3 months and a weak or two ago, the Meyer's Explosion threw Bruma into chaos. Just a couple weeks after that, Isaac Allan's life was forever changed by becoming a man-shark. The local news teams picked up on his presence after his first excursion on land, and during his second trip discovered that he'd been dubbed Thresher. This annoyed him because of all the DNA samples he was working with at the time of the explosion, a thresher shark was not one of them. At least, he assumed that's what sparked this change. Whatever the case, this was his life and he had to deal with it.

Tonight he was going on his third land excursion. It was riskier than he had in the past, but he had to try. His girlfriend got off work anywhere from 3:30-4:00. He just had to see her again, if only for a moment. She worked fairly close to the shore near a high school. Most of them should be gone, unless they were in a sport or club or something, but he still had to be even more careful than normal. The rout with the most cover skirted a bit too close to the school for comfort.

Isaac watched the large clock on the side of the school to keep track of time. He waited until 3:20, but dared not wait any longer. He swam a couple blocks away and crawled out onto the rocky shore, keeping a vigilant eye for any onlookers. Confident no one spotted him, he quickly ascended into the shadow of a building and into a small alley way. He stayed in the shadows as much as possible and close to the shore. He finally turned away from the ocean a mere block from the school. This was probably the riskiest part of the whole excursion. He watched for traffic and waited until no one was coming and booked it across the street. This particular section of road narrowed to a single lane for one way traffic heading into a roundabout. One more block over and there was the same thing in the opposite direction.

Isaac stopped in the alley and waited to see if anyone was coming. He didn't hear any screams, so that was a good sign. With any luck, the only sign that he was ever there would be a few puddles. But luck was not on his side. Someone was watching a security camera and spotted him. They didn't know what to make of it, but their superior knew this was something more than the cops could handle. They needed someone with a special set of skills. And that wasn't the only opportunity someone had to spot him. When crossing the street, he was in full view of the football field. Anyone paying attention would have seen him.

It's been only a couple months since Braiden's life changed forever, both for the better and with the addition of complications. His mother couldn't know of his new occupation, of course. Luckily, the agency's generally darker and better-paying side of things was hidden by a legitimate business. The city has been in general chaos, with so many people deciding to do less than moral activities with their newfound powers- Himself included.

Braiden has finally gotten what he expected to be a day off, which resulted in him sleeping in, of course. After a late rise, he decided to simply eat a large, late breakfast and get on with his day off. He was half-paying attention to the news on television while reading a short book that was recommended to him. Something about a man-shark beast being sighted near a school, which the media has decided to dub the "Thresher." Braiden pulled out his phone and sat it on his lap, and it soon began to ring. As customary, if something that required his work was news-worthy, his job wouldn't start until after it was known about. He answered the phone and took note of his current page before setting it down and listening for the specifications of this new assignment.

High paying, definitely dangerous, and possibly within sight of the public. Oh, and he was the only one to accept, being the most powerful powered person in the agency. It made sense since this "Thresher" was a beast straight from the comic books he'd read as a child. He quickly shut the television off, and got into his normal clothing, being his white suit and purple tie. Others thought it was kinda self-centered not to dress like he was combat ready, but he knew to keep his confidence in check, and left his home to make his way to the agency's headquarters. There, he'd make this contract official, as it was nothing explicitly illegal.

Isaac waited in the shadows, watching and listening. He hadn't heard any screaming nor were there any sirens. He didn't sense anything near him except a rat scurrying away. Wait! He focused on the distant sounds of sirens, but they soon grew distant. Looks like he was in the clear for now. He watched the street for any pedestrians or cars, just as he had the last street. This was also a single lane, but heading in the opposite direction as the last, so away from the school this time. He had to be more careful here. A car was more likely whip out from around the corner close to him this time. Finally, he took a chance and bolted.

Just as he crossed the street, he heard a car rounding the corner. Isaac dove into the alley and behind a large dumpster. Still, there was fairly large chance he'd been spotted. His fears were confirmed when it stopped. He held his breath and didn't move a muscle. The driver honked his horn. Or perhaps it was a car behind them, because they soon moved on. Still, he didn't dare move. He was now just a couple blocks from his destination, and time was running short.

Mike walked slowly down the empty street, any noise drowned out by his headphones. Mike was always a fan of mashups of songs. They were two great songs mixed together to create something new and special. The irony was not lost on him that he himself had become a mashup of sorts. "I do not understand this music. In my times we sung of heroes and battles, now you only sing of Finding a mate for reproduction and "Dat booty"." That's not the only thing we sing about. We have listened to over a hundred of these "Pop" songs and over eighty have been about the primal lusts. Is that what you called physical attraction back when you had a body? Back when I had a body I did not waste my time with silly music. My time was much too... LOGAN! The conversation was cut short when Logan saw a car out of the corner of his eye that he hadn't seen before stepping out to cross. The car came to a quick stop and the driver honked once. Logan quickly finished crossing and ducked into an alley way on the side of the road, pulling his headphones down and letting out a long breath. Then heard Weir's scolding tone. You must be Careful Logan. I have already died once and I do not intend to go before our work is done. Yeah whatever magic man, Your forgotten quest spiel is getting really stale. Let me know when you figure it out but until then can you shut up.Mike went to put his headphones back on but dropped them when he saw the creature that sat at the end of the alleyway. He took one step back before tripping over his own feet. He raised his hand and pointed it at the large shark creature and froze.

Isaac froze, alarm bells going off in his head. someone was close. At first he thought maybe he’d be fine if he just didn’t move, that maybe they would just exit the alley as quickly as they’d arrived. The slower heartrate gave him some hope, but this was quickly dashed as it spiked again. Some hurried shuffling and a thump indicated they’d fallen as well. Now stuck between a rock and a hard place, he had to make the most of this.

He turned his head to see a man on the ground with a hand extended towards Isaac. he slowly turned around and stood up to almost his full height. He raised his hands, palm outward, in a sign of peace. Hopefully. While this was happening, he spoke. “I mean you no harm.” Each word was rough and gravelly with a short break between words.
