The Lion King: New Pride Rock

upload_2017-3-27_21-59-12.png

It has been 40 years since the rule of King Simba. The Pridelands continued to thrive and grow in prosperity, until a 'rebellion' sought to destroy this peace. They were unlucky in their efforts, and were banished to the Outlands for their crime. From there, the 'rebellion' became the infamous Outlanders that used to serve as threats to the Pridelands, back when Simba was King. The only known thing about this newly formed Outlander group is that they want to conquer the Pridelands and eliminate the royal family. Will you serve to protect the Pridelands, or will you seek destruction and try to conquer the Pridelands? That choice is left up to you.

The Pridelands. A wonderful, glorious, and free land. However, like everything good thing in the world, it has it's opposite. And the opposite to the Pridelands was the Outlands. The Outlands is a barren area, housing those who have made great mistakes and choose to disrupt the circle of life. This story takes place forty years after the rule of King Simba. The division between Pridelanders and Outlanders (Outsiders) has been put back into affect, as a group of lions attempted to kill the Queen (20 years ago). However, a new king has risen to the throne, his name Kodjo. Kodjo only wants to repair the status between the two factions, but he knows the aggression that the Outlanders hold. In addition, Kodjo isn't afraid to use lethal force, if necessary.

Kamari
Kamari found herself crossing into new territory as the sun slowly rose above the horizon. The orange tint colored the land and she wondered if perhaps this might be a good place to rest for awhile. She had been traveling for a few days straight now due to being hunted by another group of lions that were now across the Nile. Kamari sighed as she felt her lids feel the heaviness of her weariness. Due to her black coat, Kamari rested in the day time and hunted at night. This meant that the rising sun was a sign that she was past her time to sleep.

The lioness scanned the surrounding area for a quick place to rest that was out of sight. She was slightly at the edge of the territory that she knew must be home to some Pride of lions, so she figured that the edge would be the least explored. Kamari found a little hole hidden beneath some bushes that was covered enough to block her own scent and cloak her body while also allowing her to be alert to the sounds around. Curling up, Kamari found herself easing into sleep.

Sada
Sada had already rose with the sun as she peered out of the den waiting for the others to come enjoy the warmth. She had always been a rather early riser with most contributing it to her hunter's spirit, but some say it is merely her troublesome nature. Sada didn't care why, but knew that if she allowed her to sleep away the sun rise that she might just miss the secrets it had to tell.

The light colored lioness exited the den and made her way across the rocks towards the bottom of priderock. Her paws tingled with excitement as she was already prepared to run to the edges of the pridelands and farther if she could manage it. Still, Sada made herself settle down as she waited for the others to awaken before she ran off on a hunt alone. She was always taught it is better to run together than separate.

Nailah
The violet eyed lioness basked in the glow as she moved her sleeping spot to right outside the den. She had no intentions of really waking up so early, but she merely needed a better place to sleep. She hated the crampness of the den and if it wasn't so cold during the night she would just sleep out here. Nailah had suggested that she have her own den before, but mother informed her that it was important to be on the same level as the other lionesses. She could never understand why.

Nailah stretched her long body out as she caught the rays that painted the hard earth around her. She found that sleep was much more peaceful out here, but she should of known better as soon the hunting parties would be going out and most likely she would have to be on one.

Abasi
Finally, Abasi was up. Last night not training had woren him out. Abasi was surprised that his elder meerkat mentor was their to wack him on the snout with that wooden staff of his head. Why was a little meerkat teaching a lion how to fight? Well , it was a long story. " I'm surprise that old rodent isn't here giving my snout a beating right now." Abasi streched his body out, washing his self up before making his way out of his small little den on the side of pride rock. As he walked out into the open, he notice the lioness where talking among each other. He could also see the few lions in pack to

Abasi sighed as he walked past them, sitting on a flat rock near a small pond. He was to scout the area a little later. Until then, he decided to relaxed, waiting for his mentor to come. Abasi watched the pride from where he was, thinking silently to his self

Makko
Makko knew that he was in such a dangerous spot, but this was the only way to stock up on supplies. Since the pridelands was much richer then the outlands, more herbs and other supplies he needed grew there. Makko stopped on a ledge, glacing at pride rock in the distance. .which was once his home. There was no denying that he missed it, but it was what it was."The patrol will be here soon. I think I have time."

Makko crawled down from the ledge, creeping through some rather tall grass in case someone was there. .you could never be to careful." I need poppies, herbs, and some wild berries." He kept a craved bowl made from a skull he found in the outlands firmly in mouth. The sooner he could get his paws on the supplies, the quicker he could leave

Amana
-
Sunlight spilt into the opening of the den. There were some of the lionesses that continued their slumber, seeming unbothered by the sudden intrusion of light. Then, there were others like Amana who were forced to wake. With a low grunt, she turned on her front before opening her eyes. There was a dim light which dimly lit the den. She was not ready to rise, yet she knew the time for her to do so was steadily approaching. Her blue coloured hues darted back and forth lazily, taking in those who still occupied their spots and others who were now rising from them. She noticed that her sister Nailah was nowhere to be seen. She didn't question it. Amana knew the two would cross paths sooner rather than later. She lingered in her spot for a second or so longer before with much reluctance she rose from the ground. The feline performed a stretch in order to wake her body from its once restful state. She was more than aware that her strength would be needed. It always was. Even as one of the daughter's of the Outsider's leader there were certain things expected of her.

Kodjo

The sun was beginning to peak into the den of lionesses, and Kodjo. His eyes fluttered open as the dim light shun in his face. Peering around the den, Kodjo took notice to some lionesses still sleeping and others awake. Not only that, but Kefira was still missing as well. And while Kodjo usually worries about her not coming back, causing a restless sleep, Kodjo actually got enough sleep to think properly. It felt like his brain was 'fresh out of the oven'. Anyways, Kodjo rose from his sleeping position and stretched his sleeping muscles out. After that, Kodjo stepped over the, still, sleeping lionesses and exited the den. Kodjo's eyes adjusted to the light and when they did, he shook his mane, the final step in his morning routine. Finishing with that, Kodjo walked farther on, to the end of Pride Rock, and sat down. He wanted to take in the scenery and peer over the endless land. Despite the scenery, there was also the animals of the land. For example, a few lionesses were at the foot of Pride Rock, waiting. With the realization that Kodjo may be getting bored, he decided to head to the watering hole, to quench his thirst. He climbed down the side of Pride Rock and reached the bottom. Starting off to the watering hole, Kodjo could take two steps before a scout popped his head out of the ground.
"Sir." ,the scout spoke, "We've spotted hyenas in the gazelle's grazing grounds."
Kodjo gave a little nod and ran in the direction of the gazelle's grazing area.

Chephirah

The small white lioness has already been up for quite sometime since she couldn't wait to start the new day. She scampered through the tall grass not that far from pride rock, follow a small grey mouse that moved rather quickly. She laughed softly as she started picking up speed before she leaped off the ground, right as the mouse scurried into a small hole. " Aww please come out I want to play more!" Chephirah whined as she now stood over the hole pawing at the entrance a bit, though receiving no response from the mouse. "Fine then im not leaving until you come out!" the cub whined once more as she sat down, waiting.

When she spotted Abasi by the pond, the cub slowly started stalking the resting lion through the tall grass, poking her head out of the grass once she reached the rock. "Hey Abasi! Whatcha doing?" she questioned curiously, climbing ontop of the rock.

Celer

"Five more minutes" she groaned drowsily as the sunlight casted apon the inside of the cape, rolling over onto her side facing away from the sun. Snuggling into a nearby rock falling into a much deeper slumber.

Abasi
Abasi was so close to falling asleep, his head lauded against the cool rock along with the side of his body. The lion's eye opened up again when he heard a familiar. It wasn't his mentor's, it belong to the little white lioness Chephirah. He noticed that she joined him and flipped over on his stomach. If only he could stay here all day." I'm waiting for the patrol to head. Besides that, I'm just relaxing here." He yawned." Anyway, what are you doing all the way out here? " Abasi wasn't use to anyone being around him

Chephirah

"That seems rather boring though!" The young cub exclaimed pouting lightly , not quite understanding why one would just try to relax when there was so much to do out there. Chephirah glance back towards the mouse's hole before quickly looking back towards Abasi before answering him "I was playing with this mouse! in the tall grass over there, but sadly he got away! He also wouldn't come out of this hole when I asked him nicely."

Kodjo

The ground beneath Kodjo pounded as he ran with full force and speed. A group of hyenas were hunting in the gazelle's eating grounds, plus, hyenas weren't supposed to even be in the Pridelands. Kodjo kept sprinting towards his destination, until he had a clear view of the area. Just down the hill was five hyenas, staying low in the grass. In order for Kodjo to get the drop on them, he would have to be stealthy.......great. If there was one thing that Kodjo had difficulty doing, it was definitely being stealthy.

Abasi
Abasi smirked and sighed."Maybe it is, but it's really relaxing." He glanced over at the mouse hole and chuckled." Well, maybe he's scared of you since your bigger " his ear twitched at a familiar voice. An albino meerkat had joined him . " Size doesn't mean anything. But he is right, the mouse may scared of you...maybe if you can convince it that you mean no harm." He walked between the two

Chephirah

"Why would the mouse be afraid of me? Just because Im bigger than him?" Chephirah curiosly questioned tilting her head to the side, right before the albino meerkat had arrived, as she now lied down on the large rock. "So maybe if I gather him a bunch of things the mouse will play with me again?" the cub asked looking back and fourth at Abasi and the meerkat.
