Facial Features - Kye's big dark eyes and well maintained eyebrows are very expressive and are the key to seeing if he's lying or being deceptive. His face is pretty well proportioned. His top lip is slightly bigger than his bottom lip. They are one of his most loved features other than his hair and body. He doesn't like his ears for some reason. Kye doesn't mention if it's because of the shape or the size but it's known that he doesn't like his ears. He has a prominent jawline and nice lines throughout his face and body.

Personality -
Kye has quite a conflicting personality. He wishes to be a casual, easy-going person but his personality is quite far from that. As a young God he was considered spritely, joyous and always wanting more from life. He was loved by ocean life and had the kind of outgoing nature that people were drawn to but age and responsibility has made him more anxious and worried. Kye is also a learner by choice but sucks at doing things he knows he has to do but doesn't like. He takes pride in his appearance, maybe a little too much pride, and makes sure his hair looks great even when it shouldn't matter. If it doesn't it brings his usually happy mood down. He tries not to think about the negatives in his life but when he does it severely affects him and the ocean. If it's rough out on the LA coast and there's dark clouds in the air, just know that Kye is having a bad day.

The God struggles making friends. People often think he's coming off to strong but he's just really enthusiastic to meet new people. Others don't see it that way though. The constant lack of strong platonic relationships and zero romantic experiences has made him extremely fragile when it comes to rejection. It almost lead to him fearing relationships altogether but various work colleagues helped him get out of that through their constant kindness and supportive actions. Also Kye is very impulsive. He acts without thinking, says the wrong things and the wrong times and has to hold himself back from spending too much human money. This could not only push more people away from him but is a big flaw in his mind. In general Kye has a lot of difficulty in life due to his complex experiences, mind and personality. Perhaps with more stable relations or maybe some future romance would lead to others helping him understand himself.

Kye was the only child of 2000 year old Bahari, a half giant half squid god, ruler of the Ocean who traversed the depths of the Pacific, and 500 year old Palan, a mermaid nymph known for her love of travel. Growing up Kye knew his father was a very important and powerful person. His mother also made sure Kye was well aware of his destiny. He was born to be god of the rain. However he wasn't fond of his job. It was just swimming and travelling the world, stopping droughts from happening and making sure children didn't go thirsty. It was important but was more of a manager role. He wanted something more exciting. He was (and still is) young when his father was imprisoned at the bottom of the Marianas Trench by other powerful gods. Bahari was considered guilty without trial for causing lots of unnecessary damage to humanity and lesser deities. Whether he actually committed these crimes Kye never knew. His mother refused to speak about it. Palan was too upset by it. The gods knew they couldn't leave the ocean without it's god. The sea needed flow and the ocean needed to give its food sources to humanity. Therefore a small number of powerful Gods needed to organise a transfer of power between Bahari and his only son.

Kye gained lots of new powers after the ceremony which was the excitement he was looking for. It took a long time for him to become stable with them and accidentally caused some slight issues with the fishing routes, weather changes and tide irregularities. He know noticed that all his powers were more affected by his emotions than ever before. He realised that he'd need to become more in tune with his emotions immensely so he left the ocean to try and figure out his own path. He tied various untrue religions to see if they had any wisdom he didn't know. He wasted hus time. Kye tried talking at a mental health recovery group and faked a whole story to try and come across as not immortal. It worked as he learned about humanity this way. At last he began meditation and other bodily cleansing activities to get this under control which actually worked. By the end of many trials and challenges, he managed to have less crazy emotional episodes and he learned about himself like how when on land he has asthma due to having adapted too much to water breathing.

As a God he knew he had a duty to humanity so he thought he should learn as much as he should about the people he'd be serving. Kye forged some documents and enrolled himself in an American high school. It was a real mixture of stuff he learned. Some stuff he wished he could correct his history teacher but he knew he had to bite his tongue. He eventually graduated high school with some good grades but with no documents proving he was a real American citizen, he knew he couldn't get a high end or flashy job to make money. He also couldn't do anything involving swimming or he'd expose himself.

He began travelling ever since, picking up odd jobs to get money to live and he ended up buying a storage unit in LA to house any belongings that he couldn't take underwater with him. He liked the surface but the ocean was his true home and he tried to visit when he can. The only problem being that he was unsure if he'd be found by fishing boats if he went back out there too much or stayed out there long term. Kye also fell in love with his awesome black hair whilst on land and knew he couldn't have it if he went back out there. He also knew he'd have to stop lurking near the ocean floor where no one would see him and would have to attend to a lot more problems and responsibilities something he wasn't used to. He is still no where near as powerful as his father. So he's at an impass right now. The young ocean god has to choose if he risks the danger at sea or stays on land where he lacks human financial security. For now he will stay on land where he can be safe from Godly problems. And no, Kye isn't a pussy; he's being a good strategist and taking what he's willing to take.

~2~One of his hobbies is listening to music but he had no regard for what is and is not good music so he likes the weirdest genres and songs.

• Verity – Hermosa has the ability to compel an individual to tell her the truth. It works best when used upon someone that has god blood in their veins whether they be a god or demigod. This is achieved through eye contact. The longer she holds your eye contact, the stronger the urge will be for you to tell her the truth. Resisting or telling her falsehood will in turn, cause you pain. Once Hermosa settles her gaze upon you and focuses her attention, it almost feels like you want to meet her gaze. Her presence demands acknowledgment.
• Protector of Womankind & Granter of Fertility – This is one of Hermosa’s greatest abilities and one she pays attention to the most. When a woman is in danger, and calls out to her, Hermosa will know and hear her plea. In those moments, she is strengthened beyond the means of a stereotypical god or goddess and imbued with otherworldly strength and ability to defend the victim. She is able to open a door to the person pleading for her help and teleport to them for maximum efficiency. Hermosa is only able to teleport under those strict conditions. She is also able to bless people with higher chances of fertility or curse those undeserving with the symptoms of pregnancy.
• General Superhuman Strength & Dexterity
• Agelessness – Hermosa isn’t immortal; she can die and be killed but she is immune to the ravages of time
• Foresight – Hermosa can look into people’s past and futures but to do so, she requires continued direct skin contact. The further she wants to go, the longer she must be touching them. The past is easy, it has already been written but the future is more finicky. The futures Hermosa can see are all the possible futures the individual has. As they make more decisions, the probability for the futures will shift and change. It is needless to say that looking into someone’s future typically proves to be inconclusive unless they are a very determined individual and even then, it may still prove to be murky at best.

Headcanons [10-ish minimum]:

• Eun-Ju had been born to a concubine in the Royal Palace of Korean Emperor. Her early life had been filled with gazing at flowers, education deemed essential for a woman to possess which included but was not limited to reading, embroidery, dancing, painting, and entertaining, and general princess lessons. Her mother had been one of the emperor’s favourites though she was never ‘the’ favourite, nor would she ever be the Queen
• Eun-Ju met dignitaries, princes, lords, ladies, and every form of noble in between when they were visiting
• During a fit of jealousy upon her mother’s gradual ascension to becoming the emperor’s favourite, there had been an unfortunate attack. Almost every person, from her mother to the lowest hand maiden had been slain. Eun-Ju had been squirreled away and saved by her old wet nurse. Her mother had given them enough time to get out and barely escape. Confused and terrified, Eun-Ju had been whisked away into the night and her wet nurse had taken her all the way back to her hometown.
• The woman’s hometown was deep in the countryside. There were rice paddies and oxen for as far as the eye could see. Here, Eun-Ju grew up.
• Her wet nurse had always been jovial and made playful remarks about how Eun-Ju must’ve had her mother’s great genetics for it would seem that she never aged even as the wet nurse got older and frailer with each passing day. Eventually, her wet nurse succumbed to the natural passing of time and concluded her time on Earth and passed on.
• Eun-Ju was truly on her own for the very first time in her life and she was determined to see the world. See the rest of the Kingdom.
• Just like that, years, decades, centuries would pass – with every day that passed that she remained youthful and beautiful, cemented something she knew deep in her bones; she was different
• Birds had always seemed to follow her and flowers always appeared to bloom a little more vigorously in her presence but Eun-Ju had dismissed it, tricks of the mind, she convinced herself. But on her 86th birthday, Eun-Ju stumbled upon a clue that gave her some further insight into her true nature.
• She really wasn’t a mortal but something more. She wasn’t immortal from what the letter said but rather she was ageless. She could still die but the effects of time wouldn’t be something she would feel. As she pulled upon the strings, her world unraveled around her, and she learned more about the world than she ever thought possible.
• There had one other her before – or rather, whatever she was had existed before. She was the current iteration. She learned that she was the embodiment of Hera. Feverishly she researched and learned all she could and set out to study and investigate what all the previous versions of her had left behind.
• Eventually, Eun-Ju came to settle in the United States, moving all around the country, changing her name constantly to remain off the grid. These days she has settled into Los Angeles and picked up the additional moniker of “Hermosa”. She learned she loved being by the ocean. There was something about this place that had rooted her to it
• Hermosa is fierce, maternal, empathetic, compassionate and observant. The years have allowed her to gain mastery over her abilities. Her careful eyes watch everything around her. One doesn’t live as long as she does without picking up some tricks and knowing what to watch for. Hermosa also finds that she can be wrathful, petty, stubborn, altruistic, and blunt. As she has come into her nature and learned what she is, she has learned that there is a darker nature to her. Her anger isn’t one that can be easily contained. Sometimes, Hermosa isn’t able to let the little things go. She knows it’s not the best trait to have but it’s compulsive just is her nature towards altruism. She would be much more willing to be the one hurting to protect those she deemed worth protecting than let them suffer in her stead.

- A bastard child, born to the concubine of a mountain deity. Because of her illegitimacy, she was banished along with her mother to the mortal realm.
- Lived in seclusion in a mountain protected by tinakchi, mysterious beings who dwell in the mountains who have never been seen by mortals.
- Her mother informed her of her duties and trained her to cultivate her powers as the Goddess of the Home.
- Against the will of her protectors she left the mountain to explore once she reached adolescence, but was kidnapped by the Spanish when they invaded the islands and was sent back to Spain as a slave. Her mother has grieved her loss ever since.
- She lived in Madrid as a servant girl but then snuck on a boat to escape and ended up in Amsterdam a few years after the Dutch declared independence.
- She was raised by a merchant family and started living a mortal life for a while admitting her immortality. Her family didn't understand what she meant or that she was implying it literally. But as they aged, they noticed she was aging at a slower pace.
- When she decided to return home, she found out her mother couldn't handle the loss of her child and died of grief.
- Althea was in a deep depression staying secluded in her home in Manila for decades.
- With reinvigorated purpose, Althea had reached the end of her adolescent period and the Americans had kicked the Spanish out to colonize the islands. Althea joined as a volunteer nurse where she learned first aid.
- When the Philippines fell, Althea returned to Amsterdam in the midst of a cultural and intellectual movement where she finally got an architecture degree.
