HISTORY​

A section of a faraway galaxy, home to over 400 to 500 star systems. Permeated through is deep magical energy that courses through every star, planet, and living being within. 10,000 years ago there existed a superplanet at its center called Helia. Here existed both Gods and mortals, the mortals lived to serve those Gods in whatever way it deemed fit. Some Gods were kind, others cruel but all were powerful.

A group of mortals conspired to usurp the power from their rulers and become Gods themselves. Pulling from old, ancient, and terrible magic they began a ritual to draw the great beings into one place and steal their power. This worked in gathering them but instead of siphoning their magic, it created a cataclysmic event. Many of the Gods knew what was about to occur and gathered the mortals that followed them. Sending them off to faraway worlds, some did this because of love, duty, or respect. Others only wanted to keep their brood alive for themselves.

The world of Helia died that day, the ritual consuming so much power that it shattered and destroyed it. The magic that only existed on Helia was now spread across the stars to fuel new life and the old scattered with it.

Not all of the Gods of Helia survived were weakened from the ritual and some farther from sending their people out. Their forms were destroyed as well adding to the new power. Those that survived either followed their people or simply fell into space to drift endless or until called again. With this ended the Ages of Gods beginning the Age of Mortals.

Time passed and on their new world, the mortals grew and thrived pressing into the new magic they had access to. Some pushed into true arcane arts, others occult, and some even artificery. The legends of the old world and its Gods passed from memory even the longest-lived races and Helia faded truly and completely.

With great power and even greater ambition, the mortal became to look among the stars in hopes to grow their empires. From great starships to magical gates connecting planets together the mortal stretched and ventured out to more new worlds.

In the eyes of the original usurpers, the ritual they performed seemed to have failed in making themselves gods but they didn’t consider was time. They gave mortals powers into which they would become like the Gods of old. Will these new empires co-exist or repeat the same destruction of old...?
