Just to clear up a few things...
Your Rank refers to your power. It's on a scale of 1-10 with 1 being the most powerful. I wish for this system to not be abused and to have an array of levels. I expect to see no level 1's around at the start. The only character who is Level 1 is the Guild Master who I control. You cannot defeat every boss you encounter and will have to make sensible choices through the skill level of the monsters.
Your Gem is a piece of Jewellery which grants you your power.
