Name: Jonathan Goldhirn
Nickname: "Scribbler"
Field of Study: Applied Metaphysical Mathematics
Age: 26
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Pansexual

Appearance:
Scientist.pngScientist2.png
Height: 6'1"
Weight: 181
Marks: Jonathan has tattooed shortcuts for his equations on his arms and torso. He wears long gloves to avoid staining his skin with ink, so they're rarely seen. His eyes have been altered by his work, with the marks and other bits normally in an eye instead being tiny symbols. He wears goggles instead of glasses, so this isn't usually noticeable. He has two pieces of metal embedded in his left ear after an experiment went wrong.

Personality: Jonathan has a hard time dealing with people on issues not relating to his work. He prefers showing over telling and his tendency to get distracted by his own thoughts often causes him to miss out on what's going on around him. He has an incredibly high metabolism, which combined with his work schedule often means he's usually eating something. He has a sweet tooth and often carries chocolates on him. He's impatient and has trouble staying still.
Strengths: Attention to detail, incredibly quick thinker.
Weaknesses: Tends to miss social cues, skewed priorities.
Talents/Skills: Mathematics, speed reader and speed writer.

Backstory:
As a boy Jonathan loved math. An orphan, he often spent days writing out equations and formulas when he wasn't being put to work. Realizing his value, the orphanage sold him into an apprenticeship under an accountant for a local bank. Jonathan found the work tedious and spent his off hours reading the latest papers on mathematics. The accountant he was apprenticed under was a dull but kind man and when he saw Jonathan's talent for new work and after he paid off the money spent to buy him from the orphanage (with interest of course) managed to get him admitted to a university.

Jonathan graduated with honors and was given a grant, but his tendency to isolate himself and his ever-increasing obsession with creating universal formulas quickly caused him to become a black sheep among the alumni. This reached a tipping point after a visitor to his apartment found it crammed with strange devices and the walls covered in equations using symbols that matched no recognized letters or numbers. Jonathan's attempts to explain his work to the university's board of directors only convinced them that he was insane, although not to the extent that he could be committed for. This resulted in Jonathan getting his funding cut off and his decision to enter the contest was born of both financial necessity and the need to prove that his ideas are true.

Description of Scientific Field:
The field of Metaphysical Mathematics is a wholly new one developed by Jonathan Goldhirn. After suffering a nervous breakdown after his final failure to finish a proof that everything can be mathematically accounted for (it can't because of Russell's Paradox, but that wouldn't be developed until decades later) he realized that his problem was that even with imaginary numbers he was still relying too much on objective reality. In his even more manic state Jonathan discovered that by substituting what he called 'Outer Math' he could not only create new formulas, he could manifest them in reality. Even though his results are reproducible the main problem is that others are unable to understand how Metaphysical Mathematics works.

Scientific Discovery: Jonathan has discovered a Metaphysical Mathematical Formula that lets something exist in two places at once simultaneously. It requires altering the variables in the formula depending on the object in question at which point the object will exist in two places until the formula using it is erased, at which point it will only exist in one of them. He's planning on naming it after himself.

This resulted in Jonathan getting his funding cut off and his decision to enter the contest was born of both financial necessity and the need to prove that his ideas are true.

Description of Scientific Field:
The field of Metaphysical Mathematics is a wholly new one developed by Jonathan Visvida. After suffering a nervous breakdown after his final failure to finish a proof that everything can be mathematically accounted for (it can't because of Russell's Paradox, but that wouldn't be developed until decades later) he realized that his problem was that even with imaginary numbers he was still relying too much on objective reality. Even though his results are reproducible the main problem is that others are unable to understand how Metaphysical Mathematics works.

Scientific Discovery: Jonathan has discovered a Metaphysical Mathematical Formula that lets something exist in two places at once simultaneously. It requires writing the formula in a circle around the object and where it is to exist elsewhere (with alterations to the formula depending on the variables) at which point the object will exist in both circles until one of them ceases to exist, at which point it will only exist in the intact circle. He's planning on calling it the Goldhirn Theorem.

Looks good, my only thing is he needs a description as the picture you used is a back one :)

Height:
5'4
Weight:
112
Marks:
She has a ghost arm which is covered by her robotic arm.

Personality:
The first thing to be noted about Gypsy is that she undoubtably reckless to the truest extent. Even if she knows it will cause her harm, she does it anyways. She is aware and doesn't care about many things. She finds ways to calm herself by simply not caring. But, she does slip and revels her high anxiety. She doesn't want anxiety attacks, but it happens in which she often times hides from others when they do. She doesn't want to worry people with problems of her own. She mainly wants to be by herself because she is fine creating problems for herself, but not for others.
Strengths:
She is a skilled fighter, note-taker, and inventor if she puts her mind to it.
Weaknesses:
She is often wants to be alone, very reckless, and has anxiety issues.
Talents/Skills:
She's a talented fighter and can recite every myth and facts about ghosts. Also, not sure if it's a talent, but she's horrible at naming things. A reverse talent if you will.
Relationships:
N/A

Backstory:
Gypsy was born into a wealthy family, but through an affair. Her wealthy mother had a one night stand with an impoverish man. Afraid for her life, she went away and hid from her wealthy husband until she was born. Then, her mother gave her to a family servants. Never again returning. There, Rachel grew up under the harsh reality of snobbish upper class folk. Often getting whipped and watching her family get punished as well. Rachel would get in trouble the most with stealing books about science from the family. This took a toll on her as she developed a fear of not knowing when the whip was coming, or not knowing when she couldn't hide or not knowing when one of her family members died. She wanted to know everything. Every. Single. Thing. So she wouldn't be scared again. When it was revealed Rachel had been apart of a wealthy family, she was taken out of that family and home. She was old enough to live by herself by this point so she travelled to Germany to pursue her passion for a science called: Parapsychology.

Description of Scientific Field:
Parapsychology is the scientific study of interactions between living organisms and their external environment that seem to transcend the known physical laws of nature. This includes Telepathy, Clairvoyance, Precognition, and Mediumship.

Scientific discovery/creation:
Gypsy wanted to get to known the Mediumship of Parapsychology better. During one of her experiments, her right arm had turned into what a lot people say to be a ghost arm. She couldn't touch anything and it could faze though anything. The only evidence of there being an arm was a purplish glow it emitted. She eventually dedicated her time using her arm as a test subject to find a material that can't be fazed through. Eventually, she successful did with a material she calls Rubbery Paper. A proper name will be later given. This material was made by her and didn't faze through her arm. She further built on top of it to give her a type of robotic arm, helped by her friend who was an expert mechanic. This arm can move and act like a perfect prosthetic arm. The material is what she hopes to win the contest with.
