While in Syria, American, Russian, Assad, and Rebel forces battle, Israel seizes the moment to take all of Palestine. The invasions were quick and relatively less bloody compared to the Syrian Conflict. This, however, did not go unnoticed by Israel's neighbors and days later, the Arab League declares war on Israel, marking the beginning of the 2nd Israeli-Arab War. The first few weeks of the war were mainly in the Israelis favor, conquering parts of Syria, Jordan, Lebanon, and Egypt. About a month, or so, into the war, progression on all fronts have come to a halt, as reinforcements arrive from Saudi Arabia among other countries.
This hasn't gone unnoticed by other powers. Russia sends aid to Israel as a friendly gesture as an attempt to improve relations. Meanwhile, some NATO member states place an embargo on Israel while others choose to stay out of the war. NATO is divided on this conflict, but they can all agree on one thing; Russia is the real threat.
