EDDIE THAYER
TEDDY

Former cultist with a passion for torture, twisted brute, loving husband, and a red room's grisly host.

b81932c50d820370ebfd615814bd94f1.png

Age: 34

Gender: Male

Sexuality: Heterosexual

Ethnicity: White

Occupation: Restaurant supplier; a perfect disposal method for his other job.

Role: Agent

Secret: The outing of the red room livestreams and his identity would put his and his wife behind bars for the rest of their lives, plus a lot of victims' families in dire need of vengeance or retaliation. Having it all exposed would ruin their lives.

Personality: To those who first meet Eddie, they'd likely see a gentle giant who landed a loving, more outgoing wife. He keeps to himself in social situations, only sparing one or two words to whoever tries talking to him. He dislikes the crowds and the spotlight, usually trying to search for an escape to be alone while his wife happily deals with them. Eddie hops between words, unable to make a coherent sentence. The day-to-day life is something he despises. Only because he has to hold himself back.

For him, the genuine excitementโ€”where he truly shinesโ€”is the night scene as "Teddy." The only time he can express his engraved masochistic and sadistic tendencies as the captivating host of Hunting Season. His passion and excitement shines in the most grotesque of situation; he is all the more willing to finish jobs with his own hands, tossing away weapons for the personal satisfaction of it. Eddie grits his teeth and smiles through pain, giving off a perception as an unstoppable tank. He has trouble feeling anything else from the pain, for his upbringing only taught him the aforementioned tendencies. Once somebody is within their Hunting Grounds, Eddie sees that as complete freedom for him to do what he likes to them; as long as they die. He calls his torture "trials," curious to see how they manage the pain he inflicts. He judges them with a grade based on how they deal with it. He is still used to how everyone from his childhood dealt with pain, and he has yet to find anyone else to indulge in pain as much.

Background: At 12-years-old, Eddie Thayer was left by his parents in the hands of the Angel's Gate cult. Theyโ€”both of whom lacked any form of self-identity or self-worthโ€”sought Eddie's life as their means of recognition. Angel's Gate made them feel appreciated and loved after so many years; it was this blinding gratefulness to the community that led them to leave Eddie in their care, for his parents felt he would grow up better under Angel's Gate than themselves.

If you asked the man himself, his life prior was ten times worse than what he re-learned in Angel's Gate: Having to worry what others thought of him, spurred by his parents' constant check-ins and reminders to be successful; living by their standards of what was right and wrong, all entirely based on society's general view of things; the impossibility of getting more than three people to agree on one thing. Eddie despised these rule sets created by his family, acting out in school and in public areas against other children. He would beat those he found annoying, which was a wide variety of those he met. And every time, a harsh punishment awaited him. It was either to strip him to his underwear and hang him by his hands for all to see, or a spanking with the aid of a ruler or other whip-like tool.

But every time, he grinned and reveled in the humiliation and pain.

Eddie's induction into the cult was like a dream come true at this point in life. He was a quick learner to the cult's teachings and way of life. He gladly participated in the trials and rituals of the zealous. He took on the responsibility to dish them out to the ones still hesitant or unwilling; trapped in the cult by outer circumstrances.

When Ava introduced him to her daughter as an arranged bride, Eddie initially showed indifference. What was the point of marriage when there was still so much to be done? But year after year, those thoughts subsided. Amelia was just as indulgent and diligent as him. She wielded skills and ideas that he lacked. When they finally married at 22-years-old, they both knew it was a relation that would last.

Eddie stuck with Amelia throughout the rest of the timeline, ending up in his current position as a daytime restaurant supplier and the charismatic host of Hunting Season by weekend night.

Face Claim: John DeSantis

Appearance: Considering Eddie's hulky form, donning a mask is pointless. Standing at a height of 6'9" (205.7 cm) and weighing in with 324 lbs (147 kg), Eddie re-earned his moniker of "the looming grizzly, Teddy" based on that alone. As such, he prefers to stay indoors and keeps a low profile while working his daytime job. Eddie's hands and wrists are scarred with scratches, done in by people he's grabbed who desperately tried clawing themselves out of his grasp. On his back are whip marks, and on his rear are scars left by a nail-studded paddle. These scars were inflicted by himself or by his wife at his own behest as a "pleasure."

Other: As the host of Hunting Season, Teddy serves as the livestream's voice that narrates what happens via a system of cameras connected to several monitors in their house. He reads out fan messages and thanks users for generous donations, keeping everyone hyped with his game showโ€“esque tone. His biggest role only comes when Jackrabbit kills off all but one of the Prey. This survivor is found and dragged back to the house by Jackrabbit or a guest hunter (anonymous criminals, serial killers, etc.), where they are strapped onto a chair and put in front of a camera. It is this last portion of the livestream that Teddy delves deeper into his fantasies, torturing the victim as long as possible, drawing out the pain to make it as excruciating for them as possibleโ€”and as stimulating for him and the audience.

Bodies are disposed through his daytime job as a restaurant supplier.

DAHLIA WEINBRECHT
THE RED-EYED MONSTER, REINCARNATED

Obsessive fan of an arrested and deceased serial killer; passionate actor in theatre, donning altering personalities and disguises; goes by her own twisted sense of justice and righteousness.

(left)

Age: 24

Gender: Female

Sexuality: Pansexual

Ethnicity: German

Occupation: (Former) College student

Role: Agent

Secret: The Red-Eyed Monster, though spiteful of her nuclear family, remains closer to her extended relatives, particularly her aunt. With all the organizations and people she's wronged, their exposure would be met with retaliation of the same brutality she showed her victims.

Personality: A young, intelligent woman who topped the marks of her classes. Dahlia has shown great memorization and analytical skills, put to use when impersonating a role or storing important pieces of info in the back of her mind. With a penchant for acting and fond memories of theatre club, she often plays out scenes in her imagination while alone. Her peers know her as smart and kind, willing to lend a hand to those in trouble; a great person if you looked past her occasional rants for how the world needs to change and how it should be run, or her somewhat intimate passion for true crime. Anyone looking from the outside would only see a bright girl with a promising future. It's this exterior she puts up that masks the twisted thoughts that carve her mind.

Her passion for true crime extends much deeper than is reasonable, especially with a serial killer known as Drystan Wright, or more so the moniker given by the media: The Red-Eyed Monster. She admires him like a teen girl would a broadway celebrity. Dahlia sympathizes with what Drystan claims he fought and killed for, viewing him as a martyr to a much needed cause. Any slight against Drystan Wright will earn an irked response from her. She will jump to his defense, claiming that he is "misunderstood" and "was only trying to fix a broken society."

It was this fascination with Drystan that sent her down a spiral. What led to the rebirth of the Red-Eyed Monster.

Background: Like many other troubled people, Dahlia's childhood was not perfect. Born in Berchtesgaden, Germany, memories of home life were of a cold and distant mother, her fawned over sister, and a quick-tempered father. It wasn't as if her place in the household was intentional. She was simply not special enough to take any special notice from the rest of her family. A much harsher form of psychological torture.

There was an unspoken rule in the family to never talk about the troubles they felt; to bottle it in, in order for the family to be happy. A regulation so the tense atmosphere never toppled over the unsteady line. Dahlia, who was already the most troubled, suffered the most. Alone in her room, she would often tear out patches of her hair; a method to ease the mental pain with physical hurt. She wore a baseball cap to hide these injuries from her family and outside.

While her sister enjoyed a popular social life, engaging in activities that earned her the limelight and reputation in her school, Dahlia was more quiet and awkward. Just like at home, nobody seemed to care or notice the plain girl in the background. Her interests lined more with watching theatre plays and fantasizing scripts where she was the main character; troubled, but overcoming everything in the end.

Dahlia felt like there was nothing in the world for her. Trapped in her airtight bottle, she believed nobody would care if she vented out her troubles. She didn't think anybody felt the same way she did or could possibly empathize with her.

Entering middle school marked a huge turning point in life. Her mother gifted the two children their phones, and Dahlia's sister decided to teach her ways to pretty herself up. That was all it took for Dahlia to gain some attention in class, where she also gathered up the courage to join a theatre club. Though her lack of desire for socializing hadn't changed, her classmates were left wondering who this tomboyish Weinbrecht wasโ€”the one with an entirely distinct air compared to her outgoing sister. This reputation only rose after her club organized a few plays, including Dahlia in some prominent roles.

The theatre club was her first sanctuary. People there were kind and open; always willing to help. She felt like she contributed to something for once. But every time she succeeded somewhere, her sister somehow popped up on a higher pedestal. Sanctuary, it may have been, it wasn't perfect. Especially with students popping in to ask her about her sister.

This cycle repeated for the next two years, and because of Dahlia's monotonous attitude, the attention towards her shrunk more and more.

Her second safe haven was with her extended family, especially her aunt. Her aunt was one of the few people that cared for everyone equally. The amount of love she showed Dahlia was already a hundred times more than her own parents cared to show. Dahlia would stop by her aunt's house over the weekends and spend most of the day there before having to return home. She never bothered to tell her loving aunt about the conditions in the household, still going by the family's unspoken rule.

It was before entering high school that she overheard some kids mention her sister's social media page. Out of curiosity, she checked it out only to be stunned by her amount of followers and love she received from total strangers. Returning home only saw her parents fawn over her astounding success in terms of reputation and image.

It was a stroke of luck that, scrolling through other pages of the social media, she learned of a deceased serial killer called The Red-Eyed Monster. Drystan Wright felt trapped by the world, having tried to live an earnest life only to have to drop out of college because of his family's financial issues. His tortured mind eventually led to murder, where his first victim was a greedy, old pawnbroker who scammed the impoverished for herself. He would go on to claim the lives of dozens of more victims, mutilating them grotesquely for a wrongdoing they've committed and got away with. The severity of the crimes and lack of connection between him and the victims led authorities on a long goose chase. All while he maintained a stellar image to friends and family.

At each crime scene, he left a red eye painted in the victim's blood (which earned the moniker) alongside a memo for what they did to deserve death. Drystan found meaning in playing judge, jury, and executioner. In a world where everything he tried to do was dragged out of his reach, he finally felt in control over fate.

Drystan was finally caught and imprisoned after 11 known murders. He would reason to the press during his arrest that nobody would miss themโ€”an accurate statement for most of his victims. He was murdered in prison by his cellmate, who was appalled by Drystan's crimes.

After the media spread the young man's face, his motives, and cause throughout the entire nation, playing him up like a vigilante taken a turn down a path of evil, it was no surprise that there was an obsessive internet following for him. Dahlia stumbled upon this community, empathizing with the serial killer, much like the other fans. It was on this forum she found a true sanctuary for her demons. The only place she could experience comfort and warmth from. She read his manifestos and memorized the themes of his ideologies, including the way he spoke and worded himself.

Going into college, she and her sister moved out of the house and went their separate ways. But without a word to her family, Dahlia dropped out of class shortly after the first semester. As her only happiness stemmed from the Red-Eyed Monsters and the ideals that drove him to kill, she found less meaning in a proper future through education and work. She found herself in euphoria as she drew similarities between herself and Drystan: moved away from her family for college only to drop out, having an older sister, and sharing the same initials of DW. Drystan had not yet succeeded his mission, seen in her neglectful parents and the bad hand dealt to her by society. His ideals have not been realized, a fact that her and his following viewed with contempt.

She rented out an old, worn apartment much like the dilapidated one Drystan lived in during college.

Her first victim was a selfish pawnbroker who saw value in making bank off of the elderly. In a similarly brutal fashion to Drystan, she left the corpse strung around and mutilated. Beside it, painted in his blood, was a picture-perfect copy of the red eye insignia with a written memo.

Face Claim: Jennifer Jason Leigh

Appearance: Dahlia has done all she could to make herself appear as close as Drystan as possible, cutting her hair short and in a similar bowl-cut he had. Her natural stare is one of cold emptiness (in pic above), often done when she is lost in thought. With enough effort, Dahlia can make herself look like a young, slim boy.

Insignia:
nv3y9H5e.png

(A symbol drawn in blood at any of the Monster's crime scenes)

Other: Though obsessed with the preceding Red-Eyed Monster, there were some things about his philosophies that she couldn't help but disagree withโ€”so in turn she put her own spin on them. "Perfecting" the ideals from the past life, as she claims.

Instead of the disordered method of killing that the previous Red-Eyed Monster stuck to, Dahlia applied her knowledge and passion into her new hobby. Her acting skills combined with the task of taking disguises led to greater possibilities. With the steady process of gathering intel, then a disguise if need be, Dahlia has used her acting skills to deceive people in order to get close to places she shouldn't be. And it is through this that she has slain people that not even Drystan could have gotten to.

Dahlia earns money by robbing her victims after the murder. Sometimes, she will call home to ask for money from her parents.

Her sister sometimes calls to see how she is doing. As much as Dahlia would hate to admit it, she's growing on her sibling.
