The AU of Fablewood- IC non-canon

The horns had yet to sound. The troops were gearing up for a possible attack upon the campsite. None of our heroes, Generals, or friends had left yet on their duties. Those who had wandered off had found themselves back in the campground for one reason or another. There was tension in the air as the generals were preparing. They had caught wind of enemy troops coming in soon. The humans had been escorted nearby for they were the most important part in all of Fablewoods fate. Should Caraboss show their face, they needed to be ready for the worst. Though their numbers were strong, they were still not ready with the artifact recovered from the last quest. Small chants were heard from the campsite. They were not giving up without a fight no matter how dire things would get.

The world fell silent for a few moments. Time seemed to freeze as a chill in the air wrapped around each individual. Out of no where, the evil wizard had popped right in the middle of the Generals council. Without a word, she cast a spell and vanished in a puff of dark smoke. The chilled air brought mist and fog. The camp, Planes, and part of the forest was now all anyone could see. A trick set in place by Caraboss. They could get attacked from any angle and not see them coming. The scouts were sent out to check ahead. As they got to the fog, it felt thick. They waded their way past... only to end up back where they started. Each and every scout tried and tried again but yielded no progress. Once word got to the generals, they had to keep spirits high. They had the resources to cast an anti-magic spell by the way of a few magical beings in the camp, but it would take some time. They must be ready for the evil army possibly surrounding them in this time of imprisonment. Luckily, they had plains and forest wildlife for food and plenty of water. Not all was dark in this strange time.

(if it was not clear, this is an AU for in character fun. Nothing about this is in any way shape or form canon. Since Silver is away, a few of us talked it out about setting this up. Once she gets back, she can choose whether to leave this up or not. We still have not gotten a hold of her but I guess I will take any responsibility for this. So, let your characters interact! Have fun with it. There should be plenty to do. If you wanna bring some things up, just talk to the other people, I'm sure it'll be chill with them. )

The noon sun shone down through a mist of fog floating above the camp, casting a gentle, diffuse silver light over the numerous tents erected across the campgrounds. While differing forces may hold theirs at different times and in a variety of manners, a nearby human troop had just begun their standard military exercises. A newcomer to the army was passing by, their stride matched to the rhythm of the brass shouts of the soldier's training; while there was no bounce to their step, the jovial smile on their pale face still belied the possibility that this was intentional.

After their previous tent-mate had woken up in a cold sweat every night since the necromancer's arrival, accusing them of attempting to possess them with a ghost (a wrongful assumption, albeit the misunderstanding was bound to occur for reasons one dares not speak of too freely) they had been instructed to find themselves a solo lodging, or at least someone whose sleep could remain undisturbed. As such, they were now touring the various camps to that purpose. It was a quest to which their dedication was slightly outmatched by the curiosity of sightseeing. There was a marvellous concentration of racial and cultural diversity to behold, and being in such close quarters with all of them put the cloaked figure in a very social mood. Not that they had experienced anything resembling solitude since before they had even ever picked up a tome, but the living could lend a different kind of taste to the experience, so to speak. Wu hu hu.

A little while after the initial fog set in, Ty became slightly saddened. He could no longer experience the sight seeing of the world. Every time he charged past the fog, he just tripped back into his starting spot. He threw a small fit by himself in the forest section. He couldn't even find the three birds he had come to befriend. He wasn't too sure what aerillia was up to either nor where she was.

"Humf.... so much for Ty going on quest." He grunted to himself. It started to become noon and his temper faded. He was just disappointed now, but things weren't all bad. His chest stopped hurting from the sudden appearance of the Evil wizard. Every time he brought it up to some random soldier, they gave him a strange look. They said they found that odd considering his body. Ty had no concept that rocks shouldn't feel pain. Even though he didn't normally, the soul stone reacted strangely to the evil power.

"Guess Ty should go see if anyone needs help. Ty could help he thinks." He said to himself as he made his way back to the campsite. There, he noticed a cloaked figure who seemed to be a little bit everywhere at the moment.

"Hello, Ty wonders if cloaked person needs help? Ty could help maybe." He said with a little more energy than what he previously had.

(I'm going to pretend that Ward and Brenna are currently in a meeting with the other generals/high people, so that they have a place to come in if she does decide to keep this. Not sure about her other characters though. )

Ember with feathers fluttering in the wind, stood watch at the highest tree in the area, nestled safely in between the leaves. Her feathers fluttered in the wind and it was very comforting, but her main attention was not to let herself get swept up in nostalgia, but to keep watch over her new comrades and, specifically, her ward. His Majesty was currently in the main tent, perhaps making plans with the other superiors and Ember had thought it best to give them some privacy to plan and discuss battle strategies and what not.

Sharp blue eyes cut through the mist, as the firebird observed her comrades far below, most of whom she had not officially met yet. She recognized some, such as the lumbering giant whom many had taken a liking to because of his kind nature, the young priestess whom had grown on her as well as the girl with the wings who had crashed into her earlier. This little game of search and find was a good way to keep herself calm and the anxiety in her mind at bay.

While the firebird soaring in the mist overhead went unnoticed, It would be far more difficult to miss a giant lumbering mass of extraordinarily lively stone strolling over their way. As Ty's heavy steps closed in on the necromancer's position, their magnitude increased; which is to say, the accompanying quakes which travelled through the ground and sent tremors up the soles of Lamen's boots grew in amplitude. They could feel him coming far before they fixed him with a most fascinated, grey gaze, head tilting up at his approach. Whatever manner of artful wizardry had animated this golem was worthy of their admiration. There was an interesting energy which emanated from the being's core, perhaps even... sinister? A most curious construct, and of a possible relevance to Lamen's ongoing search. The being's infantile manner of speech during its delightful offer to help could be an artifice of various circumstances and did not necessarily suggest total ignorance of its own origins, but it was a hint. Difficult to gauge how much information they could get from this encounter, but if one did not ask, one would never know, after all.

First things first, they had need to respond. Lamen bowed courteously with one arm folded before them.

"Then, I graciously request your aid. Thank you." They straightened up again, smiling gently before they presented themselves with calm, paced speech. "My name is Lamen. I have recently joined this camp, and have been asked to find an unoccupied tent to stay in. However, the more I look around, the more it would appear there is no such thing... or at the very least, it is of a great rarity. Perhaps with your aid, we could simply build our own."

As Ward was busy with his royal affairs in war, Leandra found herself wandering through the campgrounds. The camp was bustling with activity, soldiers sharpening swords and polishing their armor while others practiced their swordsmanship or self-defense. The sound of metal against metal rang in the thick air of the camp, which was masked with anxiety. It felt impossible for anyone to sit still, as the fog surrounded the camp and seemed to have everyone trapped for the time being. Caraboss could be making her move any time now, and nobody knew when. Luckily, Leandra was not one of those in charge since she'd just be adding more anxiety to the already overwhelmingly anxious moment.

Deciding to make her hundredth check on Ward in the tent of royalty, Leandra made her way through the noisy camp to find Ember still standing vigilantly just outside the tent. Sighing, Leandra made her way up to Ember and shoved her hands into the front pockets of her cargo pants before pausing a few feet away. "So...I'm guessing they're still discussing important stuff in there?" Leandra asked while giving the tent flap a worried look. It'd been several hours since Leandra had last heard from Ward and it looked like their daily flight lesson was only going to be delayed even further by recent event.
