Alright guys. So as many of you know, RPN moved all of the images on the site to another server not too long ago, and many of the images simply didn't make it, and a lot of us lost A LOT of stuff. Many of the images that are still broken are just going to be that way forever unless we hunt down the images. I don't have to tell some of you who've tried this how time consuming and in some cases impossible that can be. So here's what we're gonna do. We're gonna band together and share tips and tricks for finding our old images. So if you guys figure out anything useful, say it here, and together, maybe we can find what we lost. I'll start us off.
So I've really only got two tricks, and that's for images that come from huaban and imgur. If you don't know what huaban is, it's basically like Chinese Pinterest. I go to huaban all the time for faceclaims, there's a lot of good shit there that our filthy Western google search engine simply won't find for us. Probably because the tags are in Chinese. To make matters worse, every broken huaban image just has that frustrating broken image icon and a bunch of letters and numbers following it. Kinda like this.

So the fix is really easy. All that nonsense up there is essentially the identity of the image. All that's missing is its home. So before all that shit, simply put this.

Now you're cookin' with gas. So we take our home, and the identity of the person who lives there, and bam, you've got your image back.

Anything lost from imgur works the same way. What you have will look like this:

That's the identity. Here's the home.

Put 'em together and there you go.

Hope that helps my fellow huaban users who lost their characters or other images from that glorious glorious site and also imgur. If your broken links look remotely similar to the one I've used in my imgur example, chances are that's where it came from if you're not sure. Same for my huaban example. I know I was super happy to figure this out because it's pretty much impossible to navigate huaban in english and I didn't wanna go learn Chinese to find my faceclaims again. Hell, I was lucky I even remembered that the images even came from huaban. Here's to hoping we can all figure out some other tricks and help each other out.
