Ben is a optimistic person, He dreams of a world were everyone can live without differences. Even in the darkest times he somehow sees the light and the ability to change in other people. He likes to joke with friends and even enemies, With the enemies it's more about taunting them till they do something stupid. What ticks off Ben is being treated lesser then others just because of his skin. He knows getting all huffed up over it won't help make any change to the world. Him saving the day will. His biggest flaw is that he is afraid of death. Since the day he came close to death he has always been afraid of dying. If it wasn't for his speed he wouldn't have the confidence to do his job.

History:



Ben was born in 1924 in Birmingham, Alabama. His birth happen at home which was common at the time. They say when he was born, He cried like no other and only being in his mothers arms could calm him. His family was a poor group of share croppers. They did good work but got little money for it. Things weren't that better when the dust bowl came along with the great depression. He was 12 when his family left the farm once they watch all there crops wither and die. His 2 older brothers and 2 sisters had to give up school just to help out on the farm for nothing.

At 14 Ben and his family was living in the slums barley getting by. His dad had turned to crime to make ends meet. His dad was working as a hired hand for a upcoming crime family. His jobs was to bury bodies and deliver messages and things across the African American community for the crime family did not want to draw attention to themselves. He also did some honest work but rarely got good money. His brothers had tried to rob a bank but failed and found there selves in prison. His sisters are still around and working as a clothing washer along with there mom. Ben was working as servant for some rich Italian woman and along with the pay he was being taught as well. He was allowed to take old books she didn't need for his own enjoyment.

At 17 years old WW2 had came knocking on America's door. His people were skipped for the draft but was still allowed to apply. When he was 18 he made it and was put in a black unit station in Italy. For 2 year he was there until his platoon and 2 other platoons was attacked by something horrible. The Nazi's unleashed a death machine on them. Ben had only saw pictures but never in real life. It shot a beam of pure energy which ended up devastating all 3 platoons. Ben was lying on the ground, In pain and bleeding. He wanted to run, The death machine was on wheels and getting closer, death was on his door. This is when Ben got up and ran and ran and RAN faster then ever before. He felt some strange power spark in him when he use it, It even felt fast. It felt great.

He escaped that day...He ran 10 miles away from the battle field and when this came to light Ben was sentence to prison. He was sent back home and spent 15 months in prison like his brothers. In this time his dad was killed, Shot in the head by the mobsters tat he worked for. One of the brother died in prison. Ben could had escaped but he didn't. He practice control over his powers in Prison and when he was let out he decided to never run again. That day he became The Instant and moved to Convergence City. He lives a average life as a janitor there and lives in a small apartment building.

Character Sheet


Appearance: Long, blonde, straight hair that falls to about mid back, green eyes, and average height are the most basic features. She has pale skin, but not sickly so and is of a healthy weight. Generally, she wears the most practical things she can find, including men's working boots, jeans, and t-shirts, both for practical uses and because it drives the general public crazy to see a woman in anything other than a dress or skirt. She doesn't have full control over her powers yet, still being fairly young, so she always wears gloves and long sleeves.


Costume: Her costume is partially made of her own power and is considerably more feminine than her usual attire. It consists of light blue tights, slim boots made of an unnaturally durable ice, a white, mid-thigh dress with blue highlights around the fitted waist and shoulders. The dress is short-sleeved, and where it stops, another layer of ice covers her arms but leaves her hands bare. Her neck and most of her face are hidden behind a layer of ice that covers her mouth, nose, and creeps up to stop around the side of her face at eye-level.

Personality: Just like her powers, Rachel is generally cold to everyone, even people she considers friends. She's serious, blunt, and will speak her mind on a subject whether people want to hear her opinion or not. When fighting and in everyday life, she is calculating and highly observational, able to pick up on little details easily and use them to her advantage. She strives to achieve the best from herself but is easily frustrated when she fails, especially if she believes it was at something she should have been able to accomplish (whether or not she actually can). Even though Rachel generally knows her limits, she tends to forget them when presented with a problem, often taking on more than she can chew and then getting angry when she fails.


All she really wants from life is a world where she can be herself without the rest of the world looking down on her, but she takes an aggressive and often destructive approach to her goal, believing that the only way to show people she's just as capable as anyone else is by showing them she's better than they are. It's not that she likes to hurt people, it's simply necessary to show them she can do whatever she wants and no one can tell her otherwise. Because of her ultimate goal in this, Rachel will always leave her signature to let people know that yes, a woman did this, so don't you dare look down on me because of that.


History: Rachel's had her powers since she was born. They started out weak, so no one really noticed at first, but as she grew older, people started to notice that the air itself chilled around her, that she was always cold to the touch, and that there was always a thin layer of frost on everything she touched if it was cold enough before. She grew up in a higher-middle class family in the general suburban area with her parents, two older brothers and a younger sister. Despite it being the "perfect" American family, she had always suspected that there should be more in her future than a husband, children, and the ever exciting business of house keeping.


When she was nearing her twentieth birthday and her parents were starting to look for a suitable fiance, that was the last push it took for her to ignore everything her parents had told her about keeping her power hidden and run away. There was no way she was going to marry some man she had 1. never met before and 2. would force her into the life she had so desperately hoped to avoid. When she reached the city, it became apparent that what was happening her in her household was a the societal norm, and so after securing a job in a small but objective book shop, she began her slow rise to infamy. Despite her methods, she truly does not believe herself to be a bad person, and so never breaks the moral codes she has set for herself. She truly enjoys her job, despite the low pay, and does her best to keep her civilian life and villain life separated from each other.

Lt. Little has a very professional attitude. She takes her position as Lieutenant very seriously and can be a bit uptight sometimes. On the battle field she is ruthless and calculating; the ways of war have changed her from what one would expect for most women.

History:

Silvia was born to a small family in New York city in 1920. Raised with her older brother Sam, Silva was not planned and was considered an accident. Although she was an accident, her parents loved her none the less but always seemed to provide things for Sam that Silvia never got. However the two siblings were very close so Silva never really cared about the extra attention that her brother got. Sam and Silvia were only a year apart, but Silvia spent most of her time helping her mother. Sam was in his last year of high school when the war was brought to america. Despite his parents not liking the idea of him joining the armies to fight the Germans, Sam joined the army and left them all behind. They received letters from him for a short time, but eventually the letters stopped.

Sam and his platoon had been ambushed during a march and most of the troops were killed while some were taken POW. Silvia was so upset that she enlisted herself in the army however was put in a Nurse platoon. She spent a lot of her time taking care of those who were on the front lines until her own platoon was attacked and she was taken prisoner. Silvia learned that the Germans had been taking their prisoners and using them in their experiments to create soldiers of higher caliber. Most of them did not survive, but there were a few that did survive and were deployed into battle. Silva was changed into the ultimate soldier for the Germans, but before the Germans could wipe her mind and begin implant a controlling chip, an air raid destroyed the research lab and Silvia was able to escape.

When Silva came to in the ruined research lab, a platoon of German soldiers were trying to extract everything they could. Silvia rose from the rubble and began destroying the German soldiers. Once the German forces were taken care of, Silvia made his way in the direction of the front lines until she reached american forces. The American Army was amazed with Silvia's enhancements and decided that she could be an asset for the war on their side. Silvia agreed to help any way she could as revenge for what the Germans did to her platoon and her brother. She spent the rest of the war as a Lieutenant for her brave acts behind enemy lines and so that the commanding officer could keep a close eye on her. Once the war was over, Silvia returned home but still maintained an active duty officer on a needed basis.

Personality: Kaila is almost too nice for her own good... well, unless you threaten her or her people. In which case, you get to meet Golem. Because she's a shape-shifter, Golem retains Kaila's core personality, but when she's fighting... well, watch out. Kaila, at her core, is kind, philanthropic, with just a hint of snarkiness. She's beyond loyal to those she connects with, and will defend them at any cost.

History:

Kaila was born in New York, to a Jewish immigrant family from Poland who emigrated because of pogroms. Growing up, her family lived in the tenements, but was eventually able to move to a slightly nicer apartment complex. Neither of her parents went to college, and ended up working three jobs each to support the family- Kaila and seven other children. Growing up, Kaila faced discrimination and antisemitism in school, and was rejected from most colleges she applied to for that reason.

Kaila first learned that she had shape-shifting skills when she was 10, and taking a bath before the Sabbath. She was pretending she was a fish, and suddenly, she was a fish. She was able to shift back quickly, much to the relief of her mother, who implored her to keep that specific gift under wraps- Hashem knows the discrimination Kaila would face if it was found out she was both a Jew and a Mutant.

In Hebrew school one day, the teacher taught them about the legend of the Golem, who was created to protect the Jewish community of Prague. Walking home from school that day, she saw another Jewish student being brutally beaten. She shape-shifted into a form that was identical to the picture of the Golem she had seen earlier, and threw the attackers off the student before returning him safely home. From there, she continued doing that whenever she saw anyone of "the tribe" in danger. And once news came out about the Holocaust... well, she decided to be the Golem on a slightly bigger scale.

Alias: Scorpion(side note: the world doesn't know that he's [the] Scorpion. Also, he started his career as a 'Hero' at age 23).

Villain/Hero/Civilian: Does Anti-hero count? Probably not.. then, let's just say he's a Hero with villainous tendencies.

Personality: James is cocky. Very cocky, sarcastic, and enchanting. All in one? Well, you know destruction will be right and left of him when he's in the picture. However, he usually dons an extremely thoughtful expression when working on his machines/mechanics. Sometimes the man will give out wise advice. On other days, he'll be the same old Prince Charming, spelling disaster for anyone in his way. Additionally, James is a force to reckon with when it comes to hurting his friends. Lay one finger on them, and you're a dead man. The only way to know that he is truly in love with someone is if he teases them constantly or hangs around with them more often.

History: History.. history... ah, yes!

James's father, Benjamin King, is a very wealthy man that sells and buys machines. He married the daughter of an even richer company, Lillian Adams, and together they formed one of the largest enterprises. However, Benjamin did not take into account that he would fall for his assistant, Ming Cheung. The two started what was a harmless affair, until Ming told Benjamin one day that she was pregnant. The next day Ming was gone, paid handsomely by Lillian to go somewhere far, far away. In spite of Benjamin knowing Ming, he was not told that she had been found out. Instead, he was told that she committed suicide.

James was born in China on a lovely spring morning. Ming, however, isn't who she said she was. Her name isn't Ming Cheung, it's Ming Kuang. James's 'family', unlike most, consists his mother, his mother's father, and an entire gang of bad-guy ninjas. They call themselves the 阴影小虎(Yīnyǐng Xiǎohǔ), or Shadow Tigers in English. They are a notorious crew known for stealing, and sometimes killing. They never treated each other as family, as James wanted, and were quite harsh to each other. Despite the fact that James is the grandson of their leader, they treated him no different. In fact, they treated him worse than most.

Every day, James would wake up at six a.m. or earlier to exercise/stretch, train in lethal martial arts, eat breakfast, etc. If he didn't do something right or broke one of the Shadow Tigers 'laws', he was punished. Their laws are strict and must be followed 'to survive.' No attachments, no unnecessary fighting, no other loyalties(except for Shadow Tigers), and lastly, no hesitation. James was taught all of these things at an early age, though 'no hesitation' stuck with him the most. At sixteen, he discovered that his father was alive, contrary to what his mother told him. This triggered some doubts for his loyalties in Shadow Tigers.

One day, while training, he finally took notice of the brutal way the Masters of the gang were treating the trainees. This wasn't a gang, it was a prison camp. He gathered up a group of Shadow Tigers that weren't happy with their conditions and the next month, they took action. Thing is, James didn't expect it to be a life and death situation. Many people died from the Shadow Tigers side and the rebellion. Finally, James and a handful of his rebellion were left standing against his mother and grandfather. The rest of the Shadow Tigers were either dead or ran off. The rest of the rebellion went against his grandfather, while he against his mother.

James was plenty bloodied from the fights he had with his previous foes but still had energy left. He was able to fell his mother to the ground; however, when he was about to finish her off, he saw something in his mother's eyes he had never seen before: love. And so he hesitated. Ming laughed, a terrible, high-pitched sound, before activating a smoke bomb and making her escape. James fell to his knees, tired and worn out, as his comrades shouted a victory cry for the leader's death. James, despite the fact that they had taken down his grandfather, was mortified that his evil mother was still out there, somewhere.

James and his new friends separated paths, for they were each going on different treks. James found his father in Convergence City and was able to reunite with him. After getting the hang of selling and buying machines, James was also able to help out his father. At twenty, James realized he had a hobby for taking apart some of the machines(that he bought for himself, of course) and turning them into something else. Soon, it became more than a hobby and he invented his own suit. While taking it out for a test, he realized something else: CC had a lot of crime. The next few days he was simply known as [the] "Scorpion."

Powers and skills:

Weapons: Tasers(close-range) on the palms of his hands which can be activated with his voice. He also has a katana which he uses most of the time, though it didn't come with the suit, of course.

Defenses: Cloaking mechanism and deflector shield. His armor is made out of iron and platinum, so it's rather hard.

Other attributes: His helmet has a load of gadgets! He can switch to night vision and/or thermal radiation. He also installed a mega-mic, but it can only be activated manually by pressing a button, right by his helmet's ear, and holding it while saying something. His suit is immune to most hacks.

Other: If there's anything that should be taken out, just tell me. I have no idea what a 40s Iron Man would look like or what weapons/defenses/etc. he would have. ;o;
