A group of teenage vampires live in an abandoned building together because of deadly pressure from the outside human world. Their only connection to the outside world? A small assortment of human-turned-vampires called quasi vamps, who are human enough to provide food and service but vampire enough to be controlled by the bratty purebloods.

Away from this safe haven, the vampire population continues to dwindle. The vampiric government no longer holds the same power it used to, which allows for the wanton transformation of humans into low-level vampires, who're looked upon as scum by the precious purebloods.

VAMPIRE PHYSIOLOGY:
Pureblood - 100% vampire. Two purebloods produce pureblood offspring. There are different clans and families that rule the pureblood world. A pureblood who does not have a clan or family backing is considered as pathetic as a quasi vamp. Purebloods are also capable of strongly influencing any quasi vamps who they turn, and slightly influencing the ones that they did not turn themselves.
POWERS :: They have a strong influence over the quasi-vamps they have turned. Of course, they also possess super strength, strong skin that is resistant to cuts or other injuries, and super speed. They can turn humans into vampires or drain them of blood.
WEAKNESSES :: Purebloods need strong SPF to go outside during the day and even then will peel if exposed to direct sunlight for longer than a few minutes. Few vampires die from sun exposure in the present day since they learn to adapt from birth, but burning in the sun was a way for the vampire government to painfully punish those who broke the law in the olden days. Perhaps the vampire’s greatest weakness is their flammability. It’s like their skin is made of flash paper. Coming in contact with a fire or ember will cause them to burst into flames. Touching real silver burns their skin, and they can also be killed by being staked. Purebloods can also only enter a home if invited. They can’t stand the smell of garlic; you could force a pureblood from a room with a few cloves.

Halfblood - A vampire produced from the union of a human and a vampire. Considered quite rare, but disrespected by the snobbish purebloods because of their inability to turn humans into quasi vampires. Halfbloods are capable of amassing the power of a pureblood if they drink a large quantity of pureblood blood but this very rarely happens due to several limiting factors.
POWERS :: Halfblood have a lesser version of the purebloods’ super strength and super speed, but these powers are generally better than the quasi vamps’. They also don’t need as much blood to survive and can sustain themselves somewhat on human food (purebloods and quasi vampires can’t digest human food)
WEAKNESSES :: Unlike purebloods and quasis, they are not immortal. Extremely easily sunburnt. Silver will burn if they touch it for too long. They are allergic to garlic. They can be killed with stakes or fire. It’s almost impossible for them to enter a home without an invitation unless they are strongly motivated.

Quasi vampire - A vampire who was originally human, and turned into a vampire by a pureblood through the process of being fed pureblood blood and then drinking from a human. When the vampire government was in charge, these transformations were carefully nurtured and kept track of. They did not happen very often and when they did the quasi vampires were much stronger than the ones of modern day.
POWERS :: Quasi vampires can go outside without protection from the sun. They possess roughly a third of the purebloods’ super strength and super speed; however, their abilities can vary greatly from quasi to quasi. Like purebloods, they have armor-like skin. They can drink blood but cannot turn humans into vampires.
WEAKNESSES :: The pureblood who created them has a strong influence over them; they will find it extremely difficult to obey any orders, especially if they are newly created. Older quasis may be able to build up a resistance to this influence if they focus on doing so over the course of years. They will get a rash if they touch silver. They are also flammable and can be killed with fire or stakes.

LORE (based on Holly Black's novel, The Coldest Girl in Coldtown):
When humans are bit, they develop an overwhelming bloodlust but don’t actually turn into quasi vampires unless they drink human blood.
Traditionally the number of vampires was limited by the vampire government since the govt. They didn’t want their food source to be dried up by reckless turning.
Since the number of vampires was controlled, the transition was usually facilitated by vampires (who had to get permission from the govt. first) They would bite a human and then keep them away from other humans, feeding them their vampire blood every night to make them stronger. When they thought the human was ready, they let them drink human blood to finally complete the transition.
Older vamps who were “born” through this method would be a lot stronger than vamps who were created accidentally without all the preparation
The vampiric government has lost power since the olden days.

Because halfbloods are considered rare, we're going to limit the number to one halfblood per every three pureblood/quasi relationship.
