TVs' all over the country flashed at the bottom of the screen, a message much like that of a severe thunderstorm warning showed before they all turned to channel 17 with or without the owner's doing. A man in a white coat, wrinkles and a bald head was shown, speaking, various languages at the bottom of the screen showing. The message looped, over and over, and would for the next half hour.
"Ladies and Gentlemen, a new virus has come to our attention and we are issuing a public safety announcement to inform you of the dangers. This virus, unnamed for now and shall be, for simplicities sake, referred to as X. X has shown to be a disease similar to rabies in animals, though it's affects are quite shocking. Here we will pause to show you what an animal with X becomes like."
A video clip was shown of a lab rat, it's skin rotting as it moved though it remained alive, eyes feral, it's nails seemingly sharper as it attacked the cage, the tiny metal bars bending slightly on the force put on them. Soon, though, it stopped, and turned it's head as another rat traveled through a tube into the cage. Within seconds, the new rat was laying on the ground, stomach splayed open as the infected one devoured it. The man's image flashed back.
"We end that here for the sake of homes with children. So far it seems animals are the only ones who seem affected by X, and become very hostile and dangerous to other animals. Scientists do not know of the danger to humans, and though they believe nothing will happen, they recommend avoiding wild life till a cure has been made. Please, keep an eye out for dangerous looking creatures and if you see any, please call the number below."
A number flashed over replacing the various written languages, before the video looped back to the beginning for a while longer before it returned all TVs' to their local news station. In Gallo City, the first thing that came on the news was the large town square meeting where the new governor was holding a public conference where the people in the city could ask questions, give suggestions, and gain their trust in him starting in half an hour.
