He used to be part of the Agriculture Division, before it was merged, but a dragon swept in and burned down his home with his parents inside when he was very small. Not knowing the basics of farming or any skills, he joined the Navy.

He's pretty good at obeying orders and very kind, but he always gets hung up over women. The Navy doesn't allow sexual relationships of any kind (dating, one-night-stands, or marriage), yet he has always yearned to find a nice woman to settle down with in secret.

Domita was born within a travelling group of the Phoenix kind. So, from a young age she had traveled, learned to fight and trick. Although most of that was against the species honor and unspoken laws, it was something that nearly everyone learnt. After all, being a giant fire encased bird like creature had its benefits.


Like most travelling groups, they eventually decided on somewhere to settle and that was Carthan. The group quickly set the course towards the island before they began their trip to a place they wished to call their home. However, when they were there they disguised themselves as humans in hopes to keep their species a secret. Although that did not last long.


Eventually, a more eccentric person to their family had accidentally taken upon the large and fiery form that cost them the secrecy they wished to keep. Feeling horrible for their secrecy the clan quickly tried to make it up silently to the people for their mistakes. While their plans were to avoid joining society they quickly began to try and integrate their specialists into groups that they would be beneficial to the Carthan people.


This was about the time that Domita looked twelve or so and it was also at this point that she was told to change her name to suit the lands. From a name native to her family she became 'Domita'. Her family translated their name to suit as well, resulting in the family name of 'Servius'.


By the time that Domita was considered a 'specialist' within her clan in the field of Medicine she had already joined in helping to save people. She was quite happy to assist people to the best of her ability. Literally. There are moments the girl has used some abilities linked to her species to heal some people. Although she would never admit that.


Character's Personality:


Domita is quite a neutral stated person. She is neither negative nor positively inclined in her actions. Depending on her situation her reactions and actions will differ. However, she can be incredibly stubborn and will refuse to give up or cease something she has set herself to complete or finish. If she says so, she will work till the bone to make sure that she is not becoming the thing she hates the most. A liar.


She is rarely spoken which makes her appear quite rude but it is mostly since she is often confused on how to reply to people. Antisocial. Normally, Domita is to focused on her work to chat anyway which results in people seeing her as either cold or without manners. However, despite this belief she is well mannered and warm hearted as she will risk as much as possible to help anyone if it is within her power.


Extra:


-Ra is pronounced 'Rah'. She took this off a mortal religion's God.


-She occasionally uses Phoenix tears or feathers to help in healing others but even then


she does it in secret due to her clans distaste in revealing the ability.


-Her phoenix form is white due to her being Albino.


-She does not enjoy harsh sunlight.


-Often mistaken as mortal due to her lack of phoenix features within

Mirago is a beast that physically appears human but instead of a heart, it has a living core. In a way, this living core is like a parasite that helps instead of hurts. The core is like a mass of spherical piece of white and purple flesh with some tentacles moving freely. The core uses energy to create a catalyst or merge with another body. The core also uses energy to reattach limbs or regenerate body parts that were lost or destroyed. The only drawback with regenerating that the core uses more energy, and risks exhaustion. Like any living thing, a Mirago has to eat and drink to attain energy, or they can meditate for short periods of time to gain energy as well. When I say exhaust the core, I don't mean you have to tire a Mirago out in battle per se. But what I mean is this: The core can only use so much energy. If it's using more than it's making, it can't keep up, right? It will be then exhausted, and the catalyst and core can be destroyed. The Mirago are known for odd-looking tattoos around their body, but there is much variety in the tattoo's appearance, and it is entirely too easy to mix a Mirago with an actual human.


Seeking to expand his horizons, Blake leave his home island and sails to Carthan to make a living.


Character's Personality:


Blake is a relaxed and reserved guy. He hardly loses his temper and is usually smiling, even in serious situations. And even if he was angry, his usual calm hides his temper in an elegant way. His self-pride is so great that he unleashes his might in a fight bit by bit as it allows him to thoroughly enjoy a fight. In battle and casual conversations alike, Blake delights in using his wit and sarcasm to throw jibes at enemies and even occasionally, his allies.

Concerning Imira, she only assumes if she feels that Blake is being threated or if she is threatened. When in a sound setting, she is much smaller.

Characters Backstory: Karen is from a far of country that very few people have heard of. The land mostly consisted of vast wilderness where wild creatures ran free. Karen, being a kitsune, loved the animals of the wild. They where her family and they took care of each other.


Then one day a rogue dragon came and laid waste to the land. Killing everything in its wake.


Karen barely got away.


She boarded a ship heading to a place she never heard of.

Character's Back Story:


The Children of Elskiba were born as a race thousand of years ago (For a race, that's really young) from Elskiba himself, a great and powerful creature rivaled by few. Elskiba's control over the world was limitless, but he grew lonely. He watched the young races of the world flourish across the seas, and wished for companions for himself. With that yearning, he created his Children.

Elskiba himself can choose any form he wants, but is often colorful, and almost always covered in feathers and/or fur, and has prominent horns adorning his skull. His current form is a highly colorful dragon, based slightly on the dragons of the world. His Children, however, look much like humans, outwardly very similar. All of his Children, though, have a pair of horns, and there is a staggering amount of diversity in the horn types in both size, shape, and color.


Outwardly, Children of Elskiba are similar to humans, but inside it is a different story. Nearly all of a Child's organs have redundant systems and can continue functioning even if pierced. Their bones are tougher, they possess faster healing qualities, can bounce back from wounds that would kill an ordinary man, and are capable of higher extremes of strength and agility. However, nearly all Children live on one island, where Elskiba himself resides, and know little of the outside world. They can be extremely naive, and dozens have been killed by dragons that they approached, thinking that all creatures are kind like their creator.


Most Children are content to reside on their island and not bother with the outside world, but not Tansy. With a more adventurous spirit, she petitioned Elskiba with leaving his land and seeing the outside world. Worried about his Child's safety, but knowing that seeing new things would be good for her, he agreed and gave her his blessing, and a companion in the shape of a Snarbolax (Another of his creations) to protect her.


It is now nearly three decades since Tansy first left, and six years since she settled down in Carthan. Setting up a small but bustling tavern near the coast, she does her best to find out as much as she can about this new world.


Character's Personality:


Tansy has an innate interest to examine and try new things, often getting herself hurt in the process due to her naivety. She is naturally a kind person, giving people who need it a meal on the house, and defending those who are picked on.


Extra:


Fossor can fling spikes from his tail, which he can regrow. He's a crazy fast digger. Did you know fossor means "digger" in latin?

Jambiya: A dagger with a curved 7-inch blade. The silver covering the dagger's handle and its sheath came from the family's reserves of precious gems and silver lost in their abrupt departure from their home island of Kaesh, a reflection of its original intent. Once a mere offering in Lena's dowry, the dagger now serves as a means of self-defense due to the lack of suitable prospects and the dangers on the island.

Lena was born under her real name Minnah Shiresh to her mother Fatimah Shiresh and her father Abdi Shiresh. Her mother and father were the joint rulers of the island Ka'esh, a distant island whose defining feature is a large freshwater oasis in its center. This made the island a target for many generations before Lena was born, and made the island a target for the many invasions made in Lena's childhood. Most of these invasions were luckily by pirates that the small kingdom could combat with ease. In the meantime, Lena was sheltered with her two younger sisters and her tutors, who taught them the many tongues of the neighboring islands and the tongue of Carthan, the most powerful of all islands. From her tutor she also learned of the dragons, the corals that formed around her island, and the many crops that graced her island's soil.


As she grew up, tensions built among Ka'esh and the surrounding islands, which were relatively barren, desert islands. Ethnic tensions soon followed, and clashes along the seas began. The surrounding islands began to unite against Ka'esh. The only way out to the king at this point began to make itself clear. Another large island, Qasmira was willing to ally with the king if and only if they married off Lena to their eldest son, thus making him heir to both Ka'esh and Qasmira. The Shiresh family promised their daughter's hand in marriage. They quickly shipped Lena off to Qasmira to meet this key suitor while they scrambled together silver and other valuables to constitute a dowry.


Lena met the events with hesitance, but a necessary cooperation. She managed to overlook the fact that the prince was four years her junior, and grew fond of him, though she far from loved him. The wedding and subsequent marriage was met with cautious optimism. However, others conspired against them. While on a voyage with the prince of Qasmira to Ka'esh, bandits raided their ship. Lena was on a raft studying the coral reefs with her tutor, but her prince was on the ship. After they drifted to the shores of Ka'esh, the news soon spread. That his death came only a week after his wedding to Lena raised great suspicion among the Qasmira royalty and the other kingdoms of the desert islands. Rumors about the nature of the raid grew out of control, and before long the desert islands and Qasmira itself sought Abdi Shiresh's head.


In a last minute scramble to save his family, the King sent his daughters and wife on a secret ship as far as his silver and gem stash could pay for them to go. It was said that he stayed behind and did not fall until he had fought with the few who still stood loyal to him against the throngs of invaders. Several months of sailing the seas led Lena and her family to Carthan. With what little silver they had left, her mother purchased a small farm. They have been living on the farm for about six months now, with changed names to hide their royal history. Because Lena is the most adept at using the Carthan tongue, she is normally responsible for going outside of the farm to purchase goods and sell crops.


Tl;dr version of background story (I love writing background stories too much, sorry!): Lena is a princess from a distant island with two younger sisters and a mother, who had to flee from her distant home island of Ka'esh because of war. The war occurred due to the agitation of long-standing tensions caused by the death of Lena's royal husband less than a week into their marriage on a trip to her home island. To make sure people couldn't hunt them down, the family all assumed new names. Her father died in said war. Out of her family she speaks in the Carthan tongue the best, so she's responsible for selling crops and purchasing goods for the family.


Character's Personality:


Lena is somewhat guarded. She only raises her voice when trying to sell crops or some other necessary action. While she does like socializing with the locals of Carthan, she only likes doing so in a very limited fashion. She fears connecting with people on a deeper level because she feels that gives them the chance to hurt her. However, once one gains her trust, she is fiercely loyal even to a fault.

Character's Back Story:


Hakan was born on the island; he had a normal childhood in terms of living in a place full of mystery. His family has a rare but almost unique link with the wolfs, at the term that when a person from my family is born a wolf will be born too and both human and wolf will be together as long as they live.


Hakan was born with a unique power that make him have senses like a wolf it was called ¨Hunter soul¨, when his eyes become white he can run faster, smell more, hear almost everything that is happening on his surroundings and aim with more precision but everything comes with a cost, the more time he uses the powers he losses strength and as the muscles are over working that when he stops his body becomes numb he faints for a moment and when he gets up he’s really tired and can’t do that much. But after he takes some rest he recovers and is back to normal, he doesn’t use his powers that often, only in crucial moments.


His family had a butcher shop and he was only 10 when he started hunting animals such as squirrels or deer’s, his family had cows and stuff like that but he had the hunter soul so he was the one in charge of the hunting, when he turned 14 his family left to another place to the island and left Hakan alone with his wolf stealth, he doesn’t know what happened to them but he hopes nothing bad happened.


Right now Hakan is 15 years old and his a lonely person, the only times he speaks to people is when his working at the shop or he goes to buy something he needs but he knows everybody looks down on him because humans don’t have much power as the other people there the weakest of almost all races but you get used to it.


Character's Personality:


Hakan is a quite person he looks very serious and quite but when you get to know him he is a kind person but has a lot of awkward moments when being in public, he doesn’t know how to speak to women’s he always stutters while talking to one. He is happy person but doesn’t show it that much he’s usually has a none expression face but he will never make fun of nobody and he doesn’t look down on anyone.

  • Blake is an odd, human-like creature called a Mirago. An organism called a "living core" resides inside of a Mirago and absorbs energy from actions that the body takes, such as eating and meditating. Mirago can regrow and re-attach injured limbs, but that takes an incredible deal of energy. Tiring out a Mirago's core is the key to defeating it in battle.
    
  • Getting pretty bored of the usual limb-regrowing, symbiotic lifestyle, Blake set out from his island and headed to Carthan. Blake is being trained under a blacksmith, preferring armor over that of weapons, and works in the mines while he's not actively practicing as an apprentice.
    
  • Blake has a size-altering, pet wyvern ... that doesn't look like a wyvern.

  • Karen is from an island far from Carthan that very few people have heard of. The island is mostly uninhabited, ignoring the dense population of wild animals. This was Karen's ideal home, where she loved the animals and they took care of each other.When the dragon population began to increase on the planet, one came and laid waste to Karen's island. The kitsune barely got away by boarding a ship and heading to a place she never heard of.
    
  • Karen is like a playful child, always exploring something new to her. She isn't fully used to humans and approaches them cautiously.
    
  • She may be under-going some sort of job change. Mid-life crisis and what-not, hmm? Seems she's taken a liking to Tansy's inn.

She was given Elskiba's blessing and a pet, in order to keep her safe. Known as Fossor, this pet is of a strange species called Snarbolax that was also created by Elskiba.
    
  • Tansy has been living in Carthan for 6 years and has become well-established in the tavern that she now runs, close enough to the coast for frequent visits by those in the Navy and those immigrating/visiting.

Character's Race: Ironborn, the Ironborn are a peculiar race of humanoids, known for their incredible strength and skin like scales of the metal for which they are named. Ironborn are a rarity, their race having been Nearly wiped out by their violent tendencies and inner strife. Those that remain are outcasts of society, hunted by some for sport, others for the scaled hides, which are quite valuable.


Character's Division: As Hrothgar and his crew aren't members of the island state of Carthan they don't fit in any Carthan division

Hrothgar commonly carries three weapons, two revolving shotguns, the second one being a backup as they have a habit of jamming between rounds, and his melee weapon, a Hand axe he calls Eirik's Vengeance

Character's Back Story:


Hrothgar wasn't always the ruthless Warrior he has become known for. Back during his early years, when he was about 25, he lived with his brother, Eirik. The two brothers guarded a small coastal town on an island not far from Carthan. Then came the day that haunts Hrothgar still. Hrothgar's island was attacked by a band of pirates that were dressed as Carthan soldiers, hoping to instigate the smaller nation into declaring a war with Carthan. In the chaos of war, the pirates would be able to plunder a less-guarded Carthan.


When Hrothgar awoke, the village was leveled, the ruined buildings of his adopted home burning or smoldering. He swore vengeance that day, and took the name Stormfist, as he hoped to bring a storm of vengeance crashing down on the people of Carthan. He soon learned that, despite their success in the raid, Hrothgar's country was assured that Carthan had nothing to do with the attack and there was no retaliation.Hrothgar grew to distrust his own nation, believing firmly that it was Carthan that attacked his home and murdered his brother, and left the kingdom, knowing they could not help him in his quest for revenge.


Taking mercenary jobs he built up the funds he needed, and gathered warriors, all whom had some reason or other to hate Carthan. When he was ready, he and his men attacked a Carthan Warship on a mission far from home. The butchered every single member of the crew, but were careful to keep the ship undamaged. Naming the ship The Oncoming Storm he and his crew set sail for the isle of Carthan, attacking that nations ships whenever able.


Character's Personality: Haunted by the death of his brother and his failure to protect his home, Hrothgar is all but consumed by his desire for Vengeance. Quick to anger, he often settles disagreements with his weapons rather than reasoned discussion. Amongst his men he is a respected leader and tactician, and he is only ever truly happy when they are sailing away from the burning wreckage of a Carthan ship, regardless of it being merchant or naval.

Not an issue! I should've posted it in here, but just never thought to. But yes, the thread is open for posting! 
Here's a new character that is the main character from my novel. I wasn't planning on including him, but I guess it wouldn't make sense not to. Anybody that is a common resident of Carthan and is familiar with the society will know him, as he is the most decorated and publicly-appearing officer in the entire Navy.

Character's Back Story:


Tatius is the most successful commander in the entire fleet. His victories have been extremely risque, however, which is why he hasn't been promoted to a higher position, like Fleet Admiral. Almost everyone on Carthan is familiar with him, however. He makes many public appearances and is well-liked by the public in general.


Super Spoilers. Don't read if spoilers hurt your brains:


Tatius is secretly Servius' father, which is why they look so similar. Neither of them know it, however. Tatius took a mate in secret who took on his child, Servius. She never told him, however, as she knew that he would be in immense trouble. She died shortly after giving birth and Servius was adopted by the Vitruvius family.


Character's Personality:


He's quite full of himself, but for good reason. He's good at what he does, possibly the best in the fleet. Despite his arrogance, he's also very kind towards others. He's just a bit prideful.
