The Gamular

Kiroshiven

Shadow Cursed
Species
--------------------------
Name: The Gamular

Appearance: The gamular are a quadrupedal creatures made entirely of molten rock. These terrifying creatures average about four feet in length from tip of their snout to the end of their tail and 3 feet tall from their paw to their shoulder. The average weight for a gamular is 135 pounds. Gamular always have black as a color, but their fires range from orange to white depending on the heat of flames they can create. Orange being the ones with the lowest flame heats and white being the hottest. (Orange-Yellow-Red-Blue-White)The gamular have sharpened claws, teeth and horns ready to feed upon any prey.

Gamular pups don't have the spikes and look more like hell hounds. However after a year, the spikes grow in and the gamular is fully ready to hunt, kill, and burn anything that it wants.

Habitat: The Gamular live in groups called packs and avoid anywhere that there is water. The hotter and dryer the place is the better. They prefer desert-like areas or lava caverns as their optimal place. However, the gamular will leave these kinds of locations for hunting or for finding possible mates outside of the pack. A gamular pack will normally consist of an alpha, an omega, and ten hunters. Pups are excluded form the count.

Description: Vicious and blood thirsty, the gamular tend to roam outside of their "dens" constantly on the hunt for prey to kill and use as food to sedate their immense appetites. Gamular are skilled at out maneuvering and overpowering their enemies through not just numbers, but through sheer relentlessness and ruthlessness. Gamular have even gone as far as to hunt other packs just to expunge the weak or to take in new pack members for mating purposes.

Young Gamular pups are brought along on hunts and often given the opportunity to strike the final blow into lesser prey. Once they've had their first taste of another creature's blood, the young gamular are able to partake in the actual hunting and grow to become very nasty hunters as well.

The alpha and the omega of a gamular pack are determined by one thing: how vicious the beast is. Whenever an alpha or omega dies, the gamular begin to fight, depending on gender. The men will fight if the alpha dies and the women will fight if the omega dies. There is no such thing as choosing or a bond for an alpha and omega. It is merely, who wins.  The fight can end with all but one of that gender of gamular dying or with the others submitting to the one that wins. If it resorts in the death of one gender, the pack will begin to hunt down and kill other gamular packs to bring in new pack members.

Strength: The first strength of the gamular is their most obvious. They are a creature of fire and able to become a problem for creatures that aren't resistant to flame. They can breathe fire and to a lesser extent, control fire. This control is limited to making a circle of flame, either for protecting the pack or for trapping a victim within. Gamular are also entirely immune to fire and heat and highly resistant to cold climates. The gamular are able to control the heat that their bodies release so they can be either a cozy fire or a second sun. That's entirely up to the gamular, which is supertastic.

The second tool in the Gamular's arsenal is how terribly relentless and ruthless the creature is. A gamular isn't afraid to use its entire body as a weapon and tear, bite, stab, slap, burn or gouge its prey. All it wants is to kill it so that it can fuel its fires. Gamular will not stop hunting and attacking its prey until it is dead. It doesn't matter if the creature is going to die in time, the gamular will risk dying in order to kill its victim.

The gamular are actually talented hunters as well. They can analyze their own pack, figure out what the strengths of each of its members are and direct them, as long as its the alpha or the omega. The alpha and omega are the most vicious, but they are also the ones that command the others. They have to look out for the well being of the pack, the pups, and themselves. They are directly the most powerful versions of a gamular.

The final strength of the Gamular is their ability to recover a night's worth of sleep in an hour. Due to their need to be moving and hunting constantly to keep their internal flames alive, the gamular have adapted to sleep less and hunt more. They can sleep for an hour and recover what most creatures require eight or more hours of sleep to do.

Weakness: Stereotypical of all fire monsters, the gamular are easily hurt by water. Water can douse their flames to a lower level. Complete submersion in water for a period of longer than five minutes will kill an orange or yellow gamular. Ten to twenty minutes is the longest red gamular can last, while the blue and whites can stay submerged for a period 30-45 minutes. If a gamular returns to the surface after being under water, they MUST sleep for an hour in order to dry off and recover.

Gamular are brash and will attack enemies without a second thought if they feel that their pack can kill the enemy. This leads some packs into picking  fights that they cannot win and cost the pack several members. However, should that situation arise, the gamular alpha and omega put the pack before their own well being.

Gamular are creatures that are forever on fire and that means that they need fuel. Gamular MUST eat at least two meals daily in order to keep themselves alive. Failing to eat more than one meal for a day will make a gamular a bit more sluggish and their flames will drop one level in terms of color and heat until they manage to feed themselves and recover. If they don't eat for an entire day they fall into a coma-like state. At which point the pack must gather food and force feed the member to keep it alive.

Player Character
---------------------------
Name: Tor (Tore)

Growth Stage: Adult, Alpha

Appearance: Tor looks like most gamular except for two distinctions. He is a white fire gamular and he has no spikes whatsoever on his body. He is a bit larger than his kin at 5'2" form snout to the tip of his tail and 3'8" from base of his paw to shoulder.

Description [optional]: Tor, because of being a human soul in a gamular body, is nowhere near as hot headed as his kin. (pun-intended) He thinks and analyzes enemies before fighitng them and using their weaknesses against them, although he is still fully capable of being a murderous blood thirsty monster.

Strength [optional]: Tor, without his spikes, is more aerodynamic and faster than his kin.

Weakness [optional]: Without his spikes Tor is lighter than his kin and easier to be thrown about.

History [optional]: Tor was once a human druid. However, his animal companion had died while in the dungeon. Instead of leaving the dungeon to look for a new companion, Tor mediated and tried to call out to one of the monsters of the dungeon. For three days he sat in stillness, ignored by many of the creatures despite being a living object that sat still. On the fourth day, a rare breed of gamular came forth it was a spikeless blue flame gamular. It sat before Tor and observed while the human spoke to the beast as if they'd always been friends since the beginning. Over time, the gamular became Tor's companion and they resumed the hunt through the dungeon.

It wasn't until Tor and Burst, the gamular, wandered into one of the lava caverns in the dungeon that danger ever became a real problem for them. A pack of wild gamular attacked them. Their alpha and omega nearly killing Burst in the fight. To prevent Burst from dying, Tor used the last of his energy to cast a spell that would cloak the gamular from the pack. With only Tor in their sights, the pack of gamular fed upon him in front of Burst. Tor awoke somehow alive. However, he could only remember that he should've been dead and that he was a human. However when he looked at his hands, he saw paws of white fire coated in blood.
