Fandom The New Justice League/Young Justice: Operation Cerebrum

DankWaffles

Go Home, Go Bed
The year is 2097, the Justice League and any other hero team has been disbanded and the heroes are in hiding, except the essential heroes. Few are still living as heroes, but most of the other heroes have begun to start a normal life as a citizen. The crime rate is stable, but is increasing steadily. The streets are filled with a new drug called TVMF. As far as any police officer knows, it contains a few particles of Venom within in it. The drug is best known to enhance the capabilities of the user. Giving them peak conditions of strength, speed, endurance, and senses. In short, it makes them more then just a criminal on steroids, it makes them beyond the levels of a Super Soldier even. When TVMF reached Star City, the Green Arrow, not Oliver Queen since it's years after him dawning the hood and bow, tried to stop the shipments from reaching the criminals, but he was unsuccessful. It ended with his death, but before he died, he recorded a message. A message that was broadcasted across the nation, stating that the current heroes reinitiate the Justice League and the Young Justice programs. About a year later, many people were beginning to be recruited into either the Young Justice, or the Justice League. For the Young Justice team, their base is still located at Mount Justice, but they do have mobile bases as well. For example, they have an enormous Destroyer ship that hides beneath the Ocean's surface and is equipped with pulse canons, an EMP, a communications device scrambler, radar scanner, radar scrambler and a small fleet of fighter boats called the Auroras. The Head/Leader of both teams is Superman, yet he is much older but wiser as well. For the Justice League, their base is located somewhere in the Thermosphere of Earth, in the Watchtower 3.0.

The story will revolve around you and your team facing off against a new threat that will incorporate the drug TVMF. If you're a Justice League member, you'll try to eliminate the production of these drugs. If you join the Young Justice Team, you'll try to stop the shipments from getting into the hands of the thugs, and other criminals. Both teams will fight highly trained soldiers with a dangerous arsenal, capable of taking on the whole police force. Although, there will be Androids that will also act as the enemy "minions". Plus, you can involve a possible Inner Conflict for your character, if you want to.

[Basically, this RP will be a mix of new heroes that are in the Young Justice team, or the Justice League. You are to create a character, if you please, and assign him to one of these 2 teams. I will provide a link to the Character sheet if you're interested. Keep in mind that if you choose one of these teams, your character must be at a reasonable age. So don't have a 30 year old superhero join the Young Justice. That's why the name YOUNG, is in the title Young Justice. Now you may have questions and I will be more then happy to answer them. One question that I can scratch off right now is,

Q: Can our character be a descendant of a former hero?

A: The answer is yes. You can make a character related to a former hero, such as Batman, but do keep in mind that it must be an understandable relation. So don't make your character the son of Batman, but instead make him your grandfather, or along that guide.

"Recognize, Sprint 13390." ,the automated voice said as Theo transported from the Hall of Justice to Mount Justice, via the Zeta Tube.

Theo was carrying a duffel bag on his back, since he was recently recruited into the Young Justice program, and observed the innards of his new home. His parents had signed a paper saying that the reinstated Justice League would have parental control over Theo, meaning they are now his "parents".

"This place looks just like the picture that great grandfather had." ,Theo thought.

He did a quick "super-run" of the base and gave himself the tour. When he found the boys quarters he dropped his bag at the first door on the left and looked into his room. The room itself looked like it cost a fortune, compared to his room back in his parent's house.

sleek-bedroom.jpeg

Theo picked his bag back up and walked inside. When he reached the foot of his bed, he plopped his bag down on the bed and started unpacking. Now of course, this was too slow for Theo, so he decided to speed things up a bit and used his speed to his advantage. He finished putting all of his clothes away and went to go exit his new room, when he found a note that was slipped under the door. It read, "Meeting in 20 minutes, at central hub. Must attend. ~Batman". Theo had a weird feeling taking orders from Batman, since he did scare the crap out of even though Theo never met him, but he had to. Under this new agreement between him and his parents, he must do what they say so that no one gets hurt.

"Oh goodie, I just can't wait to meet the rest of the team." ,Theo said in his head, sarcastically.

15 minutes later, Theo dashed out of his room, his lightning trail following behind, and into the Cortex, or central hub. Papers were being scattered everywhere as he slid into the Cortex, stopping himself from running. He was the first one there, until he sensed someone in the shadows behind him and turned his head to see their silhouette standing and watching him. They came out of the shadows and said, "Hello." in a friendly voice.

The male lay on his bed, an arm halfheartedly outstretched as he brought energy fields to life above him, channeling power through his fingers and watching as small blue orbs came to life from them, filling like a balloon being inflated the longer they remained attached to his fingers. After a few seconds, he'd detach the shield, flicking it with a finger into the air above him, where several force fields already floated, suspended in midair, slowly moving about like bubbles and sometimes colliding, in which they'd merge into one larger field.

A backpack rested next to him on the mattress, its weight slightly digging into the soft material of the blankets. He didn't have much he'd brought from home - just the bare essentials, a laptop, earbuds, and outfits he'd assembled to his liking to last for a good while. Even so, the backpack was slightly bulging, filled to capacity, looking as if it might burst despite the relatively limited amount of objects he'd packed. He had realised that it didn't reflect on him and how much he'd packed, but rather the backpack itself, in a slight flicker of amusement.

He'd received the note under his door from Batman a few minutes earlier, the directions scrawled on the paper in the black inkiness of a pen. And nothing against Batman - the guy was brilliant, Hysan would give him that - but he just couldn't find the strength or patience in himself to rouse himself from the stupor he'd sunk into ever since arriving at the compound to go anywhere. His cerulean irises were closed for the time being, his hand almost moving of its own accord to periodically summon his shields and fling them into the air, creating quite a spectacle of oscillating light in the darkened room, as he'd immediately blocked the sunlight from cheerily streaming in through the windows with the use of the provided shades upon entering the room, the shades stubbornly coming down over and blocking the sun's rays from entering and throwing the entire room into darkness.

Then there were the other metahumans that he was sure to meet at some point, those who he'd eventually be fighting alongside as a requisite of the Young Justice program. Granted, he was sure that they were all friendly, outgoing people, but Hysan had never really felt comfortable around other people and humanity, really, as a whole. He'd have to force himself to get up and overcome his shy nature as well as find his way to whatever Centre Hub the note had referred to - and, as he was feeling particularly lazy at the moment, he found no interest in what seemed like a lot of work.

Groaning, he paused his absent-minded shield spawning to raise his hands to his face, rubbing his eyes before running his fingers through his hair, gripping the wavy coarseness of the material, reluctantly opening his eyes to gaze upon the light show above him. His shields had migrated to the corners of the room - at least, the ones he'd earlier produced, and floated about in a sort of ethereal version of bumper cars, the multitudes of indigo orbs colliding and absorbing and bouncing and making their way to other parts of the room.

He contented himself with watching the phenomenon above him before sighing, dragging himself to a sitting position and putting his face in his hands, letting out a quiet yawn before standing, whipping his index finger about in a circular motion and drawing the shields to said finger, the orbs all streaking to his fingertip and alighting above it, growing intensely more bright the more shields were absorbed into it, until the entire room was cloaked in an azure glow, shadows throwing themselves across the surfaces of the room into shapes which his mind amassed.

He glanced at the orb for a moment, contemplating it before flicking it in the direction of the wall, and the field tore across the room, disintegrating against the opposite wall in a wispy cloud of lavenders and turquoises as the power binding the shields fell away of his correspondence.

He strode to the door, clad in a black zipper-hoodie and similarly-shaded fingerless gloves, ripped faded blue jeans and a plain white T-shirt under the hoodie, quietly opening and closing the door behind him, stifling yet another yawn as he chose a direction to go in order to get to the Centre Hub, not really knowing where he was going.

After a long while, he finally made it to the Centre Hub, where he eyed two people already conversing in low tones. Not really finding interest in joining, instead satisfying himself with looking on, he leaned against the wall after entering.

Beckham "Beck" DesLaurie

Beckham sighed as he looked at his empty bedroom. He was sad, but happy, he was moving to Mt. Justice, and would be joining the Young Justice at the request of his grandmother and the dismay of his father. He picked up his last bag and walked out side, where his grandmother was leaning against her car. She had offered to drive him to the hall of justice so they could Zeta Tube to Mt. Justice. His grandmother had told him all about his new home, and promised him that he was going to love it. Beckham was surprised that when he told her about the young justice that she was happy. He had known previously about her involvement in both the young justice and in the Justice League, and he was even more surprised when she told him all about it.

"Ready to go?" his grandmother asked, at he put his second and last bag in the trunk.

"As ready as I'll ever be." Beckham answered, as he walked to the passenger side of the car.

The drive to the Hall of Justice was a quick one, Beckham had always lived a few blocks over from the worlds greatest tourist destination. Even now on a very cloudy and gross day, it was packed full of tourists. Making it hard to navigate through their careless walking. Beckham smirked when he heard his grandmother mutter something and all the people started to be forced out of the way of the car. His grandmother drove around back and they used the secret Justice League enterance.

~

Mt. Justice was nothing like Beckham was expecting. he was in shock of the size of it. His grandmother, gave him a big hug and said her goodbyes before walking back through the Zeta Tube. Beckham looked around and walked towards the area that was labeled as rooms. As he walked he noticed some of the rooms had names, pertaining to the hero that used to live in them. As he walked he scanned the rooms for his grandmothers old room. Which he spotted down the hall from him, it was especially noticable because of the large black door that stuck out from every other door. He smiled to him self. Leave it to Gram.

He walked through the door and set everything on the bed. he quickly flicked his wrist and watched as all of his clothes slowly put themselves away. As well as a few pictures setting themselves up on his desk, along side his laptop. He looked around and noticed a white piece of paper on the floor next to his door. He walked over and picked it up, flipping it over to see Meeting in 20 minutes, at the central hub. Must Attend scrawled in black ink on it. underneath it was signed by batman.

Beckham looked around his room and saw that all of his things were out away. So he quickly grabbed his wand from the bag and slipped his bracelet onto his wrist before walking out of the room and searching for the central hub, considering he had never bee there and he was unsure of where that was. As he walked he slipped his wand into his waist band and looked for any indication as to where the central hub was. Finding it a few moments later, where he spotted three guys standing around.

"Hi," He said walking into the room.

Taara paced around her new room, taking in the scenery. It was very dazing for her, never had she been living anywhere other than her home in the woods. She missed her mother, though both of them had agreed that this would be a good thing. That Taara would be able to help more than just her village, she could help the world. She unpacked her bags, placing several potted plants around the room and hanging several items she used for protection and focus.

Taara was nervous about meeting the people that she would be working with. She told herself that it wouldn't be that bad, but she was still anxious. She decided to meditate to calm her nerves. She kneeled down and lit a candle in front of her. Taara took deep breathes and told herself that everything would be alright. Though, she felt a presence walk up to her door, pause, then walk away. She got nervous again and looked at the door to see a note in front of it. She picked it up and read the message that had been written on it.

Taara decided it would be best to get there early, so she grabbed her coat and a talisman and exited her room. To be honest, she did not know where this central hub was, so after walking a ways, she asked for directions from a bystander. They pointed her in the right direction and she thanked them. When she arrived, Taara saw other people conversing with each other, but she recognized none of them. She did not approach them and stood by herself, waiting for the meeting to start. She was to scared to talk to any of these new people.

Hysan noted the growing presence of teenagers in the Hub, becoming more and more anxious as more and more people filed in through the doors. He'd decided to not attain much of a status here - to fly under the radar as much as he could, remaining as elusive as possible to avoid painting a target on his back like every other situation he'd found himself in; yet, as their number increased, his confidence of being able to uphold said silent decision exponentially decreased. He'd eventually talk to these people anyhow, but the larger the group, the more chance he would be singled out, and the more his nervousness shot through the roof.

His attention, however, snagged on a female, who seemed to be taking a similar position to those in the Hub as he was. Seeing her uncomfortable expression when faced with the others, Hysan felt a rare sensation of sympathy start to slowly course through him - he must've looked much the same way to an outside viewpoint.

He could relate quite easily to how the girl felt as well, he noticed; he had thrown out his consciousness, searching for emotive responses, and had found exactly what he was expecting - muted anxiety, same as himself.

After a moment of indecision, he slowly walked to where the girl stood, jamming his hands in his pockets as he shifted his weight from foot to foot, barely making eye contact. "Hey," he mumbled.

@Pink Gorilla

Theo and the mysterious figure were the first ones to arrive to the meeting. Before the other teammates arrived, Theo and this new "friend" of his conversed. They talked about their home lives and what a few hobbies. Theo finally learned this guy's name, Marcus. To be honest, Theo found Marcus pretty attactive. He had nice dark brown hair, styled similar to Theo's, he was muscular and he was pretty energetic, compared to Theo's mellowness. When the third teammate arrived, he seemed too shy to talk to Theo and Marcus. He kept himself at distance from the two.

"I'm gonna go say hello." ,Marcus stated.

He began to walk in the direction of the new member until Theo grabbrd his arm and shook his head.

"Trust me, if the kid doesn't want to talk, the kid doesn't want to talk." ,Theo told Marcus.

Time started to tick away and about 20 minutes later, the Cortex had about 15 other members in it.

Theo didn't really recognize any of the others, but Marcus kept clinging to Theo. Everywhere Theo went, Marcus was by his side. At first, Theo was annoyed, but he started to adapt to it and just let it be. The Cortex began to grow in noise, until the automated voice overspoke the whole crowd.

"Recognize, Batman 001. Recongize, Red Tornado 010. Recognize, Superman 002.".

The whole room became quiet and turned their heads to the direction of the 3 heroes. Theo was quite terrified to see the Batman in person.

Taara felt someone walk over to here so she turned to face them. She could feel that they had the same nervousness and anxiety that she did. The boy was wearing a zipper hoodie and jeans and was shifting on his feet. Taara didn't even need to use her abilities to notice how anxious he was. "Hello, my name is Taara. Who are you?" She asked him.

As she was conversing with him, she heard an automated voice announce that Batman, Red Tornado, and Superman had arrived. Taara turned to look at them in confusion. She honestly did not know who these people are and why everyone felt scared of them and in awe. She leaned towards Hysan. "Who are they?"

Caleb Kent

"Recognize Invincible, 13396." The robotic female voice said as Caleb exited the Zeta tube. He glanced down at the people already in the vicinity, continuing from behind the three supers. He waved to his great grandfather, Clark Kent, watching as the old man waved back. Caleb let out a short laugh before turning towardw where the corridor seemed to be, disappearing from the sight of his fellow teenagers as he raced towards his dorm. Skidding to a stop by his room, #008 to be exact, he'd take the room key out of his pocket, slipping it into the keyhole.

The young kryptonian hauled the door open, letting out a short laugh as he entered the room. The walls were obviously reinforced, probably because of his unstable powers. He'd found it more humoring than offensive as he walked in, tossing his duffel bag onto the pre-laid bed. Caleb continued down towards the front window, glancing down the mountain view as he looked down towards the beach, nodding his head please. "Neat..." He mumbled before turning back and out of the room.

He continued down the hall, turning back into the cortex to meet the three major heroes and wannabes. He sighed, making his way towards the front area, beplacing his hands into his pockets as he watched the first debriefing. He had some experience beign a superheromand hoped to use it continuing on, maybe impress the Superman himself along the way.

Beckham "Beck" DesLaurie

Beckham had been observing the scene. Kids were slowly showing up. And he was slowly getting more and more nervous. This little meeting had to be somewhat of a debrief. There had to be a reason that the Justice league was reforming as well as reinstituting the young justice. He was nervous to find out why and he was nervous to have to show his abilities. If that was what they were gonna be doing.

Beckham spun around when he heard the Zeta Tube announce that Superman, Batman, and Red Tornado had arrived. He also watched as another shot out from behind them. He stared at them in awe, his grandma had told him stories about batman and superman, they say they have doubtlessly saved the world. How they once early ended it. Their stories had been his bedtime stories. But surely these couldn't be the original men. Well maybe red tornado, but not superman and Batman. That would make them close to 90 something.

Beckham smirked when he heard the girl ask the other who the three men who entered were. He stepped up next to her and whispered back, "Superman, Batman, and Red Tornado, three of the founding members of the Justice League."

Marcus arrived to Mount Justice at 4 in the morning. He had recently been transferred from Mercury Labs to the New Young Justice team. Superman thought that he would have been of use when it came to most missions. Marcus felt most humble and honored to be hand chosen from THE Superman. He arrived to Mount Justice through a mobile transport. The truck he was being transported in was a SWAT van and he had passenger seat. The van began to go offroad, causing Marcus to become curious, until they reached the base of the Mountain, behind the beach. The driver had pulled a phone from the console and dialed 811253#44 into the phone.

About a minute later, the patch of grass in front of them began to lower and the van slowly pulled up and went down into the garage. When the van stopped, Marcus leaped out and began observing the hi-tech vehicles. The one that intrigued him the most was a motorcycle painted in a maroon color. He crossed his leg over the motorcycle and put his hands on his throttle. Making vroom vroom noises with his mouth, the people who escorted him there began to giigle at the sight of him pretending to drive a motorcycle. His cheeks burned bright red and he hopped off.

"Here's your keys and luggage slugger." ,one of the policemen said.

Marcus grabbed his backpack that had a few clothes and his valuable watch and took his keys. The room number was #010.

Marcus reached his room and was in surprise to see such an amazing view of the beach and town below. He finished unpacking and left his room, making sure to lock it. After pulling his room key out of the keyhole, he noticed a holographic message come across his door. It said that he must attend a meeting in the cortex. Marcus began walking to the cortex when a sudden lightning trail zoomed past him. He couldn't tell what it was, but he knew that it was a speedster for sure, and most likely another team member. Reaching the Cortex, the speedster had just arrived at the same time as Marcus. Marcus wanted to get a better observation of the speedster, since he was facing the opposite direction of him, but he was spotted. The speedster saw him and the only option was to reveal himself.

"Hello." ,Marcus greeted the boy, coming out of the shadows.

"Hey?" ,the stranger replied.

They conversed for about 5 minutes, until Marcus saw another person emerge from the hallway. The new figure was clearly trying to avoid the two and that's when Marcus decided to go introduce himself. But, he was stopped by Theo, the speedster, because the new figure obviously wanted his privacy. The cortex began to fill up with more and more heroes until the Zeta tube voice spoke over everyone. The voice announced that Red Tornado, Superman, and Batman had arrived. Marcus grabbed Theo's hand and clenched it. Theo looked at Marcus and clenched his hand back. Right behind the 3 heroes was a younger boy. He smiled and waved to Superman, and Superman waved back. Marcus wondered if the two had any relation, so he followed the boy to his room, leaving Theo and the others behind to listen to the presentation.

Theo was petrified and his heart was pounding the hardest it's ever been. At that moment, Marcus, his new friend, grabbed his hand and it helped calm Theo's nerves. He felt more at bay and could think much clearly. The automated voice started again and said, " Recognize, Invincible 13396.". Theo had to look over a few people just to see the new kid behind the 3 heroes. Theo was curious to who he is and why he came only a few seconds after the 3 heroes, but he didn't worry about it too much. Theo was more concerned about the threat of Batman possibly disapproving of Theo. Now of course, Theo knew that this wasn't Bruce Wayne, the original Batman, nor was it Damian Wayne, Bruce's son, but he was still nervous as to what this Batman will think of Theo.

"Welcome." ,Batman said in his booming voice, "as you know,".

Theo was interrupted from listening to Batman because Marcus had detached his hand from Theo's. Marcus started following the late comer and Theo wanted to know why. But, he didn't want to leave a bad first impression on the 3 heroes, especially Batman. So he decided to stay and listen more to Batman.

"A new drug has begun to appear on the streets of every major city. These include Star City, Central City, Metropolis, Gotham City, and Bludhaven." ,Batman told the group.

"Central City? That's where great grandpa used to operate." ,Theo thought, "maybe if I ask, I can go there for my first mission.".

Batman went on to talk about the drug and what it could do to the user. Theo grew overly confident and knew he had more then the capability to take on this new threat. Superman finished the briefing with an introduction to the authority and the leader of the Young Justice team.

"Red Tornado here will be the overseer of the Young Justice team. He will help provide mission details and training sessions. Batman will be providing your team with equipment and, when the time is right, new suit functions. Lastly, I will be in commander of this team. Anything I say is final. Now, let's introduce the team." ,Superman said with enthusiasm.

The whole crowd looked at everyone, from left to right their faces burning with nervousness and shyness.

"You." ,Superman said, pointing to Theo, "Come introduce yourself.".

Theo zipped his way to the platform, his trail color behind him, to where the 3 heroes stood and the crowd looked at Theo in confusion.

"Hey everyone, I'm Theo Creed Allen. I'm the great grandson of Barry Allen, and the grandson of Bart Allen, or more commonly known as the Flash. Obviously I've inherited their speed abilities." ,Theo spoke with confidence.

"Barry Allen? Well, I'd like you to know that Barry Allen was a good friend of mine, and a good man. I hope you can surpass his achievements, and maybe one day become the Flash yourself. Anyways, why don't you give us your hero name." ,Superman commanded.

"It's Sprint. My alias is, Sprint. My father gave it to me based on my great grandpa, Barry." ,Theo said.

Through the crowd, Theo could see Marcus returning from the hallway and zoomed to him, his lightning trail trailing behind him, and grabbed Marcus, bringing him up to the platform where Theo originally stood.

"This is my friend Marcus, he's up next." ,Theo told the spectators.

"Okay, go ahead Marcus. Give us a brief description of who you are." ,Superman demanded.

"W-Well, my name is Marcus Queen, and I uh, I uh, am a descendant of Oliver Queen." ,Batman glanced at Marcus and narrowed his eyes.

"And your hero name?" ,Superman asked.

"My hero name is Smoke." ,Marcus replied.

"Taara," he slowly said, tasting the name on his tongue. "That's a new one. ...I'm Hysan. Hysan Dax," he introduced himself, giving a rare smile. "Salutations. ...Where is it that you hail from, now? I'm having a hard time taking an educated guess. I'm from Manchester, England... So if I say something that makes absolutely no sense whatsoever, then don't hesitate to ask me to try and translate."

After finishing his spiel, he hesitantly blinked at himself, wondering where that came from. Usually introductions didn't come as easily as it just had, and he immediately began to wonder if the girl possessed emotive-manipulative abilities, as he did. Thinking this, he immediately slammed down his internal walls, scouring his actions for outward influence but not finding any.

It was then that he peeked out of his shell somewhat. If he hadn't been influenced in any which way, shape, or form, and since he most definitely wasn't intoxicated, it was of high probability that it could be traced to how comfortable he felt around this new female - which was especially accentuated by her nervous askance of the identities of the quite well-known superheroes who entered - Hysan took a moment to glance at each of them, filing away information on each of them that he could gather just from their current emotional state to use later. It was uncanny, how much you could learn about a person from a few moments of watching their actions, feeling their feelings. It was also enlightening, in the sense that most of the human population had no idea what they were missing in day-to-day interaction.

His thought process was interrupted by a new voice, in which drew his attention from the heroes over Taara to the new male who'd joined their group without so much of a warning. The slight shock of it caused him to instantly clam up, crossing his arms instinctively before he even knew it and drifting away, the girl's question having been answered anyhow. He'd focus on finding out more about her later, when there weren't people he didn't know randomly barging into things.

He took these few moments to take a sweeping glance over the new arrivals and those he'd already seen, clenching his jaw as he immediately - unconsciously - began to intake the psyches of each and every person in that room, as if he'd shot out a signal that pinged between each of them, like satellite dishes, in which would return to him every few moments, the satellite itself, updating within the space of a second the longer he had them in his view. However, it took but a moment to adjust, bringing the information to the back of his mind whence it came, as he'd had a lot of practice back when he had the normal life of a teenager, as he'd gone to shopping centres and the cinema quite often with his friends.

The memories caused a worm of resentment to gnaw away at his stomach, and he quickly reigned his consciousness in, careful not to let his feelings spill over into anyone else's, though he continued to watch the group of teenagers,

He especially took notice of the boys in the front, who he'd seen conversing earlier, holding hands. The gesture took him by a small measure of surprise. That was fast. Though, admittedly, he didn't blame either of the two - they were both quite cute, if he did say so himself. He didn't feel any jealousy, though - his own boyfriend was back home, probably unaware that he'd been transferred to the Young Justice program.

Hysan sighed, thinking of him. He'd just have to contact him later, he supposed.

@Pink Gorilla @KingHalliwell @KinkySnakeSkinz

Taara looked back at the man who spoke to her. She then looked back at the three heroes. She never really knew much about the world, but she had better start learning if she wanted to be part of it. Batman began to speak to the whole group and relay information at them. Taara tried listening intently to them, however, her mind kept drifting to how everyone else was feeling. Most people were as nervous as she was and that gave her much relief.

Something odd she noticed is that she could no longer sense what Hysan was feeling. She pushed her curiosity off and began listening again. At this point Superman was speaking and he brought someone on stage to be introduced. Taara sensed Theo's confidence, but couldn't determine if it was pride or arrogance, or both. He zipped by and brought another man on stage with him. He stuttered over his words, but seemed to pull it together and say his hero name. "These people ought to be interesting." She said quietly to herself.

Caleb Kent

Caleb had had the chance to converse with Marcus before he was pulled onto the stage by what seemed to be the Flash's great grandson. Theo's codename was Sprint which Caleb thought was both ironic as well as catchy, it could definately spark a trend if he went pro with that name. He let out out a short laugh as Marcus stuttered, the boy truly was shy. In future, Caleb knew Marcus could become a feared hero but for now, he was making himself the laughing stock.

Caleb pulled his hoodie closer to his neck as he marched over to Taara who seemed to be staring closely at the big three heroes. He walked up beside her, pulling his hoodie onto his head as he looked left towards her, a smirk painting his face as he spoke. "Unbelievable, eh? Or are you just a fan?" He asked, his words spoken in a nonchalant manner. "I'm Caleb by the way, maybe I should've said that first, right?"

@Pink Gorilla

Warren Batson

Warren looked down at his phone for a moment, staring at the list of calls his girlfriend Wanda had never picked. The young champion felt a push by his side as he stood in the crowd of Young Justice members, nearly tripping as he did so. He signed, going to the home screen of his phone, depicting an image of his two year old son, Tanner, as the background before switching it off. He'd slipped the phone into his pocket, glancing around the cortex for a moment.

He caught sight of Hysan, standing by himself as he walked up towards the loner (saying this in the kindest way possible). He placed a hand on his shoulder, staring up at Batman, Red Tornado and Superman. "You seemed in need of a friend. Lucky day sir, you got an upgrade." He let out a laugh, not sure if he was being funny or prideful as he spoke. "I'm Warren by the way, pleasure's all yours." He added, glancing at Hysan then back at the three heroes.

Hysan flinched as he felt the unwanted metaphysical charge of physical contact shoot through him, and he immediately found himself in the mind of the other male, being forced to peruse memories and the emotions tied to them. It was an unwelcome sensation, and one it took huge amounts of energy to break; he heaved with as much mental strength he had, and eventually broke away, but not before inadvertently taking a copy of a small portion of the boy's memories with him.

He shook his head, slowly rubbing his face before turning to look at the boy, a distraught expression on his face. "Warren Batson," he murmured. "High school student, in the eleventh grade. And you're already a father."

He blinked slowly; then elabourated, his tough persona dissipating as he searched for the right words. "I'm sorry," he mumbled, pointing at his head. "I'm a pathokinetic. I know things I shouldn't." He sighed, running a hand through his hair, tripping over his own words. "I know what you're thinking. That I'm a loner, or something to that effect. Personally, I don't particularly blame you - that's what everyone thinks." He looked to the side. "I choose to be this way, y'know. People... I'm not a people-person, people have done absolutely... horrible things to me," he muttered, awkwardly proceeding in a speedy fashion, "so I just have extreme trust issues. Pardon."

He, on an impulse, shied away from the male's touch, brushing the male's hand off of his shoulder. "That's how I knew what I did," he murmured, pointing to Warren's hand. "Just for future reference, if you're the private kind of guy."

He silently wondered - sometimes, it was a two-way connection between him and another person; sometimes, it was one-way, with him usually on the receiving end. But it depended on the person, and if Warren was one of the lucky few who was able to maintain some sort of control over his mentality...

Hysan ducked his head, clearing his throat, trying to shove that notion aside. "Hysan," he introduced himself quietly. "Hysan Dax. Pleased to meet you, although I really doubt for you it's the same."

Warren Batson

Warren's eyebrows arched together as his hand was shrugged off, watching as Hysan went on about being a pathokinetic. He held his own head, feeling like his privacy was intruded, a way he'd never felt before. The teenager just nodded, going along with what Hysan said though still hung onto what Hysan said. He'd uttered words only close family and himself should've known, the feeling was one he would never forget.

"I-It's alright dude, my powers aren't all that polished either." He admitted, slowly pulling himself together. "I guess Hysan is almost as good as Warren, could use my help if you ever wanted to change it." He joked before his smile vanished. "But if you read my mind... ever again... I... just don't, okay amigo?" He asked, not waiting for an answer. "And don't go spreading word about my son, would be very much appreciated." He added, this was one of the few times he'd ever felt uncomfortable with a stranger-- besides the one time he bought an XL condom-- a story for later.

"So, superhero, eh? How long've you been in the business?" He asked, glancing back up at the big three heroes then down to Hysan. "I haven't been in it for long, either." He added, slipping his hands back into his pockets as he continued to speak. "You know, I never thought I'd ever be standing here until less than a year ago. Never knew I even had powers... that's how inexperienced I am." He confided, letting out a short laugh. "I'm not gonna get all sentimental about it... you just seem like someone I can trust." He explained. "'Kinda have to since you've read my memories." He pranked again.

Hysan paused for a moment after the male's words; then sighed. "I'm sorry," he complained. "I didn't mean to, it's not something I exactly control, it just... happens, alright? I wouldn't have done it if I had any say in it, it kinda just..." He raised a hand to his head, tapping it before gesturing at Warren. "...It activates whenever, but it's always on."

As he spoke, he picked up waves of uncertainty and apprehension coming from Warren, and he inwardly berated himself. Technically he wasn't reading the boy's mind, but he was sure that even his emotive reception wouldn't be welcome. He again tried to separate himself, but couldn't quite turn it off this time, though tactfully chose not to comment on it.

"My lips are sealed," he promised, crossing his arms. "You have my word."

"Since I was a freshman in high school, so that was... What, four years ago." He estimated. "But in those four years I've not made much progress anyhow, not with that whole deal," he sarcastically muttered, referring to his pathokinesis. He continued to listen, though, as the male shared a bit of his past with him, and he felt a glow of appreciation. "Thanks. For trusting me. I likely don't deserve it so far," he sighed, resignedly shrugging a shoulder as the male took a quick jibe at Hysan, though the boy could tell it was forced. "You're never going to let that go, are you," he wryly said, raising an eyebrow.
