Maradin queen of Calica ventured out into the desert to accompany a team of archeologists as they uncover the ruins of an ancient civilization. Bipedal creatures of long past with strange skeletal structures and resemble nothing of humans. These creatures named Avions by the archeologists appeared more intelligent and advanced then the humans today. Why did they die off then? The team finds a scepter buried in the sand. It’s ornate and decorative with jewels and inscriptions and at the top is an orb. Not glass but appears to be made of water. It’s solid on the outside but moves on the inside. It's alive. It speaks to the queen but no one else can hear it. She finds interest in it and decides to keep it. Over the years the once loving queen becomes more brutal, more fearful, more selfish and the scepter never leaves her side. The guards, court and everyone around her begin to show the same changes in behavior. Then one by one citizens of the kingdom begin to disappear. Three months later marks the beginning of the day the sky went dark. A strange sphere has appeared in the sky blocking out the sun and all light. It is almost like another planet hanging an arm’s length away from the surface of ours. Everything begins to die off because of this never ending eclipse. People become sick, starved. Cattle and crops die and the queen is having people arrested for crimes they did not commit and sacrifices them so that there soul can be consumed by the sphere allowing it to grow larger until in consumes our planet.
