As it's sister facility in Colorado Awoke to the horrors of an uncontained facility, Illinois was one of the few lucky facilities that didn't have a Bio-Tech Hot Lab and was sealed with a mainframe operator who was awake during the years when the systems' glitches were found. As a result, the Illinois facility slept peacefully until the Colorado Facility sent it's distress call, waking the other facilities. The Illinois facility was one of the larger facilities to be built, constructed beneath Chicago, the facility was designed to deploy troops and as a result, has the largest population of military members in it. It is also twice as expansive as some of the other facilities, extending beneath the waters of lake Michigan, where it has a massive extendible chute that is designed for the deployment of military members via aircraft.
The Illinois Facility woke up one month after the events that took place at the Colorado Facility, and are the first to truly wake up to the world unmolested.
