Poetry The History of Sarah ‘Swift’ Hood ~ Poems from Magic

Poem: What If?
  • A poem by me

From the history of Sarah ‘Swift’ Hood (Once Upon A Time)

    What if
    You never left
    And my heart never broke

    What if
    You were the one
    And I was your girl

    What if
    We lived and loved
And there was nothing in our way
Nothing to break us and nothing to say

    But it can never be
    Because you left me

    Poem: I’m Sorry
  • A freestyle poem by me

From the history of Sarah ‘Swift’ Hood (Once Upon A Time)

    You were magical
    I always knew you were
    So I’m sorry
    That I was never enough

We flew through the air, you and me
In our own world where life couldn’t touch us
    And you never grew up

    I did
    So I’m sorry
    That I was never enough

You tried to give me all I could ever want
You still loved me, but you showed it the wrong way
You wanted to give me the world

    So I’m sorry
    That I was never enough

    Poem: Done With You
  • A (very long) poem by me

Note: First 4 stanzas or so have a rhyming pattern, but the rest doesn’t.

From the history of Sarah ‘Swift’ Hood (Once Upon A Time)

    Once I loved you
    And you loved me

    Once we were young
    And we could do anything

    That we dreamed;
You visited the children in kindness

And gave me everything I ever wanted
    You showered me with kisses

    But then
    You left

    And I was alone

You can never know how it felt
    Like all happiness had died

And you were the only one who ever cared
    But you were gone

    You’d never come back
At least, not as you were

    Darkness consumed you
    Evil followed wherever you walked
My heart broke for the last time

When you left, I was sad
And relieved for the greater good
By then, hurt was my constant companion

    But I’m done with you
I’ve found someone more special than you could be now
    He’s my true love
As you never will be again

If you don’t understand I’ll lay it out

    I’m done with you

    Poem: Terrible Things
  • A song-inspired poem by me (Terrible Things - Mayday Parade)

From the history of Sarah ‘Swift’ Hood (Once Upon a Time)

    Once I had the world
    Everything I could ever want
But terrible things happen to you and me

    My days were filled with joy;
I was surrounded by my family
But terrible things happen to you and me

    Even though we were outlaws
We were happy as can be
But terrible things happen to you and me

One by one they all were gone
    Never to be seen again
Terrible things happen to you and me

I was alone, in the dark
Until he helped me out of it
Terrible things happen to you and me

    People die; they leave
    Nothing is permanent
Terrible things happen to you and me

Now, son, I’m only telling you this because life can do terrible things

    Poem: Never Again
  • A melancholy poem by me

From the history of Sarah ‘Swift’ Hood (Once Upon a Time)

    Emptiness was with me
Never again would my lips be kissed by you
Or would I feel your arms around me

There was no possibility of ‘us’ anymore
Never again would you hold me as I cried
Or cheer me up as shadows crowded my thoughts

    Never will I forget you
    Or what we were

But you know like I do

Never again will I be with you
    Or you be with me
