Futuristic Survival in an unknown world

As the Intergalactic Cruise ship made its way through the atmosphere, everyone visited happily, strangers conversed and enjoyed each others company. Everything ran smooth, no one suspected that anything could go wrong. However, this was short-lived. Heading back to Earth, the ship's engine failed less than halfway through, causing the ship to descend toward an unknown planet. The ship began breaking apart, unknown to the passengers that the pilot was trying to save himself, slowing his descent, by dropping as many hulls as he could. The primary parts scattered down a beach and through the trees, blood decorating the metal plates that used to hold the ship together, that now lie in pieces across the new planet. How many people survived? The first goal, regroup. The second goal, stay alive. Large beasts begin invading the survivors, attacking from the forest. The beasts look like wolves, or a wild cat, exceptionally large, sharp teeth, putrid smell, claws that dig into the planets earth as if it were warm butter. Their eyes glow an eerie crimson color, looking almost like demons rather than animals, but alas they are simply animals indigenous to this planet. Are you better off with the cover of the forest even if that is where they come from? Or is it better for you if you landed on the beach? Can you survive?

You wake. There is a throbbing in your head, a sharp pain in your arm, and something gritty under one of your feet. You lift a hand to your head and feel a small knot. That explains the throbbing. You open your eyes and see that half of you is in the water, half on the sand. The water is lapping over a large cut on your arm, one that is still filled with a thick piece of metal.

You brush the sand off of what is left of your clothes and look around. The sand is littered with crushed, bloody metal and crumpled bodies. You gag. As you look around, you can only think of one thing:

What the hell happened?

You vaguely remember talking to someone, and then heat, horrible, burning heat. After that, you remember the sensation of falling and then a large blue-green planet filling the window. After that, nothing. You figure you must have fallen, hit your head, and fainted. You have a second question:

Did anyone else survive?

You look around. It seems most everyone was crushed on impact. You walk over the bodies and pick your way through the rubble, and look everywhere. Soon, you hear a moan. You let out a cry of excitement and rush over. Someone else did survive! As you reach them, a scream shatters the silence, followed by a crunching sound. Something- or someone- was just eaten. You cringe and move over to the place where you heard the moan. There is a bloody arm sticking out from under a crumpled piece of metal. If you walk around the ball, you can see a leg. You get your hands under the ball of metal, and almost throw up when you feel the slimy blood coating it. You get a grip on it and push up. You grunt, as it is heavy, and you aren't in very good shape, but you manage to get it off, nonetheless. A girl is underneath, and she has jet-black hair. Her shirt is torn, exposing her stomach. Her jeans are ripped at the knee, although that looks to be more of a fashion choice than part of the crash. She has a large piece of metal sticking out of her stomach. She opens one eye, the other is stuck shut with blood. They are a deep blue, much like the ocean. She groans, and puts a hand on her stomach. She groggily feels the piece of metal and doesn't react for a moment. Then she looks down, and screams. What do you do?

A. Calm her down and help her up

OR

B. Pull the metal out

(Sorry for the long intro, and please here vote here, not in the story archive tab. Also, @Sombra Arcana)

We don't have anything to bind or close the wound, so getting the metal out would do more harm than anything else.
