Welcome to camp! Have you ever wondered why you saw things no one else can? Why random ladies on the subway suddenly started looking at you like you are a tasty treat? Why your best friend may or may not have goat legs? WELL LET ME GIVE YOU THE SCOOP OF A LIFETIME! You my friend are a...wait for it...DEMI-GOD! Or Half-Blood...or lunch...or whatever they decide to call us because it is the only kinda call some of us get from our parents! Oof! That hit too close to home? Ah no worries, most of us never hear from the good ol' mom or dad. Wha? Oh, you don't understand! Got it! So, my dude, YOU are what happens when a god, ya know like the greek gods, decides to get a lil too friendly with a mortal. One thing leads to another, your mortal parent does the nasty with a god, life goal accomplished, and then you come into the world. Sounds super magical, right? Well, it also comes with a healthy serving of IMMINENT DEATH AND DANGER! Suuuuuuper fun stuff. Here at Camp Half-Blood we work tirelessly to lower the demi-god death count each and every year. Behind the magical barrier that cloaks this camp we do all the normal camp activities like archery, canoeing, capture the flag, combat practice, climbing the lava wall, pegasus riding, the works. This is a safe space for people like us, just mind the swords...and the Ares cabin...and probably a really pissed off looking blonde. Diego is generally a pretty laid back guy, although at times he can be a little *hot headed* (excuse the pun). He's exceedingly sarcastic, always the type to crack dark humored jokes at the most inappropriate of times, but is exceptionally loyal and genuinely has a kind and selfless heart.

Diego enjoys jogging around camp with his dog, Dante. He's also big on bonfires but HATES swimming (his uncle Poseidon doesn't like him very much). He loves telling scary stories to the younger campers around the bonfire and scorching marshmallows for s'mores. His headphones are his prized possession as he is constantly listening to music. He also genuinely enjoys practicing swordsmanship with his best friend, Addison.

Like most demigods, Diego was the product of a one night stand. His birth mother, whom he never knew, gave him up when he was born having no knowledge of his godly parentage. Diego spent his formative years skipping from one foster home to the next, and never developed any real connections or sense of family. He was coined a "difficult child" due to his hallucinations, dyslexia, and ADHD, and as he grew older it became harder and harder to find adequate foster homes to place him in. Eventually he was placed with the Todoro family, a low income family who already had three biological children of their own. The Todoros received money from the state to care for Diego, however this money was never actually used on Diego. More often than not, Maria Todoro, his foster mother, would use the money to buy herself a new pair of shoes or new toys for their biological kids. On Deigo's thirteenth birthday, he began to discover his ability to manifest and control flames. Believing himself a freak, he kept this newfound power to himself... but one night, in an attempt to push his own limits, he accidentally set a blanket in his bedroom ablaze. The small fire was put out quickly and there was no serious damage, but the entire ordeal elicited a physical altercation between Diego and his foster father, Marco. Marco threw Diego to the floor and broke Diego's nose with his fist, screaming that Diego was reckless and a danger to everyone. Taking matters into his own hands, Diego decided that living on the streets was better than living with the Todoros. During his time on the streets he befriended a stray dog, whom he would later find out was actually a hell hound sent by his father to watch over him. Eventually, he ran into Addison, a daughter of Athena on a quest of her own to hunt down the fury that killed her half-brother. Addison quickly put the pieces together, discerning that Diego was also a demigod, and brought him back to camp where the two became best friends. Now, Diego lives at camp full time and is the happiest he's been in a while.

POWERS

AND ABILITIES

• Pyrokinesis - Diego has the power to manipulate, manifest, and control fire and flames. This is his favorite power and definitely his most frequently used.
• Umbrakinesis - can control and shadows and darkness.
• Mild Geokinesis - sometimes during moments of great stress or danger he can minorly influence the ground and dirt. He has very little control over this and doesn't use it frequently.
• Death Sensor - Diego can sense when a friend is dead or dying, this is his LEAST favorite power.
• Telepathy with the Dead - Diego can converse with the souls of the departed, though to be honest it kinda gives him the creeps. He hasn't disclosed this power to anyone except his closest friends as he fears everyone would always be asking him to help them connect with their deceased loved ones.
• Memory Manipulation - He can manipulate or erase entirely certain memories of events, places or people.
• Phobikinesis - Children of Hades radiate an intense aura of fear and death like their father, but to a much lesser degree. Thanks to this, they can make monsters initially back away from them. They can radiate death from nervousness and rage, making the living around them rot and/or die. Their aura can also make the air around them almost impossible to breathe, as their anger burns away the oxygen near them.
• Unfettered Underworld Access - Diego can freely enter and exit the realms of Hades and those who are with him are afforded the same access.

DANTE

Immortal Hell Hound

When Diego was young and living on the streets, he was often followed around by what he presumed to be a stray dog. Appearing like your average, long haired German Shepherd, the dog would frequently bring Diego scraps of food when he was on the verge of starving, cuddle close to him when the weather got too cold ... and whenever Diego was in danger, scared, or even just lonely the dog would show up. After a while Diego took to calling him "Dante" (after his favorite book, Dante's Inferno) Dante is Deigo's best friend, rivaled perhaps only by Addison. Once Diego arrived at camp and discovered his true parentage, it was revealed that Dante was not just any ordinary dog, but was actually a hell hound his father had sent to watch over him, enchanted to look like a normal dog. Dante can be absolutely viscious when provoked or whenever Diego is in danger, but if you're a friend of Deigo's you're a friend of Dante's. He's a big softie to those that he's familiar with, or those whom he knows have good intentions. Dante rarely leaves Deigo's side, and even wears a collar that Diego's friend Maxie made, which provides armor for Dante whenever Diego wills it.

WEAPONS

Dual Blades

Diego has twin blades that he typically keeps crossed in a holster on her back. The blades can be ignited with hellfire via Diego's pyrokinesis and he often keeps the metal scalding hot if not actively on fire.

Though one would never call her 'curvy' she does have the definition in her waist, hips and chest expected of a girl her age. She has very rounded shoulders and her collarbones are clearly visible, she also has tiny wrists, but her abdomen and legs have a healthy distribution of muscle tone.

Addison is a very driven and self-motivated girl. She can be a bit cold (unintentionally) when you first meet her, mostly because she's never understood the point of small talk and unnecessary niceties. This girl can have QUITE the attitude. She absolutely hates being wrong and thinks she knows everything (she usually does know everything, but there are a few rare occasions when she doesn't). She's honest to a fault and unwaveringly stubborn. If you are lucky enough to call her a friend though, she'll be loyal to you until her last breath. She's very hard on herself and pushes herself harder than most in an effort to gain her mother's attention. She wants to be the best at everything that she does and is very competitive.

Addison grew up in Port Angeles, Washington with her father, Michael Montgomery and her older half-brother, Peter Montgomery. Her father was a graduate of Yale and an incredibly successful attorney who specialized in the defense of convicts sentenced to death row. Her father was often busy with work, so she was raised for the most part by Peter. Michael was never a bad or neglectful parent, he was just never home. The siblings were incredibly close, and Addison idolized her older brother. They spent days at a time camping in Olympic National Park just a short drive from their home in Port Angeles. Addison had known of her parentage since she was born, her father never kept it a secret from her or Peter and she spent every summer at Camp Half Blood as soon as she was old enough to go. She would always exchange letters with her dad and Peter while she was away. In the summer of her 13th year, while Addison was at camp, Peter was brutally killed by a fury disguised as one of their father's clients. The fury had been looking for Addison but had arrived at the Montgomery house to find Peter alone in his room, assuming he was the demigod she had been sent to kill. When Addison returned home from camp for the funeral her father told her that Peter had been murdered by an infuriated client who wanted revenge against Michael for failing to win her case, which he truthfully believed. However, Addison could smell the stench of the fury the moment she walked into the house.

The day after the funeral, at which she refused to cry, Addison packed a bag and caught a bus to California. She had heard rumors that the gates of hell were hidden somewhere in Los Angeles and that hordes of furies called that place home. She was determined to kill the fury that had murdered Peter, to make her beg for mercy, Addison was driven by rage and revenge, and it caused a darkness in her that still lingers to this day. Once she tracked down the monster, she drew her dagger and engaged in the single hardest battle she had ever waged. During their gruesome brawl the fury raked it's claws down the left side of Addison's back, it was the first time the daughter of Athena had ever screamed in pain, and she would carry the scar with her for the rest of her life. Ultimately, Addison won the fight, sinking her jewel encrusted dagger into the fury's heart with a sickly satisfaction that still made her question her own morals. That night, as she struggled to limp towards the hospital to get her wounds treated, she came across a mangy stray dog who nipped at her heels as though he were attempting to herd her somewhere. She swore it felt like something straight out of Lassie, but ultimately she ended up following the dog, who led her to a dark-haired boy who was on the verge of starving on the streets with a broken nose and torn clothing. His name was Diego. She didn't know who his godly parent was, but she could tell Diego was a demigod, and so she brought him and his dog back to camp with her. The rest is history.

• Telumkinesis - Automatically knows how to use any weapon in her hand, can shift weapons from one type to another (ex; a sword to a bow to a dagger etc.)

FROM HER MOTHER

Shortly after her mother claimed her, Addison found a necklace with an Athena pendant laying on her bed. She started wearing the golden charm every day and never took it off. Eventually, she discovered during a heated game of capture the flag that the necklace forms a golden armor barrier wherever there is impending contact. The armor almost looks like a golden liquid over her skin, and only appears over the area where she is about to be hit, otherwise it remains inactive around her neck.

• Biokinesis - Lyssa can change her physical attributes at will, such as the color of her hair or eyes.
• Enhanced Beauty/Love Aura - Lyssa, like many of her siblings, is exceptionally attractive. Though it's been said that her particular aura goes far beyond that. Some claim that her mere presence is intoxicating and that people simply want to be around her because of her beauty and allure. This is actually a great source of selfconciousness for Lyssa as it causes her to doubt whether her friends actually like her for who she is or if they've just fallen victim to her aura (which she has no control over).

FROM HER MOTHER

Lyssa's mother gifted her with a mirror that allows her to speak with Aphrodite herself. The two are unusually close, closer than most demigods are with their parents, and definitely closer than Zeus would prefer. Lyssa talks to her mom about once a month through the mirror but was sworn to keep it a secret so her brothers and sisters wouldn't accuse their mother of playing favorites.... even though Lyssa is obviously one of the favorites.
