Welcome to Barnegat Light, New Jersey.
To its residents, Barnegat Light is the epitome of "Small Town, USA-" small enough that they don't even have their own school district, exempting the one room schoolhouse which closed in '51. This quiet seaside town is home to 574 residents, all unique, and of course, everyone knows one another.
Like many small towns, Barnegat Light doesn't have a multitude of attractions, stores, or restaurants. There's a Main Street with some stores, a diner where the older folks frequent often, and the Coffee House.
The coffee house is where the younger people of the town come to gather. On weekends, you'll find it bustling with high schoolers, different cliques at different tables. Young parents also frequent the coffee house, not yet ready to relinquish their youth. Maybe it's the cheap food, or maybe it's the charm- either way, the coffee house is the meeting place of many in the town.
With summertime in full swing, and people off of school for break and returning home, the coffee house gets the most traffic during these warm months. Girls with sun-kissed skin, lifeguards, skaters, geeks, college kids, people on military leave, single parents, even elementary schoolers- everyone gathers at the coffee house.
