Name: Alaina Sterling
Age: 17
Gender: Female
Personality: Alaina has a supringsly bubbly personality for someone who is training to become a soilder and tries her best to spread positivity and cheer to those around her. An optimist at heart, she does her best at always trying to find the silver lining to any given situation.

However, her optimistic attitude leads to her easily glossing over problems and underestimating her opponents.

Alaina is also fiercely patriotic and takes great pride in her country.

Backstory: Alaina was born into a prestigious military family and has been raised on stories about her ancestors valor and accomplishments in battle.

Her powers first manifested when she was about seven during a camping trick. A wild animal had wandered into her family's campsite and trying to get it to run away Alaina chucked a rock at it and unwittingly triggered her powers for the first time (though the resulting explosion resulted in little more than some singed fur).

As Veridian was plunged into war, her father was sent to the frontlines (where he would eventually fall in battle). Desperate to follow in his and the rest of her family's footsteps, Alaina enrolled in the Ascension Academy as soon as she was able to, hoping to use her powers to finally secure victory for her country.

Though her stay at the academy haven't been without its issues. While impressive, her ability is fairly dangerous to both herself and those around her if not controlled properly. This has resulted in most of the students avoiding her.

Esper ability:
Alaina has the ability to cause non-organic objects she's previously touched to explode.

The object in question must be able to fit inside the palm of her hand for her ability to function. The power also requires a fair amount of concentration to activate and using this power quickly exhaust her (both mentally and physically).
Equipment: Though they're typically reserved for officers Alaina "uses" a kyū-guntō in combat (mostly for the sake of appearance).

The weapon she's actually trained with and expected to use is a Arisaka Type 99

Personality: Quiet, introverted, studious and generally hates most people. It is very rare that she talks to anyone besides her brother. She hates they military but kind of got dragged into the academy along with her brother since they had nowhere else to go.
Backstory: She and her brother were born to a very messy mother whom had originally tried to abort her pregnancy but didn’t have the finances for that and the twins were stubborn. Since their birth they were treated as if they were an irritant and their mother tried to keep her kids from interfearing with her life and business, leading to a very hard life.

When she turned eight, both her and her brother’s abilities showed themselves. Her mother had bright over a customer but he was quite volatile and actually tried to end the twins lives by breaking a bottle of whiskey and trying to stab her but her brother got in the way and blocked him with his body but wound up only feeling pressure, but there was no cut from the glass. In the madness of the moment, Angel screamed and her vocal chords activated and hit a pitch that was extremely painful. This caused her brother to cover his ears as tightly as he could but for the man whom she was screaming at, it was too late and his eardrums burst quickly, leaving the man deaf for the rest of his life. She discovered through trial and error that she has the ability to do many things with her voice and the sounds she makes wit her vocals. It was then that their “mother” enrolled them into the academy as soon as they were eligible to go. As soon as the academy took them, she washed her hands of her kids and abandoned them to the military.
Esper ability: Siren voice: the vocal cords are stronger and longer than a normal humans and allow the individual to hit notes, cords, pitches and tones that normal people can’t. This allows the individual to be able to sing at a tune to cause certain reactions to happen. Depending on the frequency used, could destroy eardrums, shatter glass, cause dizziness, disorientation and other minor things that sound waves can do. However, because it is sound it is hard and sometimes impossible to control where it goes and who or what it effects in the area. So friendly fire is a very common problem, and can even hurt the individual using said ability.
Equipment: High-spec noise canceling headphones with Bluetooth so she can find a song she can use to get the right feel for the intention of her ability. (She can’t write music to save her life but likes it non-the-less)

Personality: He’s cold and quiet and hates people. The only person he likes is his sister. He likes to say that they were together before birth and will be together after death. He doesn’t trust anyone and he’d much rather read than interact with people.

It was then that their “mother” enrolled them into the academy as soon as they were eligible to go. As soon as the academy took them, she washed her hands of her kids and abandoned them to the military.
Esper ability: Unbreakable skin: while the skin’s cellular make up is much more tightly stuck together that not even a molecularly sharpened steal blade can cut the skin, however it is flexible but the inside is still vulnerable. While the skin cannot be cut, or scratched, it can be bruised and blistered. Internal injuries are very problematic as surgery would not be possible except by a diamond coated, atomic-sharp blade can cut through to save said individual. While normal stabbing and cutting and tearing are impossible, choking, oral drugs and impact wounds are still a hazard.
Equipment: High-speck noise canceling headphones (since he spends all his time with his sister and is most of the time in line of friendly fire), and also has the sword that he regularly uses on missions and takes care of it and sharpens himself.

Personality: Calem is usually shy and slow to open up to others when they first meet him. He never wants to be the one to start a conversation but does try at least talking to people. After getting to know him more, he is a genuinely nice person that cares about people. However even after that, he still seems like he’s holding something back but that more has to do with him not wanting to let others in. He doesn’t like talking about his past that much and often makes a snide remark when he thinks no one is listening to him. He’ll defend himself from being accused or insulted but only if he has to. He often randomly draws to pass the time.
Backstory: Calem grew up in what others would consider a normal home. He had friends and a loving family with a bright future in the art world. At least that’s what he told people. While he did have parents that loved him, with one being a doctor and the other working for the government, he didn’t really see them. He often got made fun of by a lot of other kids due to how socially awkward he could get. He only had a few friends and even then, he didn’t tell them that his parents weren’t around. The only comfort he had was his skill with art with a lot of people telling him he could be a professional in the future. After his powers activated though, that got taken away from him. The government threatened his family if he didn’t fight, leaving him little option, though both his parents protested making him fight in a war.
Esper ability: Teleportation aka Blipping, though that's just what he calls it- he can move himself around within a 20 meter area. When he uses this power Calem will end up using 2x of the energy it would take to walk that amount and he cannot move until he has fully appeared. If used rapidly he can become disoriented and his vision will blur. He can take others with him but it will take more energy and he cannot go as far.
Equipment: Calorie Tab- meant to give him energy and replace lost calories but offer little in terms of nutrition, given a bottle of them. A dagger and throwing knife.

Personality:
Hartwin is a rebel with a simmering anger that constantly fuels his actions. He's not one to conform to rules or societal norms and has a knack for challenging authority at every turn. His demeanor is marked by a smoldering defiance that often leads him down unconventional and even underhanded paths to achieve his goals. He's quick to anger and doesn't hesitate to voice his discontent when faced with what he perceives as injustice or oppression. Hartwin's temper can be a double-edged sword, sometimes leading him into reckless situations, but it also makes him unflinchingly outspoken about his beliefs.

Hartwin possesses a strong sense of self-reliance and trusts few people, often preferring to work alone. He's resourceful and cunning, using any means necessary to achieve his objectives. He's not against using underhanded tactics or bending the rules when it serves his purpose. While his demeanor might seem abrasive, Hartwin's anger is not without cause. He resents the world that has treated Espers with suspicion and disdain, pushing him into a life of defiance. Despite his rebellious nature, a flicker of idealism remains deep within him, a belief that, by any means necessary, he can make a difference.

Background:
Hartwin Schwarz's life as an Esper began in a world marred by discrimination and fear. He was born to non-Esper parents who, rather than protecting him from prejudice, threw him to the wolves. From a young age, Hartwin experienced the unjust treatment of Espers and carried a smoldering resentment within him.

His parents, non-Espers were more concerned with societal acceptance than their son's well-being, distanced themselves from him, leaving him to navigate the world of discrimination alone. This abandonment only fueled Hartwin's anger and rebellious spirit.

As he grew older, he took matters into his own hands, using his powers for acts of rebellion against oppressive authorities. His telekinetic thread manipulation became a tool for challenging the status quo, and he was relentless in his defiance.

One such act of rebellion drew the attention of the authorities. Faced with the choice of imprisonment or joining the academy, Hartwin reluctantly opted for the latter, driven by a will to survive and a determination to challenge the world's perception of Espers.

At the academy, his rebellious nature has already started clashing with the rigid structure. He resists conformity at every turn, often finding himself at odds with instructors and authorities. Yet, beneath the defiance, Hartwin recognized the potential his powers held, and he sought to harness them into a formidable force.

As Veridian's situation grew increasingly dire and war loomed on the horizon, Hartwin's anger found a new purpose. He was ready to unleash his powers on the battlefield, driven by a burning desire to make the world acknowledge the strength of Espers.

Esper ability:
Hartwin possesses the unique ability to manipulate and control existing threads and wire through telekinesis. He cannot create these materials but excels at shaping and utilizing them with exceptional precision. In combat, he forms threads into razor-sharp, needle-like extensions that he propels with telekinetic force, making them deadly piercing projectiles. These projectiles maintain their sharpness and durability, capable of piercing various materials and even light armor.

For mobility, Hartwin uses telekinesis to manipulate threads and wire, attaching them to fixed points and swinging through the air, much like a grappling hook. This agility provides him with a swift and unpredictable presence on the battlefield.

His telekinetic control extends to creating intricate patterns or traps with threads and wire. For instance, he can set up tripwire traps to impede enemy movements or create net-like barriers to immobilize foes.

Equipment:
Spools of reinforced wire, the wire is both durable and flexible, allowing Hartwin to craft intricate patterns and traps during combat.

Magnetic clasps, by using his wire along with the magnetic clasps, he can create stable and versatile anchor points for his threads. This ensures greater control and precision when navigating and manipulating his surroundings

Hartwin is being trained in the use of a Karabiner 98k. This firearm was chosen to provide him with long-range firepower to complement his telekinetic thread manipulation.​
