The Graphics Appreciation Thread

After a lovely conversation in Discord, I thought this thread might be a good idea - a lot of us make graphics for our roleplays by borrowing images and editing them, or making our own images or text collages.


So, if you have something you're really proud of, we'd love to see it! If you have a source to the original images that you edited, that would be good to post as well. Gotta give credit where credit is due, after all.

So I don't have a source for this file, even though I do have the original still. As far as I can tell it's from CoD: Modern Warfare 3 concept art.

SO. Despite my hiatus from the site, I find the need to post up some recent works in this thread.


None of this is RP related, but just what I've been doing for design lately in bursts. ^^


(These are all much smaller versions of the originals. Because 600 dpi giant files shall not be uploaded )

This first is a header/banner for my Twitch page. The lens flare goes right behind where a profile picture would go, it's not just floating around back there.

This is just a webcam/chat screen. Same theme, but with some faded colors and darker boxes to offset the white font. Busted up satellite up there was fun to tear apart. It started off silver and blue if you can believe it. I ruinated the colors and tore it to chunks. (ALSO it's a bonus Grin dohoho)

Lastly, basic-ass offline screen. Everything created from scratch, outside of the fonts. Both the starry background and planet were made in Photoshop and edited with various effects to get their current look and feel. The planet was even manually sculpted around the edges to give it a more natural feel.

The coding doesn't work on RPN because of shenanigans, but here's a screenshot of a post layout I did for monster encounters in an urban fantasy roleplay I ran last year on another site.

It looks like I didn't save the image to this computer, so it's going to take a little magic to find it. I'm 99% sure it was from either DeviantART or Safebooru though.

Hah, yeah.


The idea came from searching around the internets and finding a 60's-70's Science schoolbook that had a spacy sort of design on the cover.


I kinda' got hooked and had to make something of my own!

This was for a terrible 3am idea I had about an 80's inspired "buddy cop" RP that would ride along the lines of Miami on acid.

Okay, Layout examples from an old site, which I wish to hell I could get to work on this site because I miss making them form my characters


The all kinda follow an L shaped theme which worked well for the site.


Not all of them are great, but I enjoyed making them, and I've certainly improved my skills since these were made (which you can see as they change from the source images more), haha! They're chronologically latest, to earliest.
