Dracowolf

A Slightly Disgruntled Raptor
Several years ago the Digital World opened itself to everyone. No longer only known to few, it seemed each day more and more people had invited until everyone did. At first, only a few accepted the invites but as more was learned cities were built, safe zones so humans who didn't want to run into dangerous Digimon could be safe but experience the Digital World. These safe zones were guarded by powerful Digimon at each entrance and exit and overseen by powerful guardians. Once the cities were built, some chose to not leave, making a life there. These people got themselves a Digiegg and thus a partner in case they wanted to venture outside the safe zone. Everything seemed to work out, attacks on humans were rare, the cities were safe.

Of course when power is involved, nothing stays safe. Seeing the Digital World as code, several hackers tried to mess with it, others tried to change their Digimon but ultimately infected them with viruses. Due to this, cities had to increase protection. Rather than just Digimon guards they needed humans who could travel back and forth between the digital and human world. Police forces, bounty hunters, various names were used for these people. Things settled down after a while. Once there was protection, it was rare for anyone to try much more than to steal some bits.

Things seemed fine. Visitors came to the Digital World for a weekend, others lived there full time. Eventually the real world's governments took issue with the Cyber Police forces the Digital World had, coming into their world to track down criminals, but bounty hunters still would. Now and then Digimon would try to crossover to the human world but they would go nuts unable to make the jump properly and becoming destructive monsters that destroyed buildings and chased people. It was quickly figured out that the only safe way to carry Digimon to the real world was to use a Digivice, groups took their partners in the Digivice and brought them over to fight those that got loose then returned home to the Digital World. Threats to the real world decreased, threats to the digital world seemed gone.

Then one of the cities went dark. No communication in or out.

Worried for what caused it and afraid that it may spread a word went out to various Digivices asking for the owners to come to the main city, Cybertropolis and build a team. A new agency made up of many jobs and people in order to solve problems and figure out what happened to the now missing city.

General Rules
  • Villains will be designed to be threats, major villains will take more than one person to defeat.
  • Don't be a jerk
  • The world is designed to be vague so everyone can fill it in, though there is an overarching plot. Feel free to leave mini plot ideas in the OOC chat or sent to Dracowolf via PM
  • Right now I don't have a character limit, but make sure you can handle the characters you add. If this is abused the rule will change
  • Talk to Dracowolf first if you want to RP a Digimon without a tamer.
  • No good mode, no powerplay
  • Logic wins in the end a Mega level Digimon will crush a rookie without a sweat. If you're a trained fighter s novice is not a threat type stuff.

Digimon Rules
  • More than one person can have the same Rookie, but the second person to pick that rookie must provide a nickname for their Rookie. The digital lines must be different, It can share 2/4 of the line. IE: Two people may have an Agumon, one might use the original Greymon line, the other may use the Geo line. Or one uses the Greymon line the other goes with Agumon->Aidramon->Metal Greymon ->Gaioumon
  • To figure out what Digimon lines will work for evolution, I will be accepting anything on Wikimon as a line, within reason. You’re not going to be able to make Holy Beasts. But you will find digital lines that usually can’t be used IE: Wolfmon, or the Armored Digimon
  • Original Digimon will be accepted on a case by case basis. Mainly because I tend to find recolors as warming signs that someone is going to pull something overpowered.
  • While Royal Knights can be used as leaders of the Digital World, you can still use them for evolutions. These will be short bursts as they are considered extremely powerful.

Side facts:
  • Often those who stay in the Digital World refer to visitors as tourists and not always in good ways. This is often due to their partners getting unwanted attention.
  • Visitors tend to judge the ones who stay in as well, thinking they prefer time with monsters than their own kind.
  • Cities are run by zodiac Digimon and Royal Knights with a few humans helping to provide counsel. Towns and villages tend to just have a mega or an ultimate as their leader, some are run by humans.
  • Cities are kept vague, there are more than those listed here, this is so anyone can make a city or town that is set up differently. So, towns that are less clean and darker in nature are allowed, or towns used as tourists traps (Themed Digital Parks).
  • Digimon can only go to the human world when protected by a Digivice otherwise the trip causes them to lose control, often becoming infected.

You can have 2 Digital Partners if you have a reason to have a second, if you have 2 they will be rookies and will return to rookies. You can choose to only have 1 partner and have them at champion level most of the time but again, there should be a reason.
Example: Pathfinders who take tourists around may have a champion to protect and from being used to running into viruses or threats.

Digital World Jobs
Note: These are examples, you can add jobs to fit your character, or not have a job. These are just the most likely who were summoned.

Digital Police: They go by various names depending on where they are located. They help the Digimon enforce the law of the cities and were brought in since they can chase down criminals outside the Digital World. Doing so is becoming frowned upon, but they tend to get their target back to the Digital World as soon as possible. Some refuse now to head to human world to track criminals.

Bounty Hunters: When the police won't cross over to track down threats, bounty hunters are called in. They take other jobs as well, as long as the pay is good.

Scientists: Trying to understand the various types of Digimon and Digital evolution as well as the impact the human world has on the Digital. The scientists tend to not be fighters but are observant.

Pathfinders: Guides for visitors that safely get them from one city to another and to various sights. They act as security for visitors.

Reformed Hackers/White Hats: Understand how to hack but don't try to hurt anyone instead fixing the mistakes if others, restoring code and recognizing what hackers are doing to stop them.

Diplomats: Usually work with the city leaders to keep both human and Digimon interests aligned.

Explorers: Attempt to chart the Digital World for other humans.

Detectives: Generally have a little understanding of everything but no experts. They work on various cases brought to them by others in including the police. They investigate in both the human world and digital.

DIGITAL CITIES AND LOCATIONS
You can add locations as you want and they’ll be added to the list - And Draco will add more as ideas pop up.

Cybertropolis
Leaders
: Huanglongmon and Omnimon
The first major city and the only one to have a Holy Beast and a Royal Knight in charge. The city is massive, containing various shops and areas, a popular tourist destination. The police force here is the largest compared to any other city after all with so many humans and digimon in one place, it has to be to keep things in line. The entrances are heavily guarded but the gates remain open at all times, the guards just look for trouble makers before they enter the city. There’s also a team of guards at the main portal entrance from the human world, just in case someone tries something.

Lost City
Leader: Cyberdramon
with Ravmon
Once known by another name, most just call it the Lost City. Recently the city went dark, no communication in or out. When teams went to investigate, the first few didn't return, when teams did return they described it as there being a wall of nothing. Just darkness where the city should be.

Infinity Road
Leader: Fantomon

Infinity Road is known for its expansive blackmarket. Virus Digimon tend to run things here and it typically isn't where tourists go. It's suggested that only those with close partner go here as even the Cyber Police that stay there are corrupted in some way. Still, if you need to get anything and have the bits to spend, it's the place to go.

Camel.dot
Leader: Griffomon

One of the cheesiest places in the Digital World it is one of the many digital theme parks that popped up in an attempt to make some money off of tourists. It attempted to replicate a medieval fantasy to entertain humans. Desperate Knightmons came to find work along with various dragon looking Digimon. Most seem to only tolerate it, though a few thrive off of the joy they bring to visitors.

File Ranch
Leader: Superstarmon

Another of the theme parks to pop up, this time a Western Town where Starmon tend to take charge. Their replication of a Human Western is strange to see the least but it is one of the more popular spots for visitors.

Gold City
Leader: Sakuyamon

Created by Killerclown
Gold City is the gambling and entertainment mecca of the Digiworld. The city, which seems to be inspired by the 1920-40s is forever gripped in a colorless, grainy atmosphere similar to that of a Noir film is home to Casinos, Night-Clubs, and three of the Digiworld's famous movie studios. The city is also infamous for it's organized crime, a thing which the Cyber Police and other officials have been trying to take down for years. Recently, the city has had a change in leadership in the form of Sakuyamon, who ousted the previous leader after claiming that he was corrupted by the city's influence. Sakuyamon, who is often seen in her Maid form is determined to "cleanse" Bit of it's corruption and has ordered the Police Force to organize a new unit made specifically to fight and bust the gangster that infest this popular tourist destination.

Leon - Police Officer
Partner: Gaomon
Leon had been running down an average smuggler, Gaomon trailing behind him. “You can’t keep running forever!” Of course the smuggler kept trying to lose Leon in the streets but hadn’t been able to. Leon’s digivice started to act up, but not as if Gaomon was changing. It hadn’t done this before and he nearly stopped just to check it but decided to finish the task at hand, finally catching up with the smuggler and knocking him to the ground. “Gaomon, hold him.” The blue digimon nodded and took Leon’s place as Leon went to check his Digivice.

“A message?” He muttered it out to himself and found a way to check, he soon realized the message came from the leaders of Cybertropolis. Location, date and time. “Alright,” Leon pulled the smuggler up to his feet once Gaomon knew to move out of the way. “Let’s go.” He started to take the man back to the station for processing. Mentioning the message to his co-workers once he arrived. Those he talked to shrugged, but the chief told him to go, if it came from above them then there wouldn’t be a problem there.

Leon showed up on the day in question, standing outside in his casual clothes and looking the building over. It looked like it might have been abandoned, but still in fairly good shape. Seemed like an odd meeting point. It almost felt like a mix of a warehouse and empty office. He looked to his partner before heading inside. Leon paused when he arrived into the main room, Omnimon was there, and after a while neither of them were alone. He decided to wait for the answers of what they were doing there.

Natalia “Talia” - Bounty Hunter
Partners: Gabumon and Kudamon

Talia had known that eventually the leaders would do something about the missing city. Once Kudamon arrived she had gone there herself to find nothing. It was just, gone, like that area of the digital world never existed, blackness stretched the entire length of the city and with it, her friend was gone. She had made her way back to Cybertroplis to watch the leaders and now she had forced her way into the group they were setting up. Kudamon curled around her shoulders as Gabumon stayed at her side. She watched as those who were actually summoned here with messages arrived. She didn’t care too much who they were, as long as they did their jobs. She knew Omnimon shot a few glares at her as they waited, the large digimon didn’t make his displeasure at her sneaking her way into the group a secret. Talia just didn’t care and even shot him a smile just to annoy him a little more. He seemed to become serious again as others arrived.

NPCs

The call had been sent out to various digivices, not it was on those summoned to respond. Omnimon waited at the building they had chosen to allow the group to meet. He wasn’t sure on the plan, rather he was rather certain that it was too dangerous, but desperate times call for desperate measure and everyone else seemed to agree it was the best thing to do. He looked at those who had already arrived, “There will be more on their way, hopefully they’ll be enough but since you’re all here, I see no reason not to get started, you can catch the others up to speed as they come.” He gestured to the room and the building around them in general, “This building has been designated your headquarters. It needs work, but it’s better than nothing. If you need something you can put a request in for it, furniture, supplies, all those sorts of things. We’ll assign someone to take and fulfill requests. But, that can be discussed more later, right now we need to get to the task at hand. As you may have heard one of our cities has fallen off the grid, we’ve sent scouts to check it out but they either never returned or if they did they described it as there being nothing there. All of this has caused panic. As such, in order to help the Digital World a selection of individuals like yourselves have been made. It is your job to not only find out what happened to the city but to help calm the trouble that has been caused. With all of the panic there’s no telling what will come. You have been granted permission to act without restriction, for now, if you abuse it then there may be problems later. If there's no questions, I'll leave you all to get to know one and other and send you a messenger later to help you with whatever you need, plus inform you of trouble.”

Hades. In the 8 years he had spent looking for the person who ruined the life of his parents and himself, Hades was the only piece of solid information he had learned. A screen name, likely one of dozens if not hundreds. How was he ever supposed to set everything back to the way it was if this was all he could discover after so long? Stretching upwards, Zeke would grunt at the sound of his back cracking, his attention returning to the three monitors set before him. Each had information flowing on it, Zeke resting his attention on the leftmost monitor. 8 years ago he never would have been able to process the flow of information the way he could now. He wouldn't have known a line of code from a binary sequence. But now? Now he was slowly climbing the ranks among the infamous hackers of the Digital World. And it seemed as if his ranking was about to go up again. With a curious Hmmmm Zeke would type in a command code in to his keyboard, the middle monitor changing from lines of data to a real time live feed of a man being chased and ultimately tackled to the ground by another male, then digihandled by a Gaomon. Almost immediately afterwards forum posts began popping up, stating what had just been witnessed. Smuggler John had been caught after all this time. “Well look at that.” A voice from inside the room would state, Zeke feeling a pressure in his lap as the small Tukaimon that was his digital counterpart made his presence known. “Another one of you humans taken down by one of us Digimon. Maybe if he had stayed in his own world, this wouldn't have happened.” The Tukaimon squeaked, humphing lightly and hopping out of Zeke's lap.

Rolling his eyes, Zeke would stand, saying “No, still would've happened.” He wanted to add more, to inform the purple puffball that it was a human that took John down, when his digivice shook and beeped, informing him of a message. And things just keep getting better. “Cmon. We got a job. One I hope pays better than that last one.” “I don't care what you get paid, as long as I get stronger.” Zeke would again shrug off the Tukaimon's words with a shrug, the duo leaving their hidey hole away from the world to rejoin society. Some travel time later as the building came in to view, Zeke would begin to slow his pace some. Even from this distance he could recognize Omnimon, and so could Tukaimon. The two would stay some distance back still, taking a moment to huddle and confer with one another as to what to do next. Zeke was sure they hadn't been seen yet, but that could change at any second. “What is this, some human joke?” “No joke. Even I couldn't pull this off.” “Then what does he want?” “Well I don't know~ Maybe he wants to give you a medal.” With a light humph the Tukaimon would begin to trot forward, intending to get to the bottom of this. “Well its about time. Greatness such as myself should be appreciated. I'm disappointed it took this long to get my recognition, but some things just can't be helped.” Try as he might Zeke couldn't get Tukaimon to stop his trek towards the Mega level digimon and those that had already gathered, the two coming in to view for those that weren't looking for them a moment later. After the explanation, Tukaimon would flap his ear wings to lift himself up and on to Zeke's head, getting comfortable. “So it is another job for the Humans. I suppose I can lend you my strength. After my nap.” Tukaimon would tell the group before closing his eyes, but not falling asleep. If they weren't here to praise him, then they wanted something. And he currently had no time for such annoyances. “Ok. So. But. Why....us? Why not...I mean, we're, well I mean I at least, am human. What can we do that Digimon can't?” with that he would find a wing ear tapping his face. “That's what I've been saying for years.

Digimon and humans continued to file into the abandoned building for some time. Their combined noise making it hard for Arthur to concentrate on his work. He had been brought in, mostly against his will, by the the police to help investigate the current Digiworld crisis. When the area had vanished, he was promptly picked up by the police and questioned. They believed that an area of the digital world doesn't just disappear without giving some kind of warning. If there had been a warning or some sort of evidence, it got passed Arthur, and it crushed him. So many digital lives gone for some unknown reason. Once he had cleared his name, he was instantly drafted to a task force designed to find out what was going on. His job would be to trace all anomalies and their sources to identify a pattern, the ripples from the event hopefully leading to a source.

Arthur's concentration was foiled again by his partner Candlemon screaming out over all the din after Omnimon's introduction, "Gaomon! Leon! Hi guys, I haven't seen you in forever!!" He jumped up and down on his candle stick waiving for their attention. "Ya know, I picked the spot in a corner, in a cubicle, behind Omnimon so I could work in peace. And they aren't our friends, more like our bureau appointed babysitter charged with keeping me on a short leash." Gaomon wasn't bad though.

Leon - Police Officer
Partner: Gaomon
Gaomon was the first to look over to Candlemon and by extension, Arthur. He shot a quick look up to Leon who eventually decided to draw his attention away from Omnimon to take a look. Leon wasn't surprised to see the hacker here, chances are they were already looking into every known hacker in the database to see if any had picked up signs of what was going on. Having any here explained one reason why Leon was here, he needed to make sure they didn't try to take advantage of anything. It also meant that he was the muscle, alone with the bounty hunter in the corner. He glanced towards the bounty hunter and then decided he'd rather go see how Arthur was holding up. Already deciding he liked hackers more than bounty hunters. Gaomon marched a few steps ahead of Leon once he knew where they were heading towards, pleased to be heading towards the other two. Leon might have been about work, but Gaomon enjoyed seeing those who he considered reformed, using the skills for good. Once they were close enough for Leon to consider it a reasonable talking distance he spoke up, "I'd say I'm surprised to see you here, but I honestly am not." He glanced briefly at Candlemon with a slight smile, "Hi Candlemon, keeping yourself out of trouble?"

Omnimon listened to the question, mainly about why the humans were needed. "Something of this size, likely will not just affect the digital world. If that means going to the human world then we needed to find digimon and humans who are able to work together, so that the digivices can protect any crossover into the human world. Digimon who try to cross over without help, typically run into trouble. Humans also don't think the way Digimon do, the change in perspective may lead to a break through and perhaps most importantly..." Omnimon shot a glance towards Talia in the corner of the room before focusing his attention back to Zeke, "There is evidence that a human knew something like this was going to happen, was able to find signs of it. The only problem is, he was in the city when it vanished. Out hope is that if one human was able to find the warning signs, then perhaps a group of you would be able to replicate that work... But we don't know how he did it."

Arthur furiously plugged away at his laptop, reading every line of data that scrolled past his screen. There was a problem with trying to find something out of place... EVERYTHING WAS OUT OF PLACE!!! "WHAT THE HELL!!!" And if that wasn't bad enough Officer Leon decided now would be a good time to make a social visit. He peaked over his screen at the cop and back to his code "Hello officer, I do not consent to any searches of my private property, am I being detained, am I free to go, I plead the 5th, I want to speak to my lawyer" he prattled off rapid fire. "That should cover our bases" "Hi Gaomon! its always good to see you sir! Thank you for your hard work keeping digital world safe!" Arthur never tried to hide his distaste for humans or the fact that he preferred Digimon. O course he'd be here, he was one of the best and he would do anything to keep the digital world safe.

"HI OFFICER LEON, HI GAOMON!" he said with a salute "Don't worry Arthurmon has been on his best behavior recently, he's even worked on a few other cases for Omnimon recently" Candlemon was so friendly, compared to his partner. Arthur cringed at the Arthurmon comment. That was the nickname he had taken on as a child to further distance himself from humans, and he held onto it for longer than he would like to admit.
