The City of Atama

Atama; strong, rough, hardened. Atama is known as the land of the holy as well as the dwelling place for the Grand Inquisitor. It is guarded by mighty stone walls adorned with gold. It is heavily guarded by some of the most elite forces in the world. In the center, lays an enormous castle that is easily visible by everyone. This is the home of the inquisitors. They purge each and everything they deem unholy and have destroyed entire races in the matter of weeks because of this. At the top, there is the Grand Inquisitor who is essentially the monarch of the city. At the bottom, are simple nameless knights that do most of the work, while they're not vast in numbers they are still a force to be reckoned with. 


The city called Atama has stood firm longer than anybody can remember. As a result magic is heavily scrutinized, as it is only a recent discovery and many are still wary. There are many superstitions that remain in its walls due to the Witch of Atama. There was a tragic event involving the woman that had killed many within the city and nearly destroyed it. As a result female magic users will face more prosecution than anyone else in the city's walls. They will often be called Witch, or Athens, as a way to compare them to the long passed witch. All mages within the city are required to register with the council of mages, if they do not then will be hunted down. There is a week period after you first utilize magic in which you will have to register. The council does act as an army of sorts and it also acts as a way for the Grand Inquisitor and his men to keep track of what the mages are doing in the city. They do not want another Witch of Atama running around, after all.
